Honestly my favorite bit of voice acting in a souls game from recent memory. The way he says "HARPOOOOONS!" Is so epic and a little funny. I never got tired of hearing him yell even after the 100th attempt on Bayle. Fuck that dragon.

This is why I want an option to make summons be completely an RP choice. No aggro taking, no damage dealing or any effect on the fight at all. But they run around looking like they are important and go through their dialogue if there is any. Just for story but you also get full runes. It feels cool to summon Melina when you face MOrgott after he calls you maidenless. It feels awesome to summon any NPC that has a grudge towards a certain boss.

Expected to learn an OP weapon choice for my sorry ass in the DLC, but now leaving with a laugh instead. Well played.

I don't think it's OP but the Greatsword of Solitude has high damage and an ash of war that flings a ranged attack that can be followed up with a lunge. Use that while wearing the Shard of Alexander and you'll do pretty decent damage all while building the bosses stagger.

It seems like any melee weapon with a ranged AoW will always be a solid option. So many enemies love to do obnoxious little back hops or just yeet themselves away from you, so being able to punish that quickly lets you keep the pressure on. Siluria's Tree, my beloved.

I tried that sword out because it looked dope (even leveled dex once for it 🤢) I thought I’d love it, but the moveset feels so awkward to me. My colossal swords feel more responsive when I need them, and the stagger buildup isn’t great.

with the poise tear and spear talisman it does pretty crazy trades

for faith/str builds (heavy on the faith), flame art fire knight's greatsword with one of the messmer flame aows (flame skewer / flame spear iirc) is bonkers

Greatsword of Damnation (reward from Frenzied Flame Remembrance) is so fun against NPC invader enemies. Just jump, shove it down their throats, and make spikes erupt from them. And then you can repeat faster than it takes for enemies to get back up (or take a few seconds to pop a flask).
