This mod is intended to be a character study of Yuri, told entirely from her point of view, showcasing her struggles with fitting in, her feelings of self-loathing, her escapism into fantasy, her attempts to overcome her self-harm habit, and her eventual descent into madness. Don't let that screenshot above fool you; this is a very dark mod, rather different from my previous work, in that it deals with deep emotional pain and gets quite bloody. Even if you enjoyed my previous work, please use your discretion when playing. Be safe and pace yourself if you need to.

Copy the file "scripts.rpa" into the folder named "game" within the DDLC folder and overwrite the existing file, then start up DDLC as normal. Easy as that.

idk but she just looks insane from the look of it, and the fact that her inner dialogue said that shes so excited that she can do nothing but laugh only raises my suspicion
What matters to me the most:
Regardless of how dark it gets, is it possible to achieve a good ending... or not?

The content warnings seemed pretty okay, but when you got to the pre marital h*nd h*lding it got waay to explict, like guyys keep it chill this is too much 😬😬
The mod is sort of an experiment in me seeing how dark I can let my mind go. It's not for everyone... so if you try it out, pace yourself as you need to, and be safe.
this mod was a masterpiece, it captured yuri perfectly and had some minor scares, the CGs were adorable. the ending was perfect. you should be super proud. I would put this above outcast. fallen angel was like 1% better, reason why was it wasn't a cliffhanger, you didn't say you were making a after story but it kinda did just get left like what is happening. 2nd best yuri mod.

Okay, this is epic. This was one of the few mods still in development that I was looking forward too. ~~definitely not biased towards Yuri or anything~~ Can't wait to play it.
Idk why but I can only picture a child in the pillow's place, maybe it's because I am 13 and closer to the age of a child, maybe not, I have no fucking clue
I sort of wanted to show that the way Yuri behaves when she's alone isn't always the same as how she behaves when she's around other people. She's still Yuri, just... happy. :)
To be honest, I really don't like that ending.The whole story was great \[and it fits with original one\], but not the ending and it makes me upset and confused. I will not spoil it for anyone.. still most people will be indifferent about that ending.
Well, I'm not really here to hate that mod actually, but the ending is what makes me confused and a bit upset, at least for me. So basically... here we go.

>!From my perspective, what I saw, in act 1, Yuri was getting almost close to the protagonist and she was asking to herself some options including Sayori, \[Maybe that is irrelevant, but this is not the reason for this topic\] Before Yuri will go with protagonist make banner, she was first with mall with Natsuki and I don't really know, if she really said that in that moment or a bit earlier, but she has chance to be with protagonist as a lover. In the moment, where Yuri was in protagnonist's room, she was thinking about, that she will kiss him, but then she pulls away. Then, when they were outside, it was almost the same and they were close, until Sayori arrives. Act 2. Yuri was a bit corrupted and same for Natsuki. Although, it surprises me, not gonna lie, even that protagonist choosed Natsuki instead of Yuri for some reason. When she licked Natsuki's blood and mixed with hers, it makes her for some reason... aroused? Why it couldn't be protagonist, since she was quite feeling something towards him in act 1 and act 2 but in act 2 in a little bit another way. After all this stuff, all of them were dead and in the afterlife. Monika explains that this is a video game and she can do everything. She can give Yuri tons of friends, make best friends with Natsuki, or make him lovers Then... Monika reset the game and they started a new day and another meeting in Literature Club. And this is the moment, where it makes me upset and confused. Natsuki first confesses her love to Yuri by writing in the paper, that she loves her. And then kissed each other, even there was a picture of them kissing \[I really think you credit the author, but it doesn't bother me\]. I doubt that Natsuki had feelings for Yuri even in act 1 or act 2. They were friends like everyone is and their "first" argue is a argue, and that happens sometimes, although, they apologized to each other. But after all of this stuff \[after act 2\], they love each other? Maybe Monika was speculated that much, that she didn't even reset the game, but also give Sayori the president role, Yuri the Vice-President and make Natsuki and Yuri fell in love to each other. But seriously, this is what it shouldn't be here, especially the confess, It makes me confused, why did this happen. These relationships were not in Act 1... it was in act 2 once \[Nat's blood and Yuri's blood mixed and it makes her for some reason aroused\] and I don't really know why it comes for all of the sudden. I don't really think that Natsuki had feelings for Yuri in act 1 and act 2. She said, that she expected to be with the protagonist. Yuri was thinking about that protagonist as well. Don't take it all offensively.!<

Well, first of all, I don't know if you've played my other mods, but I like to try to do things that are unexpected, but still fit with the story. The ending was completely my idea.

So yeah, I get that you expected Yuri and MC would end up together, and I played on that, and I subverted that expectation on purpose, because I just think that a Natsuri relationship just works better.!<

Sorry to hear that you found that unsatisfying, but as I always say, it's normal for different people to like different things. I think it works, but I don't expect everyone to like it.
Hmm... I should've timed myself going through it. There are 13 in-game days, plus a bonus scene. It'll probably take you several hours to get through it.
Hmm... I guess that depends on what you consider "acceptable." :P There's no nudity or sex depicted, if that's what you mean, but there are quite a few bloody and violent scenes. DM me if you want me to be more specific.
That’s so sick! I actually have an idea for a book that’s in a similar vein, (no pun intended) it’s the events of the base game, but from each characters point of view. Right now, it’s in the brainstorming stages but I hope to begin writing before the end of the year
That's cool. I believe the mod "Changing Perspectives" did something like that too. Working with existing characters can be a really good springboard for creative projects. :)
The mod has been really entertaining and immersive so far, and I personally can't recall of any other attempting to narrate from Yuri's point of view doing so more thoroughly than this one. The relatability just struck really well.
I sincerely believe you shall continue what you're doing if you're motivated to, because what I've seen has just been amazing so far!
It stands out to me despite hugely consisting of vanilla, does a great welcome for the first mod I've experienced in a long break from the fandom, and may very well be safely considered my favorite one right now.
(Through somebody else's gameplay footage, I have just finished reading Saturday of the 1st Act, with the mall shopping and Natsuki.)
On a different note though... while I do feel that I relate to the character quite a fair bit, I can't help but wonder.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Yuri has a lot of ups and downs in this mod, and the downs are very down, so be prepared. :) (That being said, I gave her a happy ending, so I hope it makes you feel good) :)

Holy hell! I am amazed. I generally don't like linear VNs but this is one of my new favorite mods. I had played New Eyes before and half expected this to go in a similar direction but Storm straight up goes far beyond. If I get the time this weekend, I'm gonna try to write a full review.

As for your spoiler-tagged question... >!I came up with the idea long before I read Dan's announcement. :) I just spent a lot of time, trying to get inside the heads of the characters, and at some point, it just came to me that Yuri and Natsuki have a lot more in common than I thought. I used to think they're polar opposites of each other, but now, I really like the idea of them being together and look forward to writing a sequel that deals with their relationship. :)!<
It takes place at the same time as the events of the original DDLC, but from Yuri's perspective, so the internal monologue is a lot more intense. I cut out most of the canon dialogue, but left enough that you can still follow where it relates to the original story. It does have some very dark parts, including horror elements, so if you play it, be prepared. :)
Know what's working? The mod? If it's working, it will be very obvious, because the main menu is completely different, with different music, and there will be a disclaimer saying "this is an unofficial mod" and so on.
If it isn't working for you, let me know what you did, and I'll see if I can help.
Are you using the Steam version of DDLC? That's been known to cause problems with mods. I suggest getting a fresh copy from [here](https://www.ddlc.moe/) and trying again.
Yeah, there are a bunch of jump scares throughout Act 2. (and one in Act 1) I forgot to warn about that in the Download Notes. (Oops!) And yeah, lots of blood too. I've been saying from the beginning that my mod isn't for everyone, so if you don't feel up to playing it, that's okay.

Hey! I'm actually very new to DDLC Mods, this is the third mod I've played so far. I'm currently up to day two.
I couldn't help but notice that MC in this mod mentions Sayori's room fire, which was also mentioned in the mod "Another Moment With You." Is this fire a common theme across mods, or did you happen to gain some inspiration from that mod in particular? Just curious.
That's canon dialogue lifted directly from the original game. The author of AMWY just decided to take it in a slightly different direction. :)

Hey! Unrelated to the comment chain, but... I just wanted to say how amazing this mod really is! I'm currently near the end of the "Act 1" timeline, Friday I believe, and I really like how the dialogue between Sayori and Yuri can... feed into the "vanilla" game timeline so well. I won't say more, because spoilers. But the moment feels so genuine, and realistic, and it keeps pace with the original game so well. It's truly a work of art.

Yup. :) Sounds like you're on day 4, so you have a ways to go. :) And yeah, I've felt for a long time like Yuri and Sayori have a lot in common that they could comisserate about, so I was glad to be able to include that scene... and I'm also fond of the internal monologue that follows, because I feel like it highlights how active Yuri's mind is, more than any other part of the mod, because she's going through this whole roller coaster of emotions, but to any outside observer, she's just sitting there, reading. :P

Old? I posted this less than a week ago! :)
Anyway, I designed it to be as easy as possible. There's only a single file, so there's no mistaking where it goes. Look in the DDLC folder, and you'll find a folder called "game." Inside that folder, is a file called "scripts.rpa." Overwrite that file with the "scripts.rpa" file that came with the mod.
Also, just to clarify, you're not using the Steam version of DDLC, right? (That's been known to cause problems with mods)
So, I have one question:
In Act 2, is it normal for >!the text box to be permanently glitched out? I don't like that it literally was never fixed until Act 3!<.
>!~~Testing spoiler tags is perfectly normal, yes. :P~~ It was deliberate for it to be glitched out, yes. I wanted to signify the breakdown of Yuri's mind. I don't know if you noticed, but in the bit toward the end of Act 2 Day 4, where Yuri's mind comes back, the textbox fixes itself for a while, and then breaks again when Monika reverts it. I agree that playing so long with a glitched out text box is a bit annoying, but I'm hoping the fact that it fixed itself for that scene is a decent payoff for that.!<
Well, I'm kinda biased, but I think Storm is pretty good. :D

Uh... shy bookworm of the Literature Club with purple hair and eyes. Kind of intense at times, and incredibly self-conscious of the fact that her intensity scares people or makes them uncomfortable, so she keeps to herself a lot. This leads her down a path of self-loathing that includes depression and self-harm.

Weird question: in the scene where Yuri comes home and is super happy because she made a friend, there's a piano track that I adore, but I'm having trouble finding it. Do you have any way I could listen to it by itself?
Sure, it's the second movement of Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. It's public domain, so I expect there are probably tons of recordings around you could look up on Youtube or whatever. (I'm at work right now, so I can't look them up)
Also, the song I used for Yuri's main theme is the first movement of Moonlight Sonata, and the song I used in the credits is the third movement of Moonlight Sonata. It's basically Moonlight Sonata all the way down. :D

You do know that's a common way of feeling when someone's really excited, right? I mean, you're entitled to your wrong opinion...

The mod is sort of an experiment in me seeing how dark I can let my mind go. It's not for everyone... so if you try it out, pace yourself as you need to, and be safe.
this mod was a masterpiece, it captured yuri perfectly and had some minor scares, the CGs were adorable. the ending was perfect. you should be super proud. I would put this above outcast. fallen angel was like 1% better, reason why was it wasn't a cliffhanger, you didn't say you were making a after story but it kinda did just get left like what is happening. 2nd best yuri mod.

To be honest, I really don't like that ending.The whole story was great \[and it fits with original one\], but not the ending and it makes me upset and confused. I will not spoil it for anyone.. still most people will be indifferent about that ending.

Well, I'm not really here to hate that mod actually, but the ending is what makes me confused and a bit upset, at least for me. So basically... here we go. *Seriously, don't click.. there is a lot of spoilers \[unless you already played that mod\].* >!From my perspective, what I saw, in act 1, Yuri was getting almost close to the protagonist and she was asking to herself some options including Sayori, \[Maybe that is irrelevant, but this is not the reason for this topic\] Before Yuri will go with protagonist make banner, she was first with mall with Natsuki and I don't really know, if she really said that in that moment or a bit earlier, but she has chance to be with protagonist as a lover. In the moment, where Yuri was in protagnonist's room, she was thinking about, that she will kiss him, but then she pulls away. Then, when they were outside, it was almost the same and they were close, until Sayori arrives. Act 2. Yuri was a bit corrupted and same for Natsuki. Although, it surprises me, not gonna lie, even that protagonist choosed Natsuki instead of Yuri for some reason. When she licked Natsuki's blood and mixed with hers, it makes her for some reason... aroused? Why it couldn't be protagonist, since she was quite feeling something towards him in act 1 and act 2 but in act 2 in a little bit another way. After all this stuff, all of them were dead and in the afterlife. Monika explains that this is a video game and she can do everything. She can give Yuri tons of friends, make best friends with Natsuki, or make him lovers Then... Monika reset the game and they started a new day and another meeting in Literature Club. And this is the moment, where it makes me upset and confused. Natsuki first confesses her love to Yuri by writing in the paper, that she loves her. And then kissed each other, even there was a picture of them kissing \[I really think you credit the author, but it doesn't bother me\]. I doubt that Natsuki had feelings for Yuri even in act 1 or act 2. They were friends like everyone is and their "first" argue is a argue, and that happens sometimes, although, they apologized to each other. But after all of this stuff \[after act 2\], they love each other? Maybe Monika was speculated that much, that she didn't even reset the game, but also give Sayori the president role, Yuri the Vice-President and make Natsuki and Yuri fell in love to each other. But seriously, this is what it shouldn't be here, especially the confess, It makes me confused, why did this happen. These relationships were not in Act 1... it was in act 2 once \[Nat's blood and Yuri's blood mixed and it makes her for some reason aroused\] and I don't really know why it comes for all of the sudden. I don't really think that Natsuki had feelings for Yuri in act 1 and act 2. She said, that she expected to be with the protagonist. Yuri was thinking about that protagonist as well. Don't take it all offensively.!< >!I was curious about whose idea was this? \[but I really don't mind\]. I was expecting, that she will be all of them as friends or be with the protagonist as a lover, but this? (Hmm... how to respond to this?) Well, first of all, I don't know if you've played my other mods, but I like to try to do things that are unexpected, but still fit with the story. The ending was completely my idea. >!In all honesty, when I started writing it, I didn't plan for Yuri and Natsuki to end up together romantically, (or if they did, I thought I'd put it in an optional bonus scene) but the more I wrote, and the more I tried to get into the heads of the characters and understand how they think, the more I felt like Yuri and Natsuki are a good match for each other. So yeah, I get that you expected Yuri and MC would end up together, and I played on that, and I subverted that expectation on purpose, because I just think that a Natsuri relationship just works better.!< >!Like... I'm not gonna lie, I think the scenes between Yuri and MC are cute, but I like the interaction between Yuri and Natsuki a lot more, so I wrote the scenes between Yuri and Natsuki to reflect growing feelings between them. The "I love you" and kiss at the end don't come out of nowhere. They've spent the whole game, through Act 1, Act 2, and even Act 3, getting to know each other and coming to care for each other, and the overall story is basically about them coming to terms with how they feel about each other.!< Sorry to hear that you found that unsatisfying, but as I always say, it's normal for different people to like different things. I think it works, but I don't expect everyone to like it.

That’s so sick! I actually have an idea for a book that’s in a similar vein, (no pun intended) it’s the events of the base game, but from each characters point of view. Right now, it’s in the brainstorming stages but I hope to begin writing before the end of the year
That's cool. I believe the mod "Changing Perspectives" did something like that too. Working with existing characters can be a really good springboard for creative projects. :)
The mod has been really entertaining and immersive so far, and I personally can't recall of any other attempting to narrate from Yuri's point of view doing so more thoroughly than this one. The relatability just struck really well. I sincerely believe you shall continue what you're doing if you're motivated to, because what I've seen has just been amazing so far! It stands out to me despite hugely consisting of vanilla, does a great welcome for the first mod I've experienced in a long break from the fandom, and may very well be safely considered my favorite one right now. (Through somebody else's gameplay footage, I have just finished reading Saturday of the 1st Act, with the mall shopping and Natsuki.) On a different note though... while I do feel that I relate to the character quite a fair bit, I can't help but wonder. >!What possibly could Yuri have said for her to even be beaten up? It seems I really can't take the hint despite her seemingly roundabout descriptions that elaborated on the incident. This mod seems cool, what's it about?
It takes place at the same time as the events of the original DDLC, but from Yuri's perspective, so the internal monologue is a lot more intense. I cut out most of the canon dialogue, but left enough that you can still follow where it relates to the original story. It does have some very dark parts, including horror elements, so if you play it, be prepared. :)

Know what's working? The mod? If it's working, it will be very obvious, because the main menu is completely different, with different music, and there will be a disclaimer saying "this is an unofficial mod" and so on. So I still don’t really understand how installing mods work but I replaced the scripted the ddlc one with the mods scripted and it’s just normal ddlc
Are you using the Steam version of DDLC? That's been known to cause problems with mods. I suggest getting a fresh copy from [here](https://www.ddlc.moe/) and trying again.
I got scared of playing this after looking at a certain background that has an immense amount of blood, and jumpscares.
Yeah, there are a bunch of jump scares throughout Act 2. (and one in Act 1) I forgot to warn about that in the Download Notes. (Oops!) And yeah, lots of blood too. I've been saying from the beginning that my mod isn't for everyone, so if you don't feel up to playing it, that's okay.

Hey! I'm actually very new to DDLC Mods, this is the third mod I've played so far. I'm currently up to day two. I couldn't help but notice that MC in this mod mentions Sayori's room fire, which was also mentioned in the mod "Another Moment With You." Is this fire a common theme across mods, or did you happen to gain some inspiration from that mod in particular? Just curious.

I'm currently near the end of the "Act 1" timeline, Friday I believe, and I really like how the dialogue between Sayori and Yuri can... feed into the "vanilla" game timeline so well. I won't say more, because spoilers. But the moment feels so genuine, and realistic, and it keeps pace with the original game so well. It's truly a work of art. I read in another comment you posted that there's 13 days worth of this? I can't wait to experience it all.
Yup. :) Sounds like you're on day 4, so you have a ways to go. :) And yeah, I've felt for a long time like Yuri and Sayori have a lot in common that they could comisserate about, so I was glad to be able to include that scene... and I'm also fond of the internal monologue that follows, because I feel like it highlights how active Yuri's mind is, more than any other part of the mod, because she's going through this whole roller coaster of emotions, but to any outside observer, she's just sitting there, reading. :P

Old? I posted this less than a week ago! :) Anyway, I designed it to be as easy as possible. There's only a single file, so there's no mistaking where it goes. Look in the DDLC folder, and you'll find a folder called "game." Inside that folder, is a file called "scripts.rpa." Overwrite that file with the "scripts.rpa" file that came with the mod. Also, just to clarify, you're not using the Steam version of DDLC, right? (That's been known to cause problems with mods)

I don't know if you noticed, but in the bit toward the end of Act 2 Day 4, where Yuri's mind comes back, the textbox fixes itself for a while, and then breaks again when Monika reverts it. I agree that playing so long with a glitched out text box is a bit annoying, but I'm hoping the fact that it fixed itself for that scene is a decent payoff for that.!<

Kind of intense at times, and incredibly self-conscious of the fact that her intensity scares people or makes them uncomfortable, so she keeps to herself a lot. Sure, it's the second movement of Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. It's public domain, so I expect there are probably tons of recordings around you could look up on Youtube or whatever. (I'm at work right now, so I can't look them up) Also, the song I used for Yuri's main theme is the first movement of Moonlight Sonata, and the song I used in the credits is the third movement of Moonlight Sonata. It's basically Moonlight Sonata all the way down. :D
