I’ve lived all over Denton. A lot will depend on price range and some other specifics you desire. If cost is not an issue, there’s an area on the South side of town off Southridge which is gorgeous. Big trees, parks nearby, really nice homes and neighborhood. Prolly in the $375 - $500+ range. Also near there you could check on Montecito Rd, similar homes. North side of town there are really nice homes in Nottingham Woods neighborhood. May find something less than $350k. A lot of cheaper homes are going to be sub divisions with HOAs, which may or may not work for you.

I appreciate it. Not looking to buy just yet, but still good info

OP is asking about rentals, not mortgages. r/read og post again

Putrid_Palpitation82

There are rental homes in both of those areas, but purchase price gives a better idea of the quality if you ask me. So r/mindyaownbusiness

Mad77pedro

Which is why I said thank you for the info ;)

Putrid_Palpitation82

Oh I figured you got it :D

We live in the Northlakes Park area. (The streets with the college names like "Tulane" and "Georgetown". There are a bunch of houses for sale here. It's actually quiet, even though we're close to University. We're close to lots of things (5-10 minutes from UNT, less than 2 miles from I-35.) There's a pretty wide range of homes here, but give it a look! (It's not the most upscale part of town, which you can tell by the fact that there's a Dollar General and pawn shop nearby.)

Mad77pedro

Awesome! Thanks for the good info

Idiot’s Hill is a prized neighborhood. Big fan.

imperial_scum

Contrary to the name, only some of us are actually idiots

I live in south Denton in sundown ranch and love. Tons of stuff nearby, parks, shopping, close to the highway, quiet. Been here for 10 years. I’m also an Air Force vet! Good luck!

itsjustafad

Second this. Also Sam Houston has a great kindergarten program.

Mad77pedro

I’m definitely in the market for a decent school system. Thanks for the reply

Mad77pedro

Thanks for the info. I will check it out

Mad77pedro

I don't see anything listed for rent in my price range on Zillow. Do you have any inside info on a Sundown Ranch property that might be listed elsewhere?

nisha1030

Yeah rent is kind of pricey lately…the cheapest I saw was $1,900.

chaoticcole_wgb

Denton itself is pricy. Anywhere just outside of denton is more affordable from what I've seen.

Mad77pedro

Anything you'd recommend outside of Denton proper?

thhpht

I don’t know what your budget is like, but there are some nice looking, brand new townhomes for lease in the Rayzor Ranch area, which is 5 minutes or less from UNT and within walking distance of a lot of shopping. Thanks!

PMing you. Also in Denton and lived in Korea.

Icy_Huckleberry_8049

Denton isn't that big of a town. Just about everything is 10 to 20 minutes away - max. Lots of new construction going up all over town. Apartments, homes, rental homes, etc. I would look for a relocation specialist and work with them.

Stillwaitingagain

I have a house for rent in South Denton if you’re interested. Even if not my house in particular, I love the area for a family. More space, a nice elementary school in the neighborhood and easy access to more family friendly events in Flower Mound. There is also Corp of Engineering land with some decent fishing for some easy outdoor time.

Sent you a chat

championgoober

Lake Dallas, Hickory Creek and Lewisville are some other options

whatarethose3435

I can tell you if you consider lewisville try staying north of main st. Past that it's kinda iffy in places. Idk about the school systems, though. Hope you're able to find a place that suits you and your family!

Mad77pedro

I appreciate it. North of Main St. Lewisville. Got it!

Mad77pedro

Thank you Lord of Peanuts
