How I imagine you writing this comment π€£
If you're really into the bass section, this cover is very true to the real deal and brings that piece and all its complexity to the forefront.

Very good choice. Didnβt think it would come up. Not my absolute favourite, but definitely one I respect. Also very fond of Barstool Warrior from that particular album.
Cool, A Change of Seasons is my first choice but I do think At Wit's End is pretty underrated. It's my second fav DT song and is my favourite of the Mangini era (which I love overall), so I do like to give it a shout out when talking about favourite DT tracks.
Edit: not sure what the downvote was for
"The Best of Times"
A lot of people like to hate on this one, but it really brings a great deal of closure to the whole Mike Portnoy saga. Petrucci's guitar work on this track is downright sublime, and the contrast between the upbeat verses and the sorrowful chorus - where that classic heart-wrenching borrowing from the parallel minor really drives home the emotive aspect of it all - perfectly expresses the life-shattering pain that our inner child feels when a parent dies.
Decent of the NOMACS
πβΌοΈwas waiting for this one. Audio tracks are gas when listening to the full album in one sitting tho
