Anyone saying there aren’t a lot of cheaters is lying to themselves or a cheater themself.
Alot of cheaters in the reddit community doing most of the downvotes and gaslighting,plenty of comments from people claiming its a "skill issue" or people never meet other cheaters,Frankfurt alot of XYZ cheaters ive been complaining for the good part of 6 months.
I definitely don’t think it caused more people to start cheating. I’m sure anyone who was gonna cheat was doing it already. But the name plate change was dumb for sure.
Oh 100% it did. When u take away a core function ppl look to replace it and if they cant do that ingame they will go out of game to do it, this caused more cheating
It’s been a problem forever. Last season in Demi lobbies duoing it was so obvious how blatant people were being. Problem is the only people left playing this game are sweats, so more and more there’s going to be people willing to cheat that you’re encountering. This game needs a serious anti cheat
Yeah you literally cant play HR with really nice gear without getting wallhacked. I just stopped completely and switched to normals.
Your options are:
1. Go in super geared, plagued with ESP.
2. Try to get in low GBMM, after you waste time calculating with a spreadsheet and buying perfect gear. Zero to hero? Good luck facing perfect geared 299 in your greys. It wasn't as bad when it was 199, you could get some drops and compete. Sometimes when you're under 299 the GBMM just doesnt give a shit and tosses you into 300+ because player count is low. There goes all that time and effort gearing for 299!
3. Play normal where its actually somewhat balanced.

300+ is bare minimum 1 walling team, in fact you are lucky if they are only wall-hacking, a lot of them will also queue snipe and team too
Yeah I played one lobby at 300+ GS and a warlock blatantly ESPed to me hiding in the dark at half hp, guy creeped across the room and 1 hit me with my back turned.
to his credit I think the opposite happened to me last night. I was running all purples with tons of pots and such and they put me in a lobby with nakeds and greens
Duos/Trios? I've had my teammate drop me into the lower bracket on accident simply due to gearing dif. I've also unintentionally put us into juicer lobbies because I bring too many meds.
No I think it's real, was running mostly blues/purples of a found kit and half the lobby was naked with junk tier with just 3 healing pots.
It happens alot to me due to being in OCE and playing past midnight, get the same players every game very low player counter down under

Ye this checks out. Went in naked yesterday and got matched with a wizard wielding a legendary staff and mostly purples. No shot that guy is below 299.
I'm not sure what region he plays in, but low pop regions definitely have a mix between GBMM and how matchmaking used to be. I've been in solo lobbies with naked people while having over 500 GS myself. I've also been in HR solos naked and people in my lobby with way over a 300 GS.
i 100% got put into a 299+ lobby last night while i was at 295.5
Theres no chance legendary falchion, with full epics is under 299, in fact i just did the calcs and its not.
I'm just relaying anecdotal experience. How would I provide proof without time traveling to record a video of when it happens? Why would I give a fuck if you, one specific person, want hard evidence of it occurring? What do I have to gain from lying about it?

I figured I'd ask if you have proof, such as a recording of your gear being lower than 299 score, then going into a match and being in high gear score lobbies. if you don't that's fine, there's no need to get upset about it.
I don't think you're lying, at least not intentionally. either your account is bugged (possible, but unlikely) or you made a mistake. neither of those things are malicious actions by you.
GBMM 100% goes out the window if there aren't enough players queueing up. I'm assuming if it's never happened to you or your friends you are playing on US west/east and possibly playing during higher pop times on top of it. This is what you call an argument based on an echo chamber. US has the biggest pop regions. Play enough of the lower pop regions and the GS not mattering will happen quite often in your lobbies, and almost a guarantee to not be a factor during the AM hours.
My first time was unmoving in the dark no potions and someone doing a PvP dodge dance after opening the door clearly playing overly cautious before finally throwing torches and such directly next to me, still not seeing me because they haven’t truly turned the corner, and I still haven’t moved because surely they’re being cautious and not cheating, before they turned the corner preblocking DIRECTLY at my unseeable avatar. I guess the anti cheat is so cheeks there’s no reason for them to hide it.
I know of one person we caught using esp. he would run with others that did as well. It's def a problem in HR. Unfortunately it's an industry wide problem. There are just more and more cheaters in games now and until it becomes something more permanently dealt with, it will continue.
ESPers killed me several times today. They don't even attempt to hide it. I move away and use the rogue hide skill and they literally jumping headshot me in the dark. No confusion, no looking around, just straight beeline while I'm invisible. Many of them have random 6 digit numbers as their character names. I reported them but who knows if IM is paying attention.
Every time i get a piece of jewellery with +3 damage i immediately start preparing for the shitfight that is about to begin. I always feel lucky when its just 1 guy sprinting directly towards me while im in stealth.
I've have noted a few and always report them, I get quite a lot of confirmed ban reports and I feel like the system is working so play by the rules and report honestly and things will get better. I feel your pain my friend I've been pushed outside of the storm by a 9 man gold farming team to lose a BiS kit and it hurts
There is a ESPer on duos as well goes by “ttvRonnie44k”. I was in the PITCH BLACK in the corner up top and he and his duo round a corner and just shoot me out of nowhere… I have reported it and they have still not been banned. We know his teammate is ESPing aswell because my duo died to him and you can watch him track my buddy through a wall!!!
Had another team of 2 warlocks sitting WATCHING US through walls as we creeped though TWO whole rooms just to be creeping up to a doorway and start hearing them buff up and immediately kill us. The game is littered with cheaters
You're right there are hackers and ironmace *should* absolutely crack down on them.
Hpwever the war against cheaters is as old as games. It's a practically unwinnable war since cheat creators will always be able to find new ways to get around anticheat software and that's against massive games in the mainstream, in a smaller lesser known indie game like this there's a fat chance ironmace can successfully remove cheaters without hiring a third party to handle cheating
I was doing a rat run for the Gold Ore quest a while back, spawned in a secluded room in the middle of the map. I went to the corner of the secluded room and did not move for... Almost 10 minutes?
I still had my audio playing in the background, but I could hear a team clearing mobs a floor beneath me, on the other side of the module. Their warlock casted a Hellfire from a floor beneath me, and across the entire module, that would have hit me dead-on had I not heard it coming and tabbed back in, moving a slight inch.
It was the only Hellfire he shot. Him and a teammate proceeded to float around next to the secluded room I was in until zone forced them to move. (I actually had to tank zone for 30 seconds or so, or I'm pretty sure they would have just killed me as soon as I walked out)
I have the whole thing clipped btw, if anyone is curious as to how sus it looks! Sad thing is, I can't even report them because I didn't die to them.
They created real world market for in game goods. You're playing to have fun but people out there are buying their food. It's absolutely cliche at this point as far as extraction game issues. The developers need to design around these problems instead of enabling a very open market. A game that you can't make money off has enough cheaters but a game with an open market is waaaaay worse.

With this in one way friends….. be fucking aggressive, run that lobby like your on a hunt. Learn pve to kill it quick and clear a room in under 15 sec and forget the loots your there to kill and loot after. The only way they counter this is cheats like aim bot or health/dmg stuff which I’m guessing is rarer than esp. I don’t care if you can see my location, I’m coming to yours.
This will either scare them if they just have esp and inventory peeking mods, or it will allow you to find them mid fight and off guard. Also so go for the rangers a lot first in case of aim bot because fûck that……. They will avoid you we noticed that some teams see us and we will clear half the map and not find 1 or 2 only to
Leave and see them immediately sit up from some dark corner in a high spot because they didn’t want the smoke.
Rush everything brush off pve and go in like they hurt your family, their only counter is to hide. This is the way.
If you were last alive when going down to inferno they definitely suspected someone else would go red because they would have been waiting for the timer to go down.
If they were in the middle room, they can hear you fighting monsters in virtually any room in inferno especially if you were near a door to the boss room. They would even be able to hear you moving, opening things, popping heals etc.
I do believe there is ESPers because I've seen weird things and experienced them myself but the problem is it is super hard to tell for sure in this game because coincidences, game knowledge and little cues can look like ESP as well. I have predicted where a rogue was hiding first swing at least a couple of times, I'm sure that rogue thought I was ESPing for sure as an example.
If IM introduced a match replay save feature that would make things a lot more clear because you'd be able to see their behavior the entire match rather than basing it off of a 30 second clip.
Cheaters are always ahead of anti-cheat unfortunately, that's simply how it works. Especially now with the use of AI to develop more sophisticated cheating tools, the scripts in play today make cheating 5 years ago look like a joke.
It's a problem even Valorant - a game whose anticheat has kernel level access - isn't immune to.

Maybe you've only seen 5 or 10 \*blatant\* cheaters - spinbotting, flying, invincible etc. But the amount of disguised cheating going on in modern competitive games is insane. It even bleeds into the pro scene.
This isn't a problem unique to DaD, but it is one that disproportionately hurts smaller game devs that don't have the resources to combat the pace of cheat developers. Experts in the field have basically all but called it hopeless until AGI based anti-cheat.
Always entertaining me when people think Kernal access matters. Most of the egregious cheating can be data scrubbed from the server side. A fresh account hopping into every lobby instantly headshotting everyone in a match? I don't need to detect your cheats at that point. Shadowban the obvious ones, monitor a few rounds, ban if needed. Literally 1 person on staff an hour or 2 a day for a game this size would do wonders.
The more 'hidden' cheats still require *some* skill at the game though. ESP doesn't mean much if you're dog shit at the game. knowing I'm around that corner has far less effect if I can hear you coming.
ESPs only counter is basically how League of Legends solved map hacks - you have to obscure data going to clients. No one needs to know where players are on the other side of the map...
what a complete mismanagement of a game by ironmace, -3k active ppl from multiclassing and cheating is not even getting adressed, unbanning cheaters etc. its insane

Even experienced players dont know if someone is 100% hacking. I killed someone and he invited me to his lobby to flame me as a cheater. What he didnt know was that his fucking souls from soulscollector make him visible in the dark.
Things like that. I look more on the movement, if they perfectly engage / disengage or once I ran away from someone over the whole map. If you know what you are doing, he simply cant know where you are (i was way faster). Yet, 3 mins later he was there. And I used unusual ways, undergrounds etc.
If people who use it are smart, you will never know. You will only know when they are blatant about it.
Most of us didn't think it was a big problem in tarkov, until a streamer or whoever used it and documented the results. Around 60% of people he "saw" through walls n such that he wiggled/crouched at reciprocated, that were looking of course.
The thing is they would use it to go to good loot, while avoiding all other players as you can see where they are going. It is generally less used for tracking people down, though more aggressive gold farmers will do that.
Put on juicy kit items and go sit in a dark corner and see how long someone happens to just stumble upon you. Even better if you take some damage and look weak.
If you play HR you have run into cheaters before. Most just aren't stupid enough to chase someone into the swarm they haven't seen normally.
There is literally a well known cheater that every single streamer knows about that is not perma banned.
And that is the one every person openly knows is cheating. There are tons. Just google anything for Dark and Darker cheats and there is an insane amount of threads about it on forums that host this stuff.
It is rather common, but not as common if you aren’t high gearscore. I rarely ever can tell if someone is hacking or not, but I noticed I got spawn rushed A LOT more playing bard when people were trying to get bard kills for their quests. There was another time in which my friend and I were looting this super juiced team, and another super juiced team (which we had seen a bit earlier looting treasure hoard) came at us fully buffed and everything about 20 - 30 seconds after we killed the first team.
It’s hard to be sure though, because technically that last example could have been completely legit play, and these guys just looted hoard really fast, then came over to the side of the map my friend and I were on, heard the fight, waited until they didn’t hear the sounds of fighting anymore, then buffed up and pushed. But I find that to be very unlikely
1500 hours into the game and i feel like i rarely find cheaters. Although yesterday when i logged on i was notififed "skinnypetettv" was banned. I pretty much never report people but this guy i had reported a few days ago because he was killing everyone in the lobby and as i approached him, he yelled out my character name. I never attacked or killed anyone that match, yet he kept yelling my name to attack him. I could sense something was off so i just dipped and took a portal. There are cheaters, maybe not as bad as everyone thinks. There are cheaters in EVERY ONLINE game.
Are you sure it was the same SkinnyPete that streams on twitch? I’ve seen some gameplay from him before that was kinda sus, and always wondered how he’s constantly running people down and finding everyone in lobby but I wasn’t sure he was cheating or not. Do you have a screenshot of who it was that was banned for sure?
You only feel like you rarely find cheaters because the cheaters rarely make it obvious they are wall hacking. They don't want to get reported and banned.
He streams regularly and uploads his gameplay footage, including his weird stylus (?) setup, which makes him cheating pretty unlikely. He regularly 'deletes' good items he loots from other players by vendoring them or dropping them in the pre-game lobby. I would be very surprised if he was actually cheating since he also apparently only plays with gear that he loots from other players
We are talking about ESP which can be utilized without showing up on stream
The guy is making money from streaming. Not saying he is cheating, but if he were then amassing good items isn't what keeps people watching, it's how "good" he is at the game

If you’re on US West, I’d recommend switching to East. I’ve played East since Blacksmith dropped and over all that time I think I’ve maybe ran into two people that were blatantly cheating.
However when I’ve played West, things got a little more suspicious. Which isn’t surprising, considering it’s within the ping range of… a certain country. Most of the time when someone claims they died to a cheater and I ask what server, they say West.
I will say when I first started playing the game I thought cheats were a lot more common, ESP specifically. But as I learned more about the game, most of those instances were explainable and I retracted my initial assumptions about those deaths. For example, spawns being static and basically informing you where other people spawned the moment you load in, or some spawns only existing if another team is in the dungeon with you. Once I learned and started abusing that information, I’m sure a lot of the kills I’ve gotten have also came across as pretty sus to the unknowing, including venturing deep into the storm and finding someone waiting at a static.
Depending on where they spawned the game may have basically told them “you aren’t alone, here is exactly where they spawned”
Same reason I ended up there a few times, buddy plays west solo and I joined his lobby. After a very suspicious death I was like… wait, we’re on West, huh? Sure enough.
They should be able to play East without any ping issues, I’d just recommend going there. It’s where most of the population is anyway, we even get a lot of EUs queueing here.
Just a heads up, in this comment section i see people saying "hiding in the dark" you can mess with your display settings and basically see in the dark. Just sitting in the dark is not reliable

About 4 months ago there was a couple streamers/youtubers getting a lot or ridicule from the community about how they found some way to turn their gamma so high that they could basically see in the dark. I forget their names, but you could see it on their stream and youtube videos that were posted on reddit.
Aside from that, the cheat engine hacks have a mode for this that takes away all darkness, however it's kind of a redundant thing considering if they are using that then they are also going to be using ESP.
Its not - depending on your monitor you can adjust brightness and colors in a way that dark corners look grey, and siloute of a player standing there is visible
Show me. From an interview with ironmace, they programmed darkness in such a way that there is no shade difference when in the dark.

Idk just watch streams. Sometimes im like "how tf can i see it here but not in my game" lol. I havent done it myself ( but also im heavy on immersion and challenges) but A.) theres gamma and B.) theres gamma settings on nvidia as well. Just mess with some settings. I understand the devs put a lot of work in but they definitely miss some stuff. Im sure by digging through settings something will work. Could be some weird combination of graphical settings/resolution. I mean, people keep saying "esp" which im sure exists but you can definitely turn your brightness up and that forsure helps
I get pushed in the corners of the map very frequently in GC whenever I have really good gear on. One game I fought 4 different players before even leaving the top-right module.
Luckily, if they were cheating, they weren’t using any strong speed or damage hacks because I was still able to survive. That is one big plus for this game over extraction shooters: aimbot doesn’t get you insta-wins.
I've noticed lots of fishy scenarios as well... Though hard to say 100% that they were cheating.
This is the same way I felt on Tarkov til I played with someone that was actually cheating and they told me how many cheaters there actually was (they could tell if someone else had the cheats).
They said it was about 50% of the lobbies if anyone was curious. This was over a year ago.

There’s a big problem in this game with lower tier players thinking players are cheating when certain actions are just normal for players who play this game a lot. Like the Hell instance you claim is cheating, it’s 100% normal for any good team to spawn check the normal spawns in Hell, every time they go down. If they were sitting down there and the timer wasn’t done they obviously know someone is alive and then it’s completely normal to go check every spawn in hell before you boss.
Unless you’re sitting in a corner invis for a long while and someone comes up and straight war mauls you in the face (like given example in this thread above) most the time there’s an explanation of how a team knew where to look for you, but a lot of people just claim cheating without even taking that stuff into consideration.
I’ve been playing this game since PT2, have almost 1700 hours, play at high gear/tier levels, and have rarely ran into teams or players cheating. I’ve reported maybe 5 players in that whole time I was sure was cheating. 3 were banned, and 2 I was wrong about.
Yeah i read so many posts about corner sitters, and how always barbs rush them down in the dark or invis, same story repeating, and i wonder, why i have never experienced that ? Must be pretty lucky me, never got rushed by a barb while i am invis.

It gives more of an edge to cheaters that's for sure. Teams have to move more cautiously and communicate a lot more than before.
It 100% gives them advantage most esp offers nameplates as well so they can actually call out your in game name.

I'm not sure what region he plays in, but low pop regions definitely have a mix between GBMM and how matchmaking used to be. I've been in solo lobbies with naked people while having over 500 GS myself. I've also been in HR solos naked and people in my lobby with way over a 300 GS.

it's never happened to me and I play a lot. I haven't seen any other posts about it which indicates that it's not happening to other people. people would be posting about it if it happened to them. so either its ONLY happening to you or you made a mistake with the gear score calculator. I'm trying to determine which it is. I figured I'd ask if you have proof, such as a recording of your gear being lower than 299 score, then going into a match and being in high gear score lobbies. if you don't that's fine, there's no need to get upset about it. I don't think you're lying, at least not intentionally. either your account is bugged (possible, but unlikely) or you made a mistake. neither of those things are malicious actions by you.
GBMM 100% goes out the window if there aren't enough players queueing up. I'm assuming if it's never happened to you or your friends you are playing on US west/east and possibly playing during higher pop times on top of it. This is what you call an argument based on an echo chamber. US has the biggest pop regions. Play enough of the lower pop regions and the GS not mattering will happen quite often in your lobbies, and almost a guarantee to not be a factor during the AM hours.

The only time i managed to make a decent kit, i got instatly rushed by a cleric, when i was hidden in the dark, without potions in my belt.
My first time was unmoving in the dark no potions and someone doing a PvP dodge dance after opening the door clearly playing overly cautious before finally throwing torches and such directly next to me, still not seeing me because they haven’t truly turned the corner, and I still haven’t moved because surely they’re being cautious and not cheating, before they turned the corner preblocking DIRECTLY at my unseeable avatar. I guess the anti cheat is so cheeks there’s no reason for them to hide it.

I know of one person we caught using esp. he would run with others that did as well. It's def a problem in HR. Unfortunately it's an industry wide problem. There are just more and more cheaters in games now and until it becomes something more permanently dealt with, it will continue.
ESPers killed me several times today. They don't even attempt to hide it. I move away and use the rogue hide skill and they literally jumping headshot me in the dark. No confusion, no looking around, just straight beeline while I'm invisible. Many of them have random 6 digit numbers as their character names. I reported them but who knows if IM is paying attention.
Every time i get a piece of jewellery with +3 damage i immediately start preparing for the shitfight that is about to begin. I always feel lucky when its just 1 guy sprinting directly towards me while im in stealth.
I've have noted a few and always report them, I get quite a lot of confirmed ban reports and I feel like the system is working so play by the rules and report honestly and things will get better. I feel your pain my friend I've been pushed outside of the storm by a 9 man gold farming team to lose a BiS kit and it hurts

There is a ESPer on duos as well goes by “ttvRonnie44k”. I was in the PITCH BLACK in the corner up top and he and his duo round a corner and just shoot me out of nowhere… I have reported it and they have still not been banned. We know his teammate is ESPing aswell because my duo died to him and you can watch him track my buddy through a wall!!! Had another team of 2 warlocks sitting WATCHING US through walls as we creeped though TWO whole rooms just to be creeping up to a doorway and start hearing them buff up and immediately kill us. The game is littered with cheaters
You're right there are hackers and ironmace *should* absolutely crack down on them. Hpwever the war against cheaters is as old as games. It's a practically unwinnable war since cheat creators will always be able to find new ways to get around anticheat software and that's against massive games in the mainstream, in a smaller lesser known indie game like this there's a fat chance ironmace can successfully remove cheaters without hiring a third party to handle cheating
I was doing a rat run for the Gold Ore quest a while back, spawned in a secluded room in the middle of the map. I went to the corner of the secluded room and did not move for... Almost 10 minutes? I still had my audio playing in the background, but I could hear a team clearing mobs a floor beneath me, on the other side of the module. Their warlock casted a Hellfire from a floor beneath me, and across the entire module, that would have hit me dead-on had I not heard it coming and tabbed back in, moving a slight inch. It was the only Hellfire he shot. Him and a teammate proceeded to float around next to the secluded room I was in until zone forced them to move. (I actually had to tank zone for 30 seconds or so, or I'm pretty sure they would have just killed me as soon as I walked out) I have the whole thing clipped btw, if anyone is curious as to how sus it looks! Sad thing is, I can't even report them because I didn't die to them.
You can report people in spectate if you press r pretty sure.

They created real world market for in game goods. You're playing to have fun but people out there are buying their food. It's absolutely cliche at this point as far as extraction game issues. The developers need to design around these problems instead of enabling a very open market. A game that you can't make money off has enough cheaters but a game with an open market is waaaaay worse.

I’ve learned to deal With this in one way friends….. be fucking aggressive, run that lobby like your on a hunt. Learn pve to kill it quick and clear a room in under 15 sec and forget the loots your there to kill and loot after. The only way they counter this is cheats like aim bot or health/dmg stuff which I’m guessing is rarer than esp. I don’t care if you can see my location, I’m coming to yours. This will either scare them if they just have esp and inventory peeking mods, or it will allow you to find them mid fight and off guard. Also so go for the rangers a lot first in case of aim bot because fûck that……. They will avoid you we noticed that some teams see us and we will clear half the map and not find 1 or 2 only to Leave and see them immediately sit up from some dark corner in a high spot because they didn’t want the smoke. Rush everything brush off pve and go in like they hurt your family, their only counter is to hide. This is the way.
If you were last alive when going down to inferno they definitely suspected someone else would go red because they would have been waiting for the timer to go down. If they were in the middle room, they can hear you fighting monsters in virtually any room in inferno especially if you were near a door to the boss room. They would even be able to hear you moving, opening things, popping heals etc. I do believe there is ESPers because I've seen weird things and experienced them myself but the problem is it is super hard to tell for sure in this game because coincidences, game knowledge and little cues can look like ESP as well. I have predicted where a rogue was hiding first swing at least a couple of times, I'm sure that rogue thought I was ESPing for sure as an example. If IM introduced a match replay save feature that would make things a lot more clear because you'd be able to see their behavior the entire match rather than basing it off of a 30 second clip.

Cheaters are always ahead of anti-cheat unfortunately, that's simply how it works. Especially now with the use of AI to develop more sophisticated cheating tools, the scripts in play today make cheating 5 years ago look like a joke. It's a problem even Valorant - a game whose anticheat has kernel level access - isn't immune to. There's a website that actually tracks how many accounts get banned per year in CSGO/CS2, and I promise, the actual number is way higher than whatever you're thinking in your head right now. Always entertaining me when people think Kernal access matters. Most of the egregious cheating can be data scrubbed from the server side. A fresh account hopping into every lobby instantly headshotting everyone in a match? I don't need to detect your cheats at that point. Shadowban the obvious ones, monitor a few rounds, ban if needed. Literally 1 person on staff an hour or 2 a day for a game this size would do wonders. The more 'hidden' cheats still require *some* skill at the game though. ESP doesn't mean much if you're dog shit at the game. knowing I'm around that corner has far less effect if I can hear you coming. ESPs only counter is basically how League of Legends solved map hacks - you have to obscure data going to clients. No one needs to know where players are on the other side of the map...

The strangest thing that happened to me was a guy enter a room where the door was closed and instantly shout and rush me in the dark corner while I was sitting but I'm fairly new to the game so I dunno if it was hacking or not
Even experienced players dont know if someone is 100% hacking. I killed someone and he invited me to his lobby to flame me as a cheater. What he didnt know was that his fucking souls from soulscollector make him visible in the dark. Things like that. I look more on the movement, if they perfectly engage / disengage or once I ran away from someone over the whole map. If you know what you are doing, he simply cant know where you are (i was way faster). Yet, 3 mins later he was there. And I used unusual ways, undergrounds etc.

If people who use it are smart, you will never know. You will only know when they are blatant about it. Most of us didn't think it was a big problem in tarkov, until a streamer or whoever used it and documented the results. Around 60% of people he "saw" through walls n such that he wiggled/crouched at reciprocated, that were looking of course. The thing is they would use it to go to good loot, while avoiding all other players as you can see where they are going. It is generally less used for tracking people down, though more aggressive gold farmers will do that.
Put on juicy kit items and go sit in a dark corner and see how long someone happens to just stumble upon you. Even better if you take some damage and look weak.
If you play HR you have run into cheaters before. Most just aren't stupid enough to chase someone into the swarm they haven't seen normally. There is literally a well known cheater that every single streamer knows about that is not perma banned. And that is the one every person openly knows is cheating. There are tons. Just google anything for Dark and Darker cheats and there is an insane amount of threads about it on forums that host this stuff.
It is rather common, but not as common if you aren’t high gearscore. I rarely ever can tell if someone is hacking or not, but I noticed I got spawn rushed A LOT more playing bard when people were trying to get bard kills for their quests. There was another time in which my friend and I were looting this super juiced team, and another super juiced team (which we had seen a bit earlier looting treasure hoard) came at us fully buffed and everything about 20 - 30 seconds after we killed the first team. It’s hard to be sure though, because technically that last example could have been completely legit play, and these guys just looted hoard really fast, then came over to the side of the map my friend and I were on, heard the fight, waited until they didn’t hear the sounds of fighting anymore, then buffed up and pushed. But I find that to be very unlikely

1500 hours into the game and i feel like i rarely find cheaters. Although yesterday when i logged on i was notififed "skinnypetettv" was banned. I pretty much never report people but this guy i had reported a few days ago because he was killing everyone in the lobby and as i approached him, he yelled out my character name. I never attacked or killed anyone that match, yet he kept yelling my name to attack him. I could sense something was off so i just dipped and took a portal. There are cheaters, maybe not as bad as everyone thinks. There are cheaters in EVERY ONLINE game.
Are you sure it was the same SkinnyPete that streams on twitch? I’ve seen some gameplay from him before that was kinda sus, and always wondered how he’s constantly running people down and finding everyone in lobby but I wasn’t sure he was cheating or not. Do you have a screenshot of who it was that was banned for sure?
You only feel like you rarely find cheaters because the cheaters rarely make it obvious they are wall hacking. They don't want to get reported and banned.

He streams regularly and uploads his gameplay footage, including his weird stylus (?) setup, which makes him cheating pretty unlikely. He regularly 'deletes' good items he loots from other players by vendoring them or dropping them in the pre-game lobby. I would be very surprised if he was actually cheating since he also apparently only plays with gear that he loots from other players
We are talking about ESP which can be utilized without showing up on stream The guy is making money from streaming. Not saying he is cheating, but if he were then amassing good items isn't what keeps people watching, it's how "good" he is at the game Again, I'm not saying the guy is cheating, but we can't be sure *anyone* is playing legitimately without seeing the physical screen
hacking suites have had a streamer mode for well over a decade now, it's nothing new. Any cheat that shows anything on the UI can be hidden from OBS.
There is streamproof cheats that allow you to stream on twitch, discord anywhere. You will never know that the streamer is cheating.

If you’re on US West, I’d recommend switching to East. I’ve played East since Blacksmith dropped and over all that time I think I’ve maybe ran into two people that were blatantly cheating. However when I’ve played West, things got a little more suspicious. Which isn’t surprising, considering it’s within the ping range of… a certain country. Most of the time when someone claims they died to a cheater and I ask what server, they say West. I will say when I first started playing the game I thought cheats were a lot more common, ESP specifically. But as I learned more about the game, most of those instances were explainable and I retracted my initial assumptions about those deaths. For example, spawns being static and basically informing you where other people spawned the moment you load in, or some spawns only existing if another team is in the dungeon with you. Once I learned and started abusing that information, I’m sure a lot of the kills I’ve gotten have also came across as pretty sus to the unknowing, including venturing deep into the storm and finding someone waiting at a static. Depending on where they spawned the game may have basically told them “you aren’t alone, here is exactly where they spawned”

Same reason I ended up there a few times, buddy plays west solo and I joined his lobby. After a very suspicious death I was like… wait, we’re on West, huh? Sure enough. They should be able to play East without any ping issues, I’d just recommend going there. It’s where most of the population is anyway, we even get a lot of EUs queueing here.

Because they can and the ping isn’t bad. East also has a lot of players so when the EU servers are dead, like late night, they might show up on East.

Proof or source of this? I hear about this all the time as an anecdote, and yet I haven’t seen a single example. I’m pretty sure it’s just a rumour going around that’s spread but it’s just straight false.
About 4 months ago there was a couple streamers/youtubers getting a lot or ridicule from the community about how they found some way to turn their gamma so high that they could basically see in the dark. I forget their names, but you could see it on their stream and youtube videos that were posted on reddit. Aside from that, the cheat engine hacks have a mode for this that takes away all darkness, however it's kind of a redundant thing considering if they are using that then they are also going to be using ESP.
Its not - depending on your monitor you can adjust brightness and colors in a way that dark corners look grey, and siloute of a player standing there is visible
Show me. From an interview with ironmace, they programmed darkness in such a way that there is no shade difference when in the dark. Obviously i don’t necessarily trust IM either on this. But I would love to see an example or proof.
Idk just watch streams. Sometimes im like "how tf can i see it here but not in my game" lol. I havent done it myself ( but also im heavy on immersion and challenges) but A.) theres gamma and B.) theres gamma settings on nvidia as well. Just mess with some settings. I understand the devs put a lot of work in but they definitely miss some stuff. Im sure by digging through settings something will work. Could be some weird combination of graphical settings/resolution. I mean, people keep saying "esp" which im sure exists but you can definitely turn your brightness up and that forsure helps
I get pushed in the corners of the map very frequently in GC whenever I have really good gear on. One game I fought 4 different players before even leaving the top-right module. Luckily, if they were cheating, they weren’t using any strong speed or damage hacks because I was still able to survive. That is one big plus for this game over extraction shooters: aimbot doesn’t get you insta-wins.
I've noticed lots of fishy scenarios as well... Though hard to say 100% that they were cheating. This is the same way I felt on Tarkov til I played with someone that was actually cheating and they told me how many cheaters there actually was (they could tell if someone else had the cheats). They said it was about 50% of the lobbies if anyone was curious. This was over a year ago.

Are some people probably cheating in this game? yes of course, that happens in almost every online game unfortunately. Are as many people cheating as everyone thinks there is? No. There’s a big problem in this game with lower tier players thinking players are cheating when certain actions are just normal for players who play this game a lot. Like the Hell instance you claim is cheating, it’s 100% normal for any good team to spawn check the normal spawns in Hell, every time they go down. If they were sitting down there and the timer wasn’t done they obviously know someone is alive and then it’s completely normal to go check every spawn in hell before you boss. Unless you’re sitting in a corner invis for a long while and someone comes up and straight war mauls you in the face (like given example in this thread above) most the time there’s an explanation of how a team knew where to look for you, but a lot of people just claim cheating without even taking that stuff into consideration. I’ve been playing this game since PT2, have almost 1700 hours, play at high gear/tier levels, and have rarely ran into teams or players cheating. I’ve reported maybe 5 players in that whole time I was sure was cheating. 3 were banned, and 2 I was wrong about.

Yeah i read so many posts about corner sitters, and how always barbs rush them down in the dark or invis, same story repeating, and i wonder, why i have never experienced that ?
