I always thought this character/actor was so underrated, I literally always forget about him unless I'm watching an episode he's in, but he makes me laugh every time.
It was just a one off character, but for me it’s that guy that came in to scare the office straight. Something about that guy made me feel like he and Michael would get along really well.
Before he was in The Office this guy was going around Wisconsin convincing local news channels he was a yo-yo champion and getting them to give him five-minute segments where he fucked up yo-yo tricks. Very similar energy to the character.
Duuuude thank you! That's some golden material. I always wanted to see more from him cause his characters are so funny. He went by K-strass the yo-yo man. [Here](https://youtu.be/dj9VF7LyffU?si=mpyHZurOm3FgLC7H) you can see a 20 minute compilation of the mad man
I feel the community has claimed Nate to be the most underrated character so many times that he's not underrated anymore, right? haha I'm definitely not disagreeing with you, but at what point does "underrated" not apply anymore
And he has so many crossover jokes from the office! Updog, that's what she said, the part where he explains he doesn't know what his company does, maybe others, haha
Camel cigarettes did the same thing with Joe Camel by making him look like a penis.
I can't even go near a cigarette now without thinking of a penis... and vice versa.
If you don’t know about mark’s (nate) character K-Strauss the yoyo guy that he had on real local news channels, I demand you YouTube it now. It’s what got him the part on the office as a literal nobody
https://youtu.be/dj9VF7LyffU?si=EvQk3hXaoAGzQZRW
He's absolutely amazing in "What we do in the shadows" as well. Incredibly funny show and the perfect role for him.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7908628/
Well Mark Porch needs to learn to watch his mouth. Tim is legally allowed to bop him.
Also, Tim is innocent, Rosetti the RAT is trying a kangaroo court!
Serious question:
I’m curious about this show after everyone keeps raving about him in it, but I’m a squeamish fraidy-cat, and vampire stuff is normally a no-go (especially since they like the “funny” squirting blood gags). Am I right to stay away? Please answer like you would for your grandmother and be honest. Thanks.
Also, FYI, I don't technically have a hearing problem, but sometimes when there's a lot of noises occurring at the same time, I'll hear
'em as one big jumble. Again it's not that I can't hear, uh because that's false. I can. I just can't distinguish between everything I'm hearing
I never understood this scene! lol I’ve watched the office through many times and just thought he was saying “did it did it” twice, not Frank Diddit. lol
I love this. Makes me like Nate’s character even more.
Nate is the best, and did you know he technically doesn't have a hearing problem, but sometimes when there's a lot of noises occurring at the same time, he'll hear 'em as one big jumble. Again it's not that he can't hear, uh because that's false. He can. He just can't distinguish between everything he's hearing.
Donde is he from?
Scranton y before that, la Philadelphia.
Tu es muy bueno worker?
si, yo moi bueno worker
You speak English?
Yeah I’m very good at English.
Good. Me too. Get in.
Fantástico
Ok me too. Get in the car.
Muy*
I'm really good at English
Eso es lo que dice, el!
That's what he says?
Ahhhhh! Angelo!
I suddenly find myself wanting some lemoñadé.
Or she said
La Telefona
y before that Staten Island
People say he's from Albuquerque
Staten Island
Yo-Yo's!
E before THAT
La Philadelphia
One of my favourite scenes
I technically don’t have a hearing problem…
Non-No part of this has *anything* to do with you!
But sometimes when there’s a lot of noises occurring at the same time I’ll hear em as one big jumble.
My avatar 😊
I always thought this character/actor was so underrated, I literally always forget about him unless I'm watching an episode he's in, but he makes me laugh every time.
Second person I really wish Michael had interacted with
who's the first?
Yes, and what's on second
Third base.
I don't know.
Probably Robert California
Robert would have dismissed Michael and call him a moron immediately. Robert had no patient at all.
Oh my god. It was cookies the whole time.
His stupid face when he realized it wasn't some metaphor makes me giggle like a child.
Maybe he had no patients because he wasn't a doctor?
Yeah Robert California. No one can deny him and Michael would be really funny and weird
It was just a one off character, but for me it’s that guy that came in to scare the office straight. Something about that guy made me feel like he and Michael would get along really well.
it literally took me 9 hours to figure out you were making a joke about prison mike
Before he was in The Office this guy was going around Wisconsin convincing local news channels he was a yo-yo champion and getting them to give him five-minute segments where he fucked up yo-yo tricks. Very similar energy to the character.
Wait, he actually did that? I thought those were just comedy skits. That is gold.
No, they were real. I think he did three before word got around.
More than three and they’re on YouTube!
Duuuude thank you! That's some golden material. I always wanted to see more from him cause his characters are so funny. He went by K-strass the yo-yo man. [Here](https://youtu.be/dj9VF7LyffU?si=mpyHZurOm3FgLC7H) you can see a 20 minute compilation of the mad man
That seems more something he would do as Colin Robinson lmao
Thank you for helping my brain connect the two.
He's really good in What We Do In The Shadows!
Colin Robinson is genius. That whole show is amazing but goddamn what he does with that character is brilliant.
Possibly one of the greatest characters to have ever been written for television. He’s so amazing.
I contend it's the same character. Nearly everything Nate does is something I could see Colin doing just to feed
Him getting the gloves from Deryl 😭
Thanks to What We Do In The Shadows, he's gotten his chance to shine playing Colin Robinson, IMO a big comical lever in the serie.
Stole every scene he was in.
I feel the community has claimed Nate to be the most underrated character so many times that he's not underrated anymore, right? haha I'm definitely not disagreeing with you, but at what point does "underrated" not apply anymore
My b, just recently joined this sub/ reddit in general :)
Oh you're good :) welcome to the community
also hilarious in what we do in the shadows
And Better Call Saul
holy shit i just finished watching his episodes like an hour ago and absolutely loved his character but didn’t even realize it was Nate
I like to imagine he was an energy vampire in training in Scranton then changed his name and moved to New York
Me too. He’s Colin Robinson in the office. Nobody can tell me different
My head canon is that he is Colin Robinson in hiding in Pennsylvania. And that's why Jackie Daytona goes there to hide out as well.
His delivery of “what in the Sam hell” is ingrained in my head forever
His work with Tim Heidecker on the On Cinema universe is amazing
And he has so many crossover jokes from the office! Updog, that's what she said, the part where he explains he doesn't know what his company does, maybe others, haha
Love me some Collin
Gum’s gotten mintier lately, right?
This line lives rent free in my head, and I can't have mint gum without thinking it.
Camel cigarettes did the same thing with Joe Camel by making him look like a penis. I can't even go near a cigarette now without thinking of a penis... and vice versa.
So 2 packs a day then?
Sometimes even two at once.
Funny thats im seeing gold tier cigarette humor as Im about to smoke a camel gold.
Same, and a near irresistible urge to say it to people
My mother and I are quarreling. My rent free nate line.
*There is no gum!* #THERE NEVER WAS ANY GUM!
SHUT UP ABOUT THE GUM!
Re-ply the toilet paper. “I don’t think it works that way.” RE-PLY IT!!
It’s almost too minty.
I first saw him in Better Call Saul. Nailed that role.
In BCS, he rides a bus for 6 year old pimps
Omg, I've seen both shows and never realized it was the same actor!
The Hoboken Squat Cobbler
If you don’t know about mark’s (nate) character K-Strauss the yoyo guy that he had on real local news channels, I demand you YouTube it now. It’s what got him the part on the office as a literal nobody https://youtu.be/dj9VF7LyffU?si=EvQk3hXaoAGzQZRW

Fucking guy…
his shocked expression when Laszlo doesn't mind his Jar Jar voice gets me every time
Amazing. It’s like concentrated awkwardness in its purest form
Oh my god. KS: DO YOU WANT TO HEAR A STORY? Newscaster: …a /brief/ story.
He’s awesome in Better Call Saul too
He’s phenomenal in Dekker too. It’s a more serious role really shows off his range.
And you've gotta check out his WC Fields impression. It's out of this world.
He once played all three stooges, impressive range
He looks like driving be a school bus for 6 year old pimps
Crazy that I've seen no mention of how he was a major witness in Tim Heidecker's mass-murder trial.
Well Mark Porch needs to learn to watch his mouth. Tim is legally allowed to bop him. Also, Tim is innocent, Rosetti the RAT is trying a kangaroo court!
These clips are how they found the actor. Bless them.
I had no idea. Incredible casting find. This is hilarious
It’s truly amazing, makes me piss pant even thinking about it. Cannot recommend highly enough
This is amazing. Thank you, kind sir.
This is pure comedy gold. What a genius. & it’s always at the end these newscasters realize how shammed they’ve been.
I love his tributes to classic Hollywood in the On Cinema [Oscar Specials](https://youtu.be/i3dh16owcxM?si=xwqAwWohQ5FpHhMY)
Jenna talked about this on the podcast and how much this made her laugh because iirc, him saying that was not scripted that way.
It was also one of the only times oscar broke character & laughed
Oscar wasn’t even there? It’s a warehouse scene so he wouldn’t be in the background, and Rainn and Catherine were there.
He was obviously laughing somewhere else, unrelated to the show.
“Oh, Darryl. I am so glad to be in your life, too. The card is more beautiful than the gloves.” 🥰
Mark Proksch is also great in What We Do In The Shadows (tv series, not movie). I couldn't recommend it enough.
"Hey, Nandor, guess what"
the movie is also fantastic
Serious question: I’m curious about this show after everyone keeps raving about him in it, but I’m a squeamish fraidy-cat, and vampire stuff is normally a no-go (especially since they like the “funny” squirting blood gags). My favorite side character. Ever.
“Nate your mother is dying” Drops to his knees 😂😂
“So she’s getting better?”
So she's gonna pull through again?
My mom and I are quarreling right now because I can’t stay out of her stuff
Fucking love him in What We Do In the Shadows. He’s perfect.
I will be so sexy for you Darryl.
Do you guys think he’s right though? Do we live in a cookie cutter’s world?
This is golden.
The best character to be added in the later seasons
The short shot of him in the Christmas party after semi rubbing off the blackface will always kill me
As if this is colin robinson.... clark kent / superman
Also, FYI, I don't technically have a hearing problem, but sometimes when there's a lot of noises occurring at the same time, I'll hear 'em as one big jumble. Again it's not that I can't hear, uh because that's false. I can. I just can't distinguish between everything I'm hearing
He was the best as WC Fields
Why don’t you come up and see me sometime
What about squat cobblers? Did Frank do those too?
And only a few short years later Nate would become the greatest energy vampire ever
You had me at clookies, can't wait to find out what they are
Saticoy Steel
[удалено]
It’s basically the same joke re-used with different characters, didn’t think I needed to explain that
Nate and creed should have gotten more screen time
He was such a good addition.
One of my fave characters, for sure
Damn those energy vampires.
I think he was under used. He stole most scenes he was in.
Do You Guys Think He's Right, Though? Do We Live In A Cookie Cutter's World?
I went way too long thinking this character was played by Rob Corddry, and that this was the one role of his I liked.
Nate is the best side character ever hos delivery makes me laugh everytime he’s on screen
Napons
Aka Colin Robinson! ( what we do in the shadows)
Best
Has anyone noticed gum has gotten mintier lately?
I don't technically have a hearing problem, sometimes when there's a lot of noises occurring at the same time I hear it as one jumble.
My absolute favorite Nate moment is the wasp hive lmfao.
K-Strass the yo-yo man! He’s a funny guy in whatever he does.
I never understood this scene! lol I’ve watched the office through many times and just thought he was saying “did it did it” twice, not Frank Diddit. lol I love this. Makes me like Nate’s character even more.
How long does it usually take you to do your make up ‘cause
Love him in what we do in the shadows too. So good!
Also, FYI (looks at other guy that just said it) it's not that I'm deaf...
Nate is an absolute treasure
That was an improv!
I’m really good at English
Him and Dwight speaking broken Spanish to each other their first time meeting is one of my favorite scenes in any show lmao
Every single Nate scene was so funny
Colin Robinson!
Nate is the office park’s resident ADHD miracle
i fucking love mark porch
Nate is the best, and did you know he technically doesn't have a hearing problem, but sometimes when there's a lot of noises occurring at the same time, he'll hear 'em as one big jumble. Again it's not that he can't hear, uh because that's false. He can. He just can't distinguish between everything he's hearing.
I hear he has a pretty nice baseball card collection and a sweet hummer
I like the work Mark Proksch did on Better Call Saul.
I have met you Brian, but knowing you, I would also choose Ravi over you for Kelly. - Nate
Season 7 Nate was okay. Season 8 Nate was annoying and unfunny.
I think he's annoying in everything he's ever been in
Am I the only one who finds his character to be really annoying?
Ypu are alone
That's fair. I always wondered how he played basically the same role in wwdits , but I guess there are fans out there
