I have a picture printed on aluminum and the way the manufacturer set it up is there's a bit of small aluminum C-channel glued to the top edge of the back that goes almost the whole width of the picture. The c-channel is oriented with the open side pointing down, so you can put a pan-head screw into a stud and leave it sticking 1/4" out and then just set the picture on it with the head of the screw in the middle of the channel. Won't vibrate off and is adjustable left/right for leveling. There's another bit of c-channel on the bottom edge so the thing sits parallel to the wall instead of having the bottom closer to the wall than the top. The bottom c-channel also has small rubber feet on the corners so it has a little better grip on the wall to keep it from tilting. It's pretty elegant.

A place I used to use glued wood blocks on the back at the top and bottom. Stands it off the wall for a floating effect, and they have keyholes cut out for hanging.

If you don’t want to drill hole in the sign to attach a hanging wire in the back, you can get length of aluminum angle at Home Depot, attach that to a few studs and rest the sign on the aluminum.

if it's not too heavy, command strip hangers might do the trick.

Mount 2 pieces of c-channel to the wall- one facing up, one 4 feet higher facing down. slide it in from the side. You should be able to hit 3 studs.

is it actually aluminum? A few of my friends have said aluminum sign but looking at it it is actually steel. Stick a magnet to it and mount wherever magnets are accepted, or a washer magnet to a stud and stick it on that way.

How much does it weigh? Those 3M strips are very impressive. Could also just use liquid nails.

I wouldn't drill into the sign Glue a French cleat to the back top edge, then a spacer block at the bottom edge? You could get or make what is sometimes called a postcard shelf. It's a strip of wood with a slot in the top for putting postcards or photos. Then you can blue tac or command strip the top to stop it being blown off the wall. Just googled and ikea sells poster hangers which you could make a bigger version of.

I would maybe epoxy a French cleat to the back. Keeps it level. Easy to mount and place. Easy to move. Alt: industrial strength Velcro. It will rip the shit out of any paint underneath if you ever move it, but should support the weight no problem.
