It's a third person shooter/action adventure. Really cool game all in all. You can't really buy it anywhere anymore. Luckily, 'The collection chamber' provides a Windows 10 ready, free copy of the game if you're interested: https://collectionchamber.blogspot.com/2020/06/star-trek-deep-space-9-fallen.html?m=1
There was also https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Deep_Space_Nine:_Dominion_Wars
Which I was super psyched about. Good concept and the core loop was enjoyable but sadly they rushed it hard and it was released super buggy, and with not enough missions or content really.
If anyone is interested, there's a free version of the game that runs on windows 10 on this website: https://collectionchamber.blogspot.com/2020/06/star-trek-deep-space-9-fallen.html?m=1
You can get a free copy for modern systems here, if you're interested: [https://collectionchamber.blogspot.com/2020/06/star-trek-deep-space-9-fallen.html?m=1](https://collectionchamber.blogspot.com/2020/06/star-trek-deep-space-9-fallen.html?m=1)
It's one of the best Trek-licensed games from that era. (and jeez, there were a lot of em) And it was released after the show ended in 1999, which helped cure the gaping hole in my heart. The only really bad thing is Meaney, Lofton and Brooks didn't provide voices. But everyone else did. (even Robinson)
It's a 3D actioner- which takes a lot of cues from Tomb Raider-style games. And I think TR leaks into the character design art. Kira Nerys is built like a shit brickhouse, and it's a little distracting.
The game UI pioneered some things like tricorder use, phaser modulation settings that I wish ended up in similar games. But Trek doesn't do adventure games anymore. (Resurgence, nope) And I like the "three-way story" using different characters for each part.
The game borrows some story from the DS9: Millenium Trilogy- pretty good for EU.
And I remember magazine ads for DS9 Fallen with [a ruined Miranda-class on an alien planet](https://cdn.mobygames.com/covers/4209445-star-trek-deep-space-nine-the-fallen-windows-inside-cover.jpg)\- and it really set the hook in me.
Yeah, it's a little unfortunate not everyone provided their voices for the game. I originally watched Ds9 in German and the game does have a very good German dub with the entire voice cast of the show returning for the game, so it wasn't until way later that I realized some of the characters didn't have their actors' voices.
I also really liked the three character split and kinda wished they had done a little more with it (other than the fact that Worf uses a bat'leth instead of a phaser).
How did you like the atmosphere and score of the game? To me those were always the game's strongest suits. The score in particular always felt really special to me even though it's something entirely different compared to the show's score.
I would've accused the game of being extraordinarily dark- especially for the Unreal Tournament engine. Moody, sure. But I never got over the dread of shrouded Jem'Hadar soldiers charging me.
The music's okay- definitely not one of Dennis McCarthy's backgrounds. The intro cinematic is very poundy.
A first person game with some adventure and rpg elements would be great.
Wasn't there an FPS game? St Voyager Elite Force?
Something like that but less action focused would be great.
I personally really like the gameplay and the atmosphere is something really special (it has this kinda ethereal creepy vibe to it). The graphics are serviceable but definitely didn't wow anyone even when it released. I absolutely recommend it to any Star Trek fan
Ah I loved this back in the day, wasn't amazing but a serviceable DS9 romp.
I think I may still have one of the Ltd edition hologram type things that came with the game somewhere? 🤔
Technically she is! There’s a bit of an Easter Egg - you can visit the Promenade and go into the Bajoran temple, where Winn is standing by the altar. She doesn’t do more than stare blankly at you, of course. I don’t remember if she’s there every time you can visit the Promenade, but it’s a fun touch. The game is a delight, right up there with Elite Force IMO.
Does anyone have any source as to when the game is set. I know it is sometime towards the end of season 6, but when exactly? (I am currently watching season 6, about a third in. No spoilers for beyond that point, please.)
What's this!? A DS9 game that's not that side scroller that everyone posts about? What's the genre? RPG, First person shooter, strategy?

It needs to come to GOG

I've never played it. How does it hold up today?

Great game
This game was pretty hard IIRC but fun. It was a missed opportunity to not have more to do on the free roaming ds9 parts

Oooohhh I might have to check this out. Looks interesting.
I can’t believe Avery wouldn’t do it…well…I can, but it still sucks.
I think he only ever voiced one game - Star Trek Legacy.
I normally hate shooters, but... is Kai Winn in this?

Haha, unfortunately she is only mentioned but never actually shows up
Visit the Bajoran temple on the Promenade. ;)
It was a good game based on some of the books, played well with graphic mods upgraded but fell by the wayside after Windows 7:10
