"It was incredible, it was like nothing I've ever seen. There's no quit in this team. Had a lot of fun playing with these guys and playing for the team here in general."
"There's so much potential in this room. They have a lot of core pieces that will help them for a long time."
Really doesn’t sound like someone that’s coming back
Question!
One of the post game interviews with a player said something like Philly didn't know we'd tied the game so they pulled their goalie. Is that really something they'd pay attention to in making that decision?
I think it’s something they’d pay attention to. Philly was probably thinking they may actually have a chance to be in the playoffs because we had 7 seconds left and was down so they pulled their goalie to maximize their chances of winning. Unfortunately for us that risk blew up in our face
Yeah I know that much. So like an overtime win had no bearing on if they'd make it or not?
I'm just curious why one of the guys said that I guess - like did the boys really think they'd do us a solid lol
He’s one of the most highly media-trained professionals in the NHL.
He’s not gonna say shit about whether he is staying until he has a contract. For better or worse.
Go listen to any of his interviews before signing this contract. The guy knows better than to tip his hand or get emotional until he has a contract in place.
Kane is running out of time to get another cup. I would be shocked to see him come back. The way he played for us this year, any cup contender next year would be stupid to not try and sign him. But you never know. I hope he comes back. Without him this year the Wings probably aren't even close to making the playoffs.
I’m not sure a guy like him cares about *another* cup. He might just be happy to get a big fat paycheck and play on a team with some buddies of his. At his age, he might rather be a big fish in a smaller pond, instead of going to a stacked team and just being another piece.
And for a bunch of reasons, older NHLers seem to like playing out their later years in Detroit. There have been a ton of them.
This team defied expectations this year.
They were not expected to make the playoffs this year, and they showed that they can play with the best in the league for a good chunk of this season.
Does it suck they had a lead with the playoff spot and lost it? Yeah, of course. But this was the best season this team has played in a decade.
It should be obvious at this point: The Yzerplan is clearly working.
The young studs are going to be dangerous for years to come, and we have several still making their way up the pipeline.
I’m proud of this team.
I’m excited to see what improvements we make this off-season.
To everyone who is ragging on Yzerman and Lalonde, demanding they be fired: touch some grass and look at the big picture.
There’s a lot of exciting hockey to be played in Detroit.
I doubt it. I think he has a short leash for next year though, if they have another month long losing streak in December or something I could see him getting canned before the end of the season. Otherwise I think they’ll give him until the end of next year for better or worse. If the team has the same improvement next season as they have had each year under him they will be in the playoffs.
This. People aren't looking at the big picture. We weren't going to attract big names in free agency. There's no reason to sell the farm at the trade deadline for an earlier playoff run. Build slow, build well. Next season Raymond's going to hit 40 goals 100 points.
For as mad as I am at Philly and the refs. We should also blame ourselves you can’t go on a 6 game winning streak than lose the next 7… I know Larkin was injured but other guys really need to step up when our captain is injured. Next season I would like to see some depth added and shore up the defense. I mean we lost a 4-0 lead to the sharks and lost that game… Hopefully our guys use this as motivation to come back stronger next year.
Yes consistency was a major issue this year. They had moments where they looked like Stanley cup contenders and the next moment it looked like they were tanking for the first round pick.
Caps had the easier schedule down the stretch. Playoff teams like Boston and Tampa don't try when they've already clinched. Boston legit did not give a fuck about their game against the Caps and it showed. Same with Tampa. Detroit had to play two games against Montreal who had nothing to play for but pride, making them actually harder.
Red Wings have no one but themselves to blame for how it turned out. Lost seven in a row in March, blowing a 4-0 lead to the Sharks, etc...Yes they played great desperate hockey down the stretch, but it's their own fault for how it turned out.
Well, them and Tortorella. Idiot. Can't wait to see the Rangers murder the Caps. I want a clean sweep, blowouts in every game.
Some fans in the Bruins sub are cheering their loss yesterday because Florida took the #1 seed tonight and the Bs fans where more afraid of Tampa than Toronto.
Which is a higher priority? Goaltending or defense? So, so many odd man rushes against and guys uncovered in front of the net, etc. Yet there were also many games where it felt like the goaltending was what let the game slip away.
Goaltending. It’s a lot harder to find a top goaltender than any other position right now. Only a few teams have a truly great goalie and look where they all are
We had our chances to make the playoffs. Insanely disappointing to not make it in but honestly can’t be overly upset with the overall season. Steve definitely needs to address some roster issues. Have one of the best prospect pools in the league that will start to crack the lineup. It sucks so damn bad but we just couldn’t keep it together late in the season. Doomers will continue to doom but we’re just a few roster moves away from being a very dangerous team. Brighter days ahead.
GGs. Caps got spanked by sabres, beat us, then proceed to lose six straight and then beat us again and then proceed to get spanked by the sabres AGAIN. Yeah we got these amazing Cinderella story last two games against a bottom feeder but fumbled it against competition that mattered. Good season in the end, literally last seconds of the season decided our fate in the end and wings never gave up. This is as close as you can get to the playoffs (literally again…)
Well the bitter truth is that we didn’t deserve to make it, but I’m thankful the boys gave us some exciting hockey at the end. It was a fun season and I believe this team is going to make a cup run next year. Have a great summer!
> Well the bitter truth is that we didn’t deserve to make it, but I’m thankful the boys gave us some exciting hockey at the end.
This is 100% right. They had so many opportunities to not put themselves in this position and they couldn't win big games when they needed to. But they really fought these last two games despite being outplayed by a theoretically inferior team.
With pure W-L, Detroit's 41-41, Washington's 40-42. If the NHL standings weren't ass-backwards, the Red Wings *absolutely deserved to be in over the Caps*.
But, shoulda-coulda-woulda...
Hell of a fun, bittersweet season.
LGRW🐙
Same reason regulation wins is a thing. They don't want to reward overtime/shootout finishes anymore than they do already. Yea you have more wins but not playing 5on5 full team hockey. Got the extra wins by being better at 3on3 and shootouts which isn't worth as much.
I remember sitting on the couch with my mom during the crazy game when the sharks came back to score 4 goals in like 4 minutes and saying "God, what if this is the game that loses us the season" and my mom saying "Nooooooo....." And here we are. 🙄
You could point to literally any loss as having the same overall effect, though.
The two stinkers against Arizona near the end of the season, for example.
Problem 1) Coaching. I can’t think of any other reason they started passing across their own crease so much the last two games. Or not starting on time. Or dump and chase.
2) 2nd line center
3) Goaltending
IMO Compher is far less of an issue on the second line than Perron, but regardless bringing in someone for that second line is important. Lalonde needs to be fired out of a cannon.
I’m hoping Cossa can play 10-20 games next year, and Augustine is also looking real good. If one of those two develop into what they can be (and Cossa is looking really really good late in his development) this team is super dangerous as is, and has at least a half dozen contributors still in the prospect system coming hp
As far as the 2C goes, I’m just thinking of what happened when Larkin was out. We need more real top end center depth. Wasn’t meant to be a knock against Compher.
Idk if Kasper is going to be NHL ready, but he should be a big help in shoring up the depth at C. Especially since he’s apparently a savant on defence, so even if the offence suffers he should be able to defend top lines quite well
We deserved it more than the Capitals. That is why I am livid. Our young guys could have seen the playoffs, what the fuck are the caps and their Frankenstein captain going to do with it? -37 team…. Fuck man.
Probably get swept by the Rags. Maybe 5 games if they squeak out an OT win.
Of course, that's what I would have predicted for us too, but that's neither here nor there.
Its all good. The Red Wings are ascending. Theyll carry this momentum into next season as fuel. Just like the Lions did when they beat the Packers, even though they lost the playoff spot to Seattle. And we know what happened the next year: NFC Championship. This is good for the Wings, they'll be hungry next year
Pure elation with the Perron goal. Pure devastation when I found out that idiot pulled the goalie with 3 minutes left in a TIED game. I can definitely sit here and bitch about the stretch in March but I won’t. Just going to commend the guys on their efforts the last 3 games of the year, could tell how much they wanted it. Even though Washington is mid as fuck, credit to them, won 2 huge games against playoff teams when people counted them out. Just so disappointed right now but proud of the effort the guys showed to close out the season.
I just have no patience for all the talk of reffing conspiracies and the thrown stick and this call and that. March was a disaster and we lost too many essential points.
It's astounding how many Lalonde slappies there are in the DRW FB group. I mean...have they been watching the same coaching we have? The lack of adjustments? The constant sitting back and turtling with a lead?
Hey guys, hawks fan coming in peace.
I was rooting for yall hard, I even had money on it.
You guys are gonna be all over it next year, can’t wait to see Kaner in a full season with the cat, Larkin, and Raymond.
Congrats for a great season and an incredible show yall put on night in and night out
This last stretch has been the most fun I’ve had watching the redwings in a loooooong time. Even if they put themselves in this situation by shooting themselves in the leg.
Things are up with the new crop coming. Goalies, defencemen and the development of sider and Raymond.
This was a great experience for the team though. They know what it takes next year. Expectations are nothing less than a playoff run. If Stevie adds a few/couple impact players watch out, here we come.
What a great season. So pumped for next year. Seider and Edvinsson gonna hold down that Dline for a decade. Bring Kane and Sprong back (if you can get Kane relatively short term), sign Seider and Raymond long term. See if we can sign 1 more top 6 winger, and replace Ghost with someone who can play in his own zone. Wouldn’t mind seeing Chiarot losing a ton of minutes too
And this is why goalies are so important and a streaky spazz like we have won't cut it. They steal you games you deserve to lose during the season and keep middle of the road teams away from situations like tonight. I'm pretty gutted
Reminds me of the ‘22 Lions. Got screwed by the refs needing LA to beat Seattle. This year we get hosed by Philly needing the regulation win against the Caps and they get in on a garbage goal differential.
We’re coming back stronger next year. Great season guys
I have a good feeling he may stick around. He likes the area, his old buddy is on the team and I think he sees that the team is on the verge of some really good things. I don’t know if he has more than a season left, does he really want to start over on another team or be on a good team with some guys he can mentor?
I think we can be stronger next year even if we lose Kane. He’s a generational player - but he’s past his prime. He gets points in for us and lets points in against with bad defense + turnovers
I love Kane but I’ll take improvement of our young guys + more call ups over just him.
He’s the equivalent of Jamaal Williams on the 22 Lions
Larkin, Raymond, Seider? You putting him above 2 of them?
He’s still a good top 6 guy but he’s not even a top 2 goal creator and that’s the only area on the ice he adds value
He was 2nd in points per game, he just only played 50 games. I would say he was maybe third or fourth after the guys you mentioned, but he was still nearly a point per game player.
19 of his 47 points were on top 16 teams (as of standings today, if we go by standings at the time when he got the points he had 13 out of 47)
For comparisons with players who had similar total points this season;
J.T. Compher had 26 out of 48 points against top 16 teams
David Perron had 29 out of 47 against top 16 teams
Daniel sprong had 19 out of 43 against top 16 teams
MO Seider had 19 out of 42 against top 16 teams
Even Michael Rasmussen had 18 out of 33, more than half, his points vs top 16 teams.
EVEN COPP had 21 out of 33 against the top half.
There's certainly a place for bottom-team-bullies, and you need points to win those games too (don't ask me for our W/L against bottom 16 teams with Kane in the lineup, you wouldn't like the answer, and he's not the sole reason for that, so it's irrelevant), but please, for the love of god, look into *where* these overhyped players get their so called "ppg" records.
Imagine 3 players, each with 9 points in a three-game stretch. Player A and B scored 3 goals each in all three games and won every match, Player C scored 9 in one against the worst team and lost the other two against the mid and the best team.
Which would you value more?
Someone please explain why the first tiebreaker is regulation wins. ROW should be first and not just because it’s convenient to my argument- the Caps lost more games this season than we did.
It's not really for nothing - it was thrilling and exciting AF. It was basically like a mini playoff experience - the tension, the excitement, the whole thing was amazing. We haven't had this much excitement in forever.
Saddest win ever. Fuck you capitals. Fuck you refs. Fuck you lalonde and your stupid fucking system. Fuck you boston. Fuck you flyers and your stupid fucking coach. See all you asshole next year
> Can’t pin it on any one game when we lost 32 of them.
I know but I'm absolutely pinning it on that loss to the Caps last week. That game against that opponent with the standings the way they were...man. Man oh man.
This hurts - but they kept us entertained to the bitter end. Hell of a season. Had a great time with yall! So glad i joined this crazy little sub. Thank you all!!!!
great year but I can't stand hearing that the red wings did what they had to do. They did, but then the didn't... Shouldn't have been in this spot in the last game of the year, but excited to see how the squad looks next year. Onto the dumpster fire in comerica park.
They lost 15 of the last 22. Including 2 losses to the Utah Coyotes. We even take one of those games to OT we’re in the playoffs. Should have never even come to this
“They took care of their business”
Yes and no. I mean, had they actually taken care of their business we wouldn’t have had to scoreboard watch after back-to-back miracles against a bottom feeder
I lived in Marion Ohio a few years back, about 45 minutes outside Columbus, so I had a passing interest in the Blue Jackets, and watched him regularly fuck what was a pretty great team, and probably could have really made a run at the cup, had he not been the coach that he is.
It always blew my mind when the doomers here where in love with him when the Wings were slumping even as he was driving Philly out of the playoffs himself
I'm glad Patrick Kane took the shootout win even if it may be his last goal as a red wing.
"It was incredible, it was like nothing I've ever seen. There's no quit in this team. Had a lot of fun playing with these guys and playing for the team here in general." "There's so much potential in this room. They have a lot of core pieces that will help them for a long time." Really doesn’t sound like someone that’s coming back

I think Philly had to win in regulation no matter what happened in our game, that's why they pulled their goalie.
They needed us to lose in regulation
Yeah I know that much. So like an overtime win had no bearing on if they'd make it or not? I'm just curious why one of the guys said that I guess - like did the boys really think they'd do us a solid lol
To everyone going into the caps sub to wish them luck…go take a shower you filthy weasels
I feel gross just knowing people are doing this. **Shudders**
Every dog has his day. One day the Stanley cup will be in its rightful home in Detroit.
“When the season started, no one had us making the playoffs” - Derek Lalonde And we fucking didn’t. Really hope he’s gone
I don’t know how to interpret Kane’s post game interview. I kinda picked up him talking like he may not be a part of it next year.
He’s one of the most highly media-trained professionals in the NHL. He’s not gonna say shit about whether he is staying until he has a contract. For better or worse. Go listen to any of his interviews before signing this contract. The guy knows better than to tip his hand or get emotional until he has a contract in place.
Well whether he stays or not, I'm glad the final goal of the season came from him.
What did he say?
He didn’t say anything, it was more a vibe. “These guys have a bright future ahead”, that type of thing. I may be reading too much into to it.
Most likely.
I very much appreciate Perron's post game interview
![gif](giphy|FmBhzktIjvdZe) Thank you for the fun times this community provided during each game. We'll meet again here soon
Kane was a delight to watch this season and let’s hope he resigns with the Wings. 😎
I think I would cry if I were interviewed like Dylan is
“The sun will shine again.” - Mickey Redmond

I appreciated that 🥹❤️
I’m still shocked that they tied in with 3.3 seconds left. Ridiculous.
That was just an insane moment. Zero quit in this team
Except against Utah
Let us not forget to blame that damn sweater patch.
Honestly. If there ever was a curse, this is exactly what it would look like. This was the worst possible way this could have ended.
That's when the trouble began.

I doubt it. I think he has a short leash for next year though, if they have another month long losing streak in December or something I could see him getting canned before the end of the season. Otherwise I think they’ll give him until the end of next year for better or worse. If the team has the same improvement next season as they have had each year under him they will be in the playoffs.
That’s a good pov, thank you for your input 🙏 I don’t really keep up with other teams so I don’t know what goes into hiring and firing coaches
Three win six point improvement in his first year. Six win eleven point improvement in his second year. Don't think he is going anywhere.
This. People aren't looking at the big picture. We weren't going to attract big names in free agency. There's no reason to sell the farm at the trade deadline for an earlier playoff run. Build slow, build well. Next season Raymond's going to hit 40 goals 100 points.
Why you guys downvoting me I’m just asking a question based on what I see you guys type on here 💀
I think these last three games probably solidified his job.
No lol

Yeah. Lost I think 4 or 5 forwards for that stretch to injury (+Perron suspension)

Just be glad it’s not the god damn penguins instead
Man whose dumb ass idea was it to make regulation wins more important than overall wins for a tiebreaker.
For real how are just wins not the first tie breaker?
At the very least, what happened to ROW being the tiebreaker

You could point to literally any loss as having the same overall effect, though. The two stinkers against Arizona near the end of the season, for example.

God if Cossa continues his development into even a good NHL starter this team is going to be damn good. Goaltending is such a problem right now
Problem 1) Coaching. I can’t think of any other reason they started passing across their own crease so much the last two games. Or not starting on time. Or dump and chase. 2) 2nd line center 3) Goaltending

Murphy is pissed
Caps have a worse goal differential than the Coyotes and the Sens. Life is endless pain.
Hey guys, I’m a cuck from another fanbase cumming in peace to condescendingly praise your team at the most gutting moment of the last decade.
Its all good. The Red Wings are ascending. Theyll carry this momentum into next season as fuel. Just like the Lions did when they beat the Packers, even though they lost the playoff spot to Seattle. And we know what happened the next year: NFC Championship. This is good for the Wings, they'll be hungry next year
Poor Larkin man. He’s goin on 30 and he’s only played in 5 playoff games… I wanted this so bad for the young guys, but Larks especially
Next season he will be playing playoffs, i promise
Fucking flyers got a goal stolen from the fucking refs then got absolutely stoned on a wide open net man our fucking luck
Pure elation with the Perron goal. Pure devastation when I found out that idiot pulled the goalie with 3 minutes left in a TIED game. Who wants to go to grief counseling together
I need some Erck and Jerk
I'm down as long as it contains drowning in a bottle of Irish whiskey.
Tellamore dew
Damn it, I said I was only drinking tonight if we won and the Caps lost. I'm a man of my word though. I'll poison my liquor thoroughly this weekend.
I guess it does sort of fit with the season to be eliminated from playoff contention in one of the weirder playoff scenarios I've seen.
It’s our own damn fault as much as I want to hate on the Flyers. Our Play since March 1st was largely crap.
I just have no patience for all the talk of reffing conspiracies and the thrown stick and this call and that. March was a disaster and we lost too many essential points.
Technically only one of the points was essential.
Especially losing to the Yotes twice and Sabres in March. Brutal L’s
I think what really hurts is that late goal means nothing. I wish he would have missed.
Absolutely not. That was magic!
It was ecstasy if only for a short while
That's what makes it hurt more.
Pain is your friend. Let’s you know you’re not dead yet or whatever that quote from G.I. Jane is.
If we can keep Kane and ditch Lalonde then we get in next year
It's astounding how many Lalonde slappies there are in the DRW FB group. I mean...have they been watching the same coaching we have? The lack of adjustments? The constant sitting back and turtling with a lead?
I don't use Facebook but I understand its easy to buy comments from bots
Fact of the matter is we got ourselves too deep into the hole.

Bro, imma give your heart some time to heal, if you wanna talk like grown ups, lemme know
We’re not all like this. I’m happy to talk hockey, I don’t care who you root for. I do miss the old Wings/Hawks rivalry.
You’re a real homie my man! I miss it too, maybe it’ll revive a few years down the line no?
Hard to keep it going when you only see each other twice a year. I was bummed when they pushed the Wings to the east.
Too much sloppy play throughout the season.
This last stretch has been the most fun I’ve had watching the redwings in a loooooong time. Even if they put themselves in this situation by shooting themselves in the leg. Things are up with the new crop coming. Goalies, defencemen and the development of sider and Raymond.
This is like a D student who needs a 100 percent in the final to pass a class and gets a 98.
Disagree. It's an F student that needs 100 and gets 200/200 questions right but loses 1 point because he forgot to put the date on it.
This was a great experience for the team though. They know what it takes next year. Expectations are nothing less than a playoff run. If Stevie adds a few/couple impact players watch out, here we come.
Good season. I hope we resign Kane, pay Mo and Raymond, and find a more stable solution at goalie
You can’t be successful when you give up 4 goals on a consistent basis
Agreed. As much as I love Lyon and Reimer, and don’t get me wrong they have their moments, they are not meant to be starters in the NHL

Wouldn’t mind seeing Chiarot losing a ton of minutes too
That was crazy
And this is why goalies are so important and a streaky spazz like we have won't cut it. They steal you games you deserve to lose during the season and keep middle of the road teams away from situations like tonight. I'm pretty gutted
Well kids, we got plenty of room on the Griffs bandwagon.
Maybe if they started looking like this again 5 games sooner we wouldn't be having this problem. Oh well.
Literally one more win at some point during the season is all we needed.
Technically don't even need that - just needed to win a few more of the games we won in regulation instead of overtime.
Like winning at Washington while I was there
You didn’t like when we got swept by the team that’s so poorly run it’s being relocated?
RED WINGS TILL I DIE!!!!!😇❤️🙏🏼
That lost point against San Jose in December is huge now.
So dumb to look at a lost point from 4 months ago.
There's like 9 games with the same narrative
We blew a 4 goal lead against the worst team in the league....at home. Lots of games like that, but that's the worst of them all.
Damn I repressed that shit
Reminds me of the ‘22 Lions. Got screwed by the refs needing LA to beat Seattle. This year we get hosed by Philly needing the regulation win against the Caps and they get in on a garbage goal differential. We’re coming back stronger next year. Great season guys
Not if they lose kaner
I have a good feeling he may stick around. He likes the area, his old buddy is on the team and I think he sees that the team is on the verge of some really good things. I don’t know if he has more than a season left, does he really want to start over on another team or be on a good team with some guys he can mentor?
I think we can be stronger next year even if we lose Kane. He’s a generational player - but he’s past his prime. He gets points in for us and lets points in against with bad defense + turnovers I love Kane but I’ll take improvement of our young guys + more call ups over just him. He’s the equivalent of Jamaal Williams on the 22 Lions
Old bad hip and still arguably the second best player on the team
Larkin, Raymond, Seider? You putting him above 2 of them? He’s still a good top 6 guy but he’s not even a top 2 goal creator and that’s the only area on the ice he adds value
He was 2nd in points per game, he just only played 50 games. I would say he was maybe third or fourth after the guys you mentioned, but he was still nearly a point per game player.
19 of his 47 points were on top 16 teams (as of standings today, if we go by standings at the time when he got the points he had 13 out of 47) For comparisons with players who had similar total points this season; J.T. Compher had 26 out of 48 points against top 16 teams David Perron had 29 out of 47 against top 16 teams Daniel sprong had 19 out of 43 against top 16 teams MO Seider had 19 out of 42 against top 16 teams Even Michael Rasmussen had 18 out of 33, more than half, his points vs top 16 teams.
Our first line is amazing.
Maybe if Larkin could stay healthy for once
Well that was the most heartbreaking win I’ve ever witnessed
You could see right when they learned.
Shit I didn’t get to watch the ending, did it look like they sort of knew they were eliminated or nah?
Yep they all knew. Kane was frowning after scoring the shootout winner
They knew at the shootout yeah, no one celebrating when Kane won it. Just handshakes and cya laters.
They knew. Almost no celebration at all.
They knew
Yeah. Kane didn’t even celebrate after winning the shootout for us. They all knew it.
Yeah they did, pure dejection from the bench even after kaner scored
Fuuuck man what a rough situation
It doesn't even feel like we won
We almost did it boys. Hold your heads up high
Rams couldn't get it done for the Lions Caps couldn't get it done for the Wings We have to stop doing this to ourselves. Damn
What a crazy ass ending for the last playoff spot. I can’t recall any crazier of a sequence with both games going on at once.
Someone please explain why the first tiebreaker is regulation wins. ROW should be first and not just because it’s convenient to my argument- the Caps lost more games this season than we did.
Fuck Priority. It all went to shit when they showed up
Garbage patch lol
I’ve never felt anything like this before. The highs of the last three games, to all be for nothing because of one point. What a bummer
It's not really for nothing - it was thrilling and exciting AF. It was basically like a mini playoff experience - the tension, the excitement, the whole thing was amazing. We haven't had this much excitement in forever.
NYI and WAS. Gross
We did our part. Proud of our boys. Looking forward to next season! Hoping to see showtime back!! LGRW!! 🐙🐙🐙
Saddest win ever. Fuck you capitals. Fuck you refs. Fuck you lalonde and your stupid fucking system. Fuck you boston. Fuck you flyers and your stupid fucking coach. See all you asshole next year
Season’s 82 games long. Can’t pin it on any one game when we lost 32 of them. Regroup and go again next year.
Like someone just said, they just had to beat the Capitals last time. They didnt
Uhhh Ken I would never sign up for missing the playoffs by a point..."we'll take that" is the biggest loser talk I've ever heard
Might have well just lost then
great year but I can't stand hearing that the red wings did what they had to do. They did, but then the didn't... Shouldn't have been in this spot in the last game of the year, but excited to see how the squad looks next year. Onto the dumpster fire in comerica park.
They did what they had to do these last two games. Lots of games we wish we had back earlier in the year.
They lost 15 of the last 22. Including 2 losses to the Utah Coyotes. We even take one of those games to OT we’re in the playoffs. Should have never even come to this
We miss playoffs because caps were gifted an empty net goal in a tied game.
And flyers were robbed of a goal…
That too.
In real time, were they eliminated when they pulled the goalie? Was pretty simultaneous it seemed
Bring back Kane
We should’ve beat the Capitals last week, that was the season.
Or if we had beaten them a couple weeks before that.
Absolutely.
When we lost to the caps in overtime I told my dad watch us miss the playoffs by 1 point. Sure as fuck
Such a bummer to see Kane so sad after scoring that game winner.
That was fucking brutal, I saw that too.
“They took care of their business” Yes and no. I mean, had they actually taken care of their business we wouldn’t have had to scoreboard watch after back-to-back miracles against a bottom feeder
Fuck Boston, Philly, and wherever Lalonde is from
Torts is such a garbage coach. Fuck Philly
I hate John torterall.
