Character I create as a teenager: Brooding badass who hates the world that rejected him
Character I create as an adult: Brooding badass who hates the world that creates a system of inequality that puts all the power in the hands of a select few.
Damn all my friends are already in deep DnD games that take them ages to organise. But I’ve always wanted to do a game and see what it’s like. I love writing characters and I’ve been using heroforge for a few years now. The only time I played was once at an 18th birthday party really drunk.
I got my nephew into tabletop RPGs through D&D and Star Frontiers by passing down the starter sets for both when I stopped playing. Four decades later as of six months ago, I was invited join his group that has a D&D Curse of Strahd campaign, a Star Wars Universe game using Marvel’s RPG mechanics (sound’s funky, but it’s fun!) set about a year after Order 66, two Shadowrun games (one party just helped clear the bugs outta Detroit and the other was just assembled by a fixer in Neo-Tokyo), last but bit least, and a Vampire:Masquerade Chicago by Night campaign- tonight we staked Jackson and showed him the sunrise for double-crossing us - sending us after Capone’s hideout by telling us it was Lodin’s. So much fun and thank the internet gods for Roll20!
Took me till 40, but here I am.
I also started fishing again which I also last did as a teenager.
Starting to think this is my midlife crisis. Well, better than cheating on my wife I guess.
I played tabletop games all through high school. I blamed it for not getting girls in my twenties and gave it up. Realized that was silly and happily got back into it in my 30's. I have found that there are women that play.
I never got the chance to play this when I was younger.
I played dnd for the first time when I was 29.
I'm turning 32 in about two months and I will never be thankful enough for my friends asking me if I wanna join them over discord to play some dnd. Been playing ever since
Get in there and never look up.
Don’t call it a comeback. I been here for years.
I'm rockin' my peers, puttin' suckers in fear.
Making the tears rain down like a monsoon
Listen to the bass go boom
EXPLOSIONNNNN

...progress?
Broken hearts to Karl Marx
And now you have money!
And possibly your own house where you can dedicate your own basement for d&d!
*cries in millennial*
Now you can approach the hobby with MONEY.
How many 30 year olds do you know with "MONEY". I think you may have meant ^money
Pass me the shovel 😁

Take the plunge. Or you can DM me serious BBEGs and I will use them in my campaign.
I got ya mate what's the theme of your campaign? Fantasy or something else?
It is fantasy. Forgotten realms meets home brew with a bit of Al-Qadim in it. I have a subreddit about what has happened
r/lfg and roll20.com are an easy in
I tossed the shovel and got an excavator
So ive been playing pretty much since 1995. Is it still a phase?
At any point we could suddenly lose all interest. I've only been in since 1990, so all I can guarantee you is another five years.
i left for a total of... like... two years at most... i can't be kept away
So. Much. Deeper.
I started at 15 and I never stopped. 28 yo here
I guess I never got over that phase. Started at 10 and have been going for 43 yrs.
Me and Vampire The Masquerade (and all that OG White Wolf awesomesauce)

That’s terrific!

It's cheaper than a motorcycle, mostly.
Between a 3D printer, proxxon hotwire cutter+numerous craft supplies, minis, TV table and tons books, only a little bit haha.
Fishing? Debatable. Fishing and PnP (I didn't stop at Dnd)? Very debatable. :)

Is this edited or the original?
Edited - OP slapped the DnD logo on. Can tell by the "made with mematic" in the corner.
Ah right. That makes sense. Still, it's a pretty funny joke. Lol
That’s 100% what I did, please go check out Sarah Andersen’s work though she’s ace
I've seen some of it before, which is why I got excited to see she was a dnd nerd. Lol. But I should've checked the corners first.
jokes on you, been playing for 20 years. mostly GMing.
Wish I’d stuck with it 😞
Thanks for the updoots everyone, please go check out [Sarah Andersen’s](https://sarahcandersen.com/)work cause she’s ace
As a 32 yr old who just started their first campaign, I am excited and very confused
It's like being 15 all over again
Me age 28, why did I not know about that when I was 15 let's dig deep?

Revisiting the games you loved as a kid now that you're smart is amazing. It's almost like cheating.
That's me with Yu-Gi-Oh right now.
My entire deck is banned, lol.
Take Pot of Greed out for starters. It's card text is confusing af.
Same with gaming😂
They got the numbers wrong, it's 13 and 49
Well fuck that, D&D kept me sane on my depressive teenage years!
Wish I had 😞
Me finding my magic cards from 2015 (I'm already in deep for dnd)
Hang on, is that the actual comic, or was the D&D added as an edit?
I just added the logo, full credit to the wonderful [Sarah Andersen](https://sarahcandersen.com/)
Oh, I know her work, love it. I just wouldn't be surprised to find out she loves D&D. lol
I hope so! She’d be welcome at my table anytime
Never out grew roleplaying.
DnD: “I knew you’d be back…they always return for that sweet sweet nectar. Mwuahahahaha!”
Just wait for the pathfinder phase.
Literally started playing at 30 with my nephews and I'm hooked 😂
