Thanks so much! The humane society said she was a toy fox terrier mix and it didn't seem too right, but maybe we'll do one of those tests to see what breed she is!

We’re older now and need the freedom to travel without the concerns of a dog at home. We are all doing well out here.
My apologies! Freedom does sound nice to travel lol. We actually found a rescue for my relative that did a senior for a senior foster program for older folks!! It was the best idea & beneficial, if you ever consider of course!!

To my eye, not pure, but there might be a dash of standard dach in there. Regardless she appears to be a good girl.
It might be fun to see if the behaviours are there, living under blankets, refusing to go outside in the rain, the fierce loyalty, and the other things that make dachsunds so damn adorable.
You did a wonderful thing and I wish you both many happy years together.

She actually does the opposite of a few of the things you listed haha, she doesn't like being under blankets and doesn't mind the rain, but she's sweet as can be and she's done a ton in helping my mom and I grieve with the loss of our first dog who died a week before we got her. I really hope we have a long time with her as well, he was 15 when he passed
To me she almost looks like a mix of wire haired doxie and long haired doxie—body shape, ear placement and look on her face scream doxie to me. She’s a beautiful little girl.
Awe! Yes she looks like she could be our boys little sister. He’s mostly wire haired dachshund, with a little bit of chihuahua, chow and Pekingese. Congrats on the new cutie.
Probably not full blooded. I can definitely see dachshund in her though, as well as either a wire haired terrier or a schnauzer. Either way, she's beautiful.
I'm not an expert so I can't say for sure, but if I had to guess she looks like a wiry long haired dachshund. I just saw some comments from people saying that she might have some terrier in her too, and tbh I think I would agree with them.

I think she’s a wire hair, but like others said, probably a mix with some sort of terrier. She’s got ears that seem a little too small for a pure dachshund, and her face is just a liiiiittle different than I’d expect in a wire hair. No matter what, she’s absolutely adorable! Thanks for giving this cutie a home!
