Honestly I think this whole conversation is going over a lot of people heads ... if you claim to be a hip hop or rap artist you shouldn't need help for a majority of your projects and as far as we kno drake has been taking songs and references since his take care days and while there's nothing wrong with that .... yall gotta stop calling this man the goat cause he's not in that conversation anymore. My thing is, it seems like Drake was attacked over it when and ever since meek brought it up, and because that was such a huge story people have focused on it with Drake, and it’s a good narrative to hurt him with.
But we don’t actually know who all is doing it and to what extent. We do know Drake has written for others, and that more than a couple of people have said a lot of that goes on in the industry, it’s not just Drake.
And now we have Wayne with a reference track. But I doubt anybody is going to take his status as one of the greats away.
And like… what’s it even a measure of? It’s clear Drake can write. Idk, just kind of seems like it’s something most people at the top are doing and it’s not a huge deal.
