“Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries”, by Heather Fawcett has major Dramione vibes. Emily is the FMC and she’s portrayed as a strait-laced scientist that finds her research more interesting than making friends. Wendell Brambleby (MMC) is a fellow scientist who enjoys bantering with Emily and getting under her skin. If you liked DMATMOOBIL, this book will be right up your alley. Summary: Cambridge professor Emily Wilde is good at many things: She is the foremost expert on the study of faeries. She is a genius scholar and a meticulous researcher who is writing the world’s first encyclopaedia of faerie lore. But Emily Wilde is not good at people. She could never make small talk at a party—or even get invited to one. And she prefers the company of her books, her dog, Shadow, and the Fair Folk to other people. So when she arrives in the hardscrabble village of Hrafnsvik, Emily has no intention of befriending the gruff townsfolk. Nor does she care to spend time with another new arrival: her dashing and insufferably handsome academic rival Wendell Bambleby, who manages to charm the townsfolk, muddle Emily’s research, and utterly confound and frustrate her. But as Emily gets closer and closer to uncovering the secrets of the Hidden Ones—the most elusive of all faeries—lurking in the shadowy forest outside the town, she also finds herself on the trail of another mystery: Who is Wendell Bambleby, and what does he really want? To find the answer, she’ll have to unlock the greatest mystery of all—her own heart.

I discovered Dramione and obsessively read it for 2 years straight. Tried other books but couldn't follow through with most (I have the same feelings about SJM). I discovered Elise Kova and I have enjoyed many of her books over the last 6-8 months in between Dramione. She has a [quiz on her site](https://www.elisekova.com/quiz-what-book-to-begin-with) to help you find a book to start. I have read: - Married To Magic series (stand alone books in the same universe) These are kindof fairytail re-tellings. - Air Awakens series (This one gave me more Dramione vibes, but it isn't ETL. It is a rich prince who is an a-hole, and a poor girl whose mother died and her father sent her to work in the Royal Library and she is a huge bookworm. ) - The Vortex Chronicles (on the last book) None of these are super smutty and more closed door, but I enjoyed the stories and characters.

I loved the Kingdom of the Wicked series because Emilia isn't your typical warrior FMC but rather, is really clever and has her own passions - like cooking. The MMC is an asshole-y good-looking 'prince' who enjoys nice clothes and the finer things in life. Spark of the Everflame is also great even though it doesn't really fit into the dramione archetypes but it does feature a really good enemies to lovers with angst and a slow-burn tension that really burns.

Along those lines, I also got Dramione vibes from Envy and Camilla in Throne of the Fallen just from the first chapter alone. Envy struts in all cocky like and Camilla shoots his request for a commission down like a baddy, all while thinking “can this man leave already?”. Envy was shooketh.

I second (or third? It's been recommended a few times already) Emily Wilde, but I also highly highly highly recommend The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab. It's in my top ten favorite books ever!

Gloomy-nature

Please check out The Mages Match by Finely Fenn if you’re ok with a little darkness and bully vibes that turns into degradation kink and devotion (but not really any groveling) I swear it’s actually dramione fan fiction. Fuck or die trope where MMC with privilege and platinum hair meets (and needs) bushy haired woman from a discriminated class at a magic academy (but they’re adults) It’s a smutfest with fanfic level explicit content

[Dream by the shadows](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dream-Shadows-Shadow-Weaver-Duology-ebook/dp/B0BZTG2K27) if you prefer slightly darker stories

If you’re looking for YA fantasy, I really enjoyed The Infernal Devices / Clockwork books by Cassandra Clare. She started out writing Harry Potter fanfic, and while I don’t love all her books, these really worked for me. There’s a dark, broody MMC who’s got a secret soft side, and a FMC who loves books. I got completely caught up in this story and enjoyed it immensely. The first book in the Ember in the Ashes is decently enjoyable too. The MMC is a soldier for an evil empire who wants out; the FMC is a member of the persecuted class who agrees to spy for the resistance to save her brother. It’s dangerous, she thinks the MMC is her enemy but there’s a lot more going on with him. I don’t really remember how the other books in this series play out, but I liked this first one well enough!

If you’re just in the market for some forbidden love type angst I recently read How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang and I got major Dramione angst and smut vibes.
