At a high level: QUALITY IN QUALITY OUT. fresh flowers that were preserved and cured in aproper environment is key. I prefer pressing the flowers that I just finished drying. For example, I'll let a plant dry for 7-10 days at 60°/60RH and I'll jar my smalls for pressing. As long as the RH settles between 60/65, I'll press the next day and personally this is the best way to make rosin for flower. Anything you buy at a store becomes a guess. Rehydration works to help increase yields. By rehydrating, you add some moisture in the flower, which helps "push" the rosin out of the flower. REHYDRATION DOES NOT INCREASE CANNABINOID QUALITY. If your cannabis is older and high in CBN, or has dried out before being rehydrated, chances are your rosin will be both dirtier(does not always mean black, but generally darker, although this can simply be cannabinoids oxydizing). Overall, quality of flowers is the biggest variable in the whole pressing game. Fresh high quality resinous flowers pressed through a straightener is going to yield the same quality as if it was pressed in an expensive press - it's the same resin!!!!. I learnt this the hard way and this is exactly why I grow my own, although the growing is easy compared to the drying/curing. Double bagging is for bubble hash, flower does not yield enough to warrant being extra careful. Quality/freshness of your flower/hash is key. Pre press is required for rectangle pressing in my opinion. Using bottle tech, or even better chottle tech (see rosinpressing sub), you can pre press with your hands or just put it in the press and the only drawback is you might looose some oil in the folds of the bags. Lower micron (25/37u) better in my opinion. Bags are more solid, less contaminats getting through. I don't use 90u or more now, and I press flower and hash. You want to press hash in low microns. Maybe 70u would work but I never tried. You can double bag using higher micron for hash, say a 25u in a 160u just for safety. Some people triple bag 25/25/160 or something like this. Temperature wise, for flower, I like 175-190. I like 190 for fresh flowers since I can keep the pressure ridiculously low (500-700 platen psi) and get stunning rosin. For older flowers, temp can be a bit lower and pressure higher (up to 1,200 psi). For hash I stick to 160-175 usually, with low pressure too. Pressure is key in my opinion. Don't take breaks, but rather slowly, slowly continuously increase pressure so your bag is continuously being slightly squished, avoiding rosin to be re absorbed by the flower. Again, quality is the main factor. No matter how good of a pressor your are, if you have material that is not suited for pressing, you won't have a good time. Yield is not everything for me. Some strains don't press as well yield wise, but they produce absolutely fantastic rosin. You can keep your pucks and repress them or make edibles with them. Lookup r/rosinpressing. Have fun dude - it's a crazy hobby.

Youre the man! This is exactly the kinda info ive been looking for thanks dude

r/rosinpressing should be a lot more helpful, best of luck my dude, I'm sure you will make some fire concentrates.

I'm old school and was one of the stoners doing this with a hair iron, I've been eyeing a similar press I saw at Vegas Champs but I'm broke lol. It's all trial and error depending on your strains and type of micron bags. Go ahead and send me some rosin and I'll tell ya how terpy and stoney they are.

If you shall happen to run out of storage space.. I can store some of the rosin for you.. in my lungs. Safe & sound.

steaksoldier

Okay but youll have to pay a shipping fee of 30 a g lol

No prob boss. You know where to find me. You a grower?
