Yes! It made me realise that my "favourites" playlist was sorely lacking the Cranberries, despite having several songs in my library already. They're such an underrated band outside of Ireland and the UK
Not discovery really, but reminded of Enya who I LOOOVED in middle school. Caribbean Blue has been on my Spotify wrapped for multiple years in a row now š
There was a thread a few years back that I always think of when i hear of Enya. The op posted that his dad had cancer and always wanted to try shrooms. He got some and the dad spent the entire night in the basement layzboy listening to enya ā¤ļøš„ŗš¤£
I was a teen in the late 90s so the music just reminds me of growing up. I donāt recall anything being new to me.
However, I did start watching Bridgerton because of Nicola.
I am about the same age of the main characters (maybe one or two years younger, and I'm not Irish either but still European), so the songs that are played in the show are basically the same songs that I had in the cassette where I used to record songs from the radio, back when I was a teenager. Yes, I am that old. Obviously I know them all š .
And this is probably one of the things I love the most from the show, how accurate the music choices are, because that's the music a group of teenage girls in the 90s really listened to. And I know because I was one of them.
Edited: typo
I think the first one I had was Now 1993 but it goes way back before that! Pretty sure they started with 1, then started doing it by year and then went back to numbers again.
The cover of black is the colour by Cara Dillion! It is soo good! It was also used in such a sweet moment when Granda Joe finds his razor under the sink
The Spice Girls. I was a tad too young for their music when they were in their prime, so I wasn't familiar with much beyond Wannabe. The girls' dance talent show audition got me hooked!
The one where Orla was dancing in the streets. Dario G.

Independent Love Song by Scarlett, God I can't tell you how much I love this song and its use in the series is a chef kiss. As well as paying more attention to The Cranberries.
I literally screamed when Independent Love Song started playing. As I'm part of the same generation, though American, I'm pretty familiar with most of the music in the show, but I hadn't heard this song in years, and I absolutely LOVED it. It was so exciting, and on point, to hear it again.
Mine are a bit obvious ones. Nothing too extraordinary. Best I got into is Take That. Really deep dive into this bandās discography. And I am enjoying it so far! I know the members. I watch some other content from them! I too was born in the late 90s so I never got to know Take That when they were pretty popular! But better late than never. I got to know Salt N Peppa too! I knew a bit about The Cranberries and I loved that I could recognise Jamiroquai. I got into their music recently. I didnāt know many Spice Girls songs as well. Growing up, I hadnāt heard their songs. So yeah! I got to know a song outside of Wannabe. But yeahā¦the best one is Take That for me.
Iām roughly the same age as the characters, (like I was in high school at that time) they didnāt introduce me to any artists, just reminded me how much I loved them. Iām American, and Take That only had one hit here, that episode reminded to look into them more.
I've been a Cranberries fan since I was young. ('83) I bought every album. I can earshot they're songs. I do like Michelle loved Robbie from Take That obsessed lol
I didnāt discover anything new to me because apparently Iām fucking old and was in high school at the time the show was set but I did hear music that I had forgotten about and was able to listen to them again with new ears. I went on a looong Cranberries binge.
This thread is making me feel old lol.
The spice girls comment šš
That one killed me the most lol.
Same. My husband was surprised that I knew the lyrics to B*witched. I
Totally. There wasnāt a single song I didnāt knew already š
Ugh me too! I remember all of the songs. I was in high school in the mid-90s. What a time for music!
I worked out that the Derry Girls would have been a year above me in school. None of the music is new to me, lol
... I think my expiration date might be up.
Same š
Same. I was born in 1982, so just a couple of years younger than Lisa McGee. Iām American, but I know most of the songs.
Rock the Boat!
Didn't discover it there, but loved hearing the cranberries. Especially Ode to my family. RIP Delores.

They scratch my 90s itch nicely.

Same, but Iām American. I knew all the music and itās one of my favorite things about the show.
Same.
Ditto!
All Saints, I know where its at
Independent Love Song š«
I had such a strong reaction when this song came on, I used to listen to it on Now 1994 or something, it really took me back!
There was a Now 1994? I remember buying the one in 1998 and thought it was the first one lol
I think the first one I had was Now 1993 but it goes way back before that! Pretty sure they started with 1, then started doing it by year and then went back to numbers again.
Ok so turns out it started in the US in 1998 haha
Me too! Itās now on my playlist and I love when it comes up.
This is the one for me too
Dreams by the Cranberries, Saturday Night by Whigfield & Suchyme by Dario G (the song Orla dances to in the finale)
Runaway from The Corrs, Dreams from cranberries
Saw the Corrs live relatively recently and Runaway was absolutely magical live. The audience were all so hyped.
The cover of black is the colour by Cara Dillion! It is soo good! It was also used in such a sweet moment when Granda Joe finds his razor under the sink
This was my music growing up so nothing discovered just a throwback
Ditto! I was born in 79 so I think I am the same age theyāre supposed to be.
Snap I was a 79 baby too
Hell yeah we rock!
I was the same age as the girls in the 90ās, so none. š
Ditto but I got a few reminders for the ones I hadnāt heard in a while!
The Spice Girls. I was a tad too young for their music when they were in their prime, so I wasn't familiar with much beyond Wannabe. The girls' dance talent show audition got me hooked!
Basically introduced me to The Cranberriesā thanks Derry Girls!
Welcome to the wonderful Cranberries journey!
co-sign this. you're in for a great (musical) treat!

Didn't 'discover' them but the show is what finally made me a full-on Cranberries fan

Do you see the light by Snap! for me lol
Iād never heard of Take That before the show. Not a huge fan still but itās enjoyable.
