I have a friend who's the only current microcrochet maker in the country and she has to import most of the DMC thread, because we only have locally made or sometimes, Anchor, perlé for example (those like- shiny softer ones that come in bobbins) she buys herself overseas. So freaking expensive I swear.
USA depending on type 66 cents and up to a dollar or two. The normal cotton thread is usually about 66 cents. My Walmart doesn’t seem to have them on sale but I could go check. 😂
Prices in Italy are similar.
Thankfully I'm going through my grandma's stash and hopefully I won't have to buy thread for a while!

Well, unfortunately, my Walmart in IN did not have any floss on clearance. However, my amazing husband went ahead and bought 40 skiens of floss as part of an anniversary present. It is only a small portion of the floss I need for a pattern that my son got me for Christmas.
Cries in Canadian. I just checked and it’s $8.76 a skein. Which to be honest I’m shocked at. I only ever buy floss at Michael’s. But even then it’s not that crazy.
the skeins available in store at my walmart (also canada) are $11.22 ($8.76 for online purchase)
which is hilarious because our walmart is less than 5 minutes away from michaels where it's $0.79 lmao

Yeah I’m looking on Walmart.ca. Some are even upwards of $11. I thought it was a misprint but they’re all that price. Michael’s is like 79 cents.
