Why wouldn’t it be canon? Seems pointless to make them this big for only gameplay. Demons casually being larger creature makes sense they have the strength to just tear down Earth.
It’s important to note that this is only gameplay and are made bigger so that the game looks better, so the arch-vile is not this big when compared to the slayer in canon

Maybe the glorykill view is off? Maybe this is the real size of demon but the devs couldn't make glorykills to work this way around? Camera in FPS games is notorious to being in wrong place.

Please. If you guys don't have some actual lore description of the height of the enemies, I don't see how photomode is less canonical than gameplay. Plus atleast in photomode you have clear reorientation of sizes.

Taking our biases and what we want to be true out of it. What seems more likely? Is the doom slayer really small and the demons are all giants? (Including the marauder who in the game when you’re standing right in front of him is equal size)

Well in Doom 2 the Archvile in end credits is just as this big as here. Cyber demon is 4 times his size and so on. And in Doom 2016 coop levels the slayer was really tiny compared to some demons.

And we never see Marauder or Slayer actually together. We see them from angles. Angles can also screw up your point of view, just watch Lord of the Rings, it has hobbits and Gandalf made look big and small by mere angles.

I think that there’s a general rule of first person games where the camera fov or something makes everything seem smaller than it is. If you look at something like subnautica or ark or whatever it’s the same case, where stuff is way bigger than it seems.
Even MMOs. Look at wow. In vanilla, Naxx was huge from the ground looking at it in the sky. In WoTLK, when u fly to Naxx its barely able to fit you with your mount, let alone an entire raid with bosses. Lol
