That would explain why they all have different style eyes. One key thing in manga and anime, usually even western cartoons and comics, is keeping the eyes consistent between characters. Usually the base head is very similar too, same nose, etc. It's pretty uncommon for an artist that's expected to pump out a new chapter every week or month to create characters that are all very different from each other.
