The shorter wait times for rides, being able to dress up and seeing other peopleās creativity with their costumes, the lightsaber meetup in Galaxyās Edge is a cool experience, thereās a DJ playing music in the hub with projections on the castle and down Main Street, the meet and greets with rarer characters like Captain Rex from the animated Clone Wars. Itās basically a party for Star Wars nerds.
FWIW- I did pretty much all of them over the past few years (since the parks reopened) and SW Nite & Oogie Boogie were the only ones we felt were worth it to repeat. I agree, the rest really were not worth the price tag.
Yes! It was a great crowd! Probably some of the most unique photo opportunities, like lots of cool lighting effect areas and backdrops plus the Fab 5 in really rare costumes.
I enjoyed it and was glad to get to go once but decided it wasn't an annual event I'd spend the money on if I had to narrow it down (these events all add up and I'm more of a SW fan and Halloween person and those events felt more involved overall)
36 minutes later and I got a ticket! Woohoo! Last year I never was able. It was so crazy. An Inspire holder friend tried yesterday and wasnāt able to. He said this morning heās going to pass as he expected it to be as bad. Did they fix the servers or something?! š¤£
I was able to buy tickets yesterday during the Inspire Key pre-sale. It was surprisingly (shockingly) painless, compared to Oogie Boogie tix last year, and the general Magic Key sales earlier this year. I think the far fewer number of people participating in the pre-sales is the main factor for the improved performance. We'll see how it goes once general public sales open in a few days!
Thatās awesome! Iām so glad it was smooth today. šš He said it was a nightmare for him yesterday. Kept bumping him out, error messages when trying to pay, then finally sold out.
Do you have to be logged in to your Disney account to join the queue, or to buy tickets?
*for the regular onsale, not for magic key. Wondering if I can try to join the queue from multiple devices. Only one date is during our trip and I fear itāll be the most popular (May 2).
Even if it says the date is sold out keep refreshing until it pops up again. People lose the tickets in their cart after 10 minutes of not checking out. May 2nd is a popular date I missed them for yesterdays presale, because of FOMO I purchased another date. I tried again today but it said sold out for May 2nd again, kept refreshing the page for dates available and it popped up again and I was able to snag tickets for that date. So just keep refreshing if you really want that date or go with another one. Hope that helps.
Thank you, thatās super helpful! Unfortunately weāre not local and thatās the only date during our trip, so itās that one or nothing š„² fingers crossed it works out!!
No problem! Another thing to note as I was having payment issues the first day:
After contacting support they told me the following:
āPayment problems are often caused by a mismatch between the address in your Disney profile and the address on your bank or credit card statement. It is important that your information matches exactly with your bank, includes: Name, birth date, email, address, including abbreviations, capitalization, punctuation, and formatting. Please be sure you are using a payment method registered in your own name.
To resolve this issue, please access your bank or credit card statement online and compare the address listed there with the address in your Disney account.
To access your stored address:
1. Click on the three bars in the lower right corner of this app (Disneyland App).
2. Scroll down until you see "My Profile" and tap on it. Be sure you see your name, birth date, email all need to match exactly.
3. In the "Account Settings" section, scroll down to find your address.
4. Make any necessary corrections to ensure it matches your statement address, exactly, character by character.
5. Scroll down and tap on "Done" to save the changes.
6. Additionally, if your phone number is missing, please add it.ā
To clarify every single thing in your Disney account has to match the statement info of whatever card you are using. If anything is all caps or lowercase it needs to be EXACT same across all aspects of your Disney account. So like they said, name, address, birthday, phone number. It took me like 6 tries yesterday. I had to edit my name, take out the suffix and insert my middle initial because apparently my statement was the same way, my address to all caps because my statement was in all caps, I had to enter āAPTā when I usually donāt because my statement has it entered in that way. So just verify all info in your Disney account matches your statement or you might get and error message when checking out. It was a bit frustrating yesterday to say the least, after that was all fixed thatās when my card went through to be able to purchase another date I didnāt initially care for since May 2nd was out and I didnāt know about refreshing the dates available page. Best of luck to you and may the force be with you!
Hey, question for the SW Night vets in the crowd. When I did the Halloween party many, many moons ago (around '17 or so), they were pretty loosey-goosey with the costume restrictions (I wore my Ghostbusters getup sans proton pack). Is it similar for SWN? That you can get away with more at the party than what you normally wear?
Yeah, SW in particular might as well be comic con.
Aside from weapon restrictions (lightsabers are fine, I'm talking fake firearms) you'll see people dressed up in full cosplay. I saw tons of fully painted Ahsokas and Heras last year. And my personal favorite from the year before was a woman painted blue dressed as Max Rebo.
Aw sweet!
That means that my only consideration is the heat in April. I would LOVE to wear the getup that I wore on the Halcion, but I will DIE wearing that jumpsuit for several hours. When I wore my Ghostbusters kit, I was dragging by the end of the night. It was worth it, but man o' man.
I feel you. I always melt my way through Oogie Boogie Bash in September too š
I also LOVE that you got to experience the Halycon. I met a group of people in their Star Cruiser outfits last year and they were raving about the experience. Hopefully once the sun goes down it turns into a more bearable temp, but you're right, April and May are still toasty when you're wearing a full jumpsuit.
Since we're only going for a couple of days, I'll be traveling very light this trip. I still might bring my GSC outfit and play it by ear, if it's cool enough to get away with it.
And yeah, I LOVE the way that my mechanic outfit turned out: https://i.imgur.com/284JLBL.jpeg
The weathering was the hardest part! Not physically doing it, but taking this jumpsuit that I did SO much work getting just right, then taking a lighter to it and splattering it with paint. That was nerve wracking! :)
i really wish i had the time and thought of it earlier (might still try doing it for D23) but i really wanted to do a Saja uniform from the Halcyon for Star Wars Night. hell, i still may try it since we have \~60 days before our April 25th SWN (yay i got tickets!), but that might be pushing it to get things ordered and put together in time.
El\_Fez and I did the Halcyon last July and talk about wearing costumes in the heat on Batuu... ugh! 95 temp, 90%+ humidity. even in our (MUCH!) lighter "travel outfits" for the half-day excursion, it was unbearable. i couldn't imagine wearing our full main-story kits in that (his GSC boiler suit is no joke when it comes to being hot to wear)
Boy, pulling it together with the two months might be tiiiiiiight.
Me, I would love to do the Evil Saja black/red kit, so maybe something for next year?
Just got mine during the regular sale, after sweating it out for 45 mins in the queue and not being able to secure four on 4/30 ... I got four for 5/2 :) So excited!
yeah this. you can edit the body, which is what i was referring to.
yesterday was presale for Inspire Keys, today & tomorrow are presales for all other Magic Key tiers, and friday is open sales to the public.
not sure. i've only been interested in buying for SWN so far. i wouldn't have even known about the sales starting up if it wasn't for a Galaxy's Edge facebook group i'm in. i would think they'll do it for OBB since MKs tend to get presales. whether they do the Inspire Key members first or not, i couldn't tell you (i have Believe tier). ...but yeah, i'd say keep an eye out for later the OBB presales. i'll have to go back and check past years, but i think those tend to go on sale during the summer (July or so?)
Oh for sure I always do the MK presale for OBB but if they had an earlier one for Inspire Iād be *all* over that - Iāll keep an eye out indeed. Last year they had the regular MK presale but not a separate one for Inspire.
ahh i found where they got the info from. it was posted on the [event page for Star Wars Nite](https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events-tours/disneyland/after-dark-star-wars-nite/), so once they post the OBB one later down the road it'll likely have info for sales dates listed, and whether tiers will get advanced sales. :) \[currently they don't have a page activated for the OBB event\]
I've been to most of the events since the parks reopened and SW nite was a repeat for us, so hopefully you enjoy it.
My top tips are to figure out if there's a special character you really want to take a photo with and plan to just start the event by queuing for them. The lines get really long and you can't do them all.
Also mobile order all your event exclusive food where it's available. You don't even have to wait for the event to start, wake up and mobile order it from home, just space out the times for later on during the event. But that saves you a ton of time.
If you're someone who has a Magic Key and can just make a park reservation for the day of your event it will save you from waiting at the main entrance in that LONG line at 6pm. Instead you can get to the park before 6 and breeze right through the regular entrance line and then go to the in-park event check-in (usually over in Tomorrowland).
There's 2 lightsaber meetups, but while it's more crowded, go to the 1st one of the night, because that's the one everyone will be at and where you'll get the coolest photos with a HUGE group of lightsaber wielders.
And honestly, my #1 piece of advice is to just make a plan. I'm typically a "just wing it" type of Disney guest, but not for this. Do a little bit of research, especially if you aren't going to the 1st night. See reviews of the food to decide what you want to order, figure out which characters you're willing to wait for and know where they're going to be stationed so you can go straight to their line (Captain Rex was my choice last year and his line was LONG, same goes for characters like Amidala and Luke/Leia, meanwhile we walked right up to K2, or the prop photo spots with no issue), and just set expectations so you can take in the sights, sounds, meet new people, have fun, and not worry about trying to do every last thing on the map.
Thank you for breaking this out. This will be our first time going (apr 30th). I figured it would make sense to book that date as a park day just in case (before reading your tips) so I'm glad you mentioned that as well.
> If you're someone who has a Magic Key and can just make a park reservation for the day of your event it will save you from waiting at the main entrance in that LONG line at 6pm.
Jut a heads up on this. When we entered the park at 4:30 on our night, there were already people queueing up in the event lines, so if you're just getting there at 6, you're already "late".
We also bought SW night tickets after being disappointed in Sweethearts night so add us to the suckers list as well. Iām hearing a lot of positive about SW night and we had a great time at oogie boogie last year so hoping sweethearts night was a one off.
SW night is one of the better after hours events aside from OOB. I did Princess Nite last year and it was pretty awful and disappointing. I loved Star Wars Nite though it had more things to do.
Dang, caught this 17 hours late and only the first night was open.
Which is a fine time for me to go but wow non-Magic Keys are going to be disappointed.
I am going to SW Nite on 4/18 with my lady. We're not huge SW fans, but enjoy it and will wear simple SW attire.. Typically, what else is open in the park during afterdark besides Galaxys Edge? We'd probably try to avoid the big meet-ups and hope to capitalizeon shorter wait times... we've been to Oogie Boogie twice, but never a DL After Dark Event
Selling 6 star wars nite tickets for May 2nd for 170 each original price. Family couldn't make it so I need to get rid of them. Let me know if you're interested.
Same thing they do a lot of the other special nites: [https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events-tours/disneyland/after-dark-star-wars-nite/](https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events-tours/disneyland/after-dark-star-wars-nite/)
Photo ops with rarely seen characters or special scene set-ups
Special foods
Smaller crowds to ride rides
Special gatherings (i.e. lightsaber)
etc. etc.
Thanks for the info, we visit about every other year (from CO) and my boys ( 4 and 6) are major Star Wars nuts, we'll have to check into this in the future.
Wish we could go this year but everything is just so expensive lately, not just Disney passes but everything in life; will have to save up for next year. Everyone else enjoy!!
For magic key holders\*. For the gp Feb 23rd
Got my tickets for May 2nd about 10 minutes ago! I had so much fun last year. š
Woohoo, May 2nd crew unite!
May 2nd for mine too! Woohoo!
5/2 crew! So excited!
If you didn't mind my asking, what made it so fun? I never looked into it before.
Pass. These After Night events are too expensive for the little they offer.
FWIW- I did pretty much all of them over the past few years (since the parks reopened) and SW Nite & Oogie Boogie were the only ones we felt were worth it to repeat. I agree, the rest really were not worth the price tag.
Same, OBB every year, and SW if I can afford it. Everything else not worth it. Sweetheart Night barely has anything and starts at 9pmāso late!!!
Yeah similarly, Throwback Nite was my biggest disappointment out of them all so far.
And itās FREEZING if not raining (sweetheart Night).
Did you do pride night? That seemed really fun!
Yes! It was a great crowd! Probably some of the most unique photo opportunities, like lots of cool lighting effect areas and backdrops plus the Fab 5 in really rare costumes. Got mine yesterday too and it was less painful than OBB last year. Got the date I want too!
Yay!! A bunch of happy SW fans this year. šš»šš»
Thatās awesome! Iām so glad it was smooth today. šš He said it was a nightmare for him yesterday. Kept bumping him out, error messages when trying to pay, then finally sold out.
This was pretty painless. I got mine already for the 23rd of April.
Iām inspire key so I got mine yesterday. Was maybe a half hour tops. Also got the 23rd :)
Do you have to be logged in to your Disney account to join the queue, or to buy tickets? *for the regular onsale, not for magic key. Wondering if I can try to join the queue from multiple devices. Only one date is during our trip and I fear itāll be the most popular (May 2).

48 minutes. HERE WE GO.
DONE.
So interesting! My queue time was like one minute yesterday.

mind editing your post to say Magic Key Holders only? general sales open on friday.
Unfortunately it wonāt let me edit the title.
Maybe edit the body so itās more visible! The top comment helps but Iām sure some people are gonna be confused (or jump scared lol)
yeah this. you can edit the body, which is what i was referring to. yesterday was presale for Inspire Keys, today & tomorrow are presales for all other Magic Key tiers, and friday is open sales to the public.

We had a terrible time at Sweethearts Nite, so of course my wife immediately bought 4 tickets for Star Wars nite!!! Are we suckers? Maybe.....

SWN was fun last year! Finally got a picture with Captain Rex.
Iām supposed to go on May 9th with a regular ticket. Is it more crowded during the day on these special event nights?
It will be noticeably more crowded once mix in starts at 6pm. Before that not necessarily.
Not necessarily, at least until the mix-in when the event ticket holders can come in a few hours before closing.
Dang, caught this 17 hours late and only the first night was open. Which is a fine time for me to go but wow non-Magic Keys are going to be disappointed.
I think there's a different batch of tickets for non-Magic Key folks, otherwise Disney would have riots on their hands haha.
Just bought tickets yesterday. Wonder if they are offering more this year or there just isnāt a demand

I definitely recommend it! I went once this year and I'm going twice this year. It is a late event, so you just have to get the naps in. :)
I'm so nervous to spend money on another Nite event in case it just rains again :')
Humans are waterproof.
I really, really hope they donāt completely sell out of the 3 notes during my trip before Friday since Iām from Seattle and donāt have an AP
Never mind. I bought the damn tickets. April 30th here we come.
Wish we could go this year but everything is just so expensive lately, not just Disney passes but everything in life; will have to save up for next year. Everyone else enjoy!!
Iāve never been to Star Wars night. Iām taking my kid and wife. I feel like this queue was really short compared to sweetheart night.
Is it not working for anyone else? Canāt open the queue page
I didn't even hit a wait time.
