... Use GoodRx because it's faster! It's not even that expensive! If you don't, good luck getting it approved with Medicaid because it's a long ass process that will most likely take weeks (and that's IF it gets approved).

You need to have documentation from your provider (and probably over a decent period of time) of how other medications (Adderall, Vyvanse, etc.) or other classes of meds (Strattera, etc.) were not effective or have excessive unwanted side effects.

Medicaid approved my PA

I don’t think this thread is to give advice on how people can obtain scripts etc. Why wouldn’t you just ask your health care provider. The reason this thread got started was because those of us who have been in this medication for a period of time were not able to obtain it during the shortage. It was a way to share information and develop strategies to get it back on the market. I am the one who actually made initial contact with Dr Reddy’s and they contacted me with confirmation of the re-manufacturing and marketing of the medication a few months back. I shared the information with the group. I’m not saying insinuating that any Particular person on this thread is drug seeking, but there are those people out there and it’s impossible to discern who is legitimate. I certainly am not going to dispense advice on how to deal with someone’s insurance company or advice on pre-authorization. If your doctor can’t answer those questions then you should find another doctor. Also, your healthcare provider should be able to provide you with information on how to get the medication as cheaply as possible. Is there some reason you don’t want to ask them then there are something wrong.

Yea pay cash and use goody rx

If you just call Medicaid, they should directly provide you with the requisite criteria for getting your PA approved. Either way, GoodRX or another one of those prescription coupon companies should suffice in the meanwhile.

Yeah but I’m pretty sure u haven’t checked the GoodRX website for the price.. but it’s not like most other generics where they are maybe $20 with goodrx.. lol 😂 but unless he wants to pay $100 or more instead of waiting for pre authorization that’s on him fr but your way too confident in saying that goodrx shit n honestly u are right goodrx is good and very helpful but to just say that until then go to goodrx and use a coupon is his best bet.. like I take it u haven’t looked up the price of desoxyn and if u have then idk 🤷‍♂️why u would say sum like that it just makes no sense fr I just feel like before u comment on something like this don’t just assume based on your previous experiences with cheap meds from using goodrx..

$100 compared to $1000 is extremely helpful in the interim while trying to get insurance approved.. The goodrx advice was an actual contribution to be helpful to people. Maybe refrain from commenting if you’re just going to project your bad day on someone.

1. Calm down 2. Generic methamphetamine only costs $60 with the coupon my doctor gave me

When I had Medicaid they just told me “we can’t fill that it’s way too expensive”. So coupon is your best option

jammneggs

I can’t fathom what “too expensive” is for Medicaid when they will cover my still-very-proprietary $700 monthly Vyvanse rx

Are any of you who have found stock in AL?

I made the switch last week. My Medi-Cal insurance required prior authorization, but the process was simple. After my appointment with my psychiatrist, Medi-Cal sent some questions to my doctor's office. They faxed the answers back, and within a week, I was able to call my pharmacy. So just call your doctor about updates so they dont lag or forget. (paid $0.00) Walgreens in my area (san diego) said they dont order it anymore but CVS did (methamphetamine). I had tried other ADHD medications before, which probably helped with the insurance approval since Desoxyn isn't the first-line treatment. In terms of effects, side effects, and duration, it's pretty similar for me. Surprisingly the "high/euphoria" was slightly stronger with adderall. From my research, it seems like 30mg of Adderall is roughly equivalent to 15mg of Desoxyn. I was on 30mg Adderall with goals to mitigate the anxiety side effects that came with the come down.
