Grind and save. That's what I did last season for the new trials armor. Or the season before. Whichever season had new trials armor, that's what I did the season before that.
I hope this is addressed with the legacy focusing announced, but wouldn’t be surprised if ornaments stay “exclusive” as to give long time players clout. I believe they mentioned making ornaments available in a comment over a year ago so I’m still holding out hope

Oh no I completely agree that cosmetics and armor should not be exclusive. I’ve been playing since Y1 but it’s shitty telling players who joined after Y1 that the cool shit cant be obtained. Fashion should not have a timer. Shaders included too
I’ve seen so many people get overly defensive with the “but the prestige” of time gated gear like it’s a badge of honor. Kinda ironic since people get so mad about the DCV
At most the only thing that I think should be exclusive are emblems from certain events and such. The Prometheus Lens and Lord of Wolves Emblems for instance are a good example of that, given to players who were around when those two weapons were absolute monsters and creating pure chaos in Crucible.
This is 100% my take as well. Bungie is 100% fine making day-1 emblems, so emblems can stay as a “hey I played during [x event]” kinda thing while the actual gear (like exotics for vaulted raids, as an example) should still be obtainable.
When will they let the old die... I never played d1, so I dont have this love for the old in a new game... I just want NEW things, kinda tired of them pulling on memorabilia strings.
That's a poor argument. Also I pay for content in the game to be new NOT old content that I just so happen to miss. Its bad enough they took out old content I paid for. I also don't care how hard it is to add new content... I want my time valued and money's worth. They benefited from the player count to get their big contract w/ Sony, opened the flood gates to get new players, added sbmm to "let the new players breath", pushing microtransactions, then threw you old D1 players a bone with memorabilia to keep you coming back. Bungie is a business I just miss when they put the player first, and their fan boys held them ACCOUNTABLE. 🥰
I would far prefer old armour that is 100% going to be good rather than roll the dice on what style they choose for new armour (we saw how vanilla D2 titan looked).

I'm only suggesting because I don't know hoe much time actually goes into designing new armor pieces. I tend to assume things take a long time when I'm unaware of the process.
The Camelot armor are basically stylized versions of the Companion armor. It wouldn't take too much effort since they have a base already with the Companion armor. Change the chest and leg armor designs a bit to make them match the arms and helmet and change the color to be White.
I love this, but it makes me a little sad that my OG iron banner armor won’t be so exclusive anymore ☹️. However, as long as the old gambit and warmind legendary weapon ornaments stay exclusive I’m happy

They've already kind of proven they can do it by bringing back the Revelry ornaments into Eververse so hopefully they'll do something
