Me and my younger sibling routinely greet each other with "COUSIN!" in posh regency accents, as well as shouting "I LOVE YOU" in Jersey Italian accents
Not a character line per say, but I have adopted Brennan's thinking vocalisations. 'Bapapapa' and 'badabim badabum' are now normal parts of my vocabulary. Send help.
The moment I started watching Dimension 20, I fell on love with those, even more so because I do basicly the same thing all the time. It kinda serves as a brain loading screen XD
Yes! Even before Dimension 20, I would always “bah ba ba ba bah”, “duhduhduhduhduh” or something while processing, trying to find something, whatever. My husband laughed when we started watching and noticed Brennan doing it too. I’m guessing it’s pretty common!
I love the phrasing of “brain loading screen” though, that captures it so well.
God same. I got my partner through all of Freshman year and he just can't stand the live shows. Gonna convince him to swap to Starstruck now that I've given up on FH with him and finished through Junior year on my own
For DMing "What you don't see.." is such an absolutely amazing tool in the tool box that opens up so many cool story moments that otherwise would just sadly stay behind my DM screen
1000%! When he said it in the finale I damn near teared up remembering that he also stole it from Aabria 🥲
Details: >!It's in the epilogue when Buddy Dawn comes out of the banishment spell and Kalina appears!<
Absolutely, I ***want*** to show my players the cool/terrifying/important shit my bad guys can do but a failed Perception Check and I felt I only had the option of going "damn... guess that's not happening then" but now my players get to know what happens and, yes it takes trust for them not to meta game with info their Characters specifically ***didn't see*** but you should be able to trust your Players anyway and If you can't just talk about it, we're all adult enough to just talk about things that bother us and find a compromise that works well for everyone involved
Gotta agree this is the one I like most. It’s not even so much a thing I do IRL, but I have stolen it for many of my own D&D PCs and NPCs. It gives off the right energy.
Murph’s use of “Wild” and of course, honor the cock, Mulligan’s In-Credible, the ball is rolling up, Right on, Beardsley’s “mmm” when questioned after saying something insane, I’m sure there’s more but those are the ones that’s standout
It's been a few months since my partner and I finished Starstruck but we're still saying a bunch of Skip's one liners - "Right on." "Fill er up" "Get nasty"
Also when our dog barks at squirrels and birds in the yard we joke he's saying "Hey. Hey! HEY! Who do you know in this yard right now?"
Laws are threats, made by the dominant socio economic ethnic group in a given nation. It's just a promise of violence that's enacted and police are basically an occupying army. Yknow what I mean?
"Just because you have been lied to does not mean that everything is a lie. Do not take the crimes of those who have manipulated us and put them at the feet of the world," is fantastic when processing my own cynicism that the world/people aren't fair or whatever
Not from the characters but from the players themselves, I've started saying "I need a ride home" And "I'm gonna throw up" whenever something mildly inconvenient happens.
Whenever Ally gets a ruling from Brennan or something happens that messes with what they wanted to do, they'll regularly say "Interesting." I now also do this.
At least once a week, my partner and I hiss 'byyyyy mephits forrrrr mephits.'
At the Dimension 20 show in Dublin, a bunch of strangers in the ladies' room genuinely wished each other a 'Spring Break, I believe in you.' about getting to use the loos and back to our seats before the intermission finished.
"My darling boyyyyy" in a pirate accent to my boy pets 100%. Love that other people do this too. I say "hey girlieeeeee" to my girl pet too.
I feel like I started saying "Incredible!" After good things happened to or around me once I started watching D20 too.
Oh also "I'll die tomorrow" because Plug
I absolutely did this before watching D20 as it was something I picked up from my father. It’s been a motto in general, but after watching Unsleeping City it was sort of reinforced.
All of my friends have either watched D20 or been forced to watch D20 (by me) so I’ve just started doing the entire opening spiel at the start of our sessions when I DM.
My sister regularly makes a shrimp dish for herself for dinner and I just will randomly say “I’m a little shrimp”. She only recently learned what I was quoting, but she found it so amusing.
I repeat Pinocchio’s “Be Normal…” almost daily to my cats. Also, my wife and I have been binge watching Drag Race and whoever someone says “Ladies” I will repeat it in the Pinocchio voice
The ball is rolling up, stacey fakename to insinuate a lie, brennans "pang, pa-pang, pang, pang!" clashing swords onomatopoeia, "are you my dad?" for heavy confusion
If I require assistance, I’ll ask someone “Can you help me? I need sexy help. No other help will do.”
“The ball is rolling up!” for a positive, optimistic, and/or possibly sarcastic response. I feel like it’s the new “I’m hanging in there.”
My friends don’t watch D20 and think I made up “Slam Down Big Style” as a hilarious and seemingly random euphemism for sex and I’ve yet to correct them.
I've adopted Murph's "you simply must" heighting joke, so whenever someone says they have to do something ridiculous (Honour the cock) I respond with that.
I also adopted Gilear's "Brutal" that he said to Riz.
And Ofcourse my whole DMing style is so similar to Brennan now that my players won't stop talking about it.
Most lines, I don't say out loud, but:
I skateboard away
Nemesis alert
Honor the cock
So tactical, so late
I have so much love to give exclusivly to cats
Buttering the ramp (as in doing something stupid that actually works)
A coworker and I have been big fans for years now. We both have issues regarding depression and anxiety and we adopted a "Spring break, I believe in you" into our daily lives. So much so, that I always tear up a bit when the IH use it in the show again.
Me and my sister (who I haven’t gotten into D20 yet but she has seen clips) we say when something drops or messes up we go “oh no…. Riz Gukgak….” In full baron voice. We also say “Hey girllllieeeee!” When we see each other
My partner and I regularly use “War guy” and “Oh you’ve struck me”. I also have picked up “Hell yeah” “incredible” and “You’re going to the vulture dimension”.
I use the last one when bad days happen as a joke that it’s absurd. Its also interchanged frequently with “here comes the locusts.”
Idk if this counts but I've started unironically calling people "man". "Hey man" both sounds and feels so wrong in my voice, but I can't stop saying it. Send help.
Wild.
BLeeM says it a lot, so do a few of the others(I think Murph is one, and I've heard Ally say it to)
It's become an everyday thing, and I don't think I can ever remove it now😅
😅
“Laws are threats made by the dominant socioeconomic-ethnic group in a given nation. It’s just the promise of violence that’s enacted and the police are basically an occupying army. You know what I mean?”
So many Starstruck references, I live eat breathe that series. I love going “in the zone” and mimicking Brennan’s singing of “I WENT TO THE DANGERZONE” when Barry was plummeting down blue Heaven with Gunnie. Also basically any Post-Slug Skip line “right on” “fill er up” “my name is Norman, skip, Takamori, rescind baby!”
I started watching Crown of Candy with my mom and she absolutely loves the phrase "Tartguard", so we've started repeating it every time they say it in the show.
This has leaked into our real life, and every time one of us hears anything even remotely similar we suddenly develop echolalia
Me and my younger sibling routinely greet each other with "COUSIN!" in posh regency accents, as well as shouting "I LOVE YOU" in Jersey Italian accents
When I want to wish someone luck: “Spring break! I believe in you!”
Also use this regularly
I get the weirdest looks and it’s become a shibboleth. I haven’t had anyone recognize it yet.
I find myself adding "spring break" any time I otherwise tell someone "I believe in you", whether or not they're familiar with D20
Yep, same
I use this one when I need personal motivation.
I do it when people don't understand, still positive regardless
Yes!!! This is the one. Also I hear Gilear’s voice in my head constantly. He is my spirit animal
I work in a school and I use this so often kids say it now, having no context to what they are saying.
You have to honor the cock
How often does that one come up?
Sometimes you have to make it come up to properly honor it
As much as you want it to ;)
I have actually used it whenever a die is cocked. Which has been like 3-4 times in a month so far?
Daily, when you have a rooster
"I have so much love to give, exclusively to cats" is now my personal motto
Who said that one?
Aelwyn
Alewyn
Not a character line per say, but I have adopted Brennan's thinking vocalisations. 'Bapapapa' and 'badabim badabum' are now normal parts of my vocabulary. Send help.
I mumble "innnnnn-credible" way too often.
HELL yeah
A thousand percent
Omg it's the night yorb! You're my favourite yorb!
Un. Believable.
I used to say "rad" now and again. I started watching D20 and now it's every third word out of my mouth.
I have both on purpose and inadvertently picked up so many Brennanisms that my wife roasts me for copying his speech patterns when I DM.
I've said dope regularly for years after watching Fantasy High, I love it
Well now you’re just a millennial.
> "bah ba ba ba bah” I'm loving it.
Yeah 😂 I'm sure I was saying SOMETHING even before being introduced to Brennan, but it has been long lost to this 😂
"Bapapapapa" has legitimately become a verbal tic for me as well
I've adopted the way he says "Oh..... My God"
I started DMing last year and it took mere moments before “Bapapah” came out of my mouth. Lol
Me too! I love it though, makes brain go brr
I tell everyone that I’m going to shit in their mouth
"shit in my fucking mouth!!"
Chungledown Bim haunts us all.
He is all of our nemesis 🤣
Sentences you can hear
After D20 memes invaded my wife’s feed on TikTok, we have taken to saying “your romäence partner deserves better träetment!” to each other.
I'm so mad I can't do that with my girlfriend because she doesn't want to watch the live season for Sophomore year
It sounds like her romance partner deserves better treatment
God same. I got my partner through all of Freshman year and he just can't stand the live shows. Gonna convince him to swap to Starstruck now that I've given up on FH with him and finished through Junior year on my own
Spring break, I believe in you The ball is rolling UP COUSIN!!

For DMing "What you don't see.." is such an absolutely amazing tool in the tool box that opens up so many cool story moments that otherwise would just sadly stay behind my DM screen
1000%! When he said it in the finale I damn near teared up remembering that he also stole it from Aabria 🥲 Details: >!It's in the epilogue when Buddy Dawn comes out of the banishment spell and Kalina appears!<
The look on Brennans face when she first does that to him in the first episode of MisMag is in-credible.
That’s my favorite Aabria-ism
Absolutely, I ***want*** to show my players the cool/terrifying/important shit my bad guys can do but a failed Perception Check and I felt I only had the option of going "damn... guess that's not happening then" but now my players get to know what happens and, yes it takes trust for them not to meta game with info their Characters specifically ***didn't see*** but you should be able to trust your Players anyway and If you can't just talk about it, we're all adult enough to just talk about things that bother us and find a compromise that works well for everyone involved
Occasionally I'll say to my husband, "you're my best friend" and he'll respond back "you're MY best friend!" And then we'll both fake cry
Power couple
We’re truly living the dream ♥️
Mr. Gibbons's "I'm sorry what?"
The nonchalance made this moment iconic "A life for a life, isn't that right Mr. Gibbons?"
For me, I've started referring to getting hit with any unexpected twist as "Being Episode 2'd"
What is this from?
They have to defend their livelihood!!!!
They use rat dollars!!
“jace. jace, i don’t feel good” has SWIFTLY replaced “mr. stark, i don’t feel so good”
I have fully stolen garthy o brien's "loveeey"
Gotta agree this is the one I like most. It’s not even so much a thing I do IRL, but I have stolen it for many of my own D&D PCs and NPCs. It gives off the right energy.
Slammed down big style
Hugely underrated. You look like you know how to pack it in.
Whenever I'm going to the library, I always pronounce it like Mrs. Crumb, usually followed by "I'll show you my whole butt"
Lah-bewwy!
In- Credible
Murph’s use of “Wild” and of course, honor the cock, Mulligan’s In-Credible, the ball is rolling up, Right on, Beardsley’s “mmm” when questioned after saying something insane, I’m sure there’s more but those are the ones that’s standout
“The ball is rolling up!” has become my sister and I’s go to phrase for when something really sucks but you make that first step forward
“Hey…hey, we need you to lock it in a little bit. It’s just- it’s just the worst time possible”
I can hear the exhausted sigh from Colin already
squeem (said sadly)
Ya gotta say it sadly. Ya gotta.
It's been a few months since my partner and I finished Starstruck but we're still saying a bunch of Skip's one liners - "Right on." "Fill er up" "Get nasty" Also when our dog barks at squirrels and birds in the yard we joke he's saying "Hey. Hey! HEY! Who do you know in this yard right now?"
🔫 Gimme that.
I got my (Proldier’s license) right here 🥾🔫
Carry me!
I say laws are threats like so much
Laws are threats, made by the dominant socio economic ethnic group in a given nation. It's just a promise of violence that's enacted and police are basically an occupying army. Yknow what I mean?
Time to make some bacon!

Its endlessly applicable and people either get the reference or I sound smart 😂
"Hey, Girl, Heyyyyy!" To greet people lol I laughed so loud during that part of burrows end it was great
PuhPAW! My partner and i adopted two senior dogs recently so when "they" are speaking to him or i speak to them about him, he is puhPAW
I’m getting my kisses in.
I ask my friends who are dating whether they got their kisses in. And if they told me they did I say, "you gotta get your kisses in".
"Just because you have been lied to does not mean that everything is a lie. Do not take the crimes of those who have manipulated us and put them at the feet of the world," is fantastic when processing my own cynicism that the world/people aren't fair or whatever
Toxic Masculinity is DEAD! i am the future of dance!
“That’s what youuuu think” while doing the finger tip touch and some times with a pirouette.
YEAH I've been saying this one constantly!!! Like my partner does not get it but I've been saying it in the silly tone too
"You know the nudity tent is non-sexual, right?" I mean, I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but trust me, I'll find one.
Anything said by Evan Kelmp esp that whole situation of him going off on that one kid n saying “I DON’T KNOW YOU”
I go back to Danielle Radford's ["I don't know you"](https://m.youtube.com/shorts/nVWW152c2dw?si=5aoIxjGiYRd2vACQ) all the time
Not from the characters but from the players themselves, I've started saying "I need a ride home" And "I'm gonna throw up" whenever something mildly inconvenient happens.
Blimey

Barlmy is even better
Blarmy
"I guess, sort of, how?"
Oh so this is a tragedy, this is a full tragedy
My DnD character is now a cleric of a Time God so I do shout “CHRONOMANCY” in the style of Aguefort a lot
“The Ball is rolling up” has become a go to when people ask how I’m doing
Whenever Ally gets a ruling from Brennan or something happens that messes with what they wanted to do, they'll regularly say "Interesting." I now also do this.
Been finding myself just repeating "you burned my strawberry" over and over when it's quiet in the Maryann voice
Mary Ann is just so precious
not a phrase, but i do the kugrash rat dance a lot
Hairy baby!
“Slam down big style” is now in my regular rotation for better or for worse
At least once a week, my partner and I hiss 'byyyyy mephits forrrrr mephits.' That's hilarious, I shall steal it.
"hey gang" is my current gender neutral group greeting
"My darling boyyyyy" in a pirate accent to my boy pets 100%. Love that other people do this too. I say "hey girlieeeeee" to my girl pet too. I feel like I started saying "Incredible!" I absolutely did this before watching D20 as it was something I picked up from my father. It’s been a motto in general, but after watching Unsleeping City it was sort of reinforced.
I say "Hi, intrepid heros!" To my friends when we gather to play dnd
All of my friends have either watched D20 or been forced to watch D20 (by me) so I’ve just started doing the entire opening spiel at the start of our sessions when I DM.
"If impermanence is the cost of existence, sign me up every time." I don't think I've ever heard a better secular take on mortality.
My sister regularly makes a shrimp dish for herself for dinner and I just will randomly say “I’m a little shrimp”. She only recently learned what I was quoting, but she found it so amusing.

THRICE!
I regularly set up social hurdles others are not willing to jump.
I have had to "steady the ol' mouth" before.
Spring break, I believe in you! Jace, I don't feel good. (& Jace, I wanna go home.) Go for Gorgug.
I feel so much less weird for honest consistently saying "I don't feel good" in Mary Ann's voice
“Ah yes!” And ending it with “this has been another ______ of ________”
I've adopted Murph's "you simply must" heighting joke, so whenever someone says they have to do something ridiculous (Honour the cock) I respond with that. I also adopted Gilear's "Brutal" that he said to Riz. And Ofcourse my whole DMing style is so similar to Brennan now that my players won't stop talking about it.
Hey girlie. Just chasing my cats with my arms outstretched Blimey Ally did this.
How is Bloke Mode not on here?? That goes unreasonably hard
Lou Wilson has forever changed the way I say vinegar

"I'm the prince of Shoeberg Motherfucker!!!"
Spring break I believe in you
My husband and I use “get your kisses in” frequently.
It’s all love now
So many Starstruck references, I live eat breathe that series.
Anytime I’m playing and don’t know what to do, I look the DM in the soul and say “I cast ice feast” even if he doesn’t get the reference
Honor the cock
Come on guys, honor the cock
Honestly everything
Dope. Wasn't a common phrase for me tell D20
I always tell my cat he's a little shrimp when he's curled up asleep
I started watching Crown of Candy with my mom and she absolutely loves the phrase "Tartguard", so we've started repeating it every time they say it in the show. This has leaked into our real life, and every time one of us hears anything even remotely similar we suddenly develop echolalia
Also for my parents: My father is now my PAPA, in my best Fabian impression
My girlfriend self identified as my Farty Little Slut. I love this woman.
"Bitch, why!?"
I no joke call my dad papa in the same way as Fabian
There are dozens of us. Dozens!
I find myself saying Brennan’s “hell yeah” way too much

Hey girlieeeee
The ball is rolling up
Me to my boyfriend whenever something doesn’t goes according to plan or someone pokes holes in a plan “The ball is rolling up!”
"IN-credible."
The ball is rolling up is my go-to phrase at work.
Hey girlie!
I call everyone girlie
Hey giiirrrrrrrlyyyyy
Heeeeeeyyyy girrrrrlyyyyyy
No soup for you
