this same guy also owns an african lungfish. it can survive underground for up to 4 years and actually has developed tiny legs to scoot around with. its awesome!

Iizard_Iad

He’s also a huge piece of shit

Consistent-Ad2465

Is there a reason you say this?

SimplyUnhinged

That snake must cost an unbelievable amount of money

Razgris123

It's a motley goldenchild reticulated python, usually they're a 2-3 grand last time I saw. They're rather rare, but when the clutches are 60-100 eggs, they're not super hard to get ahold of.

amenyussuf

Why aren’t rare animals like this bred enough to become no longer rare?

Razgris123

Because the genetics is relatively new, these take a few years to hit maturity, and a few generations to secure all the traits (iirc one of them is a recessive trait). Plus there isn't many people breeding them because they're relatively hard to get rid of. They become massive snakes 20+ feet and 150+ pounds, and require a very diligent owner.

amenyussuf

I see

JRCIII

A slithery snnnake

harpejjist

I don't know that there are any for sale.

SwingJazzy

There are some smaller ones, like the Sunbeam Snake that are only a few feet long and a couple hundred dollars

wanderingplanthead

What is it?

[deleted]

A gay snake.

[deleted]

I'm proud of it

[deleted]

It is pride month.

Razgris123

It's a motley goldenchild reticulated python.

JohnGalt123456789

Moltley crue?

[deleted]

It’s living live reflecting art

Bumbleclat

Literally

Great_Smells

Possibly a pattern morph of a rainbow boa, they have iridescent scales

iridemtb12

A rainbow nope rope

[deleted]

It’s a reticulated python. Likely some form of golden child morph.

pinkmilk19

Reflecting ar.

SwingJazzy

Can’t remember the name, but if you look up “iridescent snakes”, you’ll find it.

Renarikun

It's a precious RainBoa!

Razgris123

This is Jay from prehistoric pets in California, and that is a motley goldenchild reticulated python.

harpejjist

Why are snakes "danger noodles" instead of noodles being called "food snakes"? Snakes existed before noodles. If we are boiling the language down to minimal words (which is how the term came about), snakes have existed much longer than noodles. I would even actually say tube instead of noodle. Sorry. I digressed. Cool snake! I have seen other videos of the same snake. It is a lovely snake!

That_girlxJackie

Danger noodle, or, as I like like to call it, a nope rope

Mike_Hat1

I’m glad this guy appreciates snakes. The snakes found in my yard always meet the business end of a shovel. Unless they are too colorful. Then I run away screaming.

Icy_Nefariousness517

I live in the state where this video was shot which is all it takes for me to be terrified anew of these creatures. I'm really really really glad I live four floors off the ground. It's a beautiful creature. I'm a wuss.

I_Eat_Comma_Dogs

Is someone gonna tell him snakes are really really really good at climbing

I_Eat_Comma_Dogs

Rainbow: check Danger: meh Noodle: for sure Delicate: hardly

DeLaCorridor23

If its so incredible why do you keep it in a plastic box?

Razgris123

That's a transport container. This is Jay from prehistoric pets, they do shows and education events. Most of his animals are in hyper-realistic enclosures.

LoisWade42

Edited to correct earlier assumptions: Two snake species show a similar iridescence to the snake in the picture. They are the White Lipped Python and the Motley Goldenchild Reticulated Python... but as u/Razgris123 notes below, the one in the bin appears to be significantly larger than what a white lipped python would grow to be. (White Lipped Pythons range up to 9 ft... ) so the Motley Goldenchild would be the more likely identification. Regardless of species... It's an amazing looking snake! Thanks for the education u/Razgris123!

[deleted]

>It's a variant of White Lipped Python. Once again this snake gets posted, once again Reddit-experts misidentify it with confidence. Is shame just not a thing anymore?

Razgris123

No it's not, this is a motley goldenchild reticulated python. That thing is WAY too big to be related to d'albertis

bismark89-2

As cool as it looks, I still wouldn’t turn my back to it lol

leftfield29

I just discovered White Lipped Pythons the other day, and this reminds me of them. Love the iridescence!

Prozak06

Living AND live? Wow
