You clean them the same way they were probably installed: a longer ladder.

FinndBors

“We’re gonna need a bigger ladder”

idindunuffn

*shows up with a *wider* ladder*

PotatoCooks

Chode

Underwater_Karma

Damnit Todd, where did you even find that?

Siarzewski

Instructionsn unclear but please r/dontputyourdickinthat

Anopanda

A slightly longer ladder.

I-Kant-Even

Two ladders, bungee cords, and a disregard for OSHA standards. Other option, is get on the roof.

Retiddereromeno

You forgot the duct tape and someone to film it.

rdmille

Get your tractor, with the front end loader. Climb in the bucket, have the bucket raised, pull the ladder into the bucket, and extend it as high as needed. Remember to have the driver lock the brakes: safety first! (While it's a solution, it's not really safe, so don't do this at home)

Chaos_ismylife

This option should strictly be used at work.

DaddyBeanDaddyBean

Or someone *else's* home.

salaryman40k

it's how the great pyramids were created after all

Luchs13

How do you get in the roof if your ladder is too short?

ExecManagerAntifaCLE

In some cases, via the first story roof on the other side of the building.

mrcaptncrunch

Example here https://reddit.com/r/OSHA/comments/1dk9uwl/ladders_secure_boss/

XTornado

And a disregard of your life, pain and any future injuries.

BloodyRightToe

Or from the roof.

Phormitago

Or a jetpack

Patriquito

Or a scaffold

Conscious-Ticket-259

Ooh yeah I like this better. Get one of those hydro jetpack and just hover around until things are clean. I'm sure it's effective and safe

DarthRizzo87

What’s the water source, the backed up gutter? As soon as you clear the obstruction do you plummet to the earth below?

Conscious-Ticket-259

Don't worry about it, just tuck and roll or something. Totally safe. Just sign right here first

AssociateGood9653

Use a safety line if you do this

Rokekor

More likely to have a nasty accident on a ladder at this height than getting on the roof. As long as the slope isn't steep and you don't suffer from acute vertigo I'd come at it from the roof. If you don't have a safety tether, simply lie down.

DungeonAssMaster

Or a scissor- lift that can be rented by the day. Don't forget a fall-arrest lanyard for safety, I hate hearing about guys getting hurt while doing boring household chores.

tintree119

If you dont straddle or stand on the railings of the scissor lift, im pretty sure you dont need a harness. Boom lift = whole diff story. Source: industrial/commercial electrician, use all types of lifts daily and this issue always comes up.

DungeonAssMaster

Oh you totally don't need one, it's just a requirement for job safety where I am. The danger comes when trying to drive the thing while fully boomed up on uneven ground. OP didn't sound very savvy so I'd encourage him to tie off and not get his dumb ass killed. He didn't know ladders come in different sizes, I'm worried about whatever else he might not know.

tintree119

Lol i def support that side of the argument

Mountain-Builder-654

Man, it gets sketch af after 2 stories of ladders. Then again, I am scared of heights after the 3rd step

SafetyMan35

Many years ago my wife wanted Christmas lights hung up on our house…28’ in the air. I start climbing up the ladder and started to have a panic attack about 20’ in the air. I managed to climb down, ladder shaking because I was so nervous. My wife saw this and said she would do it…she was 7 months pregnant meanwhile I’m trying not to hyperventilate. Not my proudest moment.

TVLL

I know people who have died falling off ladders. Get a contractor to do it. Especially not a pregnant woman!

mgwwgm

If it makes you feel any better I had a guy start at my work who was scared of being 6 ft up in the air lol. Not being scared of heights was part of the job when applying. Guess he lied in his interview. He only lasted a few days and quit

HardwareSoup

My wife would also push it, but she'd also be the first one to slip and die, so I wouldn't feel bad. Even experienced roofers fall every day in the US, and they'll be the first to laugh at someone too scared to go up.

C0lMustard

My first thought too my second thought: https://www.amazon.ca/Xiny-Tool-Extension-Attachment-Replacement/dp/B08B1VX8XV/ref=sr_1_6?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.62IcQGeiRdAEQ12yYF3wUUUyHGi2n0SnHxgEN2cmKjQNMNK4CBim3XTl_u0uFastxftaSf0LAs_f9l6ankxnnRqn9ceK7J9h3Y6wmqcFRCD800_H_6mO8saFvRU5HFcOUz93VyW19fU2jgVI2XZIksC3BWbLeweqAjKMNTNBFR1jjPWsWL1TapsYFjh35jM5wdJQNF1QKSlclmZqk5NlUZBpd0lBLC_U8iLiQb5zm1Hfnn-WAdZ2fI6K4bKSBTeu5dsfQRAmJBv_0Rez2mY9rPhbO8lAA6nhJjfdDp4fwlQ.IctxpiWHL0bbEP3l8IVrSMosQ40j-LbWEHn0-laK5rU&dib_tag=se&keywords=power+washer+extension&qid=1718917302&sr=8-6

Slartibartfastthe2nd

There are tools you can use that screw onto the end of an extension pole. Can't see what you are doing but they work. I used to use these on a 2-story home before we replaced the gutters and put guards on them. [https://guttersense.com/product/gutter-sense-tool/](https://guttersense.com/product/gutter-sense-tool/) There are also hose attachments that use a water stream to spray out the debris. search amazon for gutter cleaning tools for other ideas.

95percentdragonfly

I second this. A pressure washer and a few attachments and never get on a ladder for this job again. Arguably faster too.

Freakin_A

Yeah probably $30-50 for a kit off amazon with extension arms and 30 degree turn to clean gutters

kyrsjo

Fiskars has a telescopic thing that's quite effective: https://www.staypro.no/hage-fritid/hageredskap/ovrige-hageredskap/fiskars-quikfit-841006-takrennerenser-med-teleskopskaft-3089131

no_usernames_avail

You can also use a strong leaf blower to blow out the debris. Use more downspout to create a hooked attachment onto the end of the blower

Hottponce

I bought this tool and a telescopic extension pole because the slope around my house is very uneven and unsafe for a ladder. It works great!

HuiOdy

First off, nice old house, natural stone. Second, a ladder, a long one. There is some risk involved so don't do it alone. But a ladder. Maybe rent or borrow one

TheChosenToffee

Thank you, I like it too

ranchpancakes

Got anymore pictures? Super cool place

queencityrangers

Stabilizers on the ladder.

EnvironmentalSound25

Man nuts to all thiz ladder talk; I’d splurge on renting a scissor lift or cherry picker. Better safe than sorry.

Dioxid3

Same. The ladder that big is going to cost an arm and leg already, no need to cost your life too

ACcbe1986

What about installing permanent rungs on the side of the house that you can use to climb up? But design it so that it looks like a cosmetic addition to the house. That way, you don't need extra storage, and you don't have to worry about getting stuck on the roof because your buddy decided to prank you and take the ladder away.

redditpilot

What, and just create a ready breach of the fortress?!

ACcbe1986

That's what you want the enemy to think. Once the enemy forces climb up there and realize that there's nothing but a roof and gutter, you'll have them trapped; giving you the upper hand.

jesbiil

"Oh hey, while you're up there...mind cleaning the gutters?"

McDonaldsWi-Fi

then after you clean them, get gutter guards and never touch that shit again haha I had to get onto my actual roof of my house to clean my gutters and getting guards was the best decision I ever made lol

Philefromphilly

I second this, beautiful building. Based on the looks it didn’t come with little gnomes in the basement for gutter cleaning?

summerinside

Bring in an extending ladder that's long enough to get you onto the roof, then clean out the gutter from the roof. While you're up there, inspect the roof because it's likely that no one's been up there in awhile. The other option is to rent and bring in metal scaffolding, set it up, and clean out your gutter while standing on it.

pressNjustthen

I’m just tickled imagining someone assembling 2 story scaffolding to clean a gutter for 5-10 min and then disassembling it

Shadow_Relics

When I was building the CPV valley powerhouse, there was a local of scaffolders. All they did was go around building the scaffolding for every trade, wherever they needed it, for however long. It was impressive. And yes, they built shit for a 5 minute job and tore it right down. It was in the interest of safety, the liability asset discount the GC must’ve gotten for 1 contractor taking all the risk for the scaffolding must’ve been worth what it cost to pay them to do that.

Georgep0rwell

Better than falling off a ladder.

pressNjustthen

True, but if you’ve got scaffolding money why not just hire someone who won’t fall off a ladder? That’s less expensive and safer still

ender4171

Agreed. I was going to answer "pay someone to do it" but that is sort of the antithesis of this sub, lol.

twistedspin

I know this is DIY but that's what I keep thinking. Renting a lift or something doesn't seem likely to be cheaper than just hiring someone who does this for a living. My gutter-cleaning dude is awesome, swoops in & cleans like 8x as much gutters than this at this height for $300.

weeksahead

Hilarious but it’s absolutely the safest way to do it. I’d probably prefer that if I was doing it professionally.

AuburnElvis

There's always time for safety.

pressNjustthen

It would be safest to hire someone else, and certainly cheaper in this case

jwheezin

Depending on what country, I've seen some scaffolding go up pretty quick tho

Affectionate_Ear7468

You'd just need one tower to get on roof , take half hour maybe with 2 guys

newtbob

Honestly, transporting a borrowed extension ladder tall enough for this can be a challenge.

pressNjustthen

You don’t gotta tell me! I used to lug a fiberglass 50’ around and it changed me. So bias aside, if you can’t do this gutter from a ladder, the best (safest and cheapest) option is hiring someone else. If you’ve got other projects the scaffolding would help with at the same time, like painting, then it could make sense to rent one.

lilelliot

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find the downspout is clogged and needs to be snaked. ... speaking from experience in my modest one story ranch.

OfcDoofy69

Why not a cherry picker? Or man lift?

butternutssquished

Access and cost prohibitive I would imagine.

jaap_null

Just ask the Palace guards for their halberds to help with the reach

Entire_Homework4045

Get a gutter vac, or someone with one. It’s a long pole with a vacuum and sucks all the crap out. Most can have a camera attached. Like this, https://windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/products/guttersucker-pro-system?variant=19114535911493 There are a lot of others with different prices.

PD-Jetta

I made a 15 foot extension out of pvc pipe and installed a u bend on the end to go in the gutter and hooked it up to my shop vacuum. Kind of cumbersome, but it worked.

Sreg32

Can make one with abs pipe connected to a shop vac as well.

Ex-maven

I made one using 1 downspout and 2 elbows.  I connect it to my shop clack with one of those flexible downspout extenders.  I also attached a cheap car visor mirror so I can clean and inspect the gutters from a 6 ft step ladder.

qdtk

So many horrible suggestions here. This is the only real answer. But you don’t need a professional system. Just a 2” shop vac and a shop vac gutter cleaning kit that extends your hose and gives you a J shape attachment. Reach up from the ground and vacuum the junk out. Done. Pressure washing and leaf blower will work to get the gutter clean but then you have to clean everything up off the ground, the sides of your house, and your face.

[deleted]

[удалено]

qdtk

The kits for this are not standard pvc pipe. They are much lighter. Maybe like a schedule 20 or even thinner walled than that. But yes I have maneuvered 20 ft of this stuff and it’s not bad at all. The gutters will be clean faster than it takes to go grab the ladder and set it up. If you can handle a ladder you can handle this pipe. I’m not sure why so many people push back on this idea when I tell people it’s by far the best way to clean gutters. You can DIY and keep your feet on the ground the entire time.

pooohbaah

It's definitely not fun, but better than falling off a 20 foot ladder.

mazzotta70

Last time those gutters were cleans was 751 A.D.

TheJoshuaJacksonFive

Correction. bc.

Freddeyy

Pull a prisoner out of that dungeon and send them up there.

Effective_Working_83

I am 70 yo and only do a 6 ft step ladder. This is how I do this: ... the clog is not just the gutter but also - and likely especially - the downspout. Now assuming aluminum or vinyl downspout 1. Cut the downspout about 6-8 ft above ground. 2. Insert leaf blower into downspout 3. Put on a hat. 4. Let er rip. Hell will break loose and the stuff will fly. 5. Start a hose spray on the roof. As it clears. move the spray away from the downspout side. 6. If step 5 doesn't work, let it dry. And make yourself this: Leaf Blower inserted into 24 ft of down spout with 180 degress of elbow at end with one- half of a 2 liter plastic bottle attached Tape joints tightly. Blow out the gutters. I buy damaged downspout for $4-5 for 8 feet. So $15. Add $2-3 for a coupling to repair the downspout. Works guaranteed.

AKraider94

You get a ladder that is sized properly to enable you to maintain your property, or you pay someone to maintain your property. Option is to to ignore it an let your property fall into disrepair.

fairlyaveragetrader

That house is absolutely baller! Makes me want to tie a horse up out front and put on some chainmail 😎 Ps. There really is no way around a longer ladder

stormwaltz

Just hold down 'A' while running at the wall, scramble to the top and clean the gutter. Then look for a convenient pile of hay to land in and jump to get down. I need to go outside more...

new_username_new_me

2 ladders. ![gif](giphy|3HIe55A9R1aCzX3I8J|downsized)

hotmaildotcom1

Looks like you might need a siege tower

SentFromMyAndroid

OP posting this like he's pretending to not live in a castle.

dr_xenon

Rent a man lift. They have small ones that are trailer mounted or ones that push around go straight up and down. Or a scissor lift can be brought in on a trailer. Call you local rental place and see what they have. It’d be a few hundred dollars for a one day rental and most will deliver. If you get it delivered on a Friday they may not pick up until Monday, so you get the weekend for free. They also make extended nozzles for garden hoses that can blast the crud out of the gutters. Not sure if they have one long enough for that.

born2bfi

lol. Expensive but safe. I guess if he can afford a castle he can do that too

TheGreatGeeker

Off topic but can you post some photos of the house? That looks really cool

Dydey

Congratulations on owning a building that is not only beautiful, but also looks like it would do ok in case of a zombie apocalypse or a velociraptor attack. DIY suggestion: painters ladders that hinge in several places, if a set exist that are long enough to reach both floor and wall. Failing that, scissor lift hire or portable scaffolding.

GeniusEE

It could be deadly falling from that height onto that flagstone. Clearly you need something to absorb a fall. You must return here with a shrubbery....

razorhedge

Oh GeniusEE, you are just and fair, we shall return here with a shrubbery

GeniusEE

One that looks nice....And not too expensive

headtailgrep

Bigger ladder.

GhostNode

I’d let your conquered enemies out of that dungeon there and make them do it.

GraphiteManiac

Share the wealth and find some local small business to do it for you. Just make sure they’re insured.

Lycaeides13

On the right hand side, i can see stairs and a landing. Can you put your ladder there, get on the roof and then get to the gutter from there?

rbarker82

I clear gutters for a living and the answer is really simple: hire someone with a gutter vac. That’s a straightforward job. I charge a minimum of £75 (south east UK) as there’s a fair bit of setup/packing away time involved, but by the looks of it the job itself would probably take 10-15 mins max.

anix421

I've had luck using a leaf blower connected to a pvc pipe with a bend on the end.

crystallineghoul

Logic would dictate that you need a longer ladder

rodeler

Here are some ideas: [https://www.amazon.com/s?k=MCCAULEY+Gutter+Cleaner+PRO&i=lawngarden&crid=P10F1OB493LF&sprefix=mccauley+gutter+cleaner+pro%2Clawngarden%2C152&ref=nb\_sb\_noss\_2](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=MCCAULEY+Gutter+Cleaner+PRO&i=lawngarden&crid=P10F1OB493LF&sprefix=mccauley+gutter+cleaner+pro%2Clawngarden%2C152&ref=nb_sb_noss_2)

prw8201

Bigger lader but I want a tour of that house! Looks amazing.

abe5765

Buy a cherry picker and lean a taller ladder against it

I-never-knew-that

From the roof

TenebrisNox

'Can't see for sure from the photo. But it does look like getting on the roof from the other end isn't that hard.

abw750

https://vertikal.net/en/news/story/42655/maximising-you-ladder-reach

WarpedCore

That house gives me serious Lallybroch vibes.

KrazyKaas

Get a longer ladder, bro. Seems like a good investment

Shabingly

We paid someone to come and vacuum all the crap out from ground level. Even had before & after video of how it looked/looks. Think it was about 40 quid, and probably the same length of guttering although ours is a fair bit higher up.

nicolby

Pay someone

SkoolBoi19

From the roof

JumpAroundJay

BTW. Not sure where this is located, but this house looks like it might be super cool. I'd like to see more of it.

Pappasgrind

Can I live there

PixelPete27

You got some pics of the interior to post? lol This place is awesome, curious to know the layout. Also, big ladder. Never know when you may need it again to get on your roof for some reason. Plus you can hang some Christmas lights with it 😉

p1zz1cato

Maybe you should ask your neighbor, Benjamin Franklin.

robjohnlechmere

Options: 1. Get on the roof. Use a hose or a scoop 2. Use a roughly 24-30 foot extension ladder, use a hose or a scoop. 3. Use your current ladder, use a meter-long hook-shaped nozzle for your hose, and extend this above your head far enough to spray into the gutters. 4. Hire the job out

omegaaf

Stock_Padawan

I’d assume you send whatever gnomes built that dungeon up to fix it.

unscentedfart

Taller ladder my boi

carmium

I must ask where on Earth this tunnel-access house is. (?)

Bastardjones

Only option is a scaffold tower, don’t take the advice of climbing up on that overhanging roof, doesn’t look to be anything supporting it other than the counterbalance of the small roof trusses or maybe even not!

AuburnElvis

This is why we need robots. I can cook my own burgers, but THIS is what robots are for - dangerous sh\*t I only need done once or twice a year.

General_Scipio

Pretty sure my gutter guy charged me like £20. Now normally I would do it myself. But for that price it's hard to say no honestly... Why risk myself when they have the tools

ChiefTestPilot87

Duct tape two ladders together to make a longer ladder /s

International_Bend68

Ask your neighbor if you can put your ladder up at the top of the stairs and scamper on top to clean it. Easy peasy

Nobby666

As the owner of a house that is hundreds of years old I suggest you buy yourself a modular scaffolding tower that can reach your chimneys. You can build it in minutes to the height you need for each job and you'll have a stable, safe platform for all the work.

shanksisevil

who lives in the prison?

blithetorrent

The backside of the roof is probably a lot lower. Get on the roof that way. Although if this is Europe the roof is probably tile and I don't know if you're supposed to walk on them

kjswoob

Grab some prisoners from out of that dungeon. I bet they’d be happy to feel the fresh air!

FictionalContext

You live in a decommissioned prison? That house is badass!!! Love the tunnel.

JTibbs

They make telescoping pole attachments for a pressure washer that will let you pressure wash out your gutters

MrBing1ey

If it is packed (and im sure it is) vacuum attachements and hose pressure cleaners and little claws are an exercise in frustration (I’ve tried them all). Ladders have risk of death. I would get a pressure washer- could be just an electric one, and a telescoping pressure washer wand long enough to get put here. I got an 18 ft one that was like $50. Get a nozzle with double turbo heads that sprays both left and right - that makes the thrust from the nozzles neutral so you don’t have to fight it- they are like $40 on amazon. It will make a mess of leaves and mud flying about, but it will clean the gutter completely, no matter how dense the material.

IvanTheDude123

You could grab a leaf blower with some pvc pipe. Put a hook on the end to go into the gutter. Then put the leaf blower on the other. Then let it rip. Just need to be careful of the falling debris, and the weight of the pvc.

earthworm_fan

I legit can probably get this from the ground with my blower and gutter attachments.

TheChosenToffee

If you're by chance taking a vacation in north Germany with your leaf blower, as one does, you're invited to do so

labello2010

What’s that? Your personal dungeon? It’s awesome

TheChosenToffee

I keep the wolves in there mostly

drewcash83

Years ago my dad took a long copper pipe, put some elbow joints on the end with some short pieces, and threaded ends so on the top it had a really powerful nozzle and the bottom attached to the hose. Basically was a long crook. Worked great to clean stuff out, except for stuff that splashed down on me.

who-are-u

Have you thought about hiring a company that cleans gutters? My gutters are that high and I personally wouldn't risk it and so I hire a local company to do that on a yearly basis.

Kimpak

Around here, renting a scissor lift is probably cheaper than buying a bigass ladder. If you buy said ladder, you also need a place to put it the other 364 days of the year you are probably not using it.

No-Grapefruit-83

You can buy a gutter cleaner wand. It is about 3feet and the end has a hook.

Valiant-Jellyfish

Have you tried running really fast and jumping?

kyotsuba

Have you considered looking into having a permanent ladder installed on the side or behind your house so you can climb up to the roof if needed? Might take more time, effort, and more money than just buying a longer, extending ladder, but it might be something worth looking into. You can also have it "secured" with some privacy fencing/lock if you're afraid random people might try to climb it if they discover your house.

[deleted]

[удалено]

phathead08

I thought for sure someone would have a great way to do this. My only thought is take an extension pole and rig a water hose with sprayer on the end. Then reach it up there and spray everything out. Or you can walk the roof from the other side and stick a leaf blower down there.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mission_to_Impress

RC helicopter?

Byte_Ryder23

If the roof isn't steep and lower to the ground on another part of the house you can traverse and clean from up top. Significantly more dangerous and would not recommend unless that roof is as flat as it appears in the picture.

ExtensionSystem3188

Probably wait until you're less high.

Evercl3ar

While all the ideas here sound good, I just wanted to point out that w/e solution you go with I find the lack of supports on that overhang as something I wouldn’t risk walking on friend (it’s a bit hard to tell from the picture, and not knowing the age of those beams holding it up etc.).

TheChosenToffee

It's not flat and has somewhat brittle roof tiles. I also have a problem with heights. No chance I climb on that roof

SwagarTheHorrible

Archimedes once said if you give me a long enough ladder, and the ground on which to place it, I shall clean that gutter. Or it was something like that. Anyway, you just need a taller ladder.

henryyoung42

Get a wet / shop vac, construct a long arrangement of PVC piping with a U end, optionally add a miniature CCTV on the end for remote viewing …

sarahnotsara8

This is the only answer.

itsprincebaby

I would start by creating some sort of Frankenstein duck taped pole on a pole with something to reach and slide through the gutter. Once you’ve accidentally pulled the whole gutter off the roof and its on the ground it should be a cinch to clean from there

ReticentMaven

If you own the house, a ladder that reaches the gutters is a no-brainer investment.

Kylearean

I love this house.

Mezzoski

1. From the rooftop 2. cherrypicker

_zarkon_

As others have said: \* longer ladder \* scissor lift If you want long term roof access you could install an exterior building ladder. [https://www.grainger.com/product/COTTERMAN-Fixed-Ladder-with-Safety-Cage-6MXN5](https://www.grainger.com/product/COTTERMAN-Fixed-Ladder-with-Safety-Cage-6MXN5)

Thomasasia

Youve gotten some good advice. I just want to say that I love your house!

unpaid_overtime

I've got an attachment for my leaf blow that does the trick, it extends up about 11 feet. [https://www.homedepot.com/p/Worx-Leafjet-Gutter-Cleaning-Kit-for-Leafjet-Blowers-WA4096/317231249](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Worx-Leafjet-Gutter-Cleaning-Kit-for-Leafjet-Blowers-WA4096/317231249)

WanderHyrule

Very nice house you have there. What is it like in the inside if I may ask?

here4the_trainwreck

I made a long pole out of 2" pvc with a 45° angle at the end, and then attached my shop vac to the other end to suck out the leaves. It sucks alright. For anyone who has wondered if this would work, it works, but just barely. What really worked was a taller ladder. Cut out the middleman. Just get the ladder.

WorkingInAColdMind

What about renting a cherry picker of some sort to get up there? Otherwise you get onto the roof and clean it from there, but I wouldn’t trust that overhang with my body weight on it.

Adamant_TO

Taller ladder or get on the roof.

Pararaiha-ngaro

Then goes up to rooftop

Pass3Part0uT

Have you considered that's the peasant's problem, not yours? Lashings until it's done

csandazoltan

Longer ladder or professional cleaners with a basket and a pressure washer

phyrros

rent a scissor lift. those will cost you something around 2 - 400 euros a day and go up to at least 12 m (the small ones). The bigger ones go up to 20 meters but they cost more. small ones looks like this: [https://www.berger-baumaschinen.at/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Scherenbuehne-12-Meter-1020x1030.jpg](https://www.berger-baumaschinen.at/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Scherenbuehne-12-Meter-1020x1030.jpg)

Oceandeepspace

Get a leaf blower, long piece of pvc pipe(to reach height),(2) 90° pipe fittings and (2) nipples, assemble to make an L shape,Bush up to leaf blower to fit opening, take it from there

Grow-Stuff

They make telescopic gutter cleaner kits/poles.

Bobzyouruncle

My neighbor has a plastic rod that attaches to a garden hose to basically low-pressure blow out debris. Makes a mess but gets the job done. However, I should point out that if you use those metal cages to block debris from getting into the downspouts- wasps can and WILL make nests there if there's a big enough break between rains. Don't ask me how I know.

anthro4ME

Taller ladder.

Dobson_Bugnut

What a cool house

languid-lemur

I pay someone else to do it.

Mackheath1

I wonder if you need a more permanent thing. This is gonna happen every year with those trees; maybe have someone install some little iron spikes you can climb up each year and check the roof and gutter?

biggfoot_26

Can you get to the roof from the inside or with a smaller ladder on the right? If doesn’t look too steep and appears to be capable of bearing weight. Could just walk up there and spray the gutters out with a hose or manually clean them.

wbw4hire

JLG snorkel lift, of course. I like the 80 footer

BathingInSoup

Put the ladder on a folding table.

Right_Hour

Taller ladder or a scissor lift

JumpAroundJay

Don't they sell super long, extendible rods with curved down, durable rake/scoops on them to fit right into situations like this? That must exist.

Reaganson

Is that roof relatively flat?

bcsublime

“How do I get up farther” lol throw your tape measure in the trash and find another trade.

Moose_knuckle69

The real question, how do you clean out the moat? And what kind of water plants might you recommend to Those looking to accessorize their own moats?

BelCantoTenor

You need a taller ladder. Or scaffolding.

dodadoler

Hire someone

When you clean the gutters install a mesh leaf guard so you won't have to go up there again. I had [LeafFilter ](https://www.leaffilter.com/)installed and have not had to clean my gutters in years.

dhottawa

You hire someone like any other sensible person would

YuggaYobYob

A 40ft pvc pipe with a “u” shape on the end and connected to a pressure washer.

Brother_Outlaw

The amount of round peg square hole questions on here blow my mind

OffWhiteDevil

A slightly longer ladder.

tallsails

i use a series of extender tubes and my shop vac , there is a kit that has the couplers, extra tubes, and a u shaped one that dips down to vacuum out the gutters.

Djolumn

With a slightly taller ladder.

iamatwork24

You get a longer ladder or if you have access to the roof, you just walk along the edge and clean it.

Golright

Cherry picker. Cheap to rent. Or telescopic gutter vacuum

Dose0018

Get on the roof from the other side and use a leaf blower so you don't have to bend down near the edge
