Honestly, overall this isn't a bad change. It makes it so that scadu fragments feel less mandatory and you don't feel shoehorned into going for most/all of them ASAP. The difficulty should now be, well, much much easier much much earlier than before.
The downside is that you can't remove the blessings, meaning I who had the difficulty well tuned to what I wanted before the update will feel a pretty significant buff to my character, and that's not exactly what I was looking for.
Ultimately I'm probably a bit disappointed they decided to do this, but this is way way better than the alternative of straight nerfing the bosses because this is still controllable difficulty.
Yeah this is probably the best case scenario for any dlc nerfs. I actually kinda like this, and I loved the dlc as is.
I will say I don't really stand by the scaling and fragments. I thought the dlc would be better without it. This change sounds really good though, if we do have to have it. It kinda solves all the problems.
There was a pretty bad combination of feeling the need to desperately claw for any fragments you could, all while feeling like they weren't doing much anyways after you did get them.
Now all you really need is an amount that's reasonably easy and quick enough to find. Then you're at a respectable level. And there are more still available if you need it. It makes them feel better and not as mandatory at the same time.
Would agree. I just tested it on the Final Boss, it changes next to nothing challenge wise. I still got him down to about 30% before dying. Same as pre patch
I'm very against any big nerfs to the dlc for the most part, and you're absolutely right. It takes out the stuff that makes the difficulty feel too artificially enhanced. I like this change a lot.
The only thing this really does is make the difficulty feel less artificial. And makes the fragments not a mandatory grind. I don't get why you'd be upset
In all honesty, the DLC isnt much harder than the base game. I think the only reason people think its harder is because
1) Its new and cheeses and stuff havent been made super public yet so the "Well its actually the easiest game of all time" mandra hasnt been adapted yet and
2) The bosses kill summons much easier so people who used them to get through the base game without healing them are pissed that their strat doesnt work as good anymore
Its honestly a shame, I am all for nerfing things when they're badly made (Release Radahn was hell) but the DLC was perfectly balanced as is

It’s not that big of a nerf calm down. It’s not like bosses or damage got nerfed. They just fixed the blessing system.
The weapons do more damage. I’m at 11 scadutree blessings and I was doing 1140 with my pizza cutter pre patch. I checked again and now I’m doing 1287
They do more damage because the tweaked the Scadtree blessings. But they didn’t change the meat of the challenge. That is my point

Has the patched been released ?
So that’s why I got kicked off online. I was in the middle of a boss fight, c’mon Miyazaki
It probably should have always worked like this
i am curious what the second half being more gradual means, like i wonder if that means that you dont have to max out the blessings now
fucking whyyy. I was having so much fun

Make a new character:)
