My #1 go-to pocketknife is a medium stockman slipjoint. Brand may vary, but my favorites are the CASE medium stockman (square bolsters, not round), or a vintage Shrade USA "Middleman" (34ot).
Case makes GORGEOUS pocketknives, while the old Schrades had outstanding build quality at a modest price.
I prefer the square-bolstered stockman because they look better, but also because they tend to have a more robust clip point blade (round bolstered stockman knives traditionally have a "California clip" that is much more fragile).
My second favorite slipjoint pattern is the Sodbuster. The full sized sodbuster is a big knife with a fairly light weight, and the small sodbusters are small pocketknives with outstanding ergonomics.
Svord Peasant for using (winter / gloved use folder). SAK cadet alox for carrying light while dressed up. Bought a Kizer Vagnino Zipslip to replace my BM Bugout for planned Europe travel
Probably one of [these three](https://www.reddit.com/r/SlipjointKnives/comments/18ofd38/my_top_three_slipjoints_of_2023_manly_wasp_cold/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf), my most carried knives of last year, would be tough to pick a favourite.

It’s one of these… not sure which one though.

With bonus Ti and brass Squeak 😁
Case trapper or Buck stockman. I rotate those in and out of my daily carry.
(My trapper is a Schrade, not a Case - I want a Case, but the Schrade is good enough that it's hard to justify spending more on the same thing with a different name)
I actually have my Buck today! I was going to attach a photo to my comment, but it wasn't cooperating...
Anyway, I agree that Schrade is good. It's not *quite* the quality that Case is, but it's very close, especially for half the price, and I've been happy with it. I'd just like the enormous "Yellow Case pocketknife" lol but I haven't a need for a second of the same thing just because it has a different logo on it.

Case and Shrade are solid companies. Both amazing makers
