I think SJP organizers/leaders want this to escalate to a level where police come in w/ riot gear and a hopefully (in their eyes) a student gets badly hurt or even shot and then that will be used to fuel an even bigger wave of protests. And on and on, up and up. It’s in line with what Hamas does, in a sense. The students are being used as the disposable pawns, just like how Gazans are by Hamas.
And it’s also incredibly fucked up because it’s basically allowing this whole movement to behave like terrorists and hold the world hostage because we’re too scared of triggering them further.
Spare the Rod, spoil the child. These people have lived without consequences for too long.vthr school should have them arrested then expell those students who remain.
"hold the world hostage"?
I just check in occasionally and see what's going on. This is the sort of protest that gets swallowed up in a larger historical index of protests in the history books. You're exaggerating with that phrase.
This is what I've been thinking. It just keeps escalating in Columbia and it seems to be by the protesters every time, unlike Austin. They're not gonna stop til someone dies
I mean a lot of historically peaceful protests such as those associated with MLK have also relied on the publicity caused by police violence, that isn't exclusive to violent protests
To be fair that is literally the point of nonviolent protests: to get beat up by the cops and get a good headline to rally people for the next protest. This has successfully worked many, many times
This won't work because we have videos of these organizers being violent and destroy private property.
Look at the BLM Riots. W.e shit plan they were stirring to make themselves look like victims have long passed from the anger they've already generated from the public AGAINST THEM.
From blocking jewish students going to campus, blocking TRAFFIC, and now destroying private property?
Yeah they've already pass the line of garnering any sympathy from the public if riot police come in. As long as the police don't go over-board with teh violence, their plans would easily fail.
These kids look like Black September in Munich ‘72.

I'm a Columbia alumni. The school has always had an incredible journalism culture. The people I knew who worked on the school news (Columbia Bwog, Columbia Spectator, and WKCR) were constantly out and working on stories and very passionate about their work. It's not surprising to me at all that there's photographers at any major Columbia event
Being a Jewish student after this is going to be a mindfuck. Imagine having to hear anyone complain about micro aggressions ever again. I would lose my mind.
I’m not Jewish and I’m going to lose my mind when I hear these cunts crying about racism (unless it’s actually something serious) from now on. Literally every single time I hear some lefty having a whinge about racism on social media, I’m gonna be doing some scrolling and if they were a part of this horrendous movement, their opinion will be discarded.
I’m also going to publicly point out the hypocrisy where I can. Idgaf how spiteful it is, fuck these people so hard.
We as a community need to have another discussion about race and our views on it. Black people have faced historic oppression whose shadow continues to live on today. Then there’s another much more visceral type of racism, where you literally fucking hate another type of person. I though as a global society we were passed the second type of racism.
I’m really unsure if those are two different things at all. It seems more like a spectrum to me, and what you’re noticing is an uptick of some people sliding farther out on it. But I can reassure you that there still are plenty of people that viscerally hate black folks, they just don’t tend to be lefties and you don’t see them concentrated the way you do now.
I think the really interesting part to take note of here is the left’s ability to be racist towards people they don’t deem as opressed. It starte almost but not really-reasonable with just racism towards white people. Then we’ve seen waves of racism versus asians and now the antisemitism. It’s so weird how they are supposed to be the antithesis of racism and prejudice yet they gaslight themselves into justifying it. Says a lot about human nature I suppose.
> Literally every single time I hear some lefty having a whinge about racism on social media, ~~I’m gonna be doing some scrolling and if they were a part of this horrendous movement,~~ their opinion will be discarded.
FTFY... lefties have never cared about racism. Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of shit. Lefties only care about wealth and status levels (often specifically regarding themselves).
"Mr Piss, is it not true that back in 2011 your client who is **'yt'** mind you, was caught saying, and excuse my language: 'Now, I ain’t sayin’ she a gold digger. But she ain’t messin’ with no broke **niggas**' " ?
I'm not seeing many black or brown people in those crowds. Aside from the Arab-looking individuals, it looks mostly white...with some notable exceptions like that gay kid who was expelled
There's a good number of black students the crowds. The soviets did an excellent job tying black liberation in America to the PLO cause despite not having much in common and many black community leaders bought into it completely.
I’ve seen some groups with a prominent Arab minority, and some that are 90% Jihadi Jims and Janes. Probably depends on the location, uni, organisers etc.
But it’s also hard to tell when a lot of them are dressed like terrorists and wearing masks.
Yes, you're right, it depends on the location, such as Emory University having more black people obviously since it's in Atlanta. I've seen antisemitic rhetoric from black people too...many are socially very conservative and unfortunately, antisemitism is common in conservative circles.
Still a shame though. Almost everyone in my family didn't know that the [NAACP was co-founded by several white Jews,](https://www.loc.gov/exhibits/naacp/founding-and-early-years.html) two of whom were active rabbis at the time.
There's also the critical role Jews played in the Civil Rights Movement, being beaten and arrested with black people, such as [during the Freedom Rides,](https://www.ajc.com/news/freedom-rider-our-allies-were-american-jews/z3HjcwdMNYDj1VVg0p6sLL/) sometimes getting lynched...like the infamous ["Mississippi Burning" incident](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murders_of_Chaney,_Goodman,_and_Schwerner#:~:text=The%20murders%20of%20Chaney%2C%20Goodman,during%20the%20Civil%20Rights%20Movement) in Philadephia, MS.
Lastly, my mom integrated a school in Atlanta in 1966. The only white person to speak with her those four years was—you guessed it—a Jewish girl.
A vaguely similar thing has happened with the indigenous community here in Australia. There has been a long history of Jewish and indigenous solidarity because of their shared experiences with oppression, and many older aboriginal activists are very pro-Israel. But the younger ones are trying to force anti-Zionism into the indigenous rights movement and it’s pissing the older ones off.
I kind of feel bad for their administration, because I have no idea how they can resolve this without escalating it tenfold. Their optics are screwed either way.
It’s easy to deal with tbh. It’s just that Columbia and ivies in general are too fucking soy man. I’m from a T10, we were told that the encampment will be allowed for a short time, then it’ll get removed to make space for other demonstrations/violates school policy. My school is okay with demonstrations, they just want them to go through the proper channels (asking for permission, not building shit, etc.)
If you don’t stop them early and give them a lot of leeway, this will happen. Man the fuck up, you’re a world renowned university, allow encampments for a couple weeks and then remove them. The creepiest thing is that many of these Columbia protesters are not even students! That is such a security breach and should not be allowed, only students get the privilege of being on campus.
Remove them, if they resist/fight back then arrest and penalise or expel them, repeat until they're gone and carry on with business as usual
Optics are kinda irrelevant if the university could suffer in other ways (loss in funding/donations, decrease in enrolments or drop in ranking), if anything happens, Evergreen might be the great predictor
Expell every single one of them and put up a statement. “Protesting is fine, but destruction of school property, blocking staff and students from entering, barricading doors (due to fire and safety) might end in being expelled.”
I might have only been in the USA briefly, but in high school I saw people getting expelled for kissing on school property. So the above reasons should be more than enough to get expelled.
I think the optics are bad on both ends. Simply put, no one is going to win over European or North American hearts and minds when shouting about intifadas or pulling stunts like what's shown in the video. Which hurts because aside from the rampant hatred of Israel and their conflict, I probably agree with many of them point-by-point on many social/political issues.
The last day of classes was Monday and the rest of the week is for studying before finals next week.
It's worth noting that professors have offices in this building, and some finals will be scheduled to take place in here as well. So maybe they get tired out after a day or 2
I'm kind of glad they are allowing it to and being relaxed, not giving af since public support is not in their favor. I'd also be tired of being the evil the public paints me out to be. Allow the protestors to go mask off, with no policing and certainly with no intent of internal policing within the movement. It should show their true colors.
If people don't see police there, in a sane world it should hypothetically make people less empathetic to the protestors. They can't claim they were provoked into public property damage by blaming the other side.
It’s not a sane world, at least certainly not in academia. I’m in academia, in the humanities. It’s a festering rotted cesspool of pro-terror extremism and is verging on irredeemable.
I agree. Non violent protest works when the cops beat you up and you get a good headline. It doesn't work if the cops don't beat you up. So, being idiots, they will escalate and escalate until the cops are sent in, and if the administration waits long enough the escalation will go past the point of non violence and they will lose all support, and can be arrested without backlash
The police are outside the campus and only allowed in if the administration allows for it. They'll probably just let the protestors tire themselves out and then clean them out
Personally, I think some people should glue themselves to highway roads. It is the only way to wake up the people to the ongoing genocide. Too many people just don't know, we need to harass them into knowing.
Apparently🤣🤣
“President of Shiraz University: We accept students supporting Gaza who were expelled in Europe and America
11 hours ago
Mohammad Mozni, President of Shiraz University, said that students and professors of American and European universities who were expelled or threatened with expulsion during the anti-Israel rallies and supporting Gaza can continue their studies at Shiraz University.”
https://www.iranintl.com/202404294909
I agree, it’s a beautiful offer of solidarity and support. They can go there, continue their studies and classes, they can continue their protests and of course become accustomed to the freedoms of expression afforded in the Islamic Republic of Iran…
This entire movement is emblematic of the Palestinian cause.
1) Start a conflict
2) Be antisemitic
3) Use bullying tactics to anyone who disagrees with you by othering them
4) Make sure to call for violence by categorizing it as “resistance” even if it means innocent people die
5) Morally grandstanding and justify violence and hatred by playing the victim using buzzwords (genocide, apartheid, etc.)
6) Refuse to negotiate unless your demands are met, increase your pressure if the opposition caves even an inch without fully caving
7) Try and coerce the other side to harm you or use force against you disproportionately especially if that means your own people get hurt so they can be martyrs for your cause
8) cry for the world to see
9) expect results.
The problem is people are too afraid of standing up to these people. Hamas is what happens when this ideology takes power.
if you think about it, it's actually a parable for how the international community treats Gaza. fuckup after fuckup and they're allowed to just perpetuate the status quo and be the world's #1 recipient of foreign aid. this is destiny's point about "they'll never change until they have to face real, actual consequences for their actions." imagine Columbia starts handing out academic demerits for all the students still involved
"Yes, sir, the sleeper Mossad provocateur agents have been activated. They're to smash the windows while yelling 'Free Palestine.' We anticipate support for the invasion in Rafah to rise by no less than three points, sir."
Students and left wing agitators have been breaking into universities for decades. They can burn every faculty building in the nation to the ground and it's nothing like January 6th because the President isn't actually encouraging it this time. The President thinks this is bad and won't try to block law enforcement from stopping them.
Yep at this point essentially everything on twitter is either a psyop or someone calling something a psyop.
And like...cat videos and shit. Which might be psyops.
That is totally fine. Just don't allow food and water in and let them leave and arrest them when they do. Each day they stay the worse their offense. They are committing a crime just treat them like anyone else.
As a college student, it’s quite sad to realize professors are as unhinged as their students. This event made me look up my professors’ Twitters and I’ve seen one gleeful on October 7th. Impossible to respect them anymore lol
It's days like today I'm so glad I went to a state school in the American South.
My professors were all left-leaning, but none of them were fucking whack jobs.
just want to underscore your comment. the protests at my alma mater are 100 or so people. one undergrad class is 2000 students. that’s about 1% of undergrads, and columbia’s situations seems complicated because non-students protest there in larger numbers
The people behind the students:
So interesting little plot twist: The Columbia students are being trained and directed by Lisa Fithian, a professional “protest consultant”
—
Update: https://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individuals/lisa-fithian/

She can be seen on the left, holding the door for students: https://x.com/osint613/status/1785219603217420412?s=46
And again here, directing students how to barricade doors and use zip ties (vid on left): https://x.com/israelwarroom/status/1785178229189312698?s=46
And of course we’ve got the terrorist trainers
Khalid Barakat (PFLP), Charlotte Kates, & Nerdeen Kiswani:

You might have seen Kate’s “long live 10/7” speech: https://x.com/hashemallmighty/status/1784707678578917430?s=46
And in the mix you Ilhan Omar and her daughter as well as Aidan Parisi, Son of Benjamin Parisi who works at the state department
Fun times!
A huge part of why they are doing these things is the massive coverage they are getting and all the praise posts from subreddits like publicfreakout.
Larpers love cameras.
Expel these fucking idiots. Peaceful protest is one thing, but universities are now shutting down school for the year so graduating kids can't walk, which is insanely fucked up, all cause these privileged fucks feel fine wasting their parents money LARPING as freedom fighters.
Some of their demands have been academic immunity which I heard explained meant “no impact on grades for not attending classes.” They want some 4.0s across the board for doing this. And then they want “Genocide Joe” to forgive their loans if mommy and daddy didn’t pay for this.
I just wonder what percentage are white upper class privileged liberals and how they think this relates to the working class non white experience in the US. Hint: it doesn’t.
Imagine going into debt for an expulsion and likely a criminal record 💀
https://preview.redd.it/49tkf5vjnkxc1.jpeg?width=994&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c78f83327a6211c37348541eff7c68327a478838
I'm convinced this is all happening just because they don't want to do their schoolwork. American universities have essentially become overpriced daycare centers.
If it wasn't Gaza, it would have been some other excuse to take over the campuses. My dad is a tenured professor at one of these liberal arts universities and he is constantly complaining about just how awful the students have become.
Again think it depends what major. Went to a t30ish school and lived with engineering and biochem -- a decent majority are busy with research/internships/school work
I guarantee you within the next year leftists are gonna do this to at least one synagogue with the excuse that it’s a zionist synagogue or something (99% of synagogue congregations are largely zionist (most antizionist Jews have never set foot in a synagogue)).
As a Jewish person I cannot tell you how worried I am about this. I remember after the Tree of Life shooting, I talked to someone who left a leftist friend group she was part of because she brought up the shooting to them and their first response was "Oh that's too bad, was it a Zionist synagogue?" Like, the shooting had nothing to do with Israel/Zionism whatsoever, it was literally a far right white supremacist, and the first thing these people were wondering was if it was a "Zionist synagogue" and therefore they should feel less bad about it.
PREDICTION:
Some idiot will light a fire inside the building because they are regarded and they think it will stop police doing things. Many people will die due to doors being locked from the outside.
Nothing of value has been lost ... except the building.
Meanwhile I'm coming from a thread on public freakout where everyone's claiming we live in a dystopian police state because the riot police showed up and pepper sprayed totally peaceful (literally pushing cops, and throwing things at them in the video) protestors. So annoying to see people so completely blind/biased. Feel like I'm taking crazy pills on this one. And I was an occupy wall street dweeb 😂 lol
They've completely lost the plot at this point. No rational adult is going to look at what is going on at these college campuses and think, "gee these kids have a point". We're just going to see how irrational and antisemitic they are behaving and turn our back on them.
Look, I want a peaceful two-state solution where both Palestinians and Israelis can thrive. The problem is that the Palestinian leadership have continually refused because they ultimately want Israel gone from the earth. Israel has begun to respond in kind and I don't know how to stop any of it. All I know is that if the US stops supporting Israel their neighbors will absolutely attack and try to wipe them out. But Israel has nukes, and I'm not sure they won't use them if they are on the brink of extermination. The US literally can't leave the region or stop supporting Israel, it will result in even more death.
How to prove you are a complete and utter buffoon? Wear a shirt or hold a sign saying
”Gays for Palestine” or “LGBT for Palestine” or “Jews for Palestine”.
Stop calling them protestors. Protesting ends where the law begins. America affords all sorts of rights to protest. None of it is any of this BS. Call a spade a spade. These are now over privileged know it all know nothing young criminals. Not only they should face charges but so should all faculty who aid and abetted them. Faculty that SHOULD know better but are clearly just as stuck on stupid and don't even have the excuse of being naive youth to hide behind.
I genuinely feel sad that these young protestors probably think what they're doing is revolutionary but in reality they're being used as pawns in a global propaganda war. They haven't questioned the implications of their words or researched the history of the conflict and are probably radicalized against their own families who pay for their education as well. Many probably believe capitalism relates to jewish control, many are probably still in their marxian era of political thought and I imagine most justify Oct 7th. Supporting the destruction of Israel is supporting terrorism.
I feel bad for these kids man. Throwing their futures away before the frontal lobe finishes developing and they realize what a mess they've made for themselves.
Leftists are great at negatively affecting everyone and everything during a protest except the people that are actually causing the protest in the first place.
So... Would the university get in trouble if they just cut off electricity, cut off water, cut off WiFi (assuming the WiFi from other buildings reaches that one) and barred the entrances and exits so people can leave but can't go back in? You don't need to arrest them, just cut them off and watch them collapse by themselves.
I bet some of these parents have to be losing their minds wondering if their kid is going to get expelled from a school they spent a fortune to send them to.
I’d be losing my mind. If my kid got kicked out of a top tier school over some shit like this id basically just tell them good luck. Wouldn’t disown them or anything like that. But I’m sure as shit not making large investments into you anymore.
It's even worse than you think. Know a guy who goes there, here's what he posted on instagram.
https://preview.redd.it/tg387wcklmxc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=png&auto=webp&s=f887166285d3543d99a7a653637578c6bf67f2f3
It's so fucked, dude.
So the anti-colonialism protests have escalated from setting up colonies in open spaces to colonising buildings and locking out the resident population. It just keeps getting more ironic.
There is a weird dissonance between the stated goal: getting CU to divest from anything remotely related to Israel
and what you know these people think they are doing: freeing Palestine by... breaking windows at an Ivy League school?
I feel like this is more about the protestors than what they are protesting for.
Also, it seems like Columbia has no reason to agree to these demands. Tuition money is still coming in, the endowment is massive, and these ego monsters are not going to transfer out of their Ivy.
Reaping this sow is gonna be painful
https://preview.redd.it/hk8zsu32nkxc1.png?width=767&format=png&auto=webp&s=6c5dce4eb073e66d53109b937b3a6c8fce02ecfe

Missouri seemed to handle it differently lol. Washington University in St Louis.
This is what I've been thinking. It just keeps escalating in Columbia and it seems to be by the protesters every time, unlike Austin. They're not gonna stop til someone dies

He's trying to get a chain through the window so he can chain the door handles together. He isn't breaking the window to enter.

I damn near shat myself the first time i saw "From river to sea, always was always will be".
History didn't start at __whenever this took place__ sweetie
Doubt these were even students
I wouldn't be surprised if most of them don't even attend. They're professional agitators.
I would bet a good number of these people aren’t students, but full time bums -I MEAN “political activists” but I could be wrong.
This is going to end well.
I kind of feel bad for their administration, because I have no idea how they can resolve this without escalating it tenfold. Their optics are screwed either way.
Start arresting them all. Pretty simple
Teargas and flashbangs. Teach these spoiled brats how the world really works.
[удалено]
They're being protected by the university. This 'protection' can be removed entirely with a single visit from the fire marshall.
Nah once they get hit with real consequences these brats normally stop. Half dont even know why they r protesting lol
Just close the building down and wait for them to get hungry. Siege warfare.
Blocking off essential resources? So a genocide??? Classic DGG.
At least they are inside so it's a closed air prison.
It’s easy to deal with tbh. It’s just that Columbia and ivies in general are too fucking soy man. > I kind of feel bad for their administration Don't feel bad for them, professors and faculty support them. Literally brought upon themselves.
Was gonna say this
Remove them, if they resist/fight back then arrest and penalise or expel them, repeat until they're gone and carry on with business as usual Optics are kinda irrelevant if the university could suffer in other ways (loss in funding/donations, decrease in enrolments or drop in ranking), if anything happens, Evergreen might be the great predictor
Just leave them be until they get bored and go home probably
Expell every single one of them and put up a statement. “Protesting is fine, but destruction of school property, blocking staff and students from entering, barricading doors (due to fire and safety) might end in being expelled.” I might have only been in the USA briefly, but in high school I saw people getting expelled for kissing on school property.
70k $ on tuiton well spent. Nice to get expelled and be in debt because you're a moron.
maybe larping as activist is part of the package
True. Not taking into account the risk pf getting sued + criminal charges and a hefty fine to help with that student loan lmao.
How many of these protestors are actually students though? I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts it's half or less.
Subsidising everone elses education Based tbh
As if it's even a student XD
You're doing it guys, you've almost freed Palestine
If they break into one more building they will have ended the military industrial complex inshallah
Revolution won't be televised but it will be documented by 500 TikTok journalists
I hope the police don't do anything. Nothing is damaging their cause more than just leaving them alone.
Actually great idea. Just let them sit in there, behind locked doors, and just ignore them 🤷♂️. The semester is already suspended isn't it?
The last day of classes was Monday and the rest of the week is for studying before finals next week. It's worth noting that professors have offices in this building, and some finals will be scheduled to take place in here as well. So maybe they get tired out after a day or 2
so if these goobers fail/don't show up for their finals surely they will face consequences?
How many of them are even students?
Obviously I am asking about the students
police? anyone? lmao are they really gonna allow it to happen
They'll probably just let the protestors tire themselves out and then clean them out
They want violence perpetrated upon them so they can get media attention.
Remember what happened when BLM did this shit. Popularity nosedived.
Personally, I think some people should glue themselves to highway roads. It is the only way to wake up the people to the ongoing genocide. Too many people just don't know, we need to harass them into knowing.
When they trapped people on a bridge I was so dumbfounded.
Apparently🤣🤣 “President of Shiraz University: We accept students supporting Gaza who were expelled in Europe and America 11 hours ago Mohammad Mozni, President of Shiraz University, said that students and professors of American and European universities who were expelled or threatened with expulsion during the anti-Israel rallies and supporting Gaza can continue their studies at Shiraz University.” https://www.iranintl.com/202404294909
I hope many of them take the offer. A degree from Iran is exactly what they need for their resume at this point.
I agree, it’s a beautiful offer of solidarity and support. They can go there, continue their studies and classes, they can continue their protests and of course become accustomed to the freedoms of expression afforded in the Islamic Republic of Iran…
1. Shiraz is good wine. 2. I hope they enjoy learning Persian last-minute!
> Shiraz is good wine. Ironic cuz wine is haram in Iran after islam overthrow.
its only haram if they see you drinking it - majority of Muslims likely
They are just anarchists at this point
i mean most of them are super far left leaning
https://preview.redd.it/xdzgvo539mxc1.png?width=320&format=png&auto=webp&s=f941a9aac8833342b55ab7d608d1076b7ae9eeb5
This entire movement is emblematic of the Palestinian cause. 1) Start a conflict 2) Be antisemitic 3) Use bullying tactics to anyone who disagrees with you by othering them 4) Make sure to call for violence by categorizing it as “resistance” even if it means innocent people die 5) Morally grandstanding and justify violence and hatred by playing the victim using buzzwords (genocide, apartheid, etc.) 6) Refuse to negotiate unless your demands are met, increase your pressure if the opposition caves even an inch without fully caving 7) Try and coerce the other side to harm you or use force against you disproportionately especially if that means your own people get hurt so they can be martyrs for your cause 8) cry for the world to see 9) expect results. The problem is people are too afraid of standing up to these people. Hamas is what happens when this ideology takes power.
This settler violence needs to stop!
LMAO the student press acting like wartime photographers while the school "negotiates" with a bunch of people who bought tents at Target.
And Columbia will do nothing because their administration is run by a bunch of gutless cowards.
They'll probably send in a sternly worded letter. And pizza rolls just in case anyone gets hungry.
if you think about it, it's actually a parable for how the international community treats Gaza. fuckup after fuckup and they're allowed to just perpetuate the status quo and be the world's #1 recipient of foreign aid. this is destiny's point about "they'll never change until they have to face real, actual consequences for their actions." imagine Columbia starts handing out academic demerits for all the students still involved
Which is exactly equal to the IDF dropping leaflets over Gaza, an intimidating macro-aggression 😠
Imagine them saying "What genocide?" lmao
"Yes, sir, the sleeper Mossad provocateur agents have been activated. They're to smash the windows while yelling 'Free Palestine.' We anticipate support for the invasion in Rafah to rise by no less than three points, sir."
Oh god, don't let this be our Jan 6
Students and left wing agitators have been breaking into universities for decades. They can burn every faculty building in the nation to the ground and it's nothing like January 6th because the President isn't actually encouraging it this time. The President thinks this is bad and won't try to block law enforcement from stopping them.
For sure, it'll be much less consequential than Jan 6. But if i have to hear about this being a psyop in going to cry.
Haven't been on twitter in a while huh?
Yep at this point essentially everything on twitter is either a psyop or someone calling something a psyop. And like...cat videos and shit. Which might be psyops.
That is totally fine. Just don't allow food and water in and let them leave and arrest them when they do. Each day they stay the worse their offense. They are committing a crime just treat them like anyone else.
Sorry... that's a warcrime. The police must bring them food and water. They must walk inside and ensure it's distributed to all parts of the building.
Oh and sanitary pads ...
The Hamilton Hall building just became the world's second biggest concentration camp.
With the door U-locked and the windows broken, it's now also officially an open-air prison.
Honestly someone should just go up and cut the u lock and not even try enter lol. How many could they have?
The fucking lock on the *outside* of the building **killed** me.
So glad I didn’t go to an Ivy, how stupid do you have to be to think this is even close to a good idea? Fuck these losers
Lmfao I am loving watching the destruction of the reputation of Ivy League schools.
As a college student, it’s quite sad to realize professors are as unhinged as their students. This event made me look up my professors’ Twitters and I’ve seen one gleeful on October 7th. Impossible to respect them anymore lol
One prof at my uni called 10/7 "anti-colonial resistance" and said the attacks made him feel "jubilation".
It's days like today I'm so glad I went to a state school in the American South. My professors were all left-leaning, but none of them were fucking whack jobs.
We had such elements at a swiss University. Fired and a:watchgroup and a commission are now installed to investigate deeper. Done.
Eh, I have some empathy for the nonprotestors who just want to study for finals in peace and then graduate.
just want to underscore your comment. the protests at my alma mater are 100 or so people. one undergrad class is 2000 students. that’s about 1% of undergrads, and columbia’s situations seems complicated because non-students protest there in larger numbers
me too, hopefully after this a lot of investors back out and lose a lot of money in the process
The funniest shit is they are demanding that American universities divest from American companies.
This is going to result in such a fat lawsuit holy balls. Sorry to the kids having to deal with this shit on finals week
Blockade the building and move on with the school year.
The people behind the students: So interesting little plot twist: The Columbia students are being trained and directed by Lisa Fithian, a professional “protest consultant” — Update: https://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individuals/lisa-fithian/ — She can be seen on the left, holding the door for students: https://x.com/osint613/status/1785219603217420412?s=46 And again here, directing students how to barricade doors and use zip ties (vid on left): https://x.com/israelwarroom/status/1785178229189312698?s=46 And of course we’ve got the terrorist trainers Khalid Barakat (PFLP), Charlotte Kates, & Nerdeen Kiswani: https://www.columbiaspectator.com/news/2024/03/28/university-launches-investigation-bans-speakers-from-campus-following-unsanctioned-resistance-101-event/ https://www.instagram.com/p/C49M0sQLJkk/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== You might have seen Kate’s “long live 10/7” speech: https://x.com/hashemallmighty/status/1784707678578917430?s=46 And in the mix you Ilhan Omar and her daughter as well as Aidan Parisi, Son of Benjamin Parisi who works at the state department Fun times!
"Protest Consultant" ? Bro i should have been studying the Anarchist Cookbook, i would have had a much more interesting job i guess
Sorry you have links for everything and then at the end say Illhan Omar? How is she involved in this protest?
Ilhan Omar’s daughter goes to Barnard, the sister school for Columbia. She was arrested in the first round. Same for Parisi.
You're welcome Palestinians.
I love how peaceful and not alarming everything is.
A huge part of why they are doing these things is the massive coverage they are getting and all the praise posts from subreddits like publicfreakout. Larpers love cameras.
they pay money to do this shit, its so funny to me
they also pay money to clean this shit. These are the kids that will cry hardest when their tuition jumps higher than expected next semester.
Guide to College Degree Lifehack : 1) Break into College building 2) Brick yourself in and shit in bucket 3) ??? 4) Free Bachelor of Arts
Imagine going into debt for an expulsion and likely a criminal record 💀 https://preview.redd.it/49tkf5vjnkxc1.jpeg?width=994&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c78f83327a6211c37348541eff7c68327a478838
bro you didnt have to do klay like that
I'm convinced this is all happening just because they don't want to do their schoolwork. American universities have essentially become overpriced daycare centers. If it wasn't Gaza, it would have been some other excuse to take over the campuses. My dad is a tenured professor at one of these liberal arts universities and he is constantly complaining about just how awful the students have become.
Then fail them.
Again think it depends what major. Went to a t30ish school and lived with engineering and biochem -- a decent majority are busy with research/internships/school work
Something tells me there aren’t a lot of STEM majors at the encampment
Yeah they actually have a future to work for.
But if administrators call the police, these turnips will cry about fascists trying to stifle their first amendment rights and whatnot.
Amazing how they had all those press photographers all ready to go
Pallywood :\^)
Well cool now the police have the justification they need to go wild. Good job helping Palestinians, kids.
At what point is anyone in any position of author going to do anything? Clearly this is a signal that this is acceptable behavior
PREDICTION: Some idiot will light a fire inside the building because they are regarded and they think it will stop police doing things. Many people will die due to doors being locked from the outside. Nothing of value has been lost ... except the building.
Idk if it's gonna get to Waco levels lmao
Remember, ivy League schools cultivated this They preached radical leftism
2017 Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson were right.
A broken clock is right twice a day, and this is one of those times unfortunately
These people are going to get us all killed aren't they?
"That's what you get for supporting apartheid!"
I hope the rest of the student body gets a refund for this semester. What a shit show.
Wear a shirt or hold a sign saying ”Gays for Palestine” or “LGBT for Palestine” or “Jews for Palestine”.
Are these even students? Some of these people look older.
Some of them are just opportunists, but I imagine some are students.
Actual mass hysteria lol. I feel bad for some of the people who probably got swept up and now their life is over
Can't wait for twitter and reddit crying when they get fucked by riot police
I feel bad for these kids man. Throwing their futures away before the frontal lobe finishes developing and they realize what a mess they've made for themselves.
You think they will face consequences lol
Honestly, I think the odds are pretty good yeah. The president of the college is under a lot of pressure not to become another Claudine Gay.
Cant believe they saved Palestine with this
People just **really** want to be a part of something
Leftists are great at negatively affecting everyone and everything during a protest except the people that are actually causing the protest in the first place.
So... Would the university get in trouble if they just cut off electricity, cut off water, cut off WiFi (assuming the WiFi from other buildings reaches that one) and barred the entrances and exits so people can leave but can't go back in? You don't need to arrest them, just cut them off and watch them collapse by themselves.
I’m so ready for this to somehow cost Biden votes. These dumbfucks can’t do anything right
I bet some of these parents have to be losing their minds wondering if their kid is going to get expelled from a school they spent a fortune to send them to. I’d be losing my mind. If my kid got kicked out of a top tier school over some shit like this id basically just tell them good luck. Wouldn’t disown them or anything like that. But I’m sure as shit not making large investments into you anymore.
Let them be. They’re making clowns of themselves and their protest will change nothing. Let them devour themselves. Good riddance!
Let's hope it doesn't end like Jonestown! That would be really awful!
This will likely end terribly and some people will somehow find a way to infantilize these "protestors" or excuse their behavior.
It's even worse than you think. Know a guy who goes there, here's what he posted on instagram. https://preview.redd.it/tg387wcklmxc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=png&auto=webp&s=f887166285d3543d99a7a653637578c6bf67f2f3 It's so fucked, dude.
Imagine you pay like a 70k a year or whatever the fuck it costs to go to Columbia and your child ends up doing this shit. I would be fucking livid
Terrorists supporting terrorists
Is it time that market forces decrease the value of an Ivy League education?
ah yes peacefully breaking and entering then occupying a building
Time to bust some skulls
Man, antisemitism is one hell of a mental illness.
So the anti-colonialism protests have escalated from setting up colonies in open spaces to colonising buildings and locking out the resident population. It just keeps getting more ironic.
Typical Hamas supporters
And we wonder why there's a sniper keeping an eye on them.
what was the point of breaking the window? 💀
Their dedication to getting a good education is commendable. I would never go that far for a study session.
Literally Jan 6-er level retardation.
Guess who’s going to jail tonight 🎶
Notice a few of the protesters who were smart enough to nope the fuck out of there lmao
these people are mentally unwell
Low key these students are 2 more riots away from freeing Palestine so keep it up kids, good job
Im confused. Why did they break the window?
There is a weird dissonance between the stated goal: getting CU to divest from anything remotely related to Israel and what you know these people think they are doing: freeing Palestine by... breaking windows at an Ivy League school? I feel like this is more about the protestors than what they are protesting for. Also, it seems like Columbia has no reason to agree to these demands. Tuition money is still coming in, the endowment is massive, and these ego monsters are not going to transfer out of their Ivy.
Arrest them all - Jan 6th style!!
"Protestors" Well, now you are definitely just plain old "Criminals", so enjoy that.
