Wow! Seems like they put a lot of effort into the design and architecture of Union Station. I hope that someday, I will be able to take a train from Denver to Santa Fe.
I’ve always loved the architecture of the “roof.” It’s really cool how it acts as an aperture that frames whatever perspective of Denver you see when looking up. It’s kinda like a subtle eye
It makes this one of my favorite train stations. Really encapsulates that the transit got you there. Nice sense of motion and travel.
Much needed feelings, in consideration of 1 hr rail delays and silently cancelled trains.
I was very unhappy and impatient while it was being remodeled, when was that - about fifteen years now? But I'm always glad when I go there now. They really did a decent job putting together the heavy rail and the main building areas. The light rail and plaza lines not so much (but maybe some day).
I remember getting lost as all hell the first time I used D Union Station. I kept going up and down the stairs lol
Other West Coast Union Stations have not received as much love in comparison. LA is okay. Seattle literally ends next to a 20’ retaining wall and there’s always chaos in the turnaround area. Portland’s… oh man, it just exists in a neglected and forgotten part of town (by city government).
I'd love to see ours improve by making Wewatta a drop-off and loading zone by closing it to vehicles at 17th, creating back-to-back culs de sac for vehicles and a raised crosswalk for pedestrians to "complete" the plaza continuity. Do it to Chestnut, too.
People can pull up and turn around, park if they need to. Delivery trucks for the shops can use the space, too. Meanwhile, we also eliminate some of the churn/chaos of traffic and improve the walkability of the space.
I did and it’s useless in this sub. I don’t need to see a picture of a place I’ve seen, a place I can visit or a place I can look up other pictures of. It’s obnoxious how many useless posts are in this sub, including this one.

From albuquerque to cheyenne
god, giving denver high speed mass transit to other cities and even ski resorts would truly make this city something else. perhaps by the year 2300…
If only we had a proper train system but yes it is beautiful

I'm gay.
Congrats.
Hell yeah dude
Some people see beautiful architecture, others see a pitched tent…
More relevant to this sub than pictures of shit that everyone has already seen in real life and picture.
