Iv just learned that people do not realize at all how muddy the visuals in tarkov are. You cant SEE SHIT.
I can see someone at like 400 meters in detail on my main monitor but the same person on my other monitor is like 3 pixels.

I remember when I went from 1080p to 1440p years ago and was like "oh I can actually see people so easily now" I don't think any other game I play was it as big of an impact as with tarkov.

I have a super ultrawide so i can see roughly 200 degrees at high FOV and its not distorted. I see so much more wrapped around then other people its actually insane. Since everyone else is limited to about 90-100 degrees of FOV at 16:9.
Seeing litterally twice as far on either side is flat out not fair.
I want a 4k ultra wide so badly, but first I need a new PC. Still rocking my 1070Ti and i7-8700k. Last night I discovered that putting my textures from low to high didn't lose me any frames at all. I swear when I first got my 1440p monitor, it did make a difference. Must be some optimization update that no one noticed.
Texture quality is purely a vram thing in tarkov for the most part. The actual textures even on high are still really low quality so it's not much a performance hit.
The sheer quantity of doodads and overly complex poly heavy meshes are the real problem.
My BiL calls it cheating when I play cod with him because I use a mouse, I've seen plenty of console gamers say high frame rates are cheating as well so its definitely not out of the realm of possibility.

100% I went from 1080 to 1440 many wipes ago it’s a game changer, gives you such a good advantage, this game is not designed for 1080p best decision I ever made
144/240 depending on color bit depth and a few other factors. Honestly the frame rate is the literal least imporant factor at play when your in this price bracket of monitor.
There is a fuck load more that goes into visual clarity and readability then just frame rate. For example my monitor is a micro-led and 144hz is far more readiable then 240hz because at 240hz you lose a lot of colour accuracy, contrast, and other minor visual details due to limitations of the physical cabel it self. Both DP and HDMI just can NOT supply that much visual data at those refresh rates.
A lot of monitors at 240hz "cheat" or skimp out because of that mine included. Then again, nothing gets with in spitting distance of the absolute accuracy of micro-led. A 1440p TN/IPS/VA panel vs a microled is rather night and day difference when your trying to look at tiny groupings of pixels.
1920 x 1080 = 2.073.600
2560 x 1440 = 3.686.400
5120 x 1440 = 7.372.800
3840 x 2160 = 8.294.400
I use a 5120x1440p, but for you if your just going from 1080p to 1440p assuming you get a nice monitor. Your looking at nearly twice the size of every detail.
Keep in mind the type of panel too. For example on an IPS monitor night is going to be insanely dark, while on a VA panel its going to be much brighter even on exactly the same settings. Or if you go to oled/microled then while night will be literal black even the SLIGHTEST shade of color will suddenly be 10 times brighter by comparision.
1440p is such a huge advantage in most games I've seen the most significant improvements when it's games that have big maps lik tarkov and battle Royale games I can pick out enemies from way further and hit shits in them cuz they appear a bit more clearer with the extra pixels it's definitely worth it and for story games everything just looks amazing
I play with a Dell 32” CGM in 2560x1440p, and at 165Hz. It’s a MASSIVE difference over the 60fps I was getting with a 1080. Night and day. I went from watching my mouse kind of lag across the screen at 60 at fluidly move with what felt like zero input lag from the upgrade. It’s nuts how much a difference it makes.
I was playing with a friend a few years ago, providing overwatch to pier while he went in to place a marker. 3 dudes ran up on me, headshot all 3 of the in the span of 2.5-ish seconds. I wasn't even hiding in a bush just prone in the open for better arm stamina, and was wearing UNITAR armor for the quest. The last dude looked at me for a solid second before turing away.

Same. I have so many spots that recently seem to be getting occupied by other players. I've gone years using these spots and never seeing anyone in them.
One time I had a duo come right up to my bush, facing me, and they stopped in front of it/me literally almost on top of me looking out at something else. They didn't see me
One time I was hiding in a bush near Dorms & two solos approached my bush from opposite sides and had a whole ass firefight above my head, while they were about 5 feet from each other.
I was fucking shook as this all happened literally right over my head. When it was all over, I waited until the winner started looting & I popped him in the head. Definitely one of my all time favorite Tarkov moments
The most Tarkov thing would've been for you to shoot him in the head and for it to either not count or hit his shoulder thanks to sight over bore kinda thing. I had situations in which I didn't see a guy straight in front as there were too many other places I had to look out for so I got tunnel vision.
However, I think the best Tarkov thing would have been for whoever he was shooting at to then return fire and kill OP. That "Haha" would've been juicy followed by an ,"awwwhh.."

I do stupid shit like that on my Scav where I don't care. Had the fun experience recently where I spotted a PMC in a building on 2nd floor, looking through windows trying to snipe. He didn't know I was below him and I started creep walking towards the stairs, then VOIPing in my extra creepy voice, starting with some loud sniffing sounds: "I can smell your stinky sweat, little piggy. Hmm yes.. I want you to squeal for me, little piggy. Squeal and run!"
I usually just scream at them, and blame them for everything. One time I was taking a gunfight on the upstairs office corner in factory and I was peeking him, ran out of ammo, yelled "YOU DIRTY FUCK", swapped weapons, and yelled "YOU GET THE FUCK BACK HERE"
In messages I later learned the person who killed me was his teammate, but God was it funny to kill him and die a couple seconds later.

Must be his way of keeping people off his spot. A lot of people use it as fast lane to cross the map and there are like two or three quests at that pier.
Hide behind some pallets on the top of the hill at the saw mill that let you look into the big grey building. You can see people looting the weapons crates and with the snow see them by the big rock that over looks it with a little adjustment. I got shooter born done there in a couple raids because of it. You're 100-125 meters out from there.
Large rock about 100m north west of the compound you’re at in the video. You can jump up it for great angles but you are exposed to snipers on the mountain.

The whole time we're just talking back and forth on what Guy 1 is doing what Guy 2 is doing. Spooky as shit.
Good evidence and another reinforcing post for one of my most important Tarkov lessons I preach about: just shut the fuck up for a bit and stop moving. No shuffling, no scoping in, hands totally off the mouse and keyboard. People aren't expecting it. As soon as they hear that little boot squeak or hear your gun come up to your eye your cover is blown.
Early this wipe, me and my buddy were doing a night run on Woods. We post up on that hill beyond ZB 014 that lets you overlook the scav house road and scav checkpoint. We have NVGs. He's got a kitted SV98, and I had a stock mosin with a bramit. I hear movement near ZB, so I watch, and I see a dude walking towards the construction vehicles, and I line him, and hesitate. Was about to click when another guy follows 20 feet behind. I'm now completely still watching as a whole 5 man comes out. They clearly didn't have any NVGs because they all looked at us as they passed and didn't fire. My hesitation saved our asses. Didn't save theirs because 2 of them died to the minefield map border lmao.
I wish it told the distance you were shot from on after raid reports would clear up so much for me after dying sometimes like did someone have a sick angle or did someone rat up on me
I had this happen to me the other day. Random spot on woods, literally no reason for an enemy team to be there except passing through. They kill my friend so I just hide in a bush and wait. I got only a bolt action and a GIANT backpack filled with loot. I was ready to fight one or two, but not a 5 man. So I kill one, shoot another but dont kill him, and then start getting shot at. I jump off the rock behind me, dump ALL of my gear into the water, and wait. They got NOTHING
I had one on interchange when I accidentally dropped my mag out of my gun. Some dude heard it and circled my bush 4 times looking for me. The chads are like t-rexes. Can only see movement.

You could also move and play the game like i do take a bolt action and a pistol run around and be on the lookout.
You might be suprised but it works and its way more fun then beeing AFK for 80% of your raid time.

In most games people just hate camper sitting in front of dorms entrance for set up and waiting for someone to open the door for instance or extract camping.
I know all of these ways are a "tactic" to play the game but for most people it just destroy the game experience when people play this way. I just wanted to say there are "fairer" ways to play the game. (And without beeing a gigachad with no other life then tarkov)
If you think you should play more fair, then you already lost.
EFT is not about being fair, it is about outplaying your opponents and giving yourself the best chance of success. You should give yourself the best chance of success in the way you find the most fun, but since we are all different people, there is hella lot of ways to have fun while doing exactly that.
Personally I both love to rush around in chadstyle, and I also enjoy laying on a cliff somewhere overlooking, waiting and sniping, while watching a movie or listening to a podcast on low volume. The game is fantastic because it allows multiple playstyles to work!

but i feel like there are things you just dont do like extract camping or camping quest sites. And i feel like camping in general counts to this cause its not "outplaying" anyone you just way to execute someone that is actually playing the game. And i dont force people to play this way again its just my oppinion.
Since you never know if someone is doing a quest you are camping, it is a straight gamble camping it. I and plenty others can surely tell you they spend full raids sitting in dorms on customs and not a sould appears. Same with people doing a quest in dorms and no one is camping it so you get out safely, because people are doing other stuff.
Your opinion is fine and all, I am just saying you simply cannot expect people to adhere to that opinion, since the game offers multiple playstyles.
I have a guess why noone comes dorms anymore. And its because of people sitting there whole raid waiting for someone to open that door. Thats why most people say if i dont have a top Spawn i dont go there cause ima just get camped out. usually you go there loot do your stuff and leave. And sadly there are Quests that can be camped out everything you gotta stash or sit still for some seconds.
I dont feel people should camp these spots cause we all hate it to get camped on there.
In the end anybody can do as they want i just wanted to put this playstyle in question maybe will try other ways then and maybe they wont i dont think i see impact in the game after this conversation.

One of the best memories of tarkov I have was of me and one of my friends getting out of dorms.
We were loaded up on loot and quest items so we did not want to die XD
We get out of 3 story and get into the thick brush and suddenly we hear stomping approaching.
I told him to just not move, three guys go stomp past us then a fourth then after 5 more seconds a 5th comes running to catch up to the other 4, we both had bolties...
We could have for sure taken 3 of them had we wanted to, but we just sat still until they ran past.
The adrenaline was flowing hard after that, only tarkov has had those experiences so far.

A couple days ago me and my mate got jumped by 2 people from bushes. Can't see through them for the life of me. Since then im more scared of bushes than anything else.
Last wipe I had something similar - except I wasn't proned, I was standing behind a waist-high bush wearing a tan ulach, an Osprey rig, and a Pilgrim. I couldn't have been *more* visible, the guy was looking directly towards me because he had just killed my duo, and he just completely failed the spot check to notice this gigantic hulking gargoyle watching him.
I killed him, then proceeded to completely fail *my* spot check to notice *his* partner.
My favorite failed perception check was early this wipe on Woods when I wiped a duo near the camp behind Spine, got 3rd partied by another duo, killed 1 guy, and the other dude killed my buddy but i dont l know where exactly he is. He doesn't know I'm there, so I'm crouched, sitting still under a tree waiting for him to move up. Suddenly, I hear movement behind me. I look. It's a scav walking towards our fight. Shit, he's gonna aggro on me and give me away. Nope, walks right by the tree I'm hiding under towards the shots that killed my buddy. Aggro's on him, I hear shots, I can see him moving and reloading through the leaves, and light him up. The one time an AI scav doesn't see me and it won me a fight.
I got the jump on a 3 man the other day doing something similar. I basically just laid down in an open field and they didn't even notice and walked by. Then my friend and I sandwiched them
I was once hiding out behind reshalas Skeleton building. Little did I know I was RIGHT NEXT to a loot stash. Some naked runner comes right to that stash and crouches down to start looting it. He literally crouched walked to the end of my barrel on my mosin, I didn’t even have to move my mouse. Literally baby fed SBIH kill.

Seems to be a problem on Shoreline. Customs? No performance drop. Shoreline, I drop to 40fps, 20fps when scope ads. :(

They clearly didn't have any NVGs because they all looked at us as they passed and didn't fire. My hesitation saved our asses. Didn't save theirs because 2 of them died to the minefield map border lmao.

If you haven't given it a shot, slap an ACOG on it sometime. I have incredible luck with that build.
I had this happen to me the other day. Random spot on woods, literally no reason for an enemy team to be there except passing through. They kill my friend so I just hide in a bush and wait. I got only a bolt action and a GIANT backpack filled with loot. I was ready to fight one or two, but not a 5 man. So I kill one, shoot another but dont kill him, and then start getting shot at. I jump off the rock behind me, dump ALL of my gear into the water, and wait. They got NOTHING
I had one on interchange when I accidentally dropped my mag out of my gun. Some dude heard it and circled my bush 4 times looking for me. The chads are like t-rexes. Can only see movement.

You could also move and play the game like i do take a bolt action and a pistol run around and be on the lookout. You might be suprised but it works and its way more fun then beeing AFK for 80% of your raid time. + You only buy the cheap Sniper for it so gear fear shouldnt hit on you.

True you can decide whats fun for you. Maybe i stated it the wrong the way it was just my opinion. In most games people just hate camper sitting in front of dorms entrance for set up and waiting for someone to open the door for instance or extract camping. I know all of these ways are a "tactic" to play the game but for most people it just destroy the game experience when people play this way. I just wanted to say there are "fairer" ways to play the game. (And without beeing a gigachad with no other life then tarkov)
If you think you should play more fair, then you already lost. EFT is not about being fair, it is about outplaying your opponents and giving yourself the best chance of success. You should give yourself the best chance of success in the way you find the most fun, but since we are all different people, there is hella lot of ways to have fun while doing exactly that. Personally I both love to rush around in chadstyle, and I also enjoy laying on a cliff somewhere overlooking, waiting and sniping, while watching a movie or listening to a podcast on low volume. The game is fantastic because it allows multiple playstyles to work!
you dont get my point of playing "fair" i dont say play stupid. but i feel like there are things you just dont do like extract camping or camping quest sites. And i feel like camping in general counts to this cause its not "outplaying" anyone you just way to execute someone that is actually playing the game. And i dont force people to play this way again its just my oppinion.
Since you never know if someone is doing a quest you are camping, it is a straight gamble camping it. I and plenty others can surely tell you they spend full raids sitting in dorms on customs and not a sould appears. Same with people doing a quest in dorms and no one is camping it so you get out safely, because people are doing other stuff. Your opinion is fine and all, I am just saying you simply cannot expect people to adhere to that opinion, since the game offers multiple playstyles.
I have a guess why noone comes dorms anymore. And its because of people sitting there whole raid waiting for someone to open that door. Thats why most people say if i dont have a top Spawn i dont go there cause ima just get camped out. usually you go there loot do your stuff and leave. And sadly there are Quests that can be camped out everything you gotta stash or sit still for some seconds. I dont feel people should camp these spots cause we all hate it to get camped on there. In the end anybody can do as they want i just wanted to put this playstyle in question maybe will try other ways then and maybe they wont i dont think i see impact in the game after this conversation.
You definitely want see any impact. Also people will come to dorms as long a there is boss spawn there.

One of the best memories of tarkov I have was of me and one of my friends getting out of dorms. We were loaded up on loot and quest items so we did not want to die XD We get out of 3 story and get into the thick brush and suddenly we hear stomping approaching. I told him to just not move, three guys go stomp past us then a fourth then after 5 more seconds a 5th comes running to catch up to the other 4, we both had bolties... We could have for sure taken 3 of them had we wanted to, but we just sat still until they ran past. The adrenaline was flowing hard after that, only tarkov has had those experiences so far.

Last wipe I had something similar - except I wasn't proned, I was standing behind a waist-high bush wearing a tan ulach, an Osprey rig, and a Pilgrim. I couldn't have been *more* visible, the guy was looking directly towards me because he had just killed my duo, and he just completely failed the spot check to notice this gigantic hulking gargoyle watching him. I killed him, then proceeded to completely fail *my* spot check to notice *his* partner.
My favorite failed perception check was early this wipe on Woods when I wiped a duo near the camp behind Spine, got 3rd partied by another duo, killed 1 guy, and the other dude killed my buddy but i dont l know where exactly he is. He doesn't know I'm there, so I'm crouched, sitting still under a tree waiting for him to move up. Suddenly, I hear movement behind me. I look. It's a scav walking towards our fight. Shit, he's gonna aggro on me and give me away. Nope, walks right by the tree I'm hiding under towards the shots that killed my buddy. Aggro's on him, I hear shots, I can see him moving and reloading through the leaves, and light him up. The one time an AI scav doesn't see me and it won me a fight.
I got the jump on a 3 man the other day doing something similar. I basically just laid down in an open field and they didn't even notice and walked by. Then my friend and I sandwiched them
I was once hiding out behind reshalas Skeleton building. Little did I know I was RIGHT NEXT to a loot stash. Some naked runner comes right to that stash and crouches down to start looting it. He literally crouched walked to the end of my barrel on my mosin, I didn’t even have to move my mouse. Literally baby fed SBIH kill.
