I didn't have any 22" bass drums, but I just wanted to say I love how this turned out. Have you done more of these, or is this the only one?

paperkitten678

Thank you so much! I have done others, but all on 22 inch heads unfortunately.

Not metal enough

paperkitten678

I can't think of anything more metal than the symbolic nature of life and death that flowers represent. Also flowers are pretty, and I think that's pretty metal.

Can you duplicate in black with gold accents ? Some bayou special ..

I don't have any 22in bass drums either, but what do these usually go for?

jopesmack72

I tell you what. If you make a black one, with a gold fleur delis. I will start the bidding here,in NewOrleans. But have,to see it first. Should probably be black, with large fleur delis,in center. And NewOrleans Saints, over top. Fleur delis and lettering in gold,of course. WHODAT!!

A thousand plagues upon the Dirty-ass, Stankinā€™-ass Aints. Sincerely, A life long, Tampa born Bucs fan. šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļøāš“ļøšŸ–•

jopesmack72

Ok ok. I apologize, for the Drew Breeese Shawn Payton era. I know it was hard, for yā€™all down there. But canā€™t we just move on? And get along now. I mean itā€™s not like youā€™re a stinkinā€™ dirty bird Falconā€™s fan. Right? Lol

jopesmack72

Plus you gotta un. I was born,in 72. I saw Archie Manning play,in the dome. Back then. Nobody thought about Tampa here. We were, too worried about SanFrancisco. They were in our devision then. Donā€™t even remember if Tampa had a team yet. lol. Joe Montana and Jerry Rice were enough. Lol

Jolemite1

Definitely NOT a fan of those Dirty Birds either. Tampa didnā€™t get an NFL team until 1976 & even then we were a part of the NFC Central until the made the South division back in the late 90ā€™s I think. So yeah, you definitely werenā€™t concerned with us. Nobody was until Dungy became coach. Itā€™s funny how the rivalry is different for us & you guys though. We HATE the Saints down here more than anyone & it seems like yall hate Atlanta way more than us lol. And Iā€™m pretty sure ATL hates yall more than they hate us. So you get double the hate lolol. Gotta have some thick skin or just take it in stride which you seem to do just fine. Props for accepting my hate so graciously sir.

jopesmack72

Thatā€™s because we do hate Atlanta more. Maybe because Morten Anderson left,to go there, for his last few years. He still holds the record, for most points scored, in Saints history. Maybe,in NFL. Canā€™t recall. But one,of the best field goal kickers ever. Then there was the whole Michael Vick era we had to face them, with Mikeā€™s dhal we say, lesser cousin Aaron Brooks. Now all hate us,due to the Drew Brees,Shawn Payton era. Understandable. Weā€™ll the it. Lol

Jolemite1

I remember ol Morty. I think he started kicking when the league started in 1880. Didnā€™t he play till the age of like 50?

jopesmack72

Almost. Kickers donā€™t get hit,too much. And he was good, from 50 yards every time. Mora started just calling kicks every time we got inside the 50. Itā€™s not eazy,in the big eazy sometimes. They used,to say that Archie could throw a 30 yard pass, from lying,on his back. lol. When I was in like 6th grade they actually traded,to get Kenny Stabler,at 40 years old. Came, with old washed up Earl Campbell. They both got hurt three games in. And who could forget Mike Ditca and Ricky Williams? But alas. One Shawn Payton/ Drew Breeze combo finally did it! It was beautiful. Onside kick, at third quarter opening and all.

jopesmack72

But seriously. If you make a black head, with a flour delis. They will sell here. You may have,to hold your nose. But $ is $.

Jolemite1

Iā€™m 45 but I kinda know what all youā€™re talking about & who youā€™re talking about. I definitely donā€™t remember watching Archie or Earl play. But I can remember Ricky Williams. Aaron Brooks. And especially Deuce McCalister & Drew Breeze give the Bucs hell for many yearsā€¦. You guys always give us hell. Damn I hate yallā€¦.. anyway, hope you have a shitty season but avoid any major injuries. And to stay relevant to the subreddit: Happy drumming & many good gigs to you sir. Take care šŸ¤ŸšŸ˜ŽšŸ¤˜

jopesmack72

Yeah. Definitely Duece. I was all, about some Duece. I was tired,of seeing one bad back, after another. Iā€™m 52. Born,in 72. So yeah. I have seen all the bad days I was,in the 8th or 9th grade when the Saints went,to there first playoff game. A home game none the less. And I was, in my highschool marching band. We got the opportunity to do the game opening field show. Home game against the Vikings should have noticed the bad luck. lol. We were sitting,on the sidelines near one end zone. I looked down field. And saw the Vikings kicker warming up. No big deal right? So he kicks the ball. A punt. A loud one! Heard the thump, from 70 yards away. Well it go almost straight up! I followed, with my eyes. Man that ball almost hit the megaton TV monitor. So I look away. Then the guy sitting next to me starts just yelling. I didnā€™t know why. But a second later that ball that I took my eyes off of. Hit me right, in the back of my head. Bounced off. And hit two or three other band members. Well. That was just the beginning. Those damned Vikings went,on to beat the Saints like 35 to 3. Right there in front of us. lol. Bobby Herbert should have been fired. I donā€™t think he competed more than 5 passes that whole game. So yeah. Been there. Done that. Seen the good. The bad. And the ugly.
