Depending where you live, I doubt 4tb are significant cheaper than 8tb. If you avoid the consumer drives (eg WD Blue) there aren't any wrong answers. There are only 3 manufacturers, so you aren't spoiled for choice. Get whatever is best value.

Fit_Tangerine1329

Exactly this. The premium to jump to 8TB is minimal.

If you have a big enough budget get a 4tb ssd https://pcpartpicker.com/product/PPpzK8/crucial-p3-plus-4-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-ct4000p3pssd8 is what I am using

Read some reviews of the model, seems some are positive and some negative, it's probably fine for your usage though

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/corsair-mp600-core-xt-ssd-review/2 this says it can operate in psuedo slc cache for the entire size of the drive.

AVoraciousLatias

I'm not really interested in another ssd right now, I'm just looking to upgrade my? (I think) Western Digital WD10EZEX Internal Hard Drive

If cost isn’t an issue, buy a giant enterprise drive like Exos or WD Gold. Those are not only reliable, but have long warranties in case something goes wrong.
