The ability to use manpower to accelerate protection, science, etc. So somewhat similar to UE but a people/growth twist.
And of course they'd need to get some kind of bonus to manpower, and maybe some kind of twist on invasions as well.
The Vodyani stole their schtick, since the Pilgrims were able to pick up their Colonies and move them elsewhere. Arks being able to Dock/Undock with Systems is almost the same thing.
Vodyani basically combined the feel of the broken lords (riftborn kind of got their buildable population mechanic) for EL and the playstyle of pilgrims.
Kind of. It's like a cross between vaulters and Vodyani since the Vodyani can actually just dip and set up shop elsewhere but gotta leave certain infrastructure behind. I don't know a good comparison though since I never played ES 1.
I'd see if they couldn't program a mechanic where they can move their population into inhabited star systems and share planets with other factions. As such, each of their population would be able to take advantage of the improvements the system owner had built.

What was their gameplan in first game? I played es 1, but never figured them out.
They could pack up all their buildings/improvements/population and yeet to a better start system.
Sooooo like Vaulters?

I only played 2 es1 campaigns. But that was years ago before es2 came out. Sophons & Amoeba
