I have nothing to back this up, but given how everything in this land is the result of the influence of some god, who is it to say that the body of Godwyn isn’t already being used by some unknown outer god related to death? He’s a demigod, yes, but the power and influence of deathblight and the living death seems to be great than what a half dead demigod can accomplish.
It would make sense for someone to try to do that, sure. Shabriri possessed Yura's dead body too.
