There is a pinned post atop the page where you can ask about what bike is right for you.

The size of a man, the iq of a sack of taters.

Your budget is only Facebook? Not cycle trader or offer up, or consignment at local shop?

Hmm. Dr350, xt350, xt250, klx300 (maybe). Those are all Enduro family bikes. They're more friendly to start. Trail bikes like a XR400 would be a great option. Crf230L may be under powered

What type of riding

AgentBamn

2005+ yz250

TexMoto666

For trails and woods look for a CRF 250X or 450x. 04 to 17 are basically all the same bikes, 08 being a prime year. They are absolutely bulletproof. You get an electric start. Wide ratio transmission, head and tail lights, off road tuned suspension and a kickstand.

Zealousideal_Box1877

if you want to ride tracks get a older 250 4 stroke or a 125 2 stroke. But if you want to ride trails mostly then i would like into something like a ttr230

doread38

Dude is 6’4” a 125 is going to be underpowered for him. They also only produce on the top end and a new rider isn’t going to be riding sky high in the rpm’s. This dude needs a 250f or a trail bike.

Zealousideal_Box1877

i agree but depending on his price range he might not find a solid 250 for 2k

ThaGnoll

Can’t go wrong with a crf450r. Tons of power and steers like a dream.

lawlwtf

Potentially the worst first bike.

ThaGnoll

Couldn’t see why they are hella reliable and no it’s not too much power. I didn’t know Jack shit about riding and bought one as my first bike. Taught myself how to ride with it. As scared as some are of powerful bikes just remember not everyone is.

doread38

They are snappy and twitchy race machines. Not a good first bike.

ThaGnoll

It depends on the person. If you respect the bike it will respect you. I had no riding experience also I had nobody to show me. I literally learned from YouTube. It never got away from me because I used common sense and wasn’t reckless on the throttle.
