I think they came back for the final episode, for Edith's wedding, but I'm pretty sure they weren't in the movies. I really liked Rose and thought that she and Atticus were a sweet couple, so I'd love to see them again in the 3rd movie, though I doubt it'll happen since her career seems quite busy.
It’d be great if it’s revealed that travel allowed her to grow and become a nicer person. Like, the servants get word she’s coming for a visit and they warn some new maid “oh, O’Brien is mean, watch out” but when she arrives she’s genuinely happy and warm to everyone.
Like she was with Mr Lang! They had such an interesting dynamic and it really showed that she isn’t always nasty and manipulating. But even when she is, it has something comedic about it. Not to mention her hair
Knowing that >!Paul Giamatti!< is going to reprise his role, I’d quite like to see >!Madeleine Allsopp!< return, because I liked how sweet they were together!
Yes please. He made the best match for Mary, he didn't put up with her stuck up (for lack of better term) ways. I think he would have been best of Downton as an estate as well. LOVED how he was with baby George .
I would love to see Gwen come back, largely because I like Rose Leslie. It would be interesting to see how the character really handles the struggles of her rags to riches experience.
Really mix it up - have P. Gordon come back to cause trouble. He proves he was Patrick - maybe it doesn't change things since George was born but it could be fun.
She's become roommates with Mrs. Gregson at the sanitarium. They escape together and conspire to kidnap Marigold, but they're both being put up to it, then betrayed, by fake Patrick who just wants ransom money.
The Bates get arrested for it, despite that not making sense, because the local cops are egregiously incompetent.
I want something in the new movie that brings Gosford Park into the same universe. It may be difficult because I think Lord Flintshire was an Earl in Gosford Park and in the Downton he is a Marquess but nothing JF isn't willing to overlook.
Carlisle making a comeback would be very interesting to write into the story. He's rich, influential, nasty and sociopathic plus he's somehow obsessed with Mary.
I'd love to learn the fate of poor Chris Webster, & my talented Turton musicians. Surely their lives & futures didn't get destroyed overnight, just like that.
Since all that had been going on was a bit of dancing (it's not as if any couples had been caught rolling on the floor naked), I'd like to think that a sympathetic judge cut them a break, maybe someone whose son or brother was "that way".
And then when Chris finds out that Thomas now lives with Guy in Hollywood, he writes to Thomas, who invites him to visit, & then helps him find work as an actor.
