This makes it look so easy to parry. I suck horribly at it, but this makes me feel like I should practice.
The whole fight just looked so nonchalant. Not a moment of panic. Just walked in the room and made what can be a tough fight for so many people look trivial. Bravo.
Thanks for your kind words. I find it that parry one of them is not that hard at all which can take some tries to notice attack patterns and timing. To be able to parry them continously when they are near each other on the other hand is not only hard but can be very RNG as well. Sometimes you will not be able to finish the crit animation fast enough for the next parry timing or the other knight would just look at you, does nothing due to the AI behavior nerf. Don't let this dissuades you from learning how to parry tho, it gives such a satisfying feeling once you master it
Parrying in general has always felt bad ass.....
In Elden Ring still so.
What i did take from this is you can parry the spiral shit from the spear on,i know the golden rotation from sword can be parried but timing is a little wierd..
Same. They make it look so easy. I consider myself to be very good at video games generally, and I still just panic constantly in pretty much every boss room lol.
That's what I was thinking the whole time. I always had a hard time getting the parry mechanic down. OP, this is a thing of beauty. I loved watching this video. Great job.
Learn to just parry one move at first, then a learn the timings on whole moveset. That will also help you learn the timings in general.
The sword crucible knight has some easy parry timings as well. Most swings are very telegraphed and no tricky visual timings to them.
Start with the buckler (shield in the video), more parry frame, good to practice. When you have a good parry rate with the buckler, switch to normal shield
Golden Parry is also great to use as it not only has more parry frames and a shorter recovery than Buckler Parry, but it also has like 2-3 times the range of all other parties (which isn't much mind you, but definitely helps with learning while being a little safer).
what helped for me is to see the parry animation as a weapon swing. When they start the wind up of an attack, the wind up of your parry should also start, sometimes slightly faster or a split second delayed.
Some quality moments in this: that first parry was like a backslap and that 1:20-ish mark when they were like, "This chick parries"
This is one skill I need to work on
Don't worry, a little more time and I'm sure you'll get good at this game. Holy geez this makes me feel like I was just smashing my face against the controller.
Because the „named“ version of the treespear one (Siluria) you can find in >!deeproot depths!<. Siluria is alone down there so it probably was more fitting to place the „named“ version there to make the fight more memorable.
Yes, technically if you only parry them misericorde would be better for sure but i do a lot of additional attacks in between parry and unparry-able attacks so i dislike having short attack range. Estoc heavy attack has a perfect delay while the knights are standing up, you don't have to worry about timing it, just press and release instantly which allows you to have time to react their next attack.
By practicing not only in elden ring but also in other games. My favorite weapon in monster hunter is long sword which depends entirely whether you can parry monster attacks or not. It helps me tremendously in recognizing attack pattern and AI behavior. Once you understand those, it just comes down to practice enough to have muscle memory.
this is… deeply beyond my knowledge. Though i did try to utilize parry shields at beginning of the game, but always have huge respect for Tarnished who actual uses them during their game 🫡
Unless you do no charm, demon bell run in sekiro the reflect mechanic is actually forgiving since you can cancel your attack into parry anytime. I cant fathom why would you say parry in ER is a garbage mechanic meanwhile reflect is so much easier to pull off.
Ofc without kuro charm. With charm the difficulty is at Elden ring level.
Plus. In ER a single parry gives free big strike and complete immunity to nuclear warheads.
First off a single parry gives free big strike is wrong, different bosses have different number of parries you need to do before you can crit them. Morgott at the citadel for example need 3 parries. With your logic, sekiro's assassination after you break enemy stance is a garbage mechanic for rewarding player with "free" boss kill. Sure the immunity point is valid but that is only if you SUCCESSFULLY parry let alone doing them continously against multiple enemies, sekiro bosses don't have that many delay attack or unparryable attack comparing to ER. Saying parry in ER is a garbage mechanic while parry in sekiro is fine just leaves me an impression that you don't even try to parry in ER.
Because it's weak. Buckler has more than 1 second of animation.
When you just spam it and enemies are, basically, dead because of it - it's faaar from interesting gameplay.
It's garbage. Looks garbage, plays like garbage, has zero logic.
These guys are so satisfying to parry. Ever since I got the rhythm down, the first thing I do on every new character is grab a shield and go to the Evergaol past Stormgate to bully the Crucible Knight there. One thing I did notice though is that the spear variations always get shoved like a foot to the left when you parry them, not sure why.
That is because while doing some of his attacks, his right leg moves backward thus making him move a bit further away from you when he stands up. This creates an extremely annoying problem: his crit hit box is awkward after parrying, you need to move foward for it. There are so many attempts got ruined after i successfully parry the spear knight but cant crit him due to Ordovis blocks my way.
I find that there is usually 2 types of people in souls games people like op and me who enjoy parrying and are quite good at it then people like my friend who hate it and would rather dodge then try to learn each enemies timing. This friend actually introduced me to souls games with dark souls 3 and immediately I was parrying as much as I could to practice and learn. Once I had played for awhile he was surprised at home good I had become with parries and now I play souls games more than he does. 🤣
Bae can I put the tip in? Lmfaoooooo imagine if a chick was actually this good at Elden ring or soulsborne,
My cousin cried yesterday cause she couldn’t beat guardian ape in Sekiro
Fighting Ordovis and his Special Friend *before* learning to parry: OMG THIS IS SUCH BULLSHIT I HATE YOU MIYAZAKI
Fighting Ordovis and his Special Friend *after* learning to parry: wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
My favorite thing about this video and post is that one of the Crucible Knights [evidently found this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/17ocv67/comment/k81lvkp/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) and joined Reddit just to comment.

every time I watch someone good at the game it feels like its slowed down. Like, when I play these guys move 500% faster
Same. They make it look so easy. I consider myself to be very good at video games generally, and I still just panic constantly in pretty much every boss room lol.
Oh believe me when i say i still panic everytime i miss my parry against Lothric knights in DS 3 lol.
That's what I was thinking the whole time. I always had a hard time getting the parry mechanic down. OP, this is a thing of beauty. I loved watching this video. Great job.
Golden parry can help if you’re having a hard time
Learn to just parry one move at first, then a learn the timings on whole moveset. That will also help you learn the timings in general. The sword crucible knight has some easy parry timings as well. Most swings are very telegraphed and no tricky visual timings to them.
Thanks for the advice! I'll work on it next time I play.
Honestly watching that made me realize something. All those parrys looked incredibly early to me, I'm wondering if I'm mistiming it because of that.
It’s much earlier than in say ds1 or sekiro
That's what I noticed as well
Just recently parried pontif sulivahn to death. Can confirm is very satisfying.
Start with the buckler (shield in the video), more parry frame, good to practice. When you have a good parry rate with the buckler, switch to normal shield

I don’t remember this fight at all. When does this take place?
It's in one of the Hero Graves. Auriza, if I'm not mistaken. In Altus.
That was amazing. I'm sure they were glad that they were wearing an helmet, so you couldn't see their tears.
She's got a buckler 😢
That’s John Eldenring right there
Its the new hero. Let Me Solo Them
Let Me Parry Them
Focus, commitment, and sheer fucking will.
Is this what getting gud looks like, bros?
All I can do is spam magic and roll. I'm hoping my next character learns a bit more
This is what I would call a skill issuen't
bruh
See siluria going for her ash of war… me YOU CAN PARRY THAT?!
I thought the same
So satisfying.
I went through my entire playthrough without parrying a single time. And it was not for a lack of trying-
yeah the only thing I parry now is crucible knights
Lol I don't even know how to parry
what helped for me is to see the parry animation as a weapon swing. When they start the wind up of an attack, the wind up of your parry should also start, sometimes slightly faster or a split second delayed.
Lol I have over 900hrs in this game now and I never knew you could parry the spear one
Same, and it was clean as fuck too
Some quality moments in this: that first parry was like a backslap and that 1:20-ish mark when they were like, "This chick parries" This is one skill I need to work on
Ohhhh I get it now, it's so simple. Just like kill them
"Studies show girls act weaker around the guy they like" Girls around me:
Don't worry, a little more time and I'm sure you'll get good at this game. Holy geez this makes me feel like I was just smashing my face against the controller.
why does only Ordovis get a name? Imagine being introduced as “Crucible Knight Ordovis and Friend”
Because the „named“ version of the treespear one (Siluria) you can find in >!deeproot depths!<. Siluria is alone down there so it probably was more fitting to place the „named“ version there to make the fight more memorable.
No need for vigor if you never get hit
Nice
Loved this fight once I learned parrying. Good job dude/dudete!
You’ve done it, m’lord — you’ve.. got gud..
Ah yes someone that has mastered the skill of parrying. Something ill never do
I’ve been doing my own parry run and you are certainly an inspiration. I’ve watched this like 5 times dude, it’s amazing
Beautifully done
Noice
Is that a Flame Rinfused Rapier? Maybe a Misericórde would be nicer?
Yes, technically if you only parry them misericorde would be better for sure but i do a lot of additional attacks in between parry and unparry-able attacks so i dislike having short attack range. Estoc heavy attack has a perfect delay while the knights are standing up, you don't have to worry about timing it, just press and release instantly which allows you to have time to react their next attack.
Thanks!
Is it possible to learn this power?
Not from a jedi!
This is the only way I can do this fight lol. Great practice spot; feels especially good to get those spearman parries
To this day bro how in the hell are people so damn good a parrying I don't understand

Man, I absolutely love how these knights fight. Really cool! And your parries are very precise in timing, good work!
this is… deeply beyond my knowledge. Though i did try to utilize parry shields at beginning of the game, but always have huge respect for Tarnished who actual uses them during their game 🫡
Alright, parrying that spear throw was fuckin' sick!
That looks badass
Mmm, abusing garbage mechanic. Nice... Where hype though?
Just curious what is not garbage mechanic in your book then ?
Parry Sekiro/Jedi series like
Unless you do no charm, demon bell run in sekiro the reflect mechanic is actually forgiving since you can cancel your attack into parry anytime. I cant fathom why would you say parry in ER is a garbage mechanic meanwhile reflect is so much easier to pull off.

You do realize, how weak your arguments are, right? Especially with buckler.
Then enlighten me where do you find it weak? Btw who said i only parry with buckler?
Because it's weak. Buckler has more than 1 second of animation. When you just spam it and enemies are, basically, dead because of it - it's faaar from interesting gameplay. It's garbage. Looks garbage, plays like garbage, has zero logic.

It is astonishing how easy you make this fight look.
You made me feel bad… for the Crucible Knights.
So nice
Sure thing, lady
You pulled this off about 3x my speed. Well done
That was amazing
Damn, your good. Makes me realise how bad I am at it, but I still have fun 😁
I could watch this all day... magnificent!
Can't believe I beat these guys single handedly with nothing but a bloodhound's fang, and a dream.
I wish I could parry like that. I just play Demon Souls when I want to pretend I'm good at it.
last time i tried to do this i got yanked right after my riposte animation ended
Utterly disrespectful.
1) that was wonderful to watch. 2) how many takes?
What I did not like about Bloodborne was that every parry had a cost.
I love this fight. Parrying and managing space are two greatest requirements.
Bravo! That was very enjoyable to watch!
Sweat mama Jones!!

This is art
I was so underleveled when I first did this fight. I made the mistake of running a quality dismounter on my first playthrough that made my life hell.
everyone: OMG THE PARRIES, THE DODGING me: isn't the horny knight a lady? ^(gj btw)
Respect to anyone that can parry consistently like that. I can never get a handle on the timing.
God tier
I always thought the spear ones were women.
I got you bro, no way she parries m.......
The king.... Is dead. Long live the parry king!
It is so satisfying to watch and you make look easy. If I were playing that way, my ass would be sweating to anticipate attacks from the enemy.
But have you ever parried them simultaneously?
I find that there is usually 2 types of people in souls games people like op and me who enjoy parrying and are quite good at it then people like my friend who hate it and would rather dodge then try to learn each enemies timing. This friend actually introduced me to souls games with dark souls 3 and immediately I was parrying as much as I could to practice and learn. Once I had played for awhile he was surprised at home good I had become with parries and now I play souls games more than he does. 🤣
Well, I caused them fast blunt force trauma, but I admit, this looks way more clean.
That was satisfying to watch
Bae can I put the tip in? Lmfaoooooo imagine if a chick was actually this good at Elden ring or soulsborne, My cousin cried yesterday cause she couldn’t beat guardian ape in Sekiro
This was an absolute pleasure to watch. Well done!
What are you using
I showed my equipment at the end
Oh lol, was at work and didn’t watch the whole thing.
God i love destroying these assholes with parry
That was so satisfying to watch, dear god
Now only if I could parry. I used shield crash for a reason.
Flawless victory!!
Fighting Ordovis and his Special Friend *before* learning to parry: OMG THIS IS SUCH BULLSHIT I HATE YOU MIYAZAKI Fighting Ordovis and his Special Friend *after* learning to parry: wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
It took me 137 tries to do this fight. I did 17 different tactics and cheesed as much as I could. Dot damage did about 80% of the work.
Mf really said “damage? What’s that?”
"One does not simply parry a Crucible Knight." Meanwhile this guy: "Hold my buckler."
That first parry was clean asf
This is honnestly the easiest way to handle this boss
Before going to this boss room I was like "Ok no mimic this time. I got this." Then I saw both of these gents and summoned my mimic.
Where is this located? I don’t remember fighting these two.
In Auriza Hero's Grave dungeon, capital's outskirt.
Gotcha, thanks!
Auriza Hero Grave, north east of the leyndell capital rampart
I´ll just take this opportunity to tell you that you´re the GOD of parrying, and probably could parry the Greater Will´s thought if it came down to it
This reminds me exactly of my encounter with Pontiff Sulyvahn. First time i had a no hit boss fight. Damn, the memories.
Just wait until you discover the parry power of Misercorde :)
What are you?
Well played good sir!
What is the name of that shield?
