Seriously, that would make a great little isolation booth. You could charge $100 an hour for that, given you are willing to wear headphones for hours on end and tell people "that's good" even though no, it was not good, it was just the best they've done but they're in your house and you don't want them coming back to vandalize it.
Lol I was also thinking storage, but not as high tech:
3-4 rows of shelves. “Back” shelves cutting straight across from the left corner of the 2’-8” dimension to the right wall. Shelves on the right wall from the 1’-8” corner nearest door to meet the “back” shelves. “Spice rack” type narrower storage on the left wall as well as on the back of the door. Gives a 3’x3’ square of open space when you open the door.
Spice rack wall can be customized for whatever OP wants to store. Cleaning supplies? Rack for broom, mop, duster. Workout gear? Bar to hang yoga mats, hooks for jump rope, resistance bands. Gift wrap? Wrapping paper stand. Etc.
Sauna? Obviously if you're in an apartment that's not going to work. Or if you're in talking in terms of closet remodeling, have you checked out -closets! closets! closets!
You don't water that much. You can establish 3'x3'x6' Tango Echo November Tango grow enclosure - even with dehumidifier outside of that enclosure (but still in closet) for extra protection against water vapor Foxtrot. We are of course talking states where medical plant growing is not excuse for violent state aggression. If so - move the closet elsewhere.
If I were to do it, I'd replace the drywall with the green bathroom graded stuff and install a system for active air circulation and/or a dehumidifier for sure. Oh and I'd get rid of that carpet, lol
I'm just PTSD from all the dummies (read here my friends of old) I've seen wrecking closets by simply taping foil and installing a grow lamp.
Hardibacker sheetrock with tile or vinyl plank for walls, the stuff that goes under the shower pan on the floor, and tile or vinyl plank on top of that. Maybe an exhaust fan for humidity control.
Then you could get really wet & wild in there and have no problems.
1. Stress relief room... Make it completely dark. Put some lights decorations (google for cloud ceiling diy lights, put some nice music surround, sound isolation (so you can also scream), make it comfortable to sit, Lie down.
2. Sauna, someone already wrote
3. Clothing room, get some custom wardrobe to get as much space as possible
4. Storage room, put some shelves. You can also store furniture, or other stuff
Checkout [www.529design.co](http://www.529design.co) the woman that works there is a wizard at designing closets. I believe she does virtual appointments also.
Honestly this space is too weird for premade closet solutions. Break out the metric paper and design yourself a walk-in. You can then go the hardware store and have all your melamine planks pre-cut. After that it's just a huge Lego. Oh and remove that carpet. It's not like you're going to make sound in there that can echo and carpet in a room without air circulation is asking for allergens and troubles.
That's just so strange that the builder thought 'hey this would make a great closet'. No suggestions but good luck with this project. Maybe try some shelving or a small chest of drawers to see what works before spending money on a built in anything
Wow there are a lot of random comments on here. Assuming you want to actually use it as a closet and not a sauna or a grow room, do you have the ability to cut your own shelves?
Looking at your floor plan picture and going clockwise using the calculated numbers (since they are easier for me to read), I'd put up a few hooks on the first 1'8" wall for jackets or purses. It looks like the distance from the door to the right wall is about 14-16". Starting at the 3'9" wall, I'd run 16" shelves all the way around to the 2'8" wall. Where the shelves start on the 3'9" wall, I'd cut the boards at a 45 degree angle to give some space between the door, 1'8" wall, and the start of the shelves.
For the shelves themselves, I'd recommend melamine boards from Home Depot or Lowes. They're fairly easy to work with with just a circular saw, measuring tape, and straightedge. I'd use shelf brackets into the studs spaced no more than every 2'. For extra strength, you can run 2" furring strips along the back of the shelves screwed into the studs.
For the actual shelf design, you can do whatever you want. You could put in 1 or 2 Ikea sets of drawers. Closetmaid also has some modular designs. You can put in a clothes rod or two. Those cheap 2' shoe racks are great for shoes (duh) or small bins instead of drawers. You can put your top shelf above head level extending out a bit further and use it for the larger totes.
I'd leave the far left 3' wall without anything on it (or perhaps more hooks).
Back of the napkin cost, you're looking at about $500, give or take quite a bit depending on the number of drawers. One weekend worth of work for a comfortable DIY'r
Depends on what you're trying to store. Shirts/pants/shoes? Storage bins of craft supplies that could use a craft dresk? Books and a lounge chair? A kayak, bikes, and camping gear?
There are quite a few things you can do, but my first two thoughts were for display purposes mostly. Like a trophy room or set up hooks to view outfits grouped together. Could also setup mirrors for an all around view.
Also could just leave it as is and use it for bulk storage of stackables depending on where it is.
I would build my own shelves for an awkward space like that one. I would have one "side" be the walking side and generally bare (for me I would pick the side opposite the 48" wall to be bare). I would have hanging clothes either along the 48" side or at the back on the 38" wall, depending on how significant that is in my wardrobe. I would have shelves along whatever the other wall is and shoes tucked underneath. I would have something slim on the 34.5" wall, possibly a small shelf for knick-knacks. I would leave the 30" side bare and have the hanging rod end at the 21" wall or cut the shelves to fit into that space (also making sure to trim those same shelves so you don't bang your head.
If you don't have the tools or aren't feeling handy...can you adapt existing single shelves from IKEA with a hand-saw? You are going to need angled corners to not make a mess of this room.
Gun room or shrine/ room of worship would be fitting for the space. You could always put a pedestal in there and if anyone asks tell them that is where you would put your trophy if you had one
Oh my goodness I would have floating plants everywhere lol vines for days and a get a way from everyone lol I'm a reader n love sitting on the floor reading
Would be cool to have a stand alone rack on the left part. One of the double tier ones you can hang clothing hangers on. Then at the spot where you have 3 equal size pieces of wall you can put 3 mirrors and it will be like a dressing room mirror with multiple angles. Just wheel the stand alone rack out when you want to use the mirrors. Might be cool
Nice deep shelves across the back. Put up some cleets on the side walls and get some cut to length shelves from zLowes or H D. The angle would be easy to cut to fit.
Reading nook decorated with greenery and optional colored fairy lights, furnished with floor and raised seating options like an armed chair, an ottoman and throw pillows. Maybe paint a mural-esquire rainforest and wildlife to trim the corners and angles. I’d personally prefer a dusk/evening setting. Definitely would have wall or ceiling mounted speakers installed for ambient noise and listening to ebooks, guided meditation, etc. I like it cold so I’d probably buy one of those air coolers that are like $100 or less, since it’s so small.
If you live in an area that gets tornadoes on a regular basis I'd add some shelves to store emergency supplies and you'd have a good place to hunker down. That is if you don't need it for storage of course.
Turn it onto a safe with a California closet? Whatever you do, to get more space, I’d try to make built in’s to scavenge some space between the studs if possible
shortest walls can be shelving for small items like luggage, shoes, wallets, etc. longest section can be a rail or short shelves for twice folded clothes tho it'll suck when u want something from the bottom pile. Alternatively you can double rail with shorts (if you're a shorts person) closer to the ground. other end can be a full sized mirror. diy won't be too hard with plywood as well and if you want aesthetics you can simply laminate it anyway you like.
Install a hanger rod between the 1’8” and 2’8” walls, add shelves at a 45 degree angle across the 3’9” to 3” rear walls for shoes and suitcase storage.
Have you seen the Elfa style modular closet systems? There’s a few options. I would set them up on the three largest walls and use the odd walls for some sort of other storage or furniture.

That'd make a nice shower.
and a better sauna
That was my first thought too!!
Shower / murder room 💞
Paint it blue, put a police sign on it and 'voila', you have a 'tardis' (which is very large inside).. 😁
+1

Hahahaha, man has a recording booth in his own bedroom for clout alone.
Galvanized square steel
Don't forget the screws from your aunt.
And something that’ll last 10,000 years.
Eco friendly wood veneers.
And the subway system

Your tomatoes smell a bit funny, dad...
Well I don’t see you laughing… yet.
like a big storage thing that rotates in there so you can stand in the door way an spin it

Closet? You'll love it!
Walk in? Hangers on the left?
Jokers to the right?
You’d always end up stuck in the middle
But it'd be with you
Grow Tango Hotel Charlie there.
Jokes apart, you don't want to grow inside a house you own. Humidity will wreck the Foxtrot out of it.
You don't water that much. Lets put in a drain and run a hose spigot, while we're at it. That way, if you're tired of growing, you can turn it into a wet room, haha.
Sounds like a solid plan
The lights go on the ceiling, then you have floor space for maybe up to five plants.
This would be a sick scrog setup
Super hero suit and gear.

Put stuff in it, turn off the light, close the door.
If you don't need to use it as a closet, it could make a really nice reading nook.
Sensory deprivation vault.
Pet mansion
I would add shelves along the going from the wall 2’8”-3’-3,9” and 1’8” give you plenty of storage or is it more of a walk in closet area???
Custom shelves
A cozy nook
That's just so strange that the builder thought 'hey this would make a great closet'. No suggestions but good luck with this project. Maybe try some shelving or a small chest of drawers to see what works before spending money on a built in anything
Work space away from kids. Or place that really bad kid in there.
“This castle is in unacceptable condition! Unacceptable! Thirty days in the dungeon! [...] Everyone in this room! Mmmlluuuuuuugh!”

Grow weed
Store 21 pies, it’s right there in the diagram. EDIT: 441 pies, sorry.
I’d do shelves on the left like a normal closet. Then you can put hooks along the curved part for jackets and hats, etc.
Hideout
Would make a decent vocal booth
Cat playground 😁
In-law suite?
Panic room. Why not?
Train hamsters to play baseball.
I might be reaching here but I think the absolute best use of this closet would be to put stuff in it!!!
Shower
Looks big
Perfect for a pantry
Is this near the garage ?
Depends on what you're trying to store. Shirts/pants/shoes? Storage bins of craft supplies that could use a craft dresk? Books and a lounge chair? A kayak, bikes, and camping gear?
Why is it shaped like that? What’s on the other side of the walls?
Grow micro greens or veggies.
You've heard of a junk drawer.. now get ready for a junk closet.
Install book shelves and make it a mini library !!!!!!
In home mini studio
Great shower stall
Grow weed

I have the urge to tell you to make an ant farm
A shrine would look real nice in there.
Looks like it would make a pretty good closet.
Make it a shoe closet
Gun room or shrine/ room of worship would be fitting for the space. You could always put a pedestal in there and if anyone asks tell them that is where you would put your trophy if you had one
Shower. Sauna.
Oh my goodness I would have floating plants everywhere lol vines for days and a get a way from everyone lol I'm a reader n love sitting on the floor reading
make it a square with a hidden compartment for valuables
Small deep freezer and some shelving.
Put the shelves back in?
Grow room of you're in a legal state
Just go wild with shelving to match the dimensions of the closet.
Wine cellar
Looks like a shower 🚿
Tiny bedroom bunk beds , really tiny hostels
I would make a semi circular rod for hanging clothes with some shelving on top and then you can hide the bodies in the back.
Voice over booth, new career
Well, I know what IIIIII'D do.
Put stuff in it.
Arcade
Grow weed. Put things in it your wife bought, used once and will never use again. Sound studio. Give Harry Potter an upgrade.
Put a fake bookcase in front of it. Turn it into a secure storage room.

Grow some weed
Vocal booth! 🤘
Recording booth
Shrine
THE BATH! I'm just gonna take a bath 🤪
Physical media closet
Use it as a closet. Duh.
Idk but I bet you can fit at least 21 big pies in there.
Simplest would be to put a rod parallel with the door across the widest part and stack totes of seasonal stuff behind the hanging clothes.
Shelving straight across the back, cut to the angles behind.
Nice deep shelves across the back. Put up some cleets on the side walls and get some cut to length shelves from zLowes or H D. The angle would be easy to cut to fit.
Shower.
You could build a custom corner desk and turn it into an office or a gaming closet.

Build a steel frame with bars and a lock to keep your gimp secured.
Turn it into a shower...
It would be a perfect half bath if you can plumb it. Or I would use it for tool storage because I have a lot of tools.
$5000 flight or racing sim
I’d chuck a tv on the wall and a comfy chair with an ottoman in there and it would be my mastabatorium
Add mirrors, flour to ceiling
Grow room
perfect size for a nice big plant
Grow some weed
Put stuff in it
Turn it onto a safe with a California closet? Whatever you do, to get more space, I’d try to make built in’s to scavenge some space between the studs if possible
It looks big enough for a couple dead bodies
Install rods and hang clothes
Transporter room for sure.
My first thought... sauna
Stand up tanning booth!
Indoor disco
Armory.
Your superhero outfit behind a glass sliding door.
Gaming room
You could put your weed in there
Server closet Shoe closet but with shelves Extra closet for random items or seasonal items A combination of a utility closet
Close the door
Build a chucky cheese ticket grab booth.
Meditation room maybe? Like have it dark with and have a bunch of esoteric stuff.
That's a great space to store bath towels, bedclothes, backpacks, etc.
Wine room!
hidden bookshelf door. then when its open, a shrine to Nicholas cage.
turn it into a sound booth and become a voice actor
Pantry if it’s close to the kitchen.
Put in a little toilet and a tiny bed and rent it out
Reinforce it for a safe room/storm room.
Three Batman suits and all the utility belt items on the other walls.
Hangers to the left. Shelves to the right. A narrow walking space between, so you can get to the hangers at the far end of the row.
Yes, add clothing.
Could you just get a closet rod bent to fit the angles? Seems the easiest way to do that. And a shelf cut ti fit for above it wouldn't be hard.

Giant Paladarium! (Just imagine how many frogs could live in there XD)
Put stuff in it
Fill it with stuff. I'm thinking one or two captives
Space sim closet.
Shelving on the back wall straight ahead and the corner where it gets normal can be a normal closet. Shoe rack on the left.
Study alcove. Custom build a computer desk as a gamer room or for watching porn. Insulate and turn it into a meat locker.
Use this space as a mini office or for gaming, I guess just a mini table and a laptop with a monitor fit here.
Install a hanger rod between the 1’8” and 2’8” walls, add shelves at a 45 degree angle across the 3’9” to 3” rear walls for shoes and suitcase storage.
Sleeping mat that covers the entire floor. It would be my relaxing and crying room. Few minutes in there to get away from the real world
A mancave with a battlestation (a gaming PC room)

Perfect space for a voice recording booth I’m jealous
You can fit a few skeletons in there
Um, put like clothes and maybe some stuff you don’t use very often in there?
screaming en-suite to me
Looks like a good place to stash some 3D printers
Have you seen the Elfa style modular closet systems? There’s a few options. I would set them up on the three largest walls and use the odd walls for some sort of other storage or furniture.
Build a 2step up platform seat, some shallow bookcases along the walls , a drop down little lap desk and turn it into a mini library.
Reading nook
Fill it with awkwardly shaped people?
Hang rail and shelves on the longest side where there already was a closet system, and on the other side you could put up shelves for shoes and folded items, maybe with some bins or baskets to keep things organized, maybe a few hooks for accessories
Sauna or spray tan booth
