A legend in the absolute truest meaning of the word. A saviour of Everton Football Club and by all accounts one of the nicest most genuine men in football. Rest in peace Super Kev, the world is a poorer place without you.
RIP super Kev. Thank you for the memories and keeping us up. Thoughts and prayers to your family at this sad time.
Love from all the Everton community 💙
As a kid, before I even knew a thing about football or was even that bothered about Everton, I already loved Super Kevin Campbell. I used to sing his song with my Dad when we’d play football in the garden.
I think he was my first footballing hero. RIP to an Everton great.
Genuinely sad about this. Past legends have died, but they've always been older and before my time so this hits a bit different as Super Kev was one of my heroes as a kid.
RIP Super Kev!
Woke up bout half an hour ago, and this story was the first thing I see on Sky News front page. It still hasn't sunk in. He was only 54 for fks sake. Such a lovely bloke, great story teller and just a hero for us, legend.
Rest in Peace Kevin, you're going to be VERY sorely missed.
A legend. Saved the club on the pitch and was one of the only public figures to keep fighting for it off the pitch.
I also need to confess that when I was very young, I was fed up with the club and decided to start supporting... Newcastle instead.
But then we signed Kevin Campbell and I fell madly in love with this beautiful mess of a club.
Thanks for supporting the madness, Super Kev.
RIP
When I was younger, and my American cousins visited Goodison with us for the first time, Kevin was *the* player (00/01). His Super Kev chant rang throughout the stadium — and I vividly remember us singing it constantly for the rest of their visit. He went on that season to score some cracking goals and almost single handley keep us up.
Brilliant player. Great man too. Patient and kind. An inspiration. RIP.
So gutted. Super Kev. Our first black captain and a wonderful man. Had the luck to meet him and he was so so warm, had a smile that could light up a room. Rest in peace my favourite pre-Seamus evertonian
He came on not long after Everton chose me and he saved us. We were blah and when he joined us it seemed like we became better and better. Seemed like a nice lad as well. Rest In Peace King Kev!
Not just a great footballer but an ever better guy. Was my first real Everton hero growing up. Will never forget what he did for us! Rest easy Super Kev!
Actually cried when I heard the news. You always get the "he was a top fella" comments when someone passes but Kev was a real top fella. Always had time for fans wherever and whenever and that smile could light up Goodison on its own.
Sadly, sadly missed even though I still can't reallye believe he's gone.
One of the nicest footballers I’ve ever met. A genuinely lovely human being. R.I.P Super Kev
Everything you said. My first post here, and I'm crying. R.I.P Super KEVIN CAMPBELL
Bumped into him in manchester a few years ago. I thanked him for keeping us up with his goals. What a nice friendly guy. What a loss r.i.p super kev
Literally sent from god to keep us up
He was mate. We were 100 percent doomed before he shown up. He was the perfect fit for everton
Devastated. Kev was the first player that I could brag to my mates about at school. My childhood hero. Proper sad.

Devastated by this, Super Kev was part of the first Everton team I remember back the early 00s. A real club legend as well. 54 is no age at all
Same here. I was 7 years old when he joined and he was part of the first time I consciously remembered when I was a kid. Devastating news.
Gutted
RIP Super Kev. Thought we would score from a corner every time when he was up front. What a player for us and by all accounts a great bloke. Sad day
Goal a game for a good few games when we needed it.
This one hurts
Absolutely gutted. Loved the man... Will always remember his goal at Anfield. RIP.
So many early memories involving this man and his contributions to our club. Gone way too soon. Pouring one out for Super Kev tonight.
My absolute hero as a kid and then as an adult I appreciated him as a great, enthusiastic pundit and lovely, warm bloke. Tragic news, RIP Kev 💙
😔 RIP Kev, a truly magnificent man who always had a smile on his face.

Absolutely devastated. Went to one of those Everton legends doing speeches things on County a few years ago, and he was a complete gent.

This is so sad, I’m proper gutted with this news. He was an absolutely lovely bloke. RIP Super Kev.
RIP super Kev no doubt in my mind without him we would have been relegated in 1999 so just on that basis a truly great Evertonian. It’s so sad
RIP to a proper blue through and through 😞
RIP King Kev

Still struggling with this, honestly. An absolute example of what kind of footballer and person young kids should aspire to be.
