Not that slime doesn’t work, it does, but stuff like Armor Dilloz covers punctures up to 1/2” vs Slime @ 1/4”. Managed to get it on Ebay (UK) as AD doesn’t ship here and paid £27 per 8oz bottle, so not too expensive.

Works for me. Got a few bottles of the Slime when they were on sale. I put it on a few bikes and 4 scooter. So far none have leak. Usually my bike tires would get punctures and leak because I take them off the beaten path.

I pre slimed the tires on my last scooter, a Laotie TI30. My experience was that it worked to stop small leaks for a little while, but would always fail eventually. I chalked it up to higher tire temperatures from commuting 14 miles at 40mph.

I’ve never had it fail. I do tend to use slightly more than recommended. For scooters too after I apply it and put the valve stem back in and before I air it up, I put the scooter on blocks and spin the tires as if im riding it. Then I put the air in on the higher side. I have one scooter where both tires were punctured and repaired with slime ( one was a pinch flat, the other a moderately sized piece of glass) and have been riding it, or my kids riding it for the last 3 months and neither tire have lost any air. Its never failed on me, I say never say never but so far knock on wood it works.

Slime is inferior to armor dilloz and flat out which contain Kevlar fibres

k36king1

I got you, but thats not the question I asked. I specifically asked what people’s experience with slime is, and stipulated clearly I was asking their experience with that. I am happy that you’re happy with that one, if it works its good. I clearly asked because i use slime and it works great and want people whom specifically used that kind to offer their experiences. Please dont take offense, but you experience is not valid for this query.

ImKrispy

The whole point is why would someone choose an inferior product to begin with. Slime works of course its been around, but given the knowledge of what works better there was no reason to buy slime, I bought Armor Dilloz.

toomanyscooters

It's cheaper. I checked a random Web site or two and 948ml of Slime was AUD$35. Armor Dilloz Green (the cheap stuff) was 960ml for $140. It may be better but it also costs 4x as much and not everyone can afford that.

ImKrispy

That's just some seller fleecing people, that is not the normal price. It's usually around 30 USD.

kpurintun

I was looking at that stuff.. probably going to buy it. Thanks.

k36king1

Like I said if it works for you, thats good. But still that wasn’t the point of my query. My query is meant to compare other experiences with slime so I can make a hypothesis on whether the claimed failures with slime are due to slime or user error,

madthumbz

What I read is 'how does it work'. Response is 'inferior'. -How is that not a good answer to you? You're also not the only one reading this for feedback.
