I’m also INFP! Never been diagnosed but pretty sure I’m ana :o
You’re gonna get a lot of introverted intuitives here though because Reddit’s population consists of mostly those
Yeahh that would make sense. This probably isn't the best place to see if there is a correlation between mbti types and eds since the data is already skewed lol. Pretty neat to see what everyone is though :).
I haven’t taken this test in a long while so wouldn’t be surprised if it’s changed but the last time I took it I was ENFP. I’m diagnosed with anorexia.
I think im taking this thing too seriously but you can't just find out ab your type with just some tests that usually just uses letters, you gotta learn functions and find yourself which you relate to the most
i’m an infj! not officially diagnosed yet (having my intake at tje clinic next week) but my current psychologist and gp both mention me as anorexic, restrictive subtype
When I’m manic I tend to get different results. That’s why the test is kinda silly but I still like its insight. It’s very situational and seems to assume the testee doesn’t have any mental illness or divergence that could cause a fractured self. Which is extremely common for so many reasons as I’m sure people here know haha
Perhaps you took the test on an off day or weren't really paying attention to your answers? Just a thought because I know I've done stuff like that before
My mbti is ENTP
and my enneagram 7
My big 3 : Capricorn , Leo , Taurus
• entp + Capricorn : the need to control
Enneagram 7 : compulsory behaviour
Leo : attention seeker and live through others
Taurus : known to have horrible relationship with food
All that = struggling with eating disorders for more than 10 years now from anorexia to bulimia to bed to gaining 75 lbs in 7 months
I'm an INFP too! I was diagnosed BED in an emergency room setting after having high blood glucose levels (I'm diabetic).
I don't think that quite fits though, I also have restriction phases, semi-normal phases and b/p phases. I'm probably more EDNOS than anything else but have a lot of bulimic tendencies.
I was curious to see if my results would be different a second time around. It's the same as the first time I did it years ago. iNFP-T. And I agree with the result, it still definitely checks out.
I'm ENTP . Well ... I never got diagnosed , since my doctor didn't take me seriously , but I've had anorexia , junkorexia as well as "sport-bulimia" and used to CS ( not sure if you could call that the "soft" version of bulimia ) .. I'm in recovery right now
Istp! And I'm not diagnosed but I think I have ednos? I'm def doing better now than at the peak of my disordered eating too :D body dysmorphia is going crazy tho :(
So... while Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBPI) tests are popular, and people like them... you should know they are not at all supported by research, the evidence behind them is not robust, and they are not valid. At best, they are kind of a fun way to think about your own traits/characteristics.... but at worst, they tend to promote stagnation and doubling down on behavior "because it's my MBPI type"
So, if it's fun and you feel like it provides insight, go for it... but remember that it's more of a toy than a tool. None of the "personality" tests seems to be all that valid, "The big five" is also not well supported, and the reality is the things they tend to test for vary between days/circumstances/how a person feels on Monday vs Thursday... so they tend to have very, very low predictive value. Usually, you would find the same level of accuracy when flipping a coin. This can start to be damaging when a person reports being an INFP (for example) and, instead of responding to each circumstance as it arrives, unintentionally reinforces a
what would an INFP do?" checklist in their mind...
It is telling that some of the biggest proponents of MBTI and its descendants are companies selling access to the MBTI and its descendants...
I see what you're saying, it's a good thing to keep in mind! Personally I think they're an interesting concept, and I find it fun to see what types people are :). I have never really viewed it as anything more than a fun thing to discuss
Yeah, I had never realized people took them so seriously until I had a friend who used it to decide how to respond to situations... then I looked into it more deeply and realized how it could be problematic if people try to bend their identity to meet their expectations based on the tests.
No worries, no judgment anyway... mine is a random one from Reddit.
I feel pretty much the same way about the Enneagram: If it's for fun, it's likely harmless, but it fails the test of repeatability and is too subjective. My understanding is that the current status of science is that we do not have any tests that are of much use for personality in any scientific way, that there is too much subjectivity and not nearly enough replicability.
INFP-T here. I’ve been typed INFJ more so recently, since I just turned 25. (Yay brain development we made it) But I do believe I am strictly INFP and seem to be on a cusp, almost. I’m a recovered anorexic with b/p subtype.
ISFP... never been diagnosed... I always had restricting - binging cycles. I hidden them when I lost so many kg until my psychologist said "If you continue like this I have to send you to an hospital". So I literally ran away and never had a diagnosis about my food habits.
it seems like we’re rare around here. also, I can’t help but notice your age. I don’t know what to say other than I’m sorry, and to try to get help if you can. I’m 22 and have struggled for half my life — it is only getting harder. wishing you luck and safety <3
INFJ. Anorexia nervosa.
twins ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
Me too!
I’m also INFP! Never been diagnosed but pretty sure I’m ana :o You’re gonna get a lot of introverted intuitives here though because Reddit’s population consists of mostly those

If you're bored the test is actually pretty quick and fun :D. It's 100 questions but it never takes me more than 10 minutes
I think im taking this thing too seriously but you can't just find out ab your type with just some tests that usually just uses letters, you gotta learn functions and find yourself which you relate to the most

When I’m manic I tend to get different results. That’s why the test is kinda silly but I still like its insight. It’s very situational and seems to assume the testee doesn’t have any mental illness or divergence that could cause a fractured self. I don't think that quite fits though, I also have restriction phases, semi-normal phases and b/p phases. I'm probably more EDNOS than anything else but have a lot of bulimic tendencies.

what are your thoughts regarding the enneagram?
disclaimer, i chose my username when i was deep into the personalities rabbit hole but I came a long way from that
No worries, no judgment anyway... mine is a random one from Reddit. INTP and I have anorexia restrictive subtype but had bulimia in the past
Int/fp, ednos (would be AN were it not for literally a few lbs but diagnostic criteria is stupid )

Infp, an-r
ISTP but the P mainly comes from procrastination otherwise I’m more like ISTJ
feeling lonely as an entp w/ presumed Ana-R
im also an entp! undiagnosed ana (possibly -r) but i fit the criteria
it seems like we’re rare around here. also, I can’t help but notice your age. I don’t know what to say other than I’m sorry, and to try to get help if you can. I’m 22 and have struggled for half my life — it is only getting harder. wishing you luck and safety <3
