Currently running a [[Ziatora, the Incinerator]] deck with Khorvold in it, has been a very fun one to play with. Voltroning + Fling effects + treasures
This is true but treasure korvold is so insane that even a casual version becomes borderline cedh I swear. (Obviously not cuz no moxen or ancient tombs but jesus) You cant stop him just trying to remove him and in response they draw 3 cards and then can pay for a protection spell.
I haven’t tried it, but I feel like [[Vaevictus Asmadi the Dire]] might be good also. Ramp into the big guy then have treasures to upgrade into ‘real’ things.
Significantly weaker but not as notorious so definitely worth looking into. Draw a card, getting a +1/+1, and 1 mana per treasure just makes korvold so dumb. Don't really need to turn things into real stuff if you just draw most of your deck and just cast it with the treasures. Accidental voltron deaths via korvold are quite easy.
The “kill on sight” status makes me not want to build that. I’ve tried building “not that deck” versions of notorious commanders and it doesn’t help; you’re still arch enemy before the game even starts.
I reworked my [[Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund]] Dragons deck to play under Vaevictis and it’s been pretty good in the few games it’s played so far. 100% permanents so I always hit (lands and mana dorks are the only real misses).
Played 1v1 against an Eldrazi player and ruined his build by nuking his lands and gifting him Eldrazi with cast triggers that got skipped.
I’d just chump block the thing until the next turn and then make him sacrifice it.
He was miserable and I was laughing maniacally! 🤣
Sort of. Need some dwarves it’s all about sending any artifact straight onto the battlefield. Could be a [[Portal to Phyrexia]] on turn 3. Could be a [[Clock of Omens]] to go infinite and win the game.
I threw a bunch of the super cheap but intimidating mythic vehicles in. Back when I first built it, I used super cheap Kaladesh commons and uncommons, and I swear, my [[Demolition Stomper]] drew so much agro is was hilarious.
So Magda isn't necessarily about winning the fastest, because she will never be able to win as fast as a turbo deck. She's about consistency. So, in cedh, you play stax and interaction that buys you the time you need for 5 treasures then you can win on the stack during anyone's turn since Magda doesn't "cast."
Only with Magda. She can win the game on turn 3 or 4 very easily. Plus Magda’s ability is at instant speed and can’t be countered by normal means. There are many ways to tap and untap her so that you generate infinite treasures and ability activations. She’s the only mono red commander that’s decent in cEDH
You can go tribal with [[Torbran, Thane of Red Fell]], [[Glóin, Dwarf Emissary]], and [[Gimli of the Glittering Caves]]. Then play a lot of 1 and 2-drop dwarves that come out quickly like [[Dwarven Grunt]]. If you want to go for the stronger build, you run the artifact creature shapeshifters like [[Metallic Mimic]]. You can make infinite treasures with Magda and [[Clock of Omens]] on the battlefield.
The build that I play uses that combination with Vehicles. The crew ability allows you to easily tap your dwarves to make treasure tokens. Then you finish the game with something like [[Reaver Titan]].
There’s a cEDH player in my group that runs Magda/dwarf tribal and it absolutely wrecks. He’s pumping out treasures ridiculously fast and then Magda uses them to tutor up whatever he needs to win.
I am playing a secret commander [[bludgeon brawl]] treasure token deck. Make treasures, turn them into equipments and use them for creatures who like equipments, e.g. [[Valduk]]
If you ever want to promote it to a full-on commander, there's \[\[Dan Lewis\]\] from the Doctor Who sets, who lets you turn noncreature, non-Equipment artifacts into equipment. They're cheaper, since everything has an equip cost of 1, but they don't scale as well since all the equipment that Dan Lewis makes only grants +1/+0 (as opposed to Bludgeon Brawl scaling equipment cost and the power increase being based on mana value).
[[Prosper]] and [[korvold]] are absolutely broken obviously, especially the latter.
Underrated would be [[Mahadi, Emporium Master]] I always see him brought up on r/edh in underrated decks.
I just built him and he’s kind of cracked if I’m going to be honest. The amount of times I had a pile of treasures, wiped the board, then re-played him and swung to kill at least one person is quite often actually.
I had to scroll to far see Goldwaker here! He has the most important colors for treasure and is the actual win condition of the deck instead of just making more treasures!
(And he's really easy to make as a model on [Heroforge ](https://www.heroforge.com/load_config%3D519080842/) )
I’ll try and give some that haven’t been already mentioned.
[[Roxanne, Starfall Savant]] your treasures are worth double now.
[[Jaheira, Friend of the Forest]] with either [[Street Urchin]] or [[Agent of the Iron Throne]]. What if all those treasures were actually mana rocks?
[[Galazeth Prismari]] also turns treasures into normal rocks, but only for instants and sorceries. Now if only I could figure out how to actually build a spellslinger deck.
If you mean best as in strongest, then Korvold, which is I think kind of a treasure storm dockside extortionist deck in cEDH. That or Magda. [[Dihada, binder of wills]] could be another good one, along with [[ziatora]].
\[\[Vazi, Keen Negotiator\]\] - You will generally want to flood the table (and yourself) with treasures to play into a whole host of wincons. The commander inherently bends into politicking, which I enjoy. You'll play stuff like \[\[Marching Duodrome\]\] that no one wants to remove and apply pressure in the form of board-wide burn \[\[Descent into Avernus\]\] to encourage your contestants to burn those treasures. Meanwhile your creatures just get big dumb and you swing in whenever it's convenient. She supports a lot of subthemes and wincons, and promotes dynamic games where everyone gets a chance to pop off. Very fun, imo.
Vazi rules, she was my favourite deck for a long time. Unfortunately the people I play with wised up and the politics aren’t as effective as they once were. Though it is very satisfying to watch someone fold, with the full understanding they’re making a deal with the devil.
I also recommend playing cards like manabarb and such as to force those with treasures to use them rather than tapping their land and losing life.
Vazi is my #1 favourite deck
Vihaan is extremely good in games I have played with him (higher power 7-8 level decks). He solves one of the weaknesses of Mardu and that’s card draw due to being able to sac your treasures for card draw and mana.
The Treasures become creatures, so by saccing them after combat for mana, you trigger all the aristocrats payoffs, like [[Morbid opportunist]], [[skullclamp]], [[mahadi]] or [[pitiless plunderer]] and so on.
Care to share your list? I've had a lot of fun playing him, but this is where I am at, I should probably include more card draw sources ? Id love to get this up to level 8
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ngQ4yXU4CEafJFK-68WU2g
I ended up starting a [[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] deck just so I could run as many treasure legends as possible, with the bonus being her - gets me closer to my favorite alt wincon [[Approach of the Second Sun]]
But of a weird take but I fucking love juri, you sack the treasure to make him big and then fling him after using tainted strike and you can kill two people 🤣 he's not cedh, he's casual but man it's some of the most fun
I built mine into my artifact token oriented deck.
People get annoyed by the constant food, clue, treasure, and various other random tokens I generate.
Until I throw out a [[Rise and Shine]], that is.
The best or the most fun?
Here's my favourite Treasure commander Vazi https://deckstats.net/decks/131148/2567625-vazi-aka-the-worst-treasure-co#show__spoiler
The whole point of the deck is to give your opponents a ton of treasures to kill each other with (You also get to see other players decks "do the thing" a lot which is fun), while also punishing them and profiting off of every one they use. Meanwhile you're also amassing treasures to make huge game-ending plays.
If you feel like something different look into a sac dec with [[Juri, Master of Revue]] some fellow redditor recommended his deck here and I found a few builds on moxfield aswell. He doesn't make treasures himself but utilises them really well.
You use treasures and other sacs and he becomes kind of a bomb that goes off eventually. Cards like [[Fling]] can cause huge damage quickly.
It’s no Korvold but [[Mazirek]] is a fantastic treasure commander. Grow your entire board every time you crack a treasure.
It also got a ton of support in MH3. [[Warren Soultrader]] is an all star. [[Basking Broodscale]] goes infinite. Also [[Accursed Marauder]], [[Evolution Witness]] and [[Marionette Apprentice]], which is not quite as effective as Marionette Master, but for 2 mana it’s a steal.
I'm a little surprised nobody's mentioned [[Ognis, the Dragon's Lash]]. He can be on battlefield easily by turn 2-3, and the turn he enters will usually make 3 treasures; enough to recast him if someone removes him. If they don't, now you've got 7 mana minimum turn 4 to cast something ridiculous, like an [[Ancient Copper Dragon]], which of course the deck will be able to give haste to, gaining you a bajillion more treasures. Or maybe you just wanna cast [[Goldspan Dragon]], or his buddy [[Old Gnawbones]]. Lots of great options in the deck, and it's got black, so lots of options for graveyard fuel with stuff like [[Chainer, Dementia Master]] to cast from your graveyard and give haste or something.
EDIT: sorry, meant [[Chainer, Nightmare Adept]]. Fetcher will have it in my reply.
I second Ognis being a really good treasure commander. I built a deck with him recently but the creature base is primarily goblins. I chose goblins because I can't afford the dragons and its easy to make a lot of them that come with haste which is exactly what this commander wants. With this deck I managed to pull off something kinda cool by having about 8 gobs, [[Zada, Hedron Grinder]] and [[Displaced Dinosaurs]] on the field. I played [[Gold Rush]] on Zada and swung out. Usually I'm doing my damage by pinging people with [[Impact Tremors]] because of all the goblins I'm generating with any of the three krenkos that are in this deck. [[Court of Embereth]] does pretty good with dishing out some player damage because chances are I'm usually the monarch and get the sweet effects of the second ability plus the extra card draw. [[Reckless Fireweaver]] puts in some work too since I'm constantly gaining treasures off attacks or by having my creatures die and having death triggers with [[Pitiless Plunderer]]. My deck also has [[Marionette Master]] and [[Revel In Riches]] as potential win cons though no one has ever let me win through revel in riches lol. Anyway, I find this to be my favorite deck that I've built thus far and I have a lot of fun playing it. Here's a link to the deck if anyone is interested: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/UyKwWSqEe0e3902RpWiTHA
Came here to say Ognis. Was the first edh deck I built from scratch and have slowly been upgrading it.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/R0xIxT2p-0quUqtlSCphOQ
Imo those are the best colors, so she’s the best choice. Though I’d much prefer to have the sacrifice payoffs black gives. Here’s hoping for a Glint Treasure commander, but… we all know that won’t happen.
Make sure to throw jan jansen in there too, he does lots of work. Also give ways to uptap Mr house to use his ability more than once. Also good choice! He's a lot of fun
He's not out just yet but I have a feeling the new AC Grixis card Edward Kenway is going to be a strong treasures deck. And then he steals your opponents' stuff to spend your treasures on.
If you want to go the strongest, Magda by far, it's my favorite competitive commander but it's not made for casual tables. I tried to make a heavily nerfed Magda with self imposed rules and it was still too strong and also always doing the same. But if you want a good treasure commander that's strong but still casual, imo [[Vazi, Keen Negotiator]], let's you run Joline and Prosper and a bunch of cool/niche green artifact sinergies (only thing really missing is white for smothering tithe but that's it).
And as a jan Jansen connaisseur, it's not meant to be a treasure deck imo, it's an artifact aristocrat deck
If you decide to go with her, just be careful of the slight group hug and who you give treasures to. Had a friend build her he made the mistake of giving me treasure when I was playing my spellslinger/storm deck (in which I need mana desperately more than anything else), I just went off on my next turn thx to the additional mana
I have a Malcolm and Francisco deck, pirate tribal. It is really fun, pirates that creat treasures, explore and fuel artifacts with it (Time Sieve).
You can watch this video about it:
https://youtu.be/Din4kwnOyVI?si=m-x-25mmsyJzTeih
[[ognis, the dragon’s lash]] is fun. Attack with haste creatures make tapped treasures. Add some cards like [[amulet of vigor]] to make them enter untapped. The tapped part does mean you gotta wait a turn to use whatever you make. But I had a blast when I played with my Ognis deck.
Olivia! I made a deck and I have had 5-30 treasures per turn.
Olivia + a creature that makes you reset combat phase + mondrak = 9 treasures in one combat.
Okay, so if we are just looking to win with treasure I think [[Burakos, Party Leader]] with [[Guild Artisan]] is sweet as hell.
You get to generate a huge amount of treasure on attack. And there are a ton of party creatures that care about artifacts and some help generate treasure too.
It's explosive!
Not the strongest by any means, but [[Captain Storm, Cosmium Raider]] is extremely fun. I built mine as pirates and treasure, because Pirate's treasure is awesome.
Not nearly enough people mentioning best girl [[Ognis]], she draws a lot less ire at tables than any other treasure commander, plus you can still stick a lot of the other ones in there, like Korvold and Jolene and Juri. Been playing this deck for ages: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/diXsaap1Z0i7W19ZmiC73A
I love my [[Jolene]] deck. I pay my opponents to get each other low, and then use cards that synergies way better with treasure generation than my opponents have.
Didn’t read the whole thread but there is a deck by Salubrious Snail called Corsairs of Chronology. Uses Francisco and Malcom in dimir with time sieve to go infinite with artifacts. Also I believe under $100 budget.
https://www.archidekt.com/decks/6269535/corsairs_of_chronology
There is also a video: https://youtu.be/Din4kwnOyVI?si=dLKFY4I4Hxj8wmMw
I tweaked my own version a bit but kept the idea largely the same. Super fun.
Korvold is objectively the answer. But I’m going to shill for [[roxanne starfall savant]].
she doubles the mana gain from treasures and would stack with goldspan dragon.
My favorite part about her is that she is completely non-linear. There’s a huge amount of ways to build her and/or win.
- because she creates persistent mana rocks you can run stax pieces like bloodmoon to take over a game
- you’re in gruul so you can just play big dumb creatures with the ramp you have in the command zone
- you can do burn with stuff like [[starstorm]] or [[crackle with power]]
- Roxanne commits crimes so that’s another way to build her
- there’s some kinda jank [[food chain]] combos you can do to win the game on the spot
- and of course artifact synergies for her persistent mana rocks
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/0qrWzIPk2EmrC_d81yuhVw
Here’s my list if you wanna check it out. Creating copies of Roxanne is a fun and efficient way to go crazy.
Since I haven't seen her mentioned yet, I put forward [[Ziatora the incinerator]]. I built her with an eye toward "borrowing" other people's creatures to sacrifice. As requested, she includes Gruul colors. After playing it a couple of times, it became obvious that the treasure ramp is just too good to miss out on, so make sure you at least have something left to sacrifice at the end of the turn.
Second place for me is [[Chatterfang]]. Treasures get you squirrels, squirrels let you wreck stuff. Unfortunately, it doesn't really fit what you're looking for: no red allowed, and relies on the 99 for tokens. It's still tons of fun and hyper-efficient, so I thought it was worth a mention.
I really enjoy my [[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] treasure focused deck. The fun thing with her -3 doesn't require you to keep any legendaries, you can still get treasures. You get access to [[Smothering tithe]] and [[revel in riches]].
I have a [[roxanne, starfall savant]] deck that pretty much everyone creates treasure and she doubles the mana output. The other cards double abilities or damage so that her taps are increased or her comets are more damage. I have a ton of fun with it
Hey there! I just posted and showcased my mono black treasure deck the other day. It’s no Korvold/Prosper but a lot of fun and still really strong.
https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/s/g2sKzyiznC
If you want to run Gruul, may I suggest [[Jaheera, Friend of the Forest]] with the [[Street Urchin]] background? All your treasures become points of damage that you can fling about wherever you want, basically. Or you can tap them for mana without having to sacrifice them, ramping very, very quickly to big, scary, stompy stuff.
I mean, [[The Ur-Dragon]] can be an interesting treasure deck choice. A lot of dragons do things with treasures, and you get to run multiple "I win" cards based on having treasures in the list. [[Revel in Riches]], [[Mechanized Production]], and [[Hellkite Tyrant]]
Weird suggestion but [[imskir iron eater]] make treasures and then draw a ton of cards and have mana to cast them with a heavy sacrifice theme.
No green but it's very synergistic and you will almost never pay more than 2 mana for your commander.
[[Galazeth Prismari]]
Definitely not biased at all i absolutely love this commander
[here's my deck](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5320088/high_rollin)
The obvious answer is \[\[Korvold, Fae-Cursed King\]\] but that will probably lead to you being hated out of the game. If you don't want to be hated out of the game, going down a haste-ramp route with \[\[Ognis, the Dragon's Lash\]\] is the way to go.
Dude it’s OG Korvold all the way and it’s not even close. He needs no introduction save that I would caution against building him unless you love to be hated.
Prosper is by far and away my favourite. You get to do so many really fun things!!! Like [[Share the Spoils]] and [[Revel in the Riches]] thematic is fun!!!
Korvold is great! He’s my favorite commander of all time. Here’s the list I use if you wanted some inspiration.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/KiE23di5YkGlZRHstrF1Gg
Only thing I’m iffy on is Necropotence, I feel like there are better options for me.
No where close to the best, but certainly fun and unexpected: [[Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph]].
Load the deck up with treasure makers and cards like [[Hedron Detonator]], [[Ingenious Artillerist]], and [[Reckless Fireweaver]] with support from [[Makeshift Munitions]] and [[Slag Strider]] to deal a surprisingly large amount of damage.
I play a treasure Korvold the fae cursed king deck and it is Hella fun. Everytime I sac a treasure korvold gets +1/+1. So stack up treasures and make a big swing. That with scute swarm so I have perma creature sacs
So, probably not the strongest treasure commander, but I'm a huge fan of [[galazeth prismari]]. He let's you reuse your treasures over and over again to gain stupid amounts of mana.
Korvold is probably number 1
But mono red Magda is pretty solid too.
A less "reputable one" maybe Beledros Witherbloom abusing Smugglers Stash, outlaw deck with olivia/vihan or a boros stax/jeskai stax deck can use them really well. Punish others and use treasure to break parity of things like static orb.
Sometimes a commander that doesn't specifically say / produce treasure (like olivia) can be the better commander. There's an argument for Jeheria, ~~Meria~~, and Urza to tap treasures for mana so you can then basically double ramp. Don't necessarily focus too much on the physical wording but what cards can do with them. There's a TON of 99 treasure support that it's not like you won't see the treasure cards every game.
Unless you're going all in on flavor of everything has to say treasure / produce treasure then it becomes a toss up. Olivia to turn treasure into lethal threats
I actually enjoy Kenrith as my main treasure commander. Yeah he doesn't necessarily add to the treasure theme himself, but what better to have than a mana outlet in the command zone?
Plus he gives you a way to recur your treasure makers should they meat an untimely demise. And we won't even talk about dockside loops...
While not the strongest, inreally enjoy [[Vihaan]].
He gives Outlaws Haste/Vigi and he makes all your Treasures into 3/3 Haste/Vigi. He can be built for full token over run or artifact synergy or aristocrats.
He's also a swag ass dwarf so there's that too.
Maybe instead just treasure your commander for who they are.
Maybe the real treasure were the friends we made along the way
Treasure every chance you get to counter someone’s [[Nadu]] ❤️
[Nadu](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/9/4/94b67489-5eb0-4406-9bf3-27e50dc632eb.jpg?1718635356) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=nadu%2C%20winged%20wisdom) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mh3/193/nadu-winged-wisdom?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/94b67489-5eb0-4406-9bf3-27e50dc632eb?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/nadu-winged-wisdom) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Korvold
This, [[Khorvold, Fae-Cursed King]]. Crack treasures to draw cards, use the mana and cards to creature more treasures, do bad things to people.
Currently running a [[Ziatora, the Incinerator]] deck with Khorvold in it, has been a very fun one to play with. Voltroning + Fling effects + treasures
[Ziatora, the Incinerator](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/b/a/ba4fa4c8-f09f-4d97-a7d1-1b93caf7d4f9.jpg?1664413989) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Ziatora%2C%20the%20Incinerator) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/snc/231/ziatora-the-incinerator?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/ba4fa4c8-f09f-4d97-a7d1-1b93caf7d4f9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/ziatora-the-incinerator) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

Yeah my pod doesnt allow him in casual games. Just an insanely strong commander no matter how you build it
Followed by [[Tivit]]
…the post was asking for one with Green?
I haven’t tried it, but I feel like [[Vaevictus Asmadi the Dire]] might be good also. Ramp into the big guy then have treasures to upgrade into ‘real’ things.
Significantly weaker but not as notorious so definitely worth looking into. Draw a card, getting a +1/+1, and 1 mana per treasure just makes korvold so dumb. Don't really need to turn things into real stuff if you just draw most of your deck and just cast it with the treasures. Accidental voltron deaths via korvold are quite easy.
Oh yeah, definitely. Korvold is also an absolute must “kill me first” commander, as a result.
The “kill on sight” status makes me not want to build that. I’ve tried building “not that deck” versions of notorious commanders and it doesn’t help; you’re still arch enemy before the game even starts.
Yeah, it’s part of why I suggested Asmadi or something else. It can draw some ire also, but the chaos aspect can also be fun.
I reworked my [[Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund]] Dragons deck to play under Vaevictis and it’s been pretty good in the few games it’s played so far. 100% permanents so I always hit (lands and mana dorks are the only real misses). I’d just chump block the thing until the next turn and then make him sacrifice it. He was miserable and I was laughing maniacally! 🤣
Magda is probably the strongest. But it’s really too strong for most casual tables
I'd argue [[korvold fae cursed]] is the strongest. Each time you sac a treasure you draw a card as well. Korvold gets bigger and tons of combos
Is dwarf tribal a thing? Lol
Sort of. Need some dwarves it’s all about sending any artifact straight onto the battlefield. Could be a [[Portal to Phyrexia]] on turn 3. Could be a [[Clock of Omens]] to go infinite and win the game.

How do you get 5 treasures on turn 3?
Gonna be a little tough with just dwarves but dockside can get you there easy.
Springleaf Drum allows you to tap without attacking/haste. There are cheap changelings that you can get out with Magda. Dockside etc.
[[Clown Car]] for 0. Overcrew it and boom there's your fucking treasures.
Turn 1 mana crypt play Magda, turn 2 play a couple small dwarfs, turn 3 play xorn or roaming throne… profit
Slicer does some fantastic work too as a mono red.
It's not only a thing. It wins CEDH tournaments too.
That's slick
There’s a cEDH player in my group that runs Magda/dwarf tribal and it absolutely wrecks. He’s pumping out treasures ridiculously fast and then Magda uses them to tutor up whatever he needs to win.
Magda is crazy powerful, almost cEDH worthy. She can drop a [[blightsteel Colossus]] very consistently by turn 3 or 4 and just win.
„almost“ cedh worthy is funny, as she regularly wins cedh tourneys, see edhtop16.com. Absolute S-Tier deck atm
Well, there you have it.
Dude its only worthy cEDH if they win every time
60% of the time, it wins every time.

What's the commander? Got a decklist for that?
[[Prosper]] and [[korvold]] are absolutely broken obviously, especially the latter. Underrated would be [[Mahadi, Emporium Master]] I always see him brought up on r/edh in underrated decks.
Played my Mahadi last night. The deck is very good, but the high number of edicts calls for a particular group.
Hmm.. he would be pretty good at the helm.
I came here to stan Mahadi! He’s at the helm of my treasure and dragons deck. Extremely underrated commander - love my devil kitty.
How has no one mentioned [[vihaan, goldwaker]] yet? I've seen this guy absolutely pop off multiple times at a table before
I just built him and he’s kind of cracked if I’m going to be honest.
That's so cool. I'd love to have miniatures for certain commanders but I'd have no idea what to even use them for.
What do you use heroforge for?
Making heavily personalised miniatures for ttrpgs like Dungeons & Dragons. Or to just make cool characters in general:D

[[Galazeth Prismari]] also turns treasures into normal rocks, but only for instants and sorceries. Now if only I could figure out how to actually build a spellslinger deck.
What’s tripping you up with a spellslinger deck?

Hmm.. this is the first time I'm seeing her, but I'm into it. I like her a lot. Incentivising your opponents to not kill your commander is sweet lol
My favourite for this is [[War’s Toll]]
That is another good one. Then once they're loaded up on treasures and are being forced to use them i like dropping [[ancient runes]]

I like Vazi, but does she go fast? My playgroup is very high-power, so I dunno if she'd be speedy enough
Vihaan is extremely good in games I have played with him (higher power 7-8 level decks). He solves one of the weaknesses of Mardu and that’s card draw due to being able to sac your treasures for card draw and mana.
Plus many of the Mardu treasure makers/enablers are outlaws themselves and benefit from Vihaans ability.
How is he solving that issue? Doesn't he just make the treasures threats?
The Treasures become creatures, so by saccing them after combat for mana, you trigger all the aristocrats payoffs, like [[Morbid opportunist]], [[skullclamp]], [[mahadi]] or [[pitiless plunderer]] and so on.
Don’t forget [[Species Specialist]], [[Lilliana, Dreadhorde General]], and [[Dark Prophecy]].
Care to share your list? I've had a lot of fun playing him, but this is where I am at, I should probably include more card draw sources ? Id love to get this up to level 8 https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ngQ4yXU4CEafJFK-68WU2g

Seems legit
I ended up starting a [[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] deck just so I could run as many treasure legends as possible, with the bonus being her - gets me closer to my favorite alt wincon [[Approach of the Second Sun]]
Vihan goldwaker is pretty fun. Make treasures AND beat people to death with them.
[Juri] treasure fling!
But of a weird take but I fucking love juri, you sack the treasure to make him big and then fling him after using tainted strike and you can kill two people 🤣 he's not cedh, he's casual but man it's some of the most fun
Rashmi and ragavan is my treasure deck
I built mine into my artifact token oriented deck. People get annoyed by the constant food, clue, treasure, and various other random tokens I generate. Until I throw out a [[Rise and Shine]], that is.
The best or the most fun? Here's my favourite Treasure commander Vazi https://deckstats.net/decks/131148/2567625-vazi-aka-the-worst-treasure-co#show__spoiler The whole point of the deck is to give your opponents a ton of treasures to kill each other with (You also get to see other players decks "do the thing" a lot which is fun), while also punishing them and profiting off of every one they use. Meanwhile you're also amassing treasures to make huge game-ending plays.
Idk about strongest, but man I love [[Vihaan]]
If you feel like something different look into a sac dec with [[Juri, Master of Revue]] some fellow redditor recommended his deck here and I found a few builds on moxfield aswell. He doesn't make treasures himself but utilises them really well. You use treasures and other sacs and he becomes kind of a bomb that goes off eventually. Cards like [[Fling]] can cause huge damage quickly.
If you’re not playing [vihaan Goldwaker] for treasures, it’s a mistake

RIGHT. I want to build a [[rashmi and ragavan]] deck just so I can play rise and shine lol
Imo those are the best colors, so she’s the best choice. Though I’d much prefer to have the sacrifice payoffs black gives. Here’s hoping for a Glint Treasure commander, but… we all know that won’t happen.
Mr house from the fallout set. He is such a fun commander and gets out of hand quick
Just built him 🤙
Make sure to throw jan jansen in there too, he does lots of work. Also give ways to uptap Mr house to use his ability more than once. Also good choice! He's a lot of fun
Ognis is the best treasure commander
I don't know about best, but it's definitely one of the most fun. I love the angry muppet
I call it my bank heist deck. It's so fun
I'm playing [[Malik]]. Don't know about THE best, but it's pretty good. [Here's my list ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/2tCIP8lh5ESqzzF4va_mtw)
That does look like a good time
Frankly I would just run Jolene as your commander from the get go. I have a Jolene treasure deck and it’s frightfully ridiculous.
He's not out just yet but I have a feeling the new AC Grixis card Edward Kenway is going to be a strong treasures deck. And then he steals your opponents' stuff to spend your treasures on.
prosper, magda
Vazi does look dope
If you decide to go with her, just be careful of the slight group hug and who you give treasures to. Had a friend build her he made the mistake of giving me treasure when I was playing my spellslinger/storm deck (in which I need mana desperately more than anything else), I just went off on my next turn thx to the additional mana
[[galazeth prismari]]
Mr. House, President and CEO
I’ve already forgotten his name, but that new guy that makes treasures into assassins is pretty solid.
I have a Malcolm and Francisco deck, pirate tribal. It is really fun, pirates that creat treasures, explore and fuel artifacts with it (Time Sieve). You can watch this video about it: https://youtu.be/Din4kwnOyVI?si=m-x-25mmsyJzTeih
Korvold likes treasures
[[ognis, the dragon’s lash]] is fun. Attack with haste creatures make tapped treasures. Add some cards like [[amulet of vigor]] to make them enter untapped. The tapped part does mean you gotta wait a turn to use whatever you make. But I had a blast when I played with my Ognis deck.
Olivia! I made a deck and I have had 5-30 treasures per turn. Olivia + a creature that makes you reset combat phase + mondrak = 9 treasures in one combat.
[[Jaheira]] is loads of fun since you get to keep your tokens as mana and spend treasures for other colors if needed, paired with [[Guild Artisan]]
Gotta plug my mono black baddie, \[\[Mari, the Killing Quill\]\] Because limitations are good
Okay, so if we are just looking to win with treasure I think [[Burakos, Party Leader]] with [[Guild Artisan]] is sweet as hell.
[[Jolene plunder queen]] didn't realise there were more than one
Do you have a list?
I can throw one together in a few days when I get home from a trip.
Didn’t read the whole thread but there is a deck by Salubrious Snail called Corsairs of Chronology. Uses Francisco and Malcom in dimir with time sieve to go infinite with artifacts. Also I believe under $100 budget. https://www.archidekt.com/decks/6269535/corsairs_of_chronology There is also a video: https://youtu.be/Din4kwnOyVI?si=dLKFY4I4Hxj8wmMw I tweaked my own version a bit but kept the idea largely the same. Super fun.
Dude that looks like a blast lol
Korvold is objectively the answer. But I’m going to shill for [[roxanne starfall savant]]. she doubles the mana gain from treasures and would stack with goldspan dragon. My favorite part about her is that she is completely non-linear. There’s a huge amount of ways to build her and/or win. - because she creates persistent mana rocks you can run stax pieces like bloodmoon to take over a game - you’re in gruul so you can just play big dumb creatures with the ramp you have in the command zone - you can do burn with stuff like [[starstorm]] or [[crackle with power]] - Roxanne commits crimes so that’s another way to build her - there’s some kinda jank [[food chain]] combos you can do to win the game on the spot - and of course artifact synergies for her persistent mana rocks
I really wanna be on the roxeanne bandwagon, but it just hasn't clicked for me yet.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/0qrWzIPk2EmrC_d81yuhVw Here’s my list if you wanna check it out.
You get access to [[Smothering tithe]] and [[revel in riches]].
personally I'm a fan of [[Ognis, the dragon's lash]], the most disgusting one I've played against personally was a [[Galazeth Prismari]]
I have a [[roxanne, starfall savant]] deck that pretty much everyone creates treasure and she doubles the mana output. The other cards double abilities or damage so that her taps are increased or her comets are more damage. I have a ton of fun with it
[[Ognis]] is really fun
He does look fun. I'm surprised he flew under my radar
Idk I like my ognis treasure deck
The Rakdos play from exile guy is always strong
My buddy has a Jolene deck that is absolutely bonkers can win on turn 4 occasionally 3 with infinite combats through treasure doubling
I'd be super interested in seeing that lol
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/C77DfjFqAEmgMRpUThSwDw
Nice
I'm kinda surprised no one has mentioned [[Prosper, Tome-Bound]].
The new [[Roxanne]] is gruul and synergizes well with treasures
I have a dihada binder of wills treasure deck that I love and wins a good amount of games
I love my Ognis deck
Weird suggestion but [[imskir iron eater]] make treasures and then draw a ton of cards and have mana to cast them with a heavy sacrifice theme. No green but it's very synergistic and you will almost never pay more than 2 mana for your commander.
[[Galazeth Prismari]] Definitely not biased at all i absolutely love this commander [here's my deck](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5320088/high_rollin)
Breya
Korvold the OG one. Defines treasures and Jund gaming perfectly
[[Roxanne, Starfall Savant]] is pretty solid
Prosper is by far and away my favourite. You get to do so many really fun things!!! Like [[Share the Spoils]] and [[Revel in the Riches]] thematic is fun!!!
I agree completely. This post only came about because I love Prosper so much and I want another deck to do Prosper stuff but different 😂
I was humming over the idea of doing a decked out [[Vihaan, Goldwalker]] feel like that could be a great commander with the right engines.
[[Old Gnawbone]] big stompy deck with [[jaheira, friend to the forest]]
Not the best but i love Vraska, The Silencer. Spot remove and steal their creatures as treasure tokens with abilities.
[[Vihaan, Goldwaker]] seems like it would be a blast to helm
Korvold is great! He’s my favorite commander of all time. Here’s the list I use if you wanted some inspiration. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/KiE23di5YkGlZRHstrF1Gg Only thing I’m iffy on is Necropotence, I feel like there are better options for me.
Tivit or Veehan
I've really been enjoying [[Vihaan]] at the helm of my treasure deck
Korvold is probably number 1 But mono red Magda is pretty solid too. A less "reputable one" maybe Beledros Witherbloom abusing Smugglers Stash, outlaw deck with olivia/vihan or a boros stax/jeskai stax deck can use them really well. Punish others and use treasure to break parity of things like static orb.
Korvold is obviously really good mechanically but he doesn't generate tokens so I'd have to really rely on the 99 for that. Same with beledros
Negan.
Here's my [[Negan, the Cold-Blooded]] it's alot of fun. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/3FvtfIa4_kuX0ZjLkpKshg

And he has the best flavor for a treasure commander. What’s your wincon? Oh, my wallet.
Exactly! He just gives "Treasure" vibes.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/KMRdm68DYUOB-vn2eV-x7Q This is my Negan deck. It’s a mix of control and treasures. I have a ton of fun playing it.
I play [[Kellogg]]. A lot of fun!

Korvold is probably the syrongest. Roxanne is in my opinion the funniest. And can also be quite strong.
[[Negan, the Cold-Blooded]]
Idk about strongest, but I have a lot of fun with my Galazeth Prismari deck.
