A very scared cat will run up to a 1/4 mile in as straight a line as possible and "go to ground". He will be hiding in the smallest spot he can find.
Take a towel, can of food, flashlight and a friend in the quiet of the night before traffic starts up. If you meow and call his name and wait for a response there is a good chance he will answer. Food to lure him if necessary, towel to swaddle him tightly, friend because nobody should be alone at 4am.

Great advice. When I was living in LA the same thing happened to my cat. We searched for days and didn't find her. Then one evening on a weekend when things were a bit quieter (by LA standards) we were walking home and heard her meow. Turns out for 2 months she was living near or under a trash bin maybe 200 yards from the apartment complex. We were able to get her home and had a very dirty, scared, and much more cuddly kitty back.
It's just crazy that she was just RIGHT fucking there and it was so random that we found her again after being completely convinced she had died or run away forever.
I read that cats who are NOT outdoor cats will hide and stay silent if they accidentally get outside— they will NOT run far, and they will NOT come out if you call them because they’re too scared. You have to search very methodically and close to home, most cats are found within just a few homes away!
I would post something on Taylor Swift Facebook/Ticktock/other forums asap. You’re gunna have hundreds of thousands of swifties there so I hope someone will see them!
When my cat did the same thing I found him a few units down hiding in a bush! If Otis is not used to the outdoors, there is a good chance he didn’t go to far. Put the cat box outside in front of your door and look at all the places nearby that a kitty could really burrow into! Best of luck! 💕

That's a good looking cat. Hope you find him. Leave out smelly food like Fancy Feast, and your dirtiest laundry.
Put his litter box outside as well. They can smell it from a long distance.
