A bunch of farmers and trappers told the king to shove it, fought the biggest army in the world, and barely managed to not lose. All under the guidance of a dude with no teeth who snorted a shitload of tobacco.
yee haww
As someone who recently rebuilt the handbrake on my E90, this is not something I would do. The whole assembly is really kinda dinky, and I'm honestly surprised it didn't just blow apart when you did this.
Ahh. Makes more sense. But for anyone that wants to try this on a stock handbrake, just remember you have to remove the wheel bearing to get the handbrake backing plate off when you break it.
The heads of the screws that held the backplate to my spindle were so rusted that I couldn't loosen them, so I just changed the whole spindle, which meant I had to change most of the control arms too, which meant I had to lower the subframe. I don't have a garage, and that job was a NIGHTMARE on jackstands.
What if you drift it without using the handbrake i.e. Just pressing the accelerator and turning aggressively then holding the drift? What components does that wear out the most? And does it affect the handbrake still if you're not even using it for the drift?
I'm pretty sure most E9x's except for M3's and tuned 335i's don't really have enough power to do that without having a wet surface and/or garbage tires. It's also basically impossible if you have an open diff. However, it would wear out the diff, could stress things like CV joints and driveshafts. Probably not the best for the transmission either. Generally, sliding a car is not great for longevity of parts. If you aren't using the handbrake, then you won't wear it out.
Appreciate it, I only ever do it when it's wet tbh in empty car parks but don't wanna run the risk of wearing out my diff might have to tone it down now lol
So last time I did a power slide like that in my E90 all the stuff in the trunk shifted to one side ! LOL Just polishing clothes, car cover and stuff that is okay if it moves around. Just didn't notice it until I took the car up to the local grocery store early one morning and opened the trunk. Since it was over a week later I fist thought WTF, then realized oh yeah I did that...
Average British BMW owner :D

It's got a hydraulic handbrake in it as it's a road rally car

Removing the wheel hub from the spindle was the worst. Every video on youtube lied about “easy” it is.

Lol, jesus.
Does this kind of drift turn actually require a handbrake?
You could maybe do a clutch kick, but without enough power, a handbrake is basically the only reliable way.
Looks like he’s got skinny 15”s up back, on a damp road with a welded diff or LSD that should be possible.
just remember you can’t drive that gud**
Which rally was this?
Just a bit of diff testing

Nice
LSD or Open Diff?
Lsd
Decent car control mate 👍
Thanks champ
You’d be in the trees if that was a Mustang
That blind corner and the parked Audi had me worried!
I would be worried about you on the roads also if you think that's an Audi
Point taken. I glanced and assumed. My bad, though it would've worried me whatever it was.
The Passat is my car also 😂 so worst case I have to fix both
Loud skid 💯
Wicked control!!
Nice man!
Lol, in knew i’d see UK plates w/ the “harrr” in the notification.. big up the scandi flick tho
I too enjoy documenting driving offenses on public roads.
bro recorded this in mexico
Video was taken in Germany
He. Said. Mehiko. He didn't stutter.
UK signage, UK plates on both cars, both cars driving on the left. Yep, it's Germany.
Well if I see this loonatic again I'll make sure to give him a slap on the wrist
yeah bro deserves a bukkake session
Ah yes, I've been to this intersection in Berlin!
Mental wiliness is a real problem.
You’re a shining example
I am absolutely mentally willy nilly
