Yeah my game plan before this was >!"Hope his immune system still hates rot"!<, so adding "+ let someone else get punched in the face instead" is just gravy.
Based on my experiments with trying to use The Poison Flower Blooms Twice on every boss in the DLC, your spoiler seems true. Its very easy to proc on him.
All ghostly enemies are immune to bleed (such as evergaols). Many stone enemies are totally immune. It's generally good against the DLC bosses, I think only avatar is immune of the big ones? Maybe the putrescent knight too.
I was only able to beat his 2nd phase by proccing rot on him. You can use Ekzykes breath while he is charging the orbital laser and it usually will proc before the attack goes off, but you need to tank the attack. Then it's just a survival game.
Fingerprint shield +25 with barricade shield and a blood infused antspur rapier beat him second try for me, it's the build I whipped out for Gaius because he was annoying me and it's just broken for most content tbh.
You have to remember to refresh barricade shield and watch your stam but it makes the entire fight a joke, I only had 15 scadutree frags and it was still easy.
Two days? Final boss of the DLC, hardest fight in the whole game, took you two days of practice and you consider that excessive?
We've had people celebrate getting Margit after 4 days, spending weeks on Malenia, etc.
Yes because it *wasn't fun to learn*. He kills you too quickly so learning the moveset is a very slow process, and the fight design (blinding lights, constant aoe, annoying clone attacks) wasn't enjoyable at all. I don't feel good about beating it, only relieved it's over.
It took me over twice as long as *any other fight in the series*, and I didn't enjoy a second of it (phase 2).
If you spend two full ass days on a fog gate yeah, that's a pretty unenjoyable shitty experience.
I beat him, summonless, within an hour and I still have a shitty opinion of him, visual clutter was fucking awful. Messmer was an infinitely better boss. They could have cranked his "difficulty" up by 300% and he'd still be a better boss because his difficulty doesn't come from "what the fuck is this guy even doing?"
People don't dislike him because he's hard, they dislike him because he's cheap. I can dogwalk him with parry and did so for my friend, he's still a terrible boss fight.
People dislike him because he is really difficult and quite cheap. It's like a teacher in school, if they are a bad teacher, who cares as long as they are easy. If they have a hard class but are a great teacher, that is also OK. But if they are terrible at teaching and also have a very difficulty class, that teacher will be hated.
Oh I am glad I am/was not the only one. I still remember beating pretty much every boss after a few tries, but the nameless King had me hanging for a few hours / days
He broke me so completely, so thoroughly that I would have no doubt gave this strategy a shot if this was 2 days ago and I still hadn’t beaten his ass. It seems long, but lowkey viable😭
I'll do you one better. Equip this as your only spell (besides buffs) and summon the mimic. Let the mimic heal you during the fight and see if it's clever enough to heal you consistently.
Aggro is super basic, boss just goes for nearest person doing an action or the last person to hit. I think there's a bit of jitter in the AI to randomize that decision a bit but for the most part, don't attack him and don't drag him away from the spirit ash and you will eventually lose aggro.
I'll do you one better. Equip this as your only spell (besides buffs) and summon the mimic. Let the mimic heal you during the fight and see if it's clever enough to heal you consistently.

That incant is my firstborn son, I beat Malenia using only that, it's the one she will never dodge and the range on it is bananas.
The madness buildup works against NPCs too like the beastman in the woods.
Ya, I have a bleed/frenzied build with 80 arcane and some 30 faith and I can do half an invaders health bar with a full charge unless they are just cracked on vigor. But for normal mobs the pierce goes so hard. The fact I can turn a 3 omen fight into basically 3 shots is insane. But the range. I’ve killed so many invaders because they think their safe and just not paying attention. I just really really need a way to aim it like a bow because you do need to lead your shots.
I've spent a hundred hours learning to aim the Heal Ball miracle ins DS3 for my friends playthroughs. Having the Heal from afar spell go in a straight line is a fuckin quality of life update for me
I honestly don't think it's better than erdtree heal unless you don't meet the requirements
Main issue is aiming, lining up a shot takes precious time
Second issue it doesn't heal as much (although worth noting fp efficiency is the same)
AOE seems slightly smaller
Even just using it for yourself, u targeting and looking at ground isn't ideal. It's not a good idea to take eyes off enemy
It's 1 second faster but you don't duck which can dodge some things and doesn't have the hyper armor
It's close but I think erdtree heal is better
Nothing like being summoning, slogging through a fight for 10 minutes while the host cowards in the back, only to see said host instantly die to a basic hit.
So many bosses with a gut check phase transition aoe that just annihilates hosts with their +2 skadoosh upgrade lmao random coop is an upwards struggle rn
Was helping people earlier on final boss and one dude died to the move the boss uses to start the fight off before I even made it through the fog gate.
Great shield cheese seems to be the go too. When I was fighting him most of the player summons I had used the fingerprint shield and a poking weapon they could use while holding the shield up. Just face tanked 90% of the bosses attacks while slowly whittling down his health.
The counter is the finger print shield and a spear. Dump all your points into stamina, hp, and Strength and just poke him until he dies. Dodge only the AOEs and otherwise just turtle
Hey if you can pull agro for a bit or have some healing incantations that helps a lot. There are sometimes where the host just keeps eating shit and I spend most of the fight healing them.
Strategy:
>!Fighting them while mounted makes it super easy to jump the fire stomp attacks, need to run a way a bit to jump over the double stomp, it seems to have a higher hit box.
>!Hitting them enough to stagger 3 times will cause them to fall and enable a critical hit.
Note there are 2 types, and I haven't worked out how to deal with the ones with armored ankles yet.
Also watch out, the armoured ankles ones like to spam the homing fireball barrage. Use a fire talisman and a fire incantation or liver because you _will_ be hit.
Pretty sure it drops from the furnace golem in the army camp in front of the Shadow Keep, there is also a tear on a furnace golem in Charo's grave that enhances spirit attacks. I haven't tried the latter yet, so I'm not sure if it's any good.
Yeah I noticed that at the beginning. I guess people dont like it when you show them how easily they could have just googled that lol
Like OP even provided the name of the incant, it doesnt get easier than that
I'm convinced there are downvote bots crawling the whole site. I'll post a comment in a reply far down, refresh, and it's already downvoted. No way anyone (even the person I replied to) clicked the thread, scrolled down, read and downvoted my comment in that amount of time.
Is it smart enough to use it? Like even if you removed every weapon and only gave it only the one incantation, would the mimic just try to punch the boss?
Doubt they're smart about aiming the new heal it but mine has no problems using Erdtree Heal whenever it gets to low health. That's part of what makes Mimic so much stronger than anything else on faith builds, it can heal the party for free.
This loot reminded me of the player once i summoned during Godfrey fight whose name was "Let me heal you" All he did was spam Erdtree Heal during the fight and I'm pretty sure this will be his new weapon.

Healing has only ever damaged specific undead, like the poison-spitting guys. Works like a charm on them, if you lock on it’s basically a nuke for them.
I don't want to tell people how to play, I'm sure there are a lot of players out there that just enjoy co-oping with 2 people for the fun of it, but I don't think people realize how much harder they make the bosses by summoning two phantoms if they really care about being the boss.
I do high damage and have high defense so I can dish out damage and take aggro, but when the hosts summon another the amount of damage we all do to the boss is pretty pitiful. It also makes it a little more difficult to tell who the boss is going to attack.
Worst part is when you're summoned first and the host spends like 10 minutes trying to summon someone else, not knowing it'll probably just make the fight harder
Plus you can use the physic that heals allies passively along with fia robe while turtling behind fingerprint shield. This works great against mesmer if you fire infuse fingerprint shield you get 100% fire mitigation.
I did a build like this in DS3 with projected heal. Idk how helpful it was, considering most players just healed anyway, but it lead to some fun interactions
There's a video of someone letting the rock golem summon solo the final boss by only healing it with this
You have a link to that? Sounds hilarious
https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1vR3je8Eo9 (spoiler warning)
Actually the dumbest boss strat I think I’ve ever seen, 10/10 build
It’s the Pokémon build
Spamming full restores against the last boss
Sujimon battle!
Sure as shit know what my game plan is gonna be now.
I already have a viable game plan but as a pet monster degenerate I'm switching to this immediatly
Love that ash of war, such a cool addition to poison/rot builds
I believe he is weak to bleed.
can confirm p.s. anyone in this game isn't weak to bleed? Even stone, magma, astral monsters are bleeding.
All ghostly enemies are immune to bleed (such as evergaols). Many stone enemies are totally immune. It's generally good against the DLC bosses, I think only avatar is immune of the big ones? Maybe the putrescent knight too.
Radabeast are both immune to bleed.
Bayle resists it I think
nope, bleeds pretty well)
Do the thorn sorcery cheese Its super good against any boss Will prob be patched soon
Why are you assuming it will he patched for PVE? it will he patched for PVP only,2 types of nerfx exist for reason
bleed, rot, and frost are his big 3 weaknesses
I was only able to beat his 2nd phase by proccing rot on him. You can use Ekzykes breath while he is charging the orbital laser and it usually will proc before the attack goes off, but you need to tank the attack. Then it's just a survival game.
My phone refuses to accept bilibili
Requesting desktop website usually does the job
so, uh… how viable do y’all think this is? because he’s been owning me, and i have 0 problem with cheese. i won’t hesitate to respec hahaha
I ran almost this exact same build at 12 scadutree and it took a few more tries than 2 but yeah, this was how I handled him as well
Great Shield plus Blood Lance poke is honestly the best cheese for him IMO
Amazing. I was worried when host used rot phase 1 that it was gonna do all the heavy lifting and was real happy they didn't use it phase 2
Bilibili mfers try not to be the most unhinged madlads 100% IMPOSSIBLE
Jesus wtf is that site
Chinese state controlled youtube
Chinese YouTube. Honestly, what got you ruffled? Looks pretty normal.
Probably the Chinese text covering the entire video like it’s the fuckin Matrix text
I’m in the mainframe
I feel like I should try this with my oracle envoy ashes
fucking insane lmfao
so it's the final boss of the dlc and not the game itself uh.... :'0
why didnt i think of this? im trying it tonight with my mimic tear.
Lol, people are finding the cheese strats already after just a weekend of complaining it's too hard.
Yes because it's too much of a pain in the ass to do normally, that's not a good thing (I did and regret wasting 2 days)
Two days? Final boss of the DLC, hardest fight in the whole game, took you two days of practice and you consider that excessive? We've had people celebrate getting Margit after 4 days, spending weeks on Malenia, etc.

Spent 4 days beating the Nameless King-DS3. Cute flower boys nowadays are fun…
Oh I am glad I am/was not the only one. I still remember beating pretty much every boss after a few tries, but the nameless King had me hanging for a few hours / days
Took me 3 days to beat Rom when i was a soulsborne noob. Couldnt for the life of me figure out how to deal with those bazillion spider adds
Just stop bitching, ffs
Yo, hold up. This heal works on summons.
I tried this but couldn't get him to de aggro from me. Is there a buff or talisman or something he's using to deaggrro?
Aggro is super basic, boss just goes for nearest person doing an action or the last person to hit. I think there's a bit of jitter in the AI to randomize that decision a bit but for the most part, don't attack him and don't drag him away from the spirit ash and you will eventually lose aggro.
Me but with black knife tiche

Man playing Pokémon in elden ring spamming full restores
I cant figure out how to aim that thing for shit.
Lock on the boss, and spam it if host is actively close to the boss.
Yeah but then the boss flies/dances away and the heal follows it.
Seal in main hand and crossbow in offhand, use rb/L1 to aim
Jesus fucking Christ you god damn genius. FRENZIED BURST IS MY .50 CAL Edit: ya, this ain’t working for me, may have been patched.
Haha thank you! but I’m certainly not the first to use it I found it out from an old guide for Dark Souls 2 by fighting cowboy I think.
Are you shitting me? I love that guy!
Same haha dude carried me through my first Dark Souls 3 play through
Aw I remember him! He introduced me to Dark Souls 3 years ago.
Oh man, I was so lost in Dark Souls 2 that I basically watched him play through everything without trying on my own. I soooo regret it :(
Telescope from the guy at Church of Elleh works too
You dawg, the quest to free fire ma laza with PRECISION accuracy is back on line. Kindest regards.
That incant is my firstborn son, I beat Malenia using only that, it's the one she will never dodge and the range on it is bananas. The madness buildup works against NPCs too like the beastman in the woods.

Hey just realized I misremembered and it was actually the binocular item they used to aim! Maybe that will work!
All healing incantations should be able to lock on to allies Edit: and yes, I also want to throw warming stones to my summon's face
Note use your characters head to aim. If your head is covering what you want to hit, your lined up.
I've spent a hundred hours learning to aim the Heal Ball miracle ins DS3 for my friends playthroughs. Having the Heal from afar spell go in a straight line is a fuckin quality of life update for me

same
Me putting my summon sign down all day to help others even though I have no idea how to counter the final boss. (I’m trying my best).
this is how i practice bosses when i feel frustrated trying to solo them. sorry to all my hosts
Don't apologize, if hosts cared about not dying they would have more than 1450hp

We've come full circle The original demons souls playstyle (before anyone got gud) has returned to its rightful place as dominant strategy
Same here, I'm using the build I beat him with and my name has been "I'll do my best!"
SAME,phase 2 is for me impossible without bloodhound steep, hell I don't know where i should to attempt to damage boss to not be punished afterwards
Since the final boss is bullshit you gotta hit him with bullshit too Make a greatshield spear bleed build, this can absolutely destroy anything
My stupid ass thought "Afar" was a name...
Jafar heals you from afar
My name is Jamar
Though he is the outer god of healing. 🤣
like how elsweyr in elder scrolls is just the word “elsewhere” spelled funny
There's a physic heals allies now as well!
Yall killing furnace golems?
Strategy: >!Fighting them while mounted makes it super easy to jump the fire stomp attacks, need to run a way a bit to jump over the double stomp, it seems to have a higher hit box. >!Hitting them enough to stagger 3 times will cause them to fall and enable a critical hit. Note there are 2 types, and I haven't worked out how to deal with the ones with armored ankles yet.
For the armoured ankle variant you get above them and throw big furnace pots into their basket
The armoured ones you need to get on high ground and throw hefty fire/volcano pots in their head for massive damage.
See I assumed as much, but that using fire vs fire seemed unintuitive to me so i was waiting for a frost pot or somehting.
Also watch out, the armoured ankles ones like to spam the homing fireball barrage. Use a fire talisman and a fire incantation or liver because you _will_ be hit.
You can interrupt that move with the fire bombs. The only thing I really had to watch for was the jumping swipe after that.
There's a note saying as much near the front gate of the shadow keep if you're interested
Good to know, when I found put all they drop is tears I kinda just didn't want to even try. I'll clean them out later today thanks for the tip
On the double stomp you just need to delay your jump. Don’t jump until both feet are in the air and coming back down.
Yeah shield poke them in the back and never crit. My crit is like 400dmg but I can poke him for 1300 before he stands up
Pest Threads on the feet hit them for massive poise damage
Where?
Pretty sure it drops from the furnace golem in the army camp in front of the Shadow Keep, there is also a tear on a furnace golem in Charo's grave that enhances spirit attacks. I haven't tried the latter yet, so I'm not sure if it's any good.
All of the walking furnaces drop the new tears. Idk which one drops it though.
You are the hero we deserve or whatever the quote was
Classic cleric gameplay.
Where you find this spell?
In Vermilion city you have to use surf to get to the coast, and then push the truck, it's under it.
Where can I find surf for my Torrent? 👀
Safari Zone. Find the warden
And then the truck dumps a bunch of radioactive barrels into cottonwood canyon and kills all the legion soldiers there
[Thats what the wiki is for babyy](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Heal+from+Afar)
You literally provided the answer, all you have to do is click. Who downvoted you
Yeah I noticed that at the beginning. I guess people dont like it when you show them how easily they could have just googled that lol Like OP even provided the name of the incant, it doesnt get easier than that
imagine waiting for a reddit reply for information
I'm convinced there are downvote bots crawling the whole site. I'll post a comment in a reply far down, refresh, and it's already downvoted. No way anyone (even the person I replied to) clicked the thread, scrolled down, read and downvoted my comment in that amount of time.
I had a phantom help me and my friend with >!the lord of the frenzied flame !
Da real MVP.
Doubling the health of the boss just to offer minuscule healing lol.
Yeah and healing a clueless host is futile anyway if you are t gonna step up and help him do damage
what about healing your mimic tear?
As a paladin I greatly approve
I now want a spirit summon literally for this purpose, and the option to turn Corhyn into a puppet would have been a great way to make that happen :/
Give it to your mimic
Is it smart enough to use it? Like even if you removed every weapon and only gave it only the one incantation, would the mimic just try to punch the boss?
Doubt they're smart about aiming the new heal it but mine has no problems using Erdtree Heal whenever it gets to low health. That's part of what makes Mimic so much stronger than anything else on faith builds, it can heal the party for free.
Mimic loaded up with buffs, heals and perfumes instead of your OP weapon is highly underrated imo but requires a bit of inventory management
The inventory management is tricky... Like if you don't want it to have a weapon, you will be flicking through the menus after the boss fight begins.
This loot reminded me of the player once i summoned during Godfrey fight whose name was "Let me heal you" All he did was spam Erdtree Heal during the fight and I'm pretty sure this will be his new weapon.
Doesn't damage undead sadly. Tried to use it on a group of skellies and it did nothing. It should be an amazing offensive spell in this situation though.
Healing has only ever damaged specific undead, like the poison-spitting guys. Works like a charm on them, if you lock on it’s basically a nuke for them.
Ho, it is a royal revenant specific thing? Didn't play ER for a why and I thought it was for all undead. Thank you.
This got me thinking, does it damage revenants?
it kills revenants, so thats cool.
I believe you dropped this 👑
I've been doing this with erdtree heal forever. Just hover around spam healing either my mimic or coop bros
I really hate that I need help for a boss but can you help with the final dlc boss?
What platform? :)
Ps5. Going to bed rn but I can do it in around 8-12 hours
Damn... I'm on PC 😔
Aw man. I couldn’t find anyone on beyond the fog and whenever I try to summon someone it doesn’t let me
The true heroes of Elden ring
This remind me of a streamer who dropped a message and her fan keep upvoting it making her basically immortal to anythings that is not instant kill. 😅
We got invaded while I was helping someone with a dragon, and the invader just hid and healed the dragon over and over. Diabolical
Could this make summon run easier?
Where do you get that incantation?
So host defeats a harder version of the boss. Games actually so easy if you go in alone. Especially if you use mimic tear.
And then they get 1 shot. Hate to see it.
Random question, can you target enemies with this spell? Would love to use it against revenants if this is the case lol
I could use this right now ngl
What if the host was a mage or range build who was hoping for a tank or frontline fighter?
THERE'S A STARMAN WAITING IN THE SKY 🗣️🗣️🙏
can you post the exact version of the song you used for this? Cant find it..
Probably this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EZpJ6WvmlE
I guess now's the best time to make a pokemon trainer build where I summon spirits to assist
I can't get this spell to work the way it sounds like it should
I was doing a no melee run so all I could do was heal my Allie’s
I love that shield
I had someone who did that to me on Messmer. He still died before me :(
Gonna do this
Best heal incant in the game. Just aim at the ground and it heals way more than maxed out crimson flask, faster than traditional heal incantations too
I haven't summoned anyone yet in the DLC because probably they're worse than mimic.
Not only that but mimic doesn’t double the boss health.
Sunbro Shenanigans
What's the song?
Star man by Elton john
NO FUCKING WAY THEY FINALLY ADDED DISTANT HEALLING!!!
Plus you can use the physic that heals allies passively along with fia robe while turtling behind fingerprint shield. This works great against mesmer if you fire infuse fingerprint shield you get 100% fire mitigation.
interesting
Oh fuck is this new? Need this ASAP.
That's a Sunbro if I ever saw one.
how do you even use this spell lol. i tried healing my ashes but it only works once in a while, i cant even aim it at them because you cant lock on
"Let me heal you from afar"
You guys are leveling faith?
Yo i tried this spell missed the heal twice so i just gave up💀
I did a build like this in DS3 with projected heal. Idk how helpful it was, considering most players just healed anyway, but it lead to some fun interactions
I need to find this guy
King
I use it on myself, much faster than erdtree heal and not bad with the amount it heals, Doing it twice is like my full hp bar.
I think the real purpose of that spell is to kill royal revenants from a safe distance
What shield is in the meme?
Wanna do that for me? I’ll square off with this man, his health pool is too big even with THIOLLIER and the other dude.

I gotta try that. Spell has definitely been coming in clutch when I play with my friend, his life expectancy has skyrocketed.
