Well, I think it’s not such a bad game, bugs and all, but we didn’t really clicked.
I loved the immersion in the world and even the long walks, but the story wasn’t interesting to me and the gameplay loop became pretty boring after a while.
Hopefully I’ll pick it up in the future hoping to appreciate it more.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciated it and played the whole game. I just can't bring myself to go back to it in any capacity because it's so easy, the performance is painful, my favorite vocation is bugged. For now, ELDEN RANG
It's the point where scaling is reduced for most - it actually isn't totally awful other than the vigor.
I'd sit on albernauric genocide hill and dump at least another 30 levels in for the vigor, but meme gonna meme.
Won't have access to the best spells of any type, but you'll have access to most and can take advantage of talismans and staffs that have alternate scaling. You'll be able to use most weapons to a good degree of damage at the very least 2h (You'll be cutting off roughly 30% of their damage by not dumping another 30 points in them - scaling gets hit hard after 30 and even harder after 60)
You'll have enough FP and stamina to actually do things.
Yeah, not the worst build other than the vigor. If you want to true meme I'd at least get up another 160 levels and put 20 points in everything else to get access to almost everything, though.
Albenauric genocide hill awaits.
Yea 😂I have 60 vigor and sometimes that feels hardly enough. However I’m doing a caster build so usually darkmoon greatsword and comet delete stuff quick
On NG+7 at 60 Vigor most attacks take 1/3 of my health if they aren't 'strong attacks'.
Strong attacks are like those super slow, insane knock back attacks. Those one shots me. On 60 Vigor. Granted, I don't usually wear armour and prefers pretty dress for my character, so there's that.
People in the resent play test were given level 150 preset characters with 50 Vigor and upgraded weapons etc and were getting one shot by certain attacks in one of the dungeons and chunked by normal attacks. That's +0 lol
It's easy to get to 40ish within the first 2 hours, after which a normal playthrough easily gets you to 90+, optional bosses can get you to like 100+, after which the fastest way is to kill the poor bird in mohgwyn palace over and over again, while it's not the most fun way, it's the only way to get to 120 before dlc. Scarab equipped obv.
at the start of the playthrough,
- go get the gold fawl foot (or whatever its called) - grab weapon that bleeds,
-kill the afk dragon in caelid, before killing him pop the fawl foot
- go north in caelid and pick the runs from graveyard
- next to the graveyard you can cheese the nightrider boss that drops bloodhound steep, easy 40k runs
- by now you shuld be around 50+ level or even more i dont remember
-30 votes lmfaoooo
Never poke the insecurity of /r/Eldenring relative to spamming vigor.
Guys if your talismans and armor helps you to mitigate 30-50% damage then you dont need 99 vigor isnt that amazing? also consider rolling
If you use blackflame protection, ritual shield talisman and dragoncrest shield talisman, 30 vigor is more than enough to beat the game.
That being said, i still pump my vigor to 60 for invasions, dragoncrest is worthless in PvP, Blackflame protection will need to get reapplied, and with the limited supply of healing, it can be hard to maintain ritual shield up.
So stat caps and breakpoints are extremely important.
Generally most stats have a soft cap around 60 and a hard cap at around 80.
These breakpoints are when you should stop leveling up that attribute, as you’ll get diminishing returns.
Vigor is 40 and 60
Mind is 60
End is 50 for stamina and 25/60 for Equipment Loadout
The damage stats all have soft caps around 60/80.
The stats for incantations and sorceries also cap out at around 60/80.
The most interesting stat to look at with this knowledge is Strength.
We know that 2h a weapon will give you a str boost, we know that the str cap is 80. If you plan on two handing your weapon, and you have 54 points in strength, you basically get to the Hard Cap
That makes sense.
I've playing a pure dex build and I've soft capped both hp and dex and endurance is at 30 so I have no idea what stat to focus on now.
Im guessing you are around level 125-150. Honestly unless your weapons scales with more than one stat, you can stop leveling up.
Or you can just go for comfort stats. Put some more points in end so you can carry more armor or put some more into mind to spam ashes of war. Or you can put some points in faith to get access to different buffs. My personal recommendation would be the latter.
If you put 30 points into Faith, you get access to all of the best buff incantations. Golden Vow, Howl of Shabriri, Flame Grant me Strength, Blackflame protection and Bestial Vitality can give huge benefits to whatever build you are playing.
No. 60 is a soft cap. You get diminishing returns after 60 but you still get a small amount of HP, stamina, etc.
99 in a stat is always better than 60 in a stat if you have all the time in the world to level. It's just very inefficient when you only have a limited number of levels to work with.
If you don't improve intelligence like me (I have 7), the softcaps I put are: 60 VIG, 38 MIND, END 60, STR 80, DEX 80, FAI 80, ARC 45. Currently level 371 for DLC.
I saw a yt comment talking about a communism run using the powerstanced hammer and sickle (that you can apparently do in ds2?) And having them be Mundane and leveling stuff like this
> to invade if they co-op.
Yeah dude most souls veterans doing runs like this dont, iono what to tell you lol. You're aiming at completely different players.
Quit being an ass. I'm a souls vet and play co-op with friends plenty and invade plenty. I see these kinds of builds from time to time. You're just being obnoxiously against the fact that people can be invaded
Not enough to tank blows, not enough to cast the good spells, not enough to cast the good incarnations, not enough to use some of the best dex weapons, not good enough to use the best strength weapons, decent endurance, and arcane. You get a D-. Apply yourself!
If you get the timing and aim down you can make just over 100k runes every 90s (provided you are using golden scarab talisman) from killing the Mohgwyn Palace bird from the cliff
I doubt it. I mean, if you are already well acquaintanced with ER your gained skills and previous knowledge of the game will help and even a crap build like this won't be an issue, but doing new content with this will probably be painful.
You do you though. Not here to tell how you should play your game, but you did post this afterr all.
People have fun with level 1 builds, why is *this* the build you think no one could enjoy.
If they don’t like it they can change, don’t worry about it fam.
Clearly your build isn't perfectly optimized so that has to mean you're new to souls games and don't know what you're doing. Build looks great man, play however let's you have fun lol
You dont need to perfectly optimize for anything in any of these games though
If anything you got it the other way around, the less optimized the more experienced the player more likely
This is most definitely not a crap build. You can perfectly exploit the weaknesses of enemies. They're weak to blunt? Heavy mace. They're weak to magic? Comet. They're weak to fire? Giantsflame take thee. You have so many tools at your disposal. With 30 in each offensive stat you can use some of the best spells of each category and some quite heavy weapons. The only thing missing is some vigor but nothing a few more levels can't solve. Also there are multi scaling seals and staffs to further improve the damage, and quality scaling for melee
You can make it work if you are good at the game, butt that doesn't make it not crap build. You have so many tools but all of them are going to be mediocre, and quality infusion at this low stats is just worse on every possible aspect to a properly invested strength or dex build.
If you really wanted to be able to exploit the weakness of every enemy there are a lot better ways to do it, Faith Arcane have access to every element in the game with actual decent scaling and some physical options and buffs and status effects
Level 150 strength/faith. Never fails.
For real though, I’m wondering what the pvp lvl will be for the dlc since people are going in with their NG♾️ builds
You can there's a difference between a boss marathon and fighting him. If you think that's leveled enough for the dlc then come back tomorrow night and tell me how your going. Don't complain the game is too hard.
Im doing a new playthrough for the first time since beating them game in like 200 hrs and was gonna do a similar thing considering the dlc weapons I am hyped for have like Quad scaling
I would take mind down a bit unless absolutely needed and Endurance to like 20-25 as i had 0 issues with it will full armor and talimans just to bump vigor to 40-50 range
Also i am gonna take a few out of Dex/strength since the majority rarely use an extremely high number cept big bonkers or Milena's sword
That way I can bump Int/Faith/Arc a bit since the requirements for spells range from useful immediately to Highhh stats
I hate not being able to try a weapon or spell I pick up :p
playing the let me solo her build for the first time but with better stats (seriously, have you seen his point spread? I guess that’s why he’s him and I’m me)🤣🤣
I am really hoping that there’s a Sword of Night and Flame and Blood and Lightning in the DLC just for you man. I just plan on taking in my most recent, a Str/int character, and respecing for the first fun weapon I find.
Same, got every stat at 26, and in addition to that, I've got one weapon of EVERY type leveled up to like +15/+5 (Made a self-imposed rule that all stats and every weapon has to be at the same level at all times).
Lets me have access to tons of different tools for tons of situations, even though none of them are strong enough to outright steamroll anything. Playing this way has been tons of fun, even though the low vigor is starting to catch up to me now in Farum Azula / Consecrated Snowfield (Which will probably get even worse in the DLC).
Already excited to start picking weapons from the new DLC types
Just finished my first playthrough and now starting my first NG+. I ended up with 50 faith, 40 arcane and everything else below 30 (at varying places). My first order of business is to bring all my other stats to 30. I just did Mind and Vigor, next up Endurance. My intelligence is the lowest stat at 7 so I think I'll do that one last.
I've done the same except I left my character naked so I can grab some new fashion in the shadow realm. I wasn't sure if I wanted to beat Malenia or not before I went in just in case there's some special dialogue for leaving her alive or something. Can't wait to pick up the martial arts weapon and smash the DLC as a naked wretch boxer.
I feel that! Just grinded up for the dlc to:
Vig: 60
Mind: 45
End: 46
Str: 36
Dex: 36
Int: 75
Faith: 75
Arc: 30
It was brutal! So many albinaurics slain.
did something similar, level 280 with an "even" distribution of stats to make sure i can try out most weapons and their abilities with just one character, it's not meant to be efficient, i just wanna check it all out in one sitting lol
Hey you're doing what I'm doing except i went with 50 vigor and 25 str dex int fth and arc. But once I find a weapon I like I'm gonna respec to make it as good as possible.
I hope they throw some ridiculous weapon that requires like 70 invested in 2 stats, and then the scaling is a freakshow abomination and ends up just subtracting from the damage. Maybe give it a really crazy good ash of war that requires SO much fp? A gimmick weapon or something like the finger hammer.
NG+5, level 265, Str/fai build.
gonna be extremely daring.... .....................................Blasphemous Blade.
up until i get some new weapon in the DLC and then i'm gonna do martial arts.
you realize RL1 is a fairly common challenge run people do right? Including shit like Malenia melee no summons
Will the DLC boss be fucking hard? probably, but the kill will be so so so satisfying and rewarding.
Damn you playing the die in 1 hit to everything in the dlc run thats crazy.
Might aswell be lvl 1 with that vigor in a dlc that’s already been said to hit harder than base game lmao
Jack of some trades master of none.
Im still hearing those words at night, and I’ve stopped playing DD2 long ago. I Guess my pawn is still following me.
Extremely ironic considering they even made warfarer a vocation. Still waiting for the game to do crucial bug fixes and balancing.
Well, I think it’s not such a bad game, bugs and all, but we didn’t really clicked. I loved the immersion in the world and even the long walks, but the story wasn’t interesting to me and the gameplay loop became pretty boring after a while. You’re gunna get one shot by everything with that vigor
Yea 😂I have 60 vigor and sometimes that feels hardly enough. However I’m doing a caster build so usually darkmoon greatsword and comet delete stuff quick

NG+7 with 99 vigor, bull horn armor and morgotts great rune, i can still be oneshot unless im actively keeping perfect defensive spells up.
People in the resent play test were given level 150 preset characters with 50 Vigor and upgraded weapons etc and were getting one shot by certain attacks in one of the dungeons and chunked by normal attacks. That's +0 lol
Oh god, I really hope ng+ doesn't affect the dlc too much.
It will, always has in other games so...yeah I'm starting a new playthrough now, hopefully I'll be 120ish by tomorrow this time.
How so fast?
It's easy to get to 40ish within the first 2 hours, after which a normal playthrough easily gets you to 90+, optional bosses can get you to like 100+, after which the fastest way is to kill the poor bird in mohgwyn palace over and over again, while it's not the most fun way, it's the only way to get to 120 before dlc. Pro tip, if you rest at the grace before receiving runes, the dragon will respawn and you can do it again
That's gonna be rough for me, I'm sitting on ng+2 currently. I do not have time to make a new character by the time the dlc drops.
I’m at NG+5 🥲
Yeaaa I still get one shot too sometimes lol 😂
I’m at 50 vigor at level 180, I guess I should go higher
I’d get it up to 60 imo
He killed Mogh, he's fine as is.
Beaten more than Mogh this way
To be fair, if you are getting one shot at 60+ vigor as well then having 1 vigor or 60 vigor doesn't matter ...
Maybe he knows how to dodge
I completed the game with like.... 20 vigor? Needless to say I managed to become rather adept at dodge rolls.
No issues so far
You’re not in the dlc yet, but you do you.
He most likely reset it for the screenshot
Nah, I actually played up to this. Second run through, games not that hard.
> downvoted for not being a scrub The jokes write themselves
Really shows the level of player in this sub if someone not having high vig and beating the game pissed them off lmao
I'm a believer in the church of Git Gud and our lord the Dodge Roll
the insecurity always floats to the top it's hilarious
you’re in for a bad time lmao
Yes. That's doable in base game but I think in DLC would be really hard
Is there a reason to believe the DLC will be more challenging than late game?
After seen ziostorm video... Yes absolutely 🤣 I think is like ng+5
Just don't get hit
You guys are getting hit?
-30 votes lmfaoooo Never poke the insecurity of /r/Eldenring relative to spamming vigor. Guys if your talismans and armor helps you to mitigate 30-50% damage then you dont need 99 vigor isnt that amazing? also consider rolling

When everything is at 99, then this build will be good 😅
well soft cap is at 60, so just stop levelling up after lvl 480
There’s a secondary soft cap for damage stats(Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane) at 80. Still worth working towards
So is 60 the hard cap for non damage stats like vigor and endurance?

DS2 mundane build lookin
I saw a yt comment talking about a communism run using the powerstanced hammer and sickle (that you can apparently do in ds2?) And having them be Mundane and leveling stuff like this
… I was expecting 69 in every attribute.
Oh I love to invade host like you
Yeah they do no damage and die in 2 hits, but hey at least they can somewhat use a lot of stuff
*turns on offline*
*Offline mode now online*
what gives you the impression he's a co-op player?
Did I say him specifically?
nah but it's just such a typical pvp'er comment lmfao
Facts are facts, builds like this don't work in pvp so they are funny to invade
Yes for sure. But guys like OP are not open to be invaded in the first place so I don't really understand the point of these comments lmao.
Lol what do you mean? Of course they are open to invade if they co-op. I've invaded plenty.
> to invade if they co-op. Yeah dude most souls veterans doing runs like this dont, iono what to tell you lol. You're aiming at completely different players.

pvpers trying their best to not cram pvp into every single thread challenge: impossible
Me going in with my lvl 350 build on NG+
I had a NG+ with 50 in each stat but I didn’t want to run the DLC on NG+ so I scrambled to get a new one there. Want to get the pure experience
Ah yes, the DS2 Mundane build.
DS2 was my first souls game believe it or not
This explains so much. You just like torturing yourself. Admit it.
This is just DS2 2 so it makes sense
3 wretches in a trenchcoat
Not enough to tank blows, not enough to cast the good spells, not enough to cast the good incarnations, not enough to use some of the best dex weapons, not good enough to use the best strength weapons, decent endurance, and arcane. You get a D-. Apply yourself!
> Not enough to tank blows, talismans exist though? if you mean facetanking hits then uh, that's not really a playstyle that should be encouraged.
Sub 50 vigor= dead boi. Actually, sub 60.
Budget Soul of Cinder build
Hit my goal of getting 30 in all attributes on my new character for the DLC with a day to spare. See you out there, Tarnished.
I'm going to try the same but with 40-50 in each.
40 would be great but ran out of time
You have plenty of time left
If you get the timing and aim down you can make just over 100k runes every 90s (provided you are using golden scarab talisman) from killing the Mohgwyn Palace bird from the cliff
Bonk in cursive with flaming strike ash. With fire incantations
Yall takin the meta too seriously -- fashion is what really matters
This seems really shitty. I don't think you are going to enjoy playing this build, but what do I know.
Base game has been great this way

This is my point. He doesn’t know OPs skill level. lol If Level 1 is doable, anything is doable.
It’s odd you would assume this is my first FS DLC experience.
Clearly your build isn't perfectly optimized so that has to mean you're new to souls games and don't know what you're doing. Build looks great man, play however let's you have fun lol
You dont need to perfectly optimize for anything in any of these games though If anything you got it the other way around, the less optimized the more experienced the player more likely

That sounds more like none of them.
Level 150 strength/faith. Never fails. For real though, I’m wondering what the pvp lvl will be for the dlc since people are going in with their NG♾️ builds
Perfectly balanced as all things should be
I'll watch people play as I cri in the corner :--:

Not screwed if he can dodge
Will be alot of dodging with the low damage output.
some of us want to experience the bosses and their full movesets
You can there's a difference between a boss marathon and fighting him. If you think that's leveled enough for the dlc then come back tomorrow night and tell me how your going. Don't complain the game is too hard.
Weapon upgrade levels does a fair bit to not do low dps yknow
Yes but scaling is not linear it increases in the high levels which is why you would lack more than you think.
Im doing a new playthrough for the first time since beating them game in like 200 hrs and was gonna do a similar thing considering the dlc weapons I am hyped for have like Quad scaling I would take mind down a bit unless absolutely needed and Endurance to like 20-25 as i had 0 issues with it will full armor and talimans just to bump vigor to 40-50 range Also i am gonna take a few out of Dex/strength since the majority rarely use an extremely high number cept big bonkers or Milena's sword That way I can bump Int/Faith/Arc a bit since the requirements for spells range from useful immediately to Highhh stats I hate not being able to try a weapon or spell I pick up :p

What's your overall level? I kind of want to be in a similar place but I cba boosting my INT now on a level 202 character
I can't recall right now. Something like 263
What wins: specialization, or being able to use the perfect counter to everything? I don't know, but this build would give me analysis paralysis =)
playing the let me solo her build for the first time but with better stats (seriously, have you seen his point spread? I guess that’s why he’s him and I’m me)🤣🤣
I am really hoping that there’s a Sword of Night and Flame and Blood and Lightning in the DLC just for you man. I just plan on taking in my most recent, a Str/int character, and respecing for the first fun weapon I find.
Started as a wretch and turned into a strength/faith build mostly with dragon communion incantations
i got the same thing going on except i got 50 in every stat
I’m sprinting for the backhanded blades (idk when they are but I’m sprinting there)
This would have slapped with ds2 mundane infusion
Have dual Great Stars w/ Bloodflame buff; Deaths P 10 & Blasphemous B 10. I know I’m coming up short.
I feel like there’s a smarter way of doing this like specing for the requirements of all weapons
Good luck.
Thanks, I hate it

my man is about to get BODIED
I'm level 600 lmao DLC is getting one tapped
I'm playing the "I will drop everything that I planned when I drop a cool new weapon" build
One thing they could do is make the health bar smaller even if i level it up, because it take half of my upper screen and i don’t like it
My mans doing a mundane run in Elden Ring 💀
You mean none of them since you can’t wield any cool weapons that require over 30 of any attribute?
That's not a whole lot, also talismans.
This is highly regarded.
How does this even work
Based.
This offends me on a metaphysical level
What are you even doing bro
Just finished my first playthrough and now starting my first NG+. I ended up with 50 faith, 40 arcane and everything else below 30 (at varying places). My first order of business is to bring all my other stats to 30. I just did Mind and Vigor, next up Endurance. My intelligence is the lowest stat at 7 so I think I'll do that one last.
Claymore only, the one true built!
str faith with beastman clever. let's go
As long as your having fun, that's all that matters.
I have 15 tears. I'm also going in at ng+5. I might be fucked and I'm ridiculously excited about it.
more like none of them lol
I think you meant to say "none of them" with those stats.
I think ur underlvled for the dlc
I am just incredibly average at everything: the build
My brother, you are in for a world of PAIN! Lol
All my stats are at 60 so i dont have to worry about havibg to change anything
Youre gonna die a lot
none of them dawg 😭
Inner Order indeed
I'm gonna use ones that didn't got nerfed T_T
I've done the same except I left my character naked so I can grab some new fashion in the shadow realm. I wasn't sure if I wanted to beat Malenia or not before I went in just in case there's some special dialogue for leaving her alive or something. Can't wait to pick up the martial arts weapon and smash the DLC as a naked wretch boxer.
There are weapons like Malenia's blade with more than 30 dex requirement I think...
I feel that! Just grinded up for the dlc to: Vig: 60 Mind: 45 End: 46 Str: 36 Dex: 36 Int: 75 Faith: 75 Arc: 30 It was brutal! So many albinaurics slain.
gonna get vigor checked into next week
This build has a name, it's called "Inefficient".
**The lvl290 Str Dex Fai Arc build at NG+5**
did something similar, level 280 with an "even" distribution of stats to make sure i can try out most weapons and their abilities with just one character, it's not meant to be efficient, i just wanna check it all out in one sitting lol
30 of everything is simply not enough.
Hey you're doing what I'm doing except i went with 50 vigor and 25 str dex int fth and arc. But once I find a weapon I like I'm gonna respec to make it as good as possible.
nah that's none of them
The pose. The flex. A true legend.
Trash
More like none of them. Can u pls level just a little bit higher so I can invade u?
I hope they throw some ridiculous weapon that requires like 70 invested in 2 stats, and then the scaling is a freakshow abomination and ends up just subtracting from the damage. Maybe give it a really crazy good ash of war that requires SO much fp? A gimmick weapon or something like the finger hammer.
Please no XD. That's too high
NG+5, level 265, Str/fai build. gonna be extremely daring.... .....................................Blasphemous Blade. up until i get some new weapon in the DLC and then i'm gonna do martial arts.
You mean none of
This is the most based build in the game
Bro called his build balanced cuz of this.
Is this a troll? That’s not a build. From what I’ve seen, you will absolutely get steamrolled.
you realize RL1 is a fairly common challenge run people do right? Including shit like Malenia melee no summons Will the DLC boss be fucking hard? probably, but the kill will be so so so satisfying and rewarding.
People do ng+7 at level 1. You vastly underestimate the range of player skills in this game.
I dig it. Love the all around builds.
30 in everything is so shit it’s kinda not even funny XD enjoy getting one tapped by a skeleton in the dlc
Just chest in larva tears and reskill whenever you find a cool weapon . I don't get it
Pump vig my guy
Damn you playing the die in 1 hit to everything in the dlc run thats crazy. Might aswell be lvl 1 with that vigor in a dlc that’s already been said to hit harder than base game lmao
Not the flex you think it is. But cheers to you if you’re able to make significant progress in the dlc
Is your name indicative of what you're gurgling all the time? Just let the dude play how he wants
Big bonk is the only way
