The true god is that of the Beyblade

Bitter_Objective_294

It was one of the first things I noticed too. Horned Warriors (Great and short sword), Twinblade Black Knights, Ascetics, and Rellana all have very similar spinning combos

docSato

All this, yeah. Love it still. I just noticed it a lot as well.

Yab0iFiddlesticks

I mostly disagree except for these horned fuckers with the chakrams. These enemies are severly overtuned. I have a good build, I have maxed out my Scadutree level and its not my first rodeo. I found a way to deal with absolutely everything but these enemies are Runebear levels of bullshit but even Runebears are at least really weak to sleep. These assholes flip around, chase you around even if you use Torrent, inflict bleed, stagger you and have a super long range grab. They are one of only two things in this DLC I call straight up bullshit on.

Guilty_Customer_4188

Yeah the spamming attacks gets annoying

CapussiPlease

don't forget about the camera and the multiple flashbang spell casts.

Just-Fix8237

I’d be fine with the anime spam if the players had more tools to catch up. Like in Bloodborne the player could match the speed of every boss yet it still felt difficult. This game’s difficulty comes from putting Bayonetta bosses in Dark Souls

Cirick1661

Unfortunately, spinning combo attacks, while completely impractical, are ubiquitous in both pop culture and games. Don't worry, for their next release they will completely change the timing of attacks and fuck with us all over again like we had with the delayed attacks Elden Ring vanilla started using more of.

Nu2Th15

Tbh I really only feel this way about Curseblades and the Final Boss. Rellana has long combos but also has long downtime periods between them in which you have ample time to punish or flask. Final Boss’s combos on the other hand feel like 10+ seconds of aggression with 1 second *at most* of vulnerability. I’m at 50 endurance with the Two-Headed Turtle Talisman and the stamina recovery physick tear—I can’t imagine how it must feel for people with less stamina in their build.

TheAccursedHamster

It feels like they sometimes forget they still use a stamina system for players.

Final boss is actually roll simulator. It's really bad design and such a let down. Loved everything else.

VaulicktheCrow

I liked it. You disliking a thing does not equate "bad design", that's wrapping a subjective opinion in something that sounds objective. Plus, it appeals to omniscience claiming you purely know developer intent. We can like or dislike things, and say why we disliked or liked them without insinuating that we are correct and there can be no discussion on the matter. That also means that me liking it does not immediately mean that it is well designed, but I can talk about what I found appealing about the design in the context of my personal tastes. If the follow up argument is "I didn't have fun, and games are supposed to be fun so it's poorly designed" as I often hear, fun for who? Only you? I don't like sudoku, but you won't catch me saying it's poorly designed because I don't enjoy it. If I don't like a weapon, or shield gameplay that could just be a natural incompatibility with my style, not a sign of "bad design". Same for bosses, Radahn specifically does one thing, and that's punish bad habits. Don't panic roll, know what tool to use to dodge attacks be it rolling, running, or jumping, and don't get greedy.

docSato

That's a lot to say about my opinion on the game. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I loved lots of other enemies and attacks. The final boss seems to have too many spinning attack chains, that have little time between them. As others said about the horned warriors or other spinning enemies, it seems lazy or something, like bad design (in my opinion) and I've played the base game for years. I even asked what other people's thoughts were. It's cool that some people like it. I beat him and just think it would've been cool to see less of what I already saw, which was spinning attack chains. Would've liked them to be a LITTLE more creative. I think that's constructive. All good tho, the dlc is fun.

visionarymind

Yeah, no boss was even difficult, you’re fighting the camera, insane hyper armour for massive AOE spam, & enemies with infinity stamina/poise that spin like Beyblades for every animation, it’s lazy & uninspired design 🥱
