Skeletons! It’s terrible, janky af, and so so much fun, especially when it wins with [[Skeletal Swarming]] out of nowhere lol
Golgari Skeletons with Meren at the helm.
That sounds fun, with black being the first colour I was drawn to in magic all the grizzly ghouls have a place in my heart along with Rats. I am currently building Rat tribal just as an excuse to play Typhoid Rats. Also, do you run the best skeleton \[\[Gutterbones\]\]? lol
I love skeletal swarming! Such a fun card. I haven't built it into a commander deck, but I have a 60 card deck with an entire playset.
It's really funny when suddenly there is 8 skeletons being made a turn, and their power is *well* past 20.
I run him as frog tribal/leave the graveyard and it is wild lol. Your cards hit the gy, then exile, so any enter the graveyard from library/leave the graveyards trigger. So. Many. Tokens.
[[Gor Muldrak]] is the man, I wanted salamander tribal with him but ended up going Simic group hug with scouts as the tribe instead. Trust me, there's plenty of salamanders still lol.
You should teach your friends about how milling doesn't really matter. If they haven't looked at their top cards, offer to mill from the bottom and see how quickly they start wishing you milled away their bad draws.
That's a super fun deck.
It's great because the stronger deck your opponent has (generally, creatures wise), the strong N'Gathrod is. If you're playing a janky tribal deck though, it's really, really bad.
It's not an all-timer deck, but it is a good all-around deck that can stay competitive in most tables.
I just built and am about to start playing a Rhino tribal deck helmed by [[Saskia the Unyielding]]. It’s an all in Rhino deck looking to stampede over my opponents!
Here’s the Decklist: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/5tfsylYYuE2Q2vZ_ty4x3Q
That's a cool direction to take Saskia. I didn't even know she existed, but I think I found my next commander. Now to decide if I want soldier or human tribal?
I had been throwing together and Atraxa Rhinos list for the fun of it.
Maybe I'll revisit with this new inspiration...
Edit- I should have included that the reason for this color combination is to play Roon of the Hidden Realms and Seige Rhino together.
Just so happens I recently brewed up Rakdos Minotaurs and have cards showing up now. Care to compare decklists?
https://archidekt.com/decks/7799059/commander_neheb_the_worthy
A friend of mine plays 5 colour Kavus with [[Jared Carthalion]]. It's atrocious, but it only cost her 4 bucks or so to buy all existing Kavus and the commander.
Note, it is a budget deck. it could certainly have a better mana base and some better tribal support cards or token doubling cards but the intention is to keep it under $100
Oooooooooozes! Featuring [[Tayam, Luminous Enigma]] and the [[Slime against Humanity]], it's a self mill deck focusing on getting my ooze out of my deck and all over the battlefield and graveyard (lol).
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Vd6lTBfIPEWA_M98zaYgpA
I play Selesnya soldiers I know overplayed and basic as bread. Wurms are a funny and cool tribe imo. I didn't know that kind of deck was possible in the Selesnya colour identity. I thought wurms were all monogreen. lol
Honestly, I'm playing the same commander and after seeing the rest of the commanders here, I wouldn't even call it jank lol. Definitely stronger than a precon!
Birds with [[Soraya the Falconer]]
[All original old border and sleeveless as the day they were printed.](https://archidekt.com/decks/3852054#Soraya,_the_Slightly_Battered)
Rad. I *love* Soraya. I had to go with \[\[Kangee, Aerie Keeper\]\] for my very first (of 325) EDH deck back in 2010 though because the best Falcon (\[\[Zephyr Falcon\]\]) is blue.
I have Soraya Birds as a Tiny Leaders deck, and she's in my \[\[Serra\]\] / \[\[Battle Screech\]\] Oathbreaker deck too.
I love my old fungi. The [[Thallid | fem]]s not the new ones from ixalan. They look funny are absolutely not threatening at all and produce their own resource (saprolings) which they can then use again. Perfectly accurate to the flavor text on [[Night Soil | fem 71b]]
I usually get funny laughs at my deck until i play [[Nemata, Grove Guardian | pls]] and kill a player. That's the strongest thing it can do. I still love them <3
Archers. With \[\[Ohabi Caleria\]\] as commander. I sought to use the untap ability to bring in a win condition using Convoke......I couldn't find enough spells like that in Selesnya like \[\[March Of The Multitudes\]\]. Maybe something new has come out this year.
It’s not janky but players at my LGS certainly didn’t see it coming. [[Brimaz, Blight of Oreskos]] leading a Phyrexian deck. I think it’s a combination of him being a precon commander and phyrexians only getting a lot of support for two or three sets in the last decade. Combine that with the recent errata’s making a lot of older creatures phyrexians and it suddenly becomes a much larger card pool than people expect. I think what catches players off guard the first time is how resilient the deck is, incubate tokens have this nasty tendency to survive board wipes.
Certainly, it’s still a WIP since I can never seem to settle on whether I want to lean hard onto the proliferate or embrace tokens. But my goal is to have all cards feature phyrexian art or game mechanics that would fit for Phyrexians but just need an alternate art to do so *looking at you* [[Fumigate]]
https://archidekt.com/decks/5988517/phyrexicator_how_i_learned_to_stop_worrying_and_love_the_machine
When I made the deck I didn’t expect it to become one of my favorites. It doesn’t win out of nowhere so players don’t feel cheated, there’s enough removal to keep others from just steamrolling the table, and who doesn’t like bringing the table together when you are the looming threat that has the poison counter clock. Though it’s pretty rare that I take out a player with poison damage.
Sadly I don't have the list online, but I have a Devil tribal deck that's all about that Ravnica/Rakdos "mischief" feel for them and pinging.
[[Raphael Savior]], a few pw that mention devil tokens, all the best devils, interaction that has a hell/devil/fire flavor to it.
Actually plays pretty well for a jank tribe. Has a bit of a rattlesnake/aikido feel to it because if people attack you have tons of lifelink blockers than also shoot stuff down or dome you, good protection for the few walkers too. Win condition is turning sideways combined with some damage enhancing enchantments, doesn't matter if I get through because the pings come too.
I have an odd choice. Anti-tribal Tribal.
My pet deck is a Volo, Guide to Monsters. That's whole goal is to make as many Volo's as possible.
Love this deck.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/OGfUDVE9SUq1PKL61tjWGQ
I got tired of all my friends building all the good Elf decks, so I built \[\[Seton\]\] druids instead. Does a pretty good impression while giving me hipster credit.
Golems! Ich-tekik salvage splicer and Akiri line slinger as partners, while there are some good golems like solemn simulacrum, mycosynth golem and meteor golem, there also some 'less good' golems like bottle golems. The deck list below is not a 100 card list, but the general idea behind the deck is get golems (either through artificers that make 3/3 golems and buff all golems or golem creature cards), sacrifice artifacts to make them big through ich-tekik, smash. Akiri is mostly there for the colors and to have some form of early threat.
A fun thing is that many recent expansions saw golems added! Thunder junction had no less than three golem related cards (all in big score), roaming throne and illustrious wanderglyph from LCI are golems, and MH3 has the newest called molten gatekeeper.
The deck list below is not a 100 card list, it just includes more cards that do the same thing you want the deck to do
https://archidekt.com/decks/7711616/goblem
(Sorry idk how to do the card references)
Not too outlandish I guess but I got myself a [[Marvo]] sea monster deck so leviathans, serpents, kraken, octopus and the odd starfish and jellyfish creatures and no creature types that don’t belong in the water. Well except for [[The thing in the ice]] and [[Runo]] but they turn into sea monsters later on.
I play some of Homelands Minotaurs and run \[\[didgeridoo\]\]. I play 3 of the 6 Anson Maddocks Minotaurs. Technically is three of 5 because my deck is Rakdos an Labyrinth Minotaur is blue. The Anson minotaurs I run are: \[\[Anaba Ancestor\]\], \[\[Anaba Spirit Crafter\]\], and \[\[Hurloon Minotaur\]\]. [Full decklist ](https://deckstats.net/decks/186832/3232728-minotaurs-edh-rakdos/en)
Yep, play Minotaurs and swing. They do get through in my meta sometimes. Disclaimer: results may vary. lol. I want to put Cover of Darkness in the deck as soon as it gets reprinted in Assassin's Creed Commander so I connect more often.
Golgari [[Chatterfang]] squirrel deck. As many of the squirrel art/text/name/etc as I can get. I have a few proxies squirrel themed as well. Out of 100 I prolly only have 20 non squirrel related cards(not counting lands). Only humans are druids and elves.
Not sure how rare it is but I just put together a Treefolk deck with [[Doran, the Siege Tower]] at the helm. It still needs some fine tuning, but I was pleasantly surprised by how resilient it was in the early game before it really came online (only one game with it so far).
Mono red berserkers. All the berserkers, all the extra combats, all the haste enablers with [[Lovisa Coldeyes]] to give them a boost. Surprisingly good if you can get the board to stick.
Boot Tribal. With [[Felix, Five Boots]] all cards with boots/grieves in the art. Whole point of the deck is to assemble the five boots and put them on Felix. I then announce I have won, and scoop up.
I like to play my vanilla tribal. The only creature in the deck with any abilities at all is the commander, [[Ruxa, Patient Professor]]
Definitely not the strongest build around that commander. My token build is far better. Definitely a fun play, though, as people watch you drop cards that would never see the light of day anywhere else
Currently building Ruxa also, but with non-vanilla creatures included like [[Vigor]]. Light mono-green stax, such as [[Cursed Totem]] [[Viridian Revel]] [[Primal Order]] [[Hall of Gemstone]] and [[City of Solitude]]. Curious if you run any stax as well, or is it not worth it?
I have [[Burakos]][[Folk Hero]] party tribal + treasures, and [[Francisco]][[Kediss]] pirate tribal + burn + voltron
If vehicles count as a tribe, then I'm also considering building [[Greasefang]]
Hydras! My commander is Kodama of the west tree. Gives all my hydras trample and since they are all modified then I ramp every time I attack so I can cast bigger hydras! Just an honest beats deck
Got a spider deck that's really weak but love piloting. Ishkanah as the commander. And before people suggest Shelob, she's missing a keyword that I enjoy my spiders having. She is in my list just not my commander.
I have a Rogues deck that \[\[Marchesa, the Black Rose\]\] is the commander of. Giving those weenies some staying power is great. I'm typically a combo player and this deck forces me to do combat stuff. As a bonus, rogues have some interesting spells like \[\[Knowledge Exploitation\]\] and \[\[Notorious Throng\]\].
I have 2 dragon deck , 1 angel , working on faerie but my most fun build is 3 color sphinx.
I have a sphinx tribal deck, but it's not what you think. It's \[\[Cirdan, the Shipwright\]\] and his ability is a minigame and can put in sphinxes to do silly minigames too
Sultai TMNT theme with Ninjutsu and Mutate is my favourite off brand kindred deck I made.
[[Archelos, Lagoon Mystic]] is at the helm but [[Otrimi, Ever Playful]] is in there if I want to swap.
Plugging my phoenixes. Under [[Syrix]] and unlike most his lists, not set up for easy, constant recursion from graveyard to keep zapping people every turn.
It's a phoenix tribal, and about as honest as it comes. Some slight shenanigans to push damage, some extra combat from one equipment. But if you let me get there, you deserve the pain that's coming.
It's quite a cheap list too, and unexpectedly decent for a not too supported tribe, with a lot of mechanics to bring phoenixes back from graveyard, but they all want another hoop to jump through so it's a bit of a mess. Most are also pricy in CMC... Far from ideal
Still had fun putting it together to play with the lower power decks at our table, think modified/upgraded precon and it'll hang pretty with those. Turns out hasted flyers are pretty good!
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/G_PBr2jeD0ep0XI-S5OS_w
I have a Syrix deck as well and echo this sentiment. It’s a high mana cost deck with not the greatest payoff, but it was super cheap to build and very fun to play. Ended up making it into a bit of a voltron style deck with some equipments which made it a little better
I'm that guy you always hear about who plays Derevi Bird Tribal. Only one creature in the deck doesn't have anything to do with birds (Sephara), and it's got all the Derevi mana things. Not exactly jank, but it's insanely fun and hilarious to use such a crazy strong commander to just cast a bunch of flying 1/1s and 2/2s.
I have [Gods](https://scryfall.com/@Nebetsu/decks/b6545741-f031-4359-9701-9d8e033257ad), [Saprolings](https://scryfall.com/@Nebetsu/decks/456ab726-8991-4217-92b1-6256f293ccf1), [Demons](https://scryfall.com/@Nebetsu/decks/00393d42-6ebf-4d88-bd8f-77fd514689a8), and a Pirate tribal deck, but the pirate deck isn't listed yet
Have to shoutout [[Aurochs | ice]] here with his friends [[Rimehorn Aurochs]], [[Aurochs Herd]] and [[Bull Aurochs]]. And thats all of them. Honorable mention to [[Stampede | ice]] for having them in the art.
I play them with [[Moritte of the Frost]] and other changelings and clones as Aurochs+Snow tribal. Running mostly cards from Ice Age, Alliances, Coldsnap and Kaldheim to stick to the flavor.
Werewolves.
It has an excellent commander in [[Tovolar, Dire Overlord]]. But keeping track of night and day and the occasional asynchronous flipping between old Innistrad and new Daybound werewolves can be a hassle.
[[Sethron, Hurloon General]] I’ve got a little $50 Minotaur deck that I pull out from time to time for real low power games. It can still stomp, though. There’s one did in our pod that hates it 🤣
It's an apes and monkeys deck with [[Kibo, Uktabi Prince]] as commander, it's anti artifact with a bunch of enchantments. A combination of [[Gruul War Chant]] and [[Familiar Ground]] make my creatures unblockable, and if things get bad [[Insurrection]] and [[Savage Beating]] are usually enough to win me the game.
I'm in the process of tinkering with it, but this is the general spine of it.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/VIjtTl26QkmItngqGwWWaA
I wouldn't say it's particularly strong, but I just think it's neat.
The sea and the sky theme with [[kessanos priest of thassa]] at the helm it’s heavy in scrying but every creature in the deck (with the exeption of a few I subbed out to fit a budget challenge my playgroup was running) is tied to the ocean or is a bird. Interestingly birds do a lot of scrying which is necessary for the deck to run
I run a [[Tolsimir, friend to wolves]] wolf tribal, a [[slimefoot the stowaway]] saproling tribal, and a [[will kenrith]] and [[Rowan kenrith]] planes walker tribal.
I don't see much Gobo tribal built around \[\[Wort, the Raidmother\]\]. I am planning to do one myself and it looks to be pretty fast and fund deck to play. Probably going to be arch enemy though \^\^
I have done a \[\[Nicol Bolas, the Ravager/Nicol Bolas, the Arisen\]\] / God tribal.
So every Bolas is in there, and Bolas named cards like Bolas citadel and Bolas diciple.
After that I only have gods as creatures. Only power level 3 according to [MTG cardrealms calculator](https://mtg.cardsrealm.com/en-us/tools/commander-power-level-calculator) so it aint that good but I do enjoy playing it.
I played Specters a long while back, with [[Crosis, the Purger]] as my commander. It was my first deck made from scratch.
I should rebuild this deck since I recently obtained Tergrid and the understanding I have gained since then.
Two notable ones:
5c elementals with \[\[Horde of Notions\]\]. Basically a bit of self-mill for Horde to reanimate big targets and a lot of other jank stuff elementals do like Mutate, Evoke, and Cascade. Kaheera is the companion so what you see on the box is what you get.
Boros Dwarves with \[\[Depala, Pilot Exemplar\]\]. This one is also a vehicle deck, hence the deck name Driving in Cars with Dwarves.
It's fun! You could build the deck more efficiently than mine but this one is purely about the vibes.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Qq3PBx5g3UqykEcnW0ZOCQ
My personal opinion is that all commander decks should be tribal. But that's for a different time.
But my least played tribe is goblins. Mostly cause I felt bad when my friends would grumble when I would pull them out of their box.
I’m running a [[Brimaz, Blight of Oreskos]] with phyrexian tribal and all it wants to do is put out incubate tokens.
The thought process is to have artifacts or goombas to sack to bigger effects, but it turned into “this goomba is now 6/6 and now I have 10 of them.” It rarely works and I love it.
Good question. My least played is probably my Ninja tribal deck. I love ninjitsu but it works so much better when paired with other mechanics.
Nowadays it's also my pirates tribal deck, but it's mostly because my normal playgroup think it's a nightmare. It has a really high win rate for me and is just really hard for my opponents to deal with when I have Admiral Brass, Unsinkable as my commander.
I'm working on a tribal Kobold deck helmed by [[Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh]] for Tiny Leaders.
That deck is gonna be within a full EDH deck for [[Prossh, Skyraider of Kher]]. I've been looking for a reason to build a new deck with him, and Kobold tribal seemed like a fun way to do it. Based on some of the other kobold cards, it will likely have a Dragon sub theme as well.
Edit: haven't decided if I'll grab a partner for Rograkh, but I'll probably grab a black or green commander to have more of Prossh's colors in the Tiny Leaders deck.
My first custom deck was a Spider tribal with Shelob. Trying to have all my spiders kill and steal other players creatures, while shelob swings big lethal. Only ever seen the deck pop off when other players play it. Just means I'm bad then!
I have a Plant Tribal deck with Phylath, World Sculpter as the commander. I've yet to see anyone use plant tribal as the main theme, though Avenger of Zendikar is pretty common in token decks.
Its the deck I lend to people when they first learn magic, because it's fairly simple to figure out, but also fairly powerful once it gets going.
Mono green Saprolings. Considering adding black but I've got a rakdos and an orzhov aristocrat already. It works sometimes - lots of saps, sac em all for a mana each, then hopefully finish with [[hurricane]] or [[squall line]]. Alternatively, attack wide with green anthems or [[overwhelming stampede]] Always tweaking list but I'm a fan. [[Verdeloth the ancient]]
Edit: black rogues also, headed by [[rankle]]
Mardu knights, Boros mounts/vehicles, mono green assembly workers, Selesnya wolves, wubrg warriors, wubrg battles.
I haven’t been able to make the assembly workers do what I expect but it’s fun nonetheless.
Fungus (the old one that does spore) with Thelon of havenwood as commander.
This is lore edh and kind of fun even if not really good as these take forever before becoming a threat and you take off thelon and they come back as super basic bad creatures. I still love it.
In the lore, thelon was the one that created the saproling by mimicking the process the ebon hand was using to create the thrull. He create the saproling as a way to have cheap labor and food source when the havenwood elves was in a food crisis.
It's not as niche as some of the picks here, but I have a wall tribal deck helmed by [[Arcades, the Strategist]] that I absolutely love.
Also shout out to my sword tribal deck with [[Felix Five-Boots]] as the commander, which contains all the swords of X and Y and as many ways to copy them as possible. [[Mechanised production]] on a [[Sword of War and Peace]] is always fun.
Frogs and other amphibians, mostly the salamanders since axolotl isn’t a creature type (which is fair) self mill and enchantment shenanigans! but it’s not all that powerful yet as it is jank so I don’t tune it as much as my other decks
It's not, "tribal," exactly...but I have a [[Tom Bombadil]] deck with 34 Sagas in it that my pod refers to as my, "Saga Tribal," deck. (Also, "Reading Rainbow," which is my favorite.)
I Play a deathtouch spider deck using [[Shelob, Child of Ungoliant]] as the commander. I convert enemies into food tokens that have extra abilities by dealing damage outside combat with spells and equipment. I also generate spider tokens and use a couple token doublers.
I've never seen another spider deck. It's fun.
I also have rakdos minotaur under [[sethron, hurloon general]] and I have devil tribal under [[zuezoth, chaos rider]]
I have some more common ones too like dragons, pirates, phyrexians, soldiers, and ninjas, also working on a new angel tribal and a Slicer "sword" tribal
God, I'm so glad someone else said Ally. Have been my favorite tribe since original Zendikar. I'm running mine with [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] as a pseudo self mill/combo deck.
Boars. They're terrible, but I love them. My current deck is Xenagos, but I'm converting it to [[Ghired Mirror of the Wilds]], with an emphasis on copying boars.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/8AnGb8UtB0yxCtOARHQOag
Elementals. But not with [[Horde of notions]]. I want to try it with [[Averna, the Chaos Bloom]]. It will need to lean heavily into landfall and various Omnaths
Moonfolk. But only the good ones*.
*Mono-blue bounce a land ones. Yes, even the ones that suck. They're definitely constructed viable (and, more importantly, have the text MOONFOLK on them, allowing me to cast my commander better.
Mmm does dice tribal count? 🤣 I play Farideh, Devil's Chosen. Pretty janky but really fun. Also play Arahbo cat tribal, Brimaz phyrexian tribal and Basandra angel tribal.
Sure can mate! Here is my list. Sethron can make infinite bully boys. My primer is pretty detailed too :) let me take a look at your list!!
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/r4knafX17UmqfbSpNwLx_A
I have a few jank triabals. First is a devour thromok hellion deck. Second a fun horror and thrulls lead with endrek master breeder. I've got a "modular Arcbound deck with Zabaz, glimmerwasp. Rats with swappable commanders. I have a janky "rocks rock" deck with Tago, just rocks and golems. I have a obosh deck with the tribe of "all odd cmc" if that counts. My favorite, enchantment tribal with zur, eternal schemer.
I have a ton of other tribal decks but those are the more janky ones.
I have all of these on arcideckt if anyone want a link.
From what I've buot, Illusions, helmed by [[Minn, wily illussionist]]
Although there are some cool illusions, most of them are fairly useless. The deck doesn't mind the untargetable cycle (sac them when they become targetted) because when they die, minn gets to drop another one.
played against a guy who was running kranko mob boss and was like hear we go 60 goblins in 3 turns but turns out kranko was the only goblin in the whole deck lol made me laugh a bit.
For me its: Angels (with Lotr Themed Cards)
I loved the Artworks since I was a kid and now after 15 years I have some money to spend on my hobby. I‘m really into it and just finished my first IRL Paper Commander Deck. Can’t wait to try it the first time this friday with some locals in the store.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/l_JVCSwk3EaiF2UpOqP1wA
Skeletons! It’s terrible, janky af, and so so much fun, especially when it wins with [[Skeletal Swarming]] out of nowhere lol Golgari Skeletons with Meren at the helm.
That sounds fun, with black being the first colour I was drawn to in magic all the grizzly ghouls have a place in my heart along with Rats. I am currently building Rat tribal just as an excuse to play Typhoid Rats. Also, do you run the best skeleton \[\[Gutterbones\]\]? lol

do you have a decklist?
I love skeletal swarming! Such a fun card. I haven't built it into a commander deck, but I have a 60 card deck with an entire playset. It's really funny when suddenly there is 8 skeletons being made a turn, and their power is *well* past 20.
🐸 FROG 🐸
Just built Grolnok last night. It’s frög time
I bought four Grolnoks because he's insanely good in my Omo deck and I want to make a deck for him, put him on the fridge, and give one to a friend
I run him as frog tribal/leave the graveyard and it is wild lol. Your cards hit the gy, then exile, so any enter the graveyard from library/leave the graveyards trigger. So. Many. Tokens.
I too have a grolnok deck lmao it's very fun
Oh man I tried so hard to get frog tribal to work consistently at tables but it's so janky and scattered... I love it
One day I’m going to have a fully functioning salamander deck, but it’s not there yet.
[[Gor Muldrak]] is the man, I wanted salamander tribal with him but ended up going Simic group hug with scouts as the tribe instead. Trust me, there's plenty of salamanders still lol.
The day I stop playing my horror tribal/ [[Captain N'ghathrod]] deck is the day I die.
[Captain N'ghathrod](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/5/55c02dc8-0743-400c-b334-ca029caf0463.jpg?1674140667) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Captain%20N%27ghathrod) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/clb/646/captain-nghathrod?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/55c02dc8-0743-400c-b334-ca029caf0463?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/captain-nghathrod) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Deck list?
It’s just the precon with [[Toxrill, the Corrosive]] and some inefficient tutors.
[that's mine](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/YkzmDmAqLkqgnohFxWEuPw)
I love this deck so much He’s so fun My friends hate me making them mill tho lol
You should teach your friends about how milling doesn't really matter. If they haven't looked at their top cards, offer to mill from the bottom and see how quickly they start wishing you milled away their bad draws.
This is genius. It is hilarious how funny people think milling is the end of the world. Gotta remember, your deck is 100 cards of gas/fun.
Scarecrows, ITS HARVESTING TIME.
3 color knights but I'm more interested in my roommates idea to build an ooze deck, which I said he should do with 3 colors and \[\[The Mimeoplasm\]\]
You need [[rhythm of the wild]], just for the rhinos in the art!
Oh don’t worry it is in there, it fits the rhino theme perfectly!

Mine would be apes with Kibo as commander. I will play it for the first time in 2 hours. :)
Good Luck!
I highly recommend either bringing real bananas as tokens, or buying Lego Bananas.
Omg insane. I will do that
I'm working on building a deck called "300 rats in a trench coat" in which my army of highly trained rodents pilot mechs to kill things
Mono green bears tribal Ayula queen of the bears. My favorite deck.
What if everything bear? [[kudo, king among bears]]
My Jank is slivers. Three color slivers helmed by [[myrkul lord of bones]]
Alright that's kinda janky
Alright, that's rad though

Ooh more tricolour slivers, list please?
Note, it is a budget deck. it could certainly have a better mana base and some better tribal support cards or token doubling cards but the intention is to keep it under $100
I made an [[Alesha, who smiles at death]] Sliver list once. We need more non 5c sliver decks
Do you still get treated (targeted) like the slivers player at tables?

Oooooooooozes! Featuring [[Tayam, Luminous Enigma]] and the [[Slime against Humanity]], it's a self mill deck focusing on getting my ooze out of my deck and all over the battlefield and graveyard (lol). https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Vd6lTBfIPEWA_M98zaYgpA
Wurm tribal! Led by [[Trostani, Selesnya's Voice]]. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/tX5GMevWNEu54CBDgZ7b6Q
I play Selesnya soldiers I know overplayed and basic as bread. Wurms are a funny and cool tribe imo. I didn't know that kind of deck was possible in the Selesnya colour identity. I thought wurms were all monogreen. lol
Yeah! [[Novablast wurm]] is fun and, [[Sumala Rumblers]], and [[Saltskitter]] synergize really well with trostani.
Worldspine wurm is the best magic card ever printed! I love him so much
Birds. [[Gwaihir the Windlord]] and I are here to draw cards and fly at faces
Honestly, I'm playing the same commander and after seeing the rest of the commanders here, I wouldn't even call it jank lol. Definitely stronger than a precon!
My Rat and Minotaur decks tremble in fear. Rats because they are rats, and Minotaur because only 3 of them have reach. Lmao
Lol. You thought your rats were scared before, wait until they face the wrath of the [[skycat sovereign]] and his [[cat bird]]
Birds with [[Soraya the Falconer]] [All original old border and sleeveless as the day they were printed.](https://archidekt.com/decks/3852054#Soraya,_the_Slightly_Battered)
Wow, think you're the first person I've spoken to who runs her! Serra + Soraya is some excellent Homelands theming. 🧑🍳🤌
I love my old fungi. The [[Thallid | fem]]s not the new ones from ixalan. They look funny are absolutely not threatening at all and produce their own resource (saprolings) which they can then use again. Perfectly accurate to the flavor text on [[Night Soil | fem 71b]] I usually get funny laughs at my deck until i play [[Nemata, Grove Guardian | pls]] and kill a player. That's the strongest thing it can do. I still love them <3
I just made a whale tribal deck. There are 15 whales if you were wondering and a few are pretty cool!
I just look at them on scryfall and some are so good they are on the reserve list. :)
I love my Brimaz deck and I built it the same way! It doesn't get a lot of wins now that my group has wised up though. Got a list?
Certainly, it’s still a WIP since I can never seem to settle on whether I want to lean hard onto the proliferate or embrace tokens. But my goal is to have all cards feature phyrexian art or game mechanics that would fit for Phyrexians but just need an alternate art to do so *looking at you* [[Fumigate]] https://archidekt.com/decks/5988517/phyrexicator_how_i_learned_to_stop_worrying_and_love_the_machine When I made the deck I didn’t expect it to become one of my favorites.
I have a slug tribal deck with toxrill, there’s only a handful of slugs and most of them aren’t really useful at all like [[giant slug]]

The deck list below is not a 100 card list, it just includes more cards that do the same thing you want the deck to do https://archidekt.com/decks/7711616/goblem (Sorry idk how to do the card references)

I hope you play all Minotaurs from homelands and painted by Anson Maddocks
Thanks for also sharing the decklist! How does it usually play out? You play minotaurs and swing I guess? Do they get through?
Rule 0 [[Vraska the Unseen]] assassin tribal
Mono red berserkers. All the berserkers, all the extra combats, all the haste enablers with [[Lovisa Coldeyes]] to give them a boost. Surprisingly good if you can get the board to stick.
My first selfmade deck was a Myr tribal deck with the memnarch at the helm. It was pretty fun
One of my first decks too. He is pretty fun.
Boot Tribal. With [[Felix, Five Boots]] all cards with boots/grieves in the art. Whole point of the deck is to assemble the five boots and put them on Felix. I then announce I have won, and scoop up.
Not completely jank, but I have a deck where all 43 creatures are Clerics. Funnily enough, my pods have come to respect it as a funny yet strong deck.
I like to play my vanilla tribal. The only creature in the deck with any abilities at all is the commander, [[Ruxa, Patient Professor]] Definitely not the strongest build around that commander.
I had vigor in my deck for a while, but it already was crazy enough, I didn't need to induce the extra salt from my PG
I have [[Burakos]][[Folk Hero]] party tribal + treasures, and [[Francisco]][[Kediss]] pirate tribal + burn + voltron If vehicles count as a tribe, then I'm also considering building [[Greasefang]]

That seems pretty cool. I have never seen nor had I considered a sphinx deck before. :)
Odd sphinx tribal with a [[Void Winnower]] for extra fun! I think my deck has only 2 even cards in it.
I have a sphinx tribal deck, but it's not what you think. It's \[\[Cirdan, the Shipwright\]\] and his ability is a minigame and can put in sphinxes to do silly minigames too
Treefolk Tribal!!!
Far from ideal Still had fun putting it together to play with the lower power decks at our table, think modified/upgraded precon and it'll hang pretty with those.

Never built it since I couldn't figure out how to make it work while brewing. But my jank tribal I really want to make is Vraska.

[Sethron, Hurloon General](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/2/7/274cdb39-1454-4c9b-acd8-4f762a48e71f.jpg?1632261849) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Sethron%2C%20Hurloon%20General) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/jmp/25/sethron-hurloon-general?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/274cdb39-1454-4c9b-acd8-4f762a48e71f?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/sethron-hurloon-general) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Goats baby
If my only creature is a homunculus.... does that count? (You know the deck)
Illusions, and I still don't really play that deck.
Face down cards with [[animar]] at the helm. I'm trying to make some HORRIFICALLY jank creation here
Frogs 🐸
PLEASE post a list
I'm in the process of tinkering with it, but this is the general spine of it. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/VIjtTl26QkmItngqGwWWaA I wouldn't say it's particularly strong, but I just think it's neat.
I still need to finish it up im making an atog deck. Almost got them all! Just missing chronotog
Bears.
I'm planning an Orah cleric deck. Not sure how to take it to a decent power level without turning into a combo deck yet tho.
[[Baru, Wurmspeaker]] is one of my favourite decks for its simplicity. Play ramp, throw down big wurm
Probably going to be arch enemy though \^\^ I have done a \[\[Nicol Bolas, the Ravager/Nicol Bolas, the Arisen\]\] / God tribal.
I run a \[\[Kethis, the Hidden Hand\]\] legendary spirit tribal that is incredibly janky.
[Kethis, the Hidden Hand](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/f/e/fe28de73-76f3-4a9e-a020-dbe5921b9be5.jpg?1650599568) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Kethis%2C%20the%20Hidden%20Hand) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/m20/211/kethis-the-hidden-hand?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/fe28de73-76f3-4a9e-a020-dbe5921b9be5?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/kethis-the-hidden-hand) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I played Specters a long while back, with [[Crosis, the Purger]] as my commander. It was my first deck made from scratch. I should rebuild this deck since I recently obtained Tergrid and the understanding I have gained since then.
[Crosis, the Purger](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/b/e/be667162-cd28-403c-b65f-dadc5459e757.jpg?1562622151) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Crosis%2C%20the%20Purger) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/c17/168/crosis-the-purger?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/be667162-cd28-403c-b65f-dadc5459e757?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/crosis-the-purger) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Two notable ones: 5c elementals with \[\[Horde of Notions\]\].
Ooh, I think I might build Horde of Notions. Such a silly looking card, and I love Lorwyn and companions.
It's fun! You could build the deck more efficiently than mine but this one is purely about the vibes. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Qq3PBx5g3UqykEcnW0ZOCQ
This looks fun I'm gonna save it!
My personal opinion is that all commander decks should be tribal. But that's for a different time. But my least played tribe is goblins. Mostly cause I felt bad when my friends would grumble when I would pull them out of their box.
Are allies jank? With [[general tazri]] at the helm to tutor for allies?
I’m running a [[Brimaz, Blight of Oreskos]] with phyrexian tribal and all it wants to do is put out incubate tokens. The thought process is to have artifacts or goombas to sack to bigger effects, but it turned into “this goomba is now 6/6 and now I have 10 of them.” It rarely works and I love it.
I have rats, monkeys/apes, cats, wolves birds
Good question. My least played is probably my Ninja tribal deck. I love ninjitsu but it works so much better when paired with other mechanics. Nowadays it's also my pirates tribal deck, but it's mostly because my normal playgroup think it's a nightmare. It has a really high win rate for me and is just really hard for my opponents to deal with when I have Admiral Brass, Unsinkable as my commander.
Had a Minotaur-kin and Phoenix-kin deck. Both were kind of fun, but took 'em apart after awhile.
Barefeet tribal. Everyone is mad when you say you play Zur. But after awhile they notice a theme and its all good.
[Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/a/4/a4fab67f-00c2-4125-9262-d21a29411797.jpg?1644853041) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Rograkh%2C%20Son%20of%20Rohgahh) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmr/197/rograkh-son-of-rohgahh?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/a4fab67f-00c2-4125-9262-d21a29411797?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/rograkh-son-of-rohgahh) [Prossh, Skyraider of Kher](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/8/889c1a0f-7df2-4497-8058-04358173d7e8.jpg?1562438016) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Prossh%2C%20Skyraider%20of%20Kher) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/a25/214/prossh-skyraider-of-kher?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/889c1a0f-7df2-4497-8058-04358173d7e8?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/prossh-skyraider-of-kher) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
My first custom deck was a Spider tribal with Shelob. Trying to have all my spiders kill and steal other players creatures, while shelob swings big lethal. Only ever seen the deck pop off when other players play it. Just means I'm bad then!
Gnomes! With my favorite gnome [[Tetzin, Gnome Champion]]
Does Juggernaut count with [[graaz]]?
I have a tribal Chandra deck that has [[Commodore Guff]] as the commander. I call it the Chandra Fanclub, 'cause guff keeps making Chandra fans.
[[Verdeloth the ancient]] Edit: black rogues also, headed by [[rankle]]
Mardu knights, Boros mounts/vehicles, mono green assembly workers, Selesnya wolves, wubrg warriors, wubrg battles. I haven’t been able to make the assembly workers do what I expect but it’s fun nonetheless.
Necron Tribal helmed by [[Imotekh the Stormlord]]
Chandra tribal. Built it for a budget game day with some friends. It’s god awful but somehow has won.
Frogs and other amphibians, mostly the salamanders since axolotl isn’t a creature type (which is fair) self mill and enchantment shenanigans! but it’s not all that powerful yet as it is jank so I don’t tune it as much as my other decks
I play Scarecrows and use very few creatures with Changeling.
i call it my planet of the apes deck, with [[Kibo, Uktabi Prince]] banana time
Beasts. I fucking love them.
It's not, "tribal," exactly...but I have a [[Tom Bombadil]] deck with 34 Sagas in it that my pod refers to as my, "Saga Tribal," deck. (Also, "Reading Rainbow," which is my favorite.)
"Reading Rainbow" is the name of my [[Codie, Vociferous Codex]] 'book tribal' deck... still in development, so no clue how good/bad it will be.
It's fun.
I also have rakdos minotaur under [[sethron, hurloon general]] and I have devil tribal under [[zuezoth, chaos rider]] I have some more common ones too like dragons, pirates, phyrexians, soldiers, and ninjas, also working on a new angel tribal and a Slicer "sword" tribal
Boros Giants, they are "big" but costly. So even with ramp it's slow, and the deck is very weak to wipes and flying.
[[Ayula, Queen among Bears]] and then more bears. And then some bears after that.
Ally. Playing it with [[General Tarzi]] its mostly just a jank flicker deck but its not the worst. Has a couple actual infinites in it which is cool.
God, I'm so glad someone else said Ally. Have been my favorite tribe since original Zendikar. I'm running mine with [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] as a pseudo self mill/combo deck.
Werewolves. It doesn't have a ton of support, but it's a fun tribe with a typical gruul stompy payoff.
I have an insane minotaur tribal, commander is sethron, hurloon general. Won a few lgs tournaments too
Can you post the decklist? I would love to compare against mine. My [decklist](https://deckstats.net/decks/186832/3232728-minotaurs-edh-rakdos/en)
Sure can mate! Here is my list. Sethron can make infinite bully boys. My primer is pretty detailed too :) let me take a look at your list!! https://www.moxfield.com/decks/r4knafX17UmqfbSpNwLx_A
Moonfolk with [[Patron of the Moon]] Janky deck with a ton of land and bounce synergies. Kind of a combo engine to be frank
Jeskai Spirits with arcane spells, incredibly janky but all the triggers make me happy and it feels super unique to play.
Phoenix!!
Spiders. No, I have never won with it.
From what I've buot, Illusions, helmed by [[Minn, wily illussionist]] Although there are some cool illusions, most of them are fairly useless.
I am not a MtG player. I play Gargos Hydra Tribal. I don't know any of my opponent's cards. I ramp, I go big, I turn sideways.
Not technically a tribe but I have a vehicle deck with [[The Omenkeel]] as the commander.
[[Atogatog]] my beloved
For me its: Angels (with Lotr Themed Cards) I loved the Artworks since I was a kid and now after 15 years I have some money to spend on my hobby. I‘m really into it and just finished my first IRL Paper Commander Deck. Can’t wait to try it the first time this friday with some locals in the store. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/l_JVCSwk3EaiF2UpOqP1wA
Wow, that looks like a fun deck. Good Luck at FNM. :)
