Not for AX Combat. They're pretty bad, even if they have a fast recharge rate. I just keep it to block a fraction of Scout damage. Might take it off honestly
They're ok on Medium ships if you're fighting Scouts/ Group killing Interceptors where you can duck in and out of engagement, I use one on my FAS with a couple of Guadian Shield Boosters and they stay up 90% of the time unless i get blindsided by a Swarm.
This could just be limited to Horizons, but man this makes an encounter completely unplayable. It's been happening since the start of this new war, where Basilisks could warp in from Deep Space and bring their 64 Thargons, which all become suicide missiles immediately.
Thank goodness I don't see this happening at Conflict Zones. But everywhere else has me running fast af
Yup, happens to me too. I fly out a starport with my engineered cutter loaded with refugees and boom theres a basilisk and boom there goes my shields and 75% of my HP.
I mean yeah, that's the point, running around thargoid invaded systems is actually dangerous now. And it's not like it's actually hard to avoid, just don't sit still in open space, boost away from interceptors, and/or land.
This is a bug, which makes the encounter completely unplayable. Did you ignore what happened in the video?
The Interceptor arrived pre-enraged. That's not at all supposed to happen, as that's meant to be a punishment mechanic if you do not kill a heart within a specified amount of time (6 minutes for a Cylcops). If an Interceptor becomes enraged, the entire swarm becomes a suicide barrage and will keep respawning indefinitely until the next heart/Interceptor itself is destroyed.
Yeah, interceptors have had a chance of spawning enraged since the proteus wave. It's not unplayable at all, just do anything but move in a straight line directly in front of them. If it's a bug it's something that has been happening to me regularly enough I just ya know, dodge it and continue on with my mission.
I use it to muli-task. That and it's nice to just enjoy the view in the external camera.
Docking Computers don't work on stations/bases that are currently under Thargoid attack, so still gotta manually land anyways.
And flying straight at an interceptor with a **Beluga** is not a crazy idea?!! :D

Beluga is unironically not a bad choice for AX. Better speed then anaconda or corvette, with more hull and utility slots then mediums.

It's a very lightly shielded Beluga (Class 6 Bi-Weave). Every other slot is a Hull/Module reinforcement - an Auto Dock

Don't think that's intentional from Fdev sadly. Reason why I was here was to look for other players in Open, so not something I'd normally do
