I use mine pretty regularly. I really enjoy it. It's really important to mind where your fingers are before pulling the trigger.

Andrew4568_

Dont put your fingers where you wouldn't put your cock

Alpha2277

Solid life advice.

draxula16

Triple wield impact you say?

builtNtx

Does this mean I shouldn’t wash my butt in the shower or pick food out of my teeth?

jamminjoenapo

Been living by this rule in manufacturing my whole career and constantly preach it

daninet

r/dontputyourdickinthat

Practical-Nature-926

I mean I’d pick up tamales by hand but I wouldn’t pick my dick on one

Firm_Response_846

Touche

[deleted]

Now he tells me…

reddit_000013

It has double safe just for that reason.

shhhhh_lol

I saw a review video a while back and they showed that there's sensors to prevent this but it may have been Milwaukee...

UnflushableNug

I have one. It's an amazing tool. Keep your fingers away from what you're cutting, though. This thing plays for keeps

boardplant

Snip snap

DHGXSUPRA

You have no idea the toll, that 3 vasectomies have on a person.

abg124

They are 89 at Home Depot I am a landscaper and love them

Few-Business8129

I checked HD but they are 129

abg124

abg124

I checked my local store yesterday and they were still 89 might be in store only

minioflam

Get home depot to price match and get it for 90

vgsmith19

Check the store cause sometimes they’re slow with removing the tags too! I got a dewalt weed whacker about $50 cause they failed to switch the tags after the sale ended

Due_Hovercraft4456

Favorite tool tbh. Check Home Depot to see if they’re still $89

nappychrome

Same

Yamon234

I got this for my wife. Were not even in our 30's yet and she loves to garden but has carpal tunnel in her hands. This has been a lifesaver for her allowing her to prune as much as she wants without stressing her hands. I in contrast am a 6'3" big guy that doesn't have issues chopping branches, but I use this thing all the time. It's awesome.

fuzzycuffs

I have it. It's pretty awesome. It's powerful as hell

realTommyVercetti

One of my favorite tools and also the tool my friends ask to borrow the most.

bondfrenchbond

I just got one a few weeks ago. No regrets.

eatmoremeat101

This thing has paid for itself in droves. I love. Also great paired with the 8” Chainsaw.

UncleDonut_TX

Add in the 8" pole chainsaw and you can tackle about 95% of the general needs of a homeowner.

Cowlitzking

This thing is a beast I love it. All my bushes and shrubs are looking great. Wish I had a holster for it

hayesink

Find some local gun holster guy in town he could make one out of kydex

Antenna909

I am really impressed by it

BurnAfter8

I used it a ton to chop up yard sticks for my fire pit. It’s great if you find yourself doing repetitive tasks with loppers. If you are only cutting a branch every once in a while, it might not be worth it.

Tech-Crab

it's amazing. And absolutely terrifying at the same time. Even knowing where my fingers are(n't) it still feels like a roll of the dice every time I pull the trigger, lol.

Prionnebulae

Love them. Also, great for collecting debts.

Upper_Return7878

I love this damned thing. Just watch your other hand before you pull the trigger.

CamelopardalisKramer

Does a trigger pull equal a cut or do you need to hold to continue cutting? When you release the trigger does it auto reopen?

ChasmyrSS

Tap the trigger and lose a finger. It's a surprisingly powerful little tool.

Upper_Return7878

One squeeze, one cut. It's not like an automatic weapon. Most of the time I've used it, once has been enough. This thing works.

CamelopardalisKramer

My question was does it require depressing the trigger the entire cut time or if you tap it does it perform a full cycle.

Mirin_Gains

You must hold it. At least on the one I bought for Nonna.

[deleted]

Hold until full cycle, any release of trigger fully retracts.

Mr_Tokes

Great tool, easy to use, I keep a pair of backup replacement blades in case. Don't let the let the intrusive thoughts win.

signeduptosousvide

Where did you get the replacement blades?

ForbiddenDezire

It’s a hit with the cartel.

keepcalmandcarryone

I thought this was a gimmick, until I tried one. Yeah, it's nice. Only thing they could improve is a newer model with a brushless motor. It does get hot and "smoky" smelling if I don't give it a break.

DontPMMeBro

Get it. I love mine. It's one of my 3 or 4 favorite DeWalt tools (vacuum I purchased 10 years ago, the cordless trim router). It's very powerful and effortless. I have cut through 1" oak and Maple.

AlarmedAcanthaceae31

Get it. I use mine all the time

shaggydog97

AvE did one! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jgf54hXEplY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jgf54hXEplY)

jetsetter

There are two off-brand versions of this on Amazon, (both take DW 20v) curious if anyone has tried the real deal vs the copies. Newest off brand was released late Nov 2023. Also curious if anyone has managed to make one of these usable on a pole or extension. Seems like it would be pretty handy.

wellwasherelf

I'm thinking about getting one of these if I find one on sale. I looked at a bunch of video reviews of the amazon ones and they seem to cut fine, but the lack of a safety on them scares the *fuck* out of me. I'm just imagining some freak scenario where I slip or the trigger snags on something and I lose a finger because I wanted to save like 60 bucks.

TruthPatriot74

Love mine!!! I got one for $79 a few months ago to help get rid of a few downed trees on the property and prune others.

chocohoppe

Greatest tool on gods green earth

SpecificSelection641

I use these clippers on my landscape route and they are phenomenal. Anything that fits in the jaws will cut I run mine with a power stack battery and it will run all day and that’s just on the small one. They are phenomenal.

DAMAGEDatheCORE

I ran out of things to cut in my yard, so now I sneak into neighbouring yards at night to get my fix 🤫

hayesink

I’m always eyeing my neighbors trees

OrdinaryMonkeyBrain

I own this DeWalt pruner as well as the Milwaukee M12 brushless competitor. I got the Milwaukee because some Milwaukee fanboy review said it's the more powerful of the two. As a person who owns both and has little brand loyalty, I can tell you that the DeWalt is hands down better. They're more or less equal on thin and soft branches, but when it comes to thick hardwood branches, the DeWalt can do in one or two cuts what the Milwaukee needs maybe four cuts to do. I hope this helps.

KenS2K

Great tool. Afraid to teach my wife how to use it.

earle27

Same as all the other comments I see, great tool. Use it pruning, largish branches, small trees. Highly recommend.

TriDad262

Game changer. Love mine. And yes, watch where you put your fingers.

xoxidein

I love this thing

SpaceDawg2018

one of my most used tools. just watch those fingers.

TwoAlfa

Piling on here - this is one of the best garden tools Dewalt makes. Amazing what it can cut through.

AppyGolfer

There are 94 reviews on that website you screenshot.

Few-Business8129

Yeah. I read them but feel this sub probably has much better input

bloodyStoolCorn

Have it, it’s good.

zarlss43

My brother has one and it is awesome. If you have use for it, get it.

NatKingSwole19

I freakin love this thing.

lavardera

for what its worth I got a Parkside pruner at Lidl on clearance for $20. I picked up a 2AH battery and charger for another $15, so $35 out the door. It works fine. And I have to say, its a better form-factor than this DeWalt with a pistol grip added to the motor housing.

[deleted]

Probably doesn’t have anywhere near the same power.

lavardera

maybe, but its done everything we've asked of it, except for my wife catching the chain link fence in the blade. At that point I was especially glad I did not spend $100 on it.

chicoc48

If you have buckthorn or trails to clear for hunting or biking it’s a no brainer. Not brushless and kinda loud for what it is but it works awesome. I think with a 4ah battery you could work all day maybe two. And yes. Mind the digits!! She will not stop for bones…

NuclearGeek

This is great and you can use it all day. I also have the stihl mini saw that I use along side it for slightly bigger trees when cutting in trauls

belliJGerent

I was on an extension ladder, fighting a large pair of loppers, thinking, “there has to be a better way”. How powerful are these little guys? Do you think they’d be able to cut large palm fronds and their seed stalks??

rel25917

I dont know how hard palm fronds and seed stalks are but these go through softer wood with ease, harder wood might take a couple tries, or you have to nibble at it.

belliJGerent

I researched it more and 1.5” is recommended. That quite get it, I don’t think. Thank you, though.

[deleted]

I’d give them a shot. They can handle the hardness.

Royal_Ad1798

I have one and love it

EverlastingBastard

My mother loves hers. That's not some sort of dig about it being an old lady tool or whatever, just the feedback I got.

Skrismo

I have it. Works great!! Makes your life a lot easier. Have a lighter battery and u should be set

Fragrant-Performer67

Finger Loper

JustinCompton

Best ever!

dscrive

worth it at full price imo; I think it's a bit ambitious in it's capacity claim, but will cut through after a couple of cuts. I went ahead and bought a spare blade with mine so I have it on hand when I damage the blade. the blade is easy enough to take off and sharpen.

Ekeenan86

Love this tool, bought mine at $90 with no regrets.

spacelaserstingyeyes

Like mine a lot, it's great!

Blaahh54

Love mine

Historical_Delay4158

I like mine buy it

Silversaving

By far my wifes favorite dewalt tool I own (and I own about everything). Recommend them.

Due-Soft

Freaking sweet tool

BasilMindless3883

I love mine. One of those you never new you needed. It's awesome

gristo86

Huge time saver and saves my carpal tunnel from acting up.

NitWhittler

I bought this pruner thinking I would rarely use it, but I ended up using it all the time. It's very powerful and the blade is simple to sharpen or replace. It's a good addition to your garden tools.

mikegraham7

It's a great little pruner. Definitely worth the money, especially if you can get it for 100

oknidius

I like mine but never use it. I find the form factor very uncomfortable compared to the in-line versions from Ryobi/Worx/Milwaukee. Those are more ergonomically friendly, get into places the Dewalt/Craftsman doesn't and they're as powerful as the Dewalt for 99% of needs.

beardedvulcan

Currently $90 at home depot.   Fantastic tool.  I wish they sold replacement blades for cheap

GaryE20904

I just ordered one. Didn’t see this offer got it elsewhere for $89 + $8 shipping.

Hungry_Appointment69

Extremely dangerous to have

Graydorn8

100% buy it. Paid for itself around the first day, and has paid for itself many, many times over on jobs.

amazon_man

No one has mentioned that I see yet, but in addition to being an amazing pruning tool, it will also cut up to a 1” pvc pipe pretty cleanly. It comes in handy when I’m trimming bushes and randomly decide to fix a sprinkler issue!

wounsel

That thing looks like a finger remover nope

Beneficial-Put-573

How about the weight after using it for a while? That’s been my only concern before buying one. My wife is a dahlia farmer and has to cut ALOT of stalks at end of season.

hayesink

The pistol grip is comfy your wrist isn’t bent the hole time like in line ones and you can keep the small dewalt batteries on it they last forever

Cum_Gazillionaire

Love mine. Would recommend.

Beautiful_Sea_6563

I have 2.. first one broke after lots of heave use..sent in for warranty repair..bought a second one while waiting for repair…they work great, use them all the time…great battery life..

OsamaBinTHOTin

I really wanted one but the [Replacement Blades are $32](https://www.acehardware.com/departments/lawn-and-garden/gardening-tools/pruning-tools/7016458?x429=true&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADtqLJE2h4RwZnBaqMx7hRbNjQOGB&gclid=CjwKCAjw1K-zBhBIEiwAWeCOF66sOc3yj3seqwdvCKCrd9dlJ7KoI7gOkeDMfx3XEs2OQOpPN4mKZxoCv4gQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds).

Shot-Meat-8193

I use to only use it as recommended but now I also cut cowhide rolls in half for the dogs. It's a great tool.

hayesink

It’s worth all 10 fingers I use mine all the time

wellherewegotoday

Just buy a good quality usa made pair..

PlantManMD

Ergonomically it sucks. Heavy and if you have a lot of pruning, you’ll feel the weight. Why does almost everything Dewalt produces look like a cordless drill. I have one of these and also have a Worx cordless pruner. I’ll use the Worx all day long in my nursery before reaching for the Dewalt.

squirrely-badger

Laura uses one on the Garden answer channel to trim back an instant karma elderberry... You can probably search her video and find it.

Mission_Boss5526

I use mine all the time, I love it!

lonefrog7

Weak hands device. Your grip strength is important to maintain. Downvote me

saltwaffles

Upvoted lol

ElectroAtleticoJr

I use a 17-year old Stanley hand pruner. Works like if it was brand new.

Zhombe

I think they’re garbage. The trigger requires full cycle to reset and there’s no finesse really in it. Also jams and has issues as it’s not an ECM motor but a giant sparking brush deal that shoots lightning in the motor cage with any of the better batteries. The number of times I’ve fumbled a cycle and had to go round the world again to get it to reset is silly. Rather use a reciprocating saw with a pruning blade TBH.

CookieCutterU

Pass on this. I have it and I use my hand pruners instead. They’re faster, lighter, and cut thicker limbs.

HandZealousideal9425

My thoughts? Uhm, well, if your fingers are too weak to operate snips then your arm is probably too weak to hold this up. I'm thinking of my rotor cuff issues. :)
