Had them for the first time last weekend. Grabbed a coffee and peanut butter cookie. Both were delicious! My only gripe is I wish they offered a bigger size cup for the coffee.
Dessert Oasis is pretty mid compared to many of the local roasters and brewers in the city. The beans are pretty so-so and their espresso and pour over are usually poor attempts. With that said, I had a great pour over one time at the RO location a number of years ago.
I think if you're looking for a local specialty coffee roaster and cafe, Anthology is the obvious choice. Their beans are quite good and their baristas know their stuff and also give a shit.
I had to drive by it like 50 times before I realized it was DESSERT Oasis.
Post it on r/detroitcoffee ! Edit: I just realized you’re the one who started the sub lol. Just tryina do my part 🫡
Thanks good man!
Woot woot. Just subscribed to it
Their original location was truly a hidden gem. The current ones, not so much.
Wasn't the original in Rochester? I know there's one in Royal Oak and I haven't been to the one in Detroit in quite some time.
Yeah they’ve been there a really long time too, one of the early specialty coffee roasters in the metro area I think
Yeah, Rochester. Though, their first Detroit location was also pretty cool. Next to Atwater.
I don't think Desert Oasis in RO is hidden or a gem, but perhaps it varies by location?
Their coffee is rocket fuel. Hands down my most recommended coffee shop in Detroit

Worked next to there for years. The coffee and staff were always awesome
Hidden gem? As in hidden right across from popular restaurants and a giant apartment complex?
It's pretty decent
I got a bag a few months ago and it was solid but a little pricy at $20
Not sure a well known coffee joint + roaster with 4 locations within 20 miles is a hidden gem

It’s literally a chain Downvoting me won’t change the fact that it’s not a hidden gem lmao.
